I listed a ring on Vestiaire for sale. This was a gift from my parents 20 years ago.
The ring was listed as size 51. On receipt, the buyer requested to cancel the sale, as he was expecting the ring to be size 52. Unfortunately, he did not read the listing properly as the size was clearly stated in the 'details' section of the listing.
Despite this, Vestiaire allowed him to cancel the sale, giving me no proof of the sizing being incorrect.
The item was sent back to me and then held by DHL with a customs charge of £250, which I had to refuse as I can't afford to pay this.
I have sent several messages to customer service, but it seems that the staff there are not reading the case fully as they simply keep telling me to re-list the item.
I left a review on trust pilot and the response said that they would get back to me about the customs charge - but they never did.
The dispute has not been properly looked into and as a result I have now lost both my precious ring and the sale fee. I have had to take time off work due to the stress.
Claimed loss: £800
Desired outcome: Pay me the seller fee promised plus a day's work.
