On June 30, 2023 I closed on a Cash Out Refinance on my personal residence. The wire transfer for $296,442.20 was wired into my personal account at Truist Bank. On Thursday, August 17th, I was wiring funds out and on Friday morning August 18th I received a call from John, who worked in Personal Accounts Department at the corporate office of Truist Bank in Charlotte and he advised me that my wire could not go out due to a "FRAUD FREEZE" on my account. I called the local Branch Manager, Shelby Peltier [protected]) to inquire why the account was frozen. She said there was a 90 day hold for fraud on the previous incoming wire transfer on June 30th. She rudely said she couldn't do anything until the investigation was completed. However she said I could bring in whatever documention I had. Monday, August 21st I dropped off 146 pages of Closing Docs, Mortgage Loan Statement and also emailed the wire transfer information from theTitle Company. I also found out that Truist Bank Fraud Department called the title company on Friday, August 18th and the Title Company sent the wiring information to them. I sent an email to Erich Fahrner, the Senior Relationship Banker [protected]) looking for a status on my account. He said I was in the Fraud Department and they have a separate division and no phone number was available. In the meantime, I am stuck without access to my funds. To date I also have received four Non-Sufficient Funds notices at $35 each and have businesses calling me for payment. Someone needs to be held accountable for this. I am the innocent person here and I should have protection here to access my money. Why did the bank allow this to be wired into my account on June 27th and not notify me of any problem? My rights and protections have been seriously violated and I should be able to knowwhat is going on with my money. I am unable to pay my everyday living expenses and something needs to be resolved IMMEDIATELY. I have reached out on social media and have hired an attorney and contacted the Florida Attorney General and the United States Attorney General's Office and Congressman Byron Donalds.
Desired outcome: To Unfreeze my account for immediate access to my funds, removemy obligationto paytheNSF fees, to reimburse my attorneys fees and to send letters to the title company, mortgage company removing any further obligation.
