I was charged €99.99 for an eDreams Prime membership on July 26, 2024, which I did not request, nor did I authorize. This charge was made without my consent, and I have repeatedly requested a feedback and refund via email, but have not received any satisfactory response, my last mails were never responded to at all.
Additionally, I encountered a €67 unauthorized price increase during a flight booking on June 27, 2024. I was charged €215 instead of the €148 initially displayed, without any final confirmation step in the booking process.
Despite my efforts to resolve these issues directly with customer service, I have not received a refund or any proper resolution.
Such behavior is completely unacceptable in today’s business environment, where consumer rights and transparency must be prioritized. It's disturbing that a publicly known company would engage in deceptive practices, especially in the travel industry where trust and reliability are crucial. This type of treatment is not only unethical and damaging for customers but also damages the reputation of companies that fail to respect their customers' basic rights.
Recommendation: I will never use this company's services!
Dear J. Wiegand, indeed! I appreciate your effort for reply, and thank you very much for your considarate feedback and advice! I tried to write many times to eDreams. At first I got few AI-alike responses, and afterwards no reaponses at all. I have screen shots as prooves and I need support in finding a way to reach someone in charge, who will acctually hear the message and take care of it. I am really desparate that something like this can happen at all. Will try to find the way to reach management of the company. If you have any related info to direct me, I will be grateful.
The absence of resolution to such unauthorized charging is a severe offense on its own. And the €99.99 membership fee along with €67 price increase without any written consent are contrary to the accepted standards of consumer protection. Systematically escalate the issue to the top management of eDreams or their head office and send evidence along that proves you were charged without your authorization, and demand a refund. If the matter remained unresolved, you may think about filing complaints with the financial institution, aiming at a chargeback and a complaint with consumer protection agencies in the area where you are based.
