Rate increases and charges
I own a rent controlled 8 unit apartment Building , with 3 cubic trash bin, In 2018 the city in a closed door meeting decided to monopolize the trash industry, giving only one hauler excusive rights to pick up trash and denying consumers choice, my trash collection before Waste management took over was Athens Disposal charging $151 a month , when waste Management took over from the start charged $334 to now $443 and they increase the rates every year regardless, there is nobody overseeing there business practice since the city gave them a green light, when you call and talk to them there response is that they had a meeting and voted on the increase, if they are financially benefiting from the increase of course they are going to vote for it. This is extremely frustrating to me and also to other businesses that have no voice in the matter.
I hope others also voice their disapproval so this issue can be resolved.

Not picking up glass
I have have called countless times during the past few months, asking Waste Management to please pick up my glass. It is always in it's proper bin, beside the trash and recycling bins when I put them out. It's in clear, full view, yet they constantly just flat out refuse to pick it up! There is never anything except glass in it. I'm always being told Oh, they'll pick it up next time, oh, they'll pick it up next time. They never do. Constantly calling to have it picked up and being ignored is exhausting. They clearly don't care about their paying customers.

96 gallon residential replacement can
I called from Rainbow Omega and complained that one of our residential 96-gallon cans had been inadvertently taken by the waste truck. I called and spoke to a customer service agent and had a work ticket put in on December 5, 2022. (405831) After a week, I had not received my can, so I called again for a reminder. The next call I made was to a supervisor named Angela, she assured me I would get my can. I didn't get my can, so, another week went by, and I called again and spoke with Kayla (supervisor) and she assured me she would speak with Angela and get us straightened out. They did not get me straightened out. I called again today, and some smart [censored] "supervisor" named James got on the phone with his Boushie attitude and told me I would have one here at Rainbow tomorrow. All this being said, you have supervisors not following through with their responsibilities and it's making your company look foolish. Waste management is what you do but you can't manage to get Rainbow Omega one 96-gallon roll away can for well over a month? We are a large company for you to be dismissing in such a way. We are paying for the service and yet your supervisors don't see the need to do their jobs. I would like a follow up from someone of authority from your business to return this correspondence. Non-negotiable adhesion contract and far above market rates for services
After many years as a customer of WM, we realized we were paying far above the going rate for trash pickup at our small apartment building. Our automatically-renewing agreement comes up for renewal in May 2024 but we contacted WM on Dec 12, 2022 to say we wished to terminate as soon as possible. According to the agreement, since more than 6 months remain on the contract, we would be assessed liquidation damages calculated as the 6 months' charges immediately prior to termination - essentially paying a penalty equal to 6 months of no service. While we find this draconian, we do not dispute that this is what the contract requires. But WM also tells us we need to give them 90 days notice and we take issue with that. Their contract states that the term shall automatically renew unless we provide "written notice of termination at least ninety (90) days, but not more than one hundred eighty (180) days, prior to the termination of the then-existing term." As there are more than 180 days until the termination of our current agreement, we do not believe we are bound to give them 90 days notice and remain a paying customer for 3 more months. NOTE: we have found another vendor who is charging us under $200/month for the same service.
Desired outcome: Waive or reimburse us the fee for the 90 days. We have already paid the liquidation penalty of over $8,000. The additional 90 days will cost us around $4,400.
After several unsatisfactory communications with two different account associates, one of whom told me there was no one above him to whom I could speak, I located the email address of WM's CEO and emailed him with my concern. I was quickly referred to an area manager who waived the 90 days' notice, which would have cost us $4, 500 in unwanted service, and terminated our contract effective Jan 1, 2022. It pays to question and push back when dealing with huge corporations, exhausting as it can be to do so. The area manager agreed that the contract language was not as clear as it could be while stopping short of saying it wasn't still binding. We are still out over $8, 000 in liquidation damages, but it could have been worse.
pickup
It is a joke, they only pick up what they want to pick up. For example, I live in a trailer park in Benner Township, Pa and I had a big box with broken down boxes in, put it in front of trash cans. The man moved the box back and emptied the trash but at another stop picked up a box with boxes in it. They did the same thing last week after Christmas when they used to pick them up. Other customers have complained about their service as well. Crappy service for $60. Lazy people in my opinion knowing they are the only game in town and don't care how they do their job. Well, I will pay by check from now and the days I do not get full service, no money for that week.

Debree, rats, dying trees
Waste management in aloha on Blanton has been asked over an over to keep up on there debris mass leaves that clog our ditch drain our street drain and gutter foundation drains. They have a once a week schedule to street sweep which is good but when there an excessive amount of leaves it pushes some of the leaves and round 1 inch spiked seed that act like rebar into sidewalk drains. Also clogs both sides of street drains and 8 inch ditch drain. Also all over are yards it get to be a mess. Also since buying aloha garbage the rats have gone crazy.
The same trees are dying unsafe large branches break off and fall on street side wall and buy my mail box that's directly under them. the trees are large 60 to 70 feet tall enough to take out the power to my street and Intel witch is the neighbor to. The lines are 35ft from trees. I intend to talk to Intel to help me with this to. It's in both our best interest as for rats and debris. Intel helped me before with aloha garbage. Waste management does a great job they need to realize this is residential on one side and commercial on the other. Intel, Washington county sheriff, Washington county police all keep up on the land scape cleaning. As far as manage at waste management Aloha I have ask for years, after talking to the manager again its simple thing when there's a lot of leave go off scale and clean them up. be courteous and have some respect for other peoples time and property. YOU should not be an [censored] an blow people off for years. Recycling
Recycling has not been picked up since December 11,2022. While I understand we did have a snow storm, shouldn't an organization as large as waste management have a contingency plan? Why was there no plan to pick up garbage and recycling once the ban was lifted. I now have weeks worth of recycling sitting out in the rain and have been told it will not be picked up until my regularly scheduled date of December 9th! This is so ridiculous. I am not the only resident that put out their recycling. As I drove around Hamburg I saw 100s of recycle totes out even tho it was not our scheduled date.
Desired outcome: waste management should pick up the recycling asap!

We have had more snow than usual this year (November/ December 2022). We've called WM on 2 different occasions asking them to pick up our recycling. The 2nd time, my husband spoke to a supervisor. He was told that because of the weather, which they have no control over, we'd just have to wait til they could get here and they would not issue a credit for the 3 times they should have picked up. Well, I would like to know why this is the case. Our garbage gets picked up every week. UPS is able to deliver. Why is our recycling not being picked up? In my opinion, it has nothing to do with the weather. I'm not the only customer on my road who is outraged!

I would like to file a complaint against one of your lifters who was very rude to my husband that's a driver there . How disrespectful he was to him he's lucky I wasn't a driver I would have had a few choice words for him . This is unacceptable to be like this you as a company should have better control of things . Abandon
Driver pulled out on to a main thoroughfare with reckless abandon and almost caused a terrible collision. I was driving my wife to work. We had our 2 children in the car. 6 mos. And 4 yrs ol. She is a delivery driver for Amazon. Her work base location is At Pinnacle Peak and just west of 7th street. Deer Valley, AZ. AKA North Phoenix.
I was driving Northbound on 19th ave in the far right lane closing in on Pinnacle Peak Rd where I was turning right (east). About a block south of Pinnacle Peak i witnessed a Waste Managment garbags truck pulling out of a commercial Complex. He pulled up to the street and was obvious he seen our vehicle, he paused once then floored it out of ths driveway turning northbound. He then turned right onto Pinnacle Peak and slowly pulled to the side of the road so I could pass.
When the driver pulled out I had to slam on the brakes so hard the tires screached and everything that wasnt fastened down flew up to the front of the vehicle. It was so violent my kids started crying. If I wasnt watching him the whole time then fhsfe would of been. Serious collision.

Lack of Service
You have missed 2 bi-weekly pick-ups at Trilogy at Redmond Ridge in Novelty Hill WA King County for re-cycling and now you claim you will not come until January 2nd. The first missed pick-up may have had some snow but yesterday December 19th there was none. In Fact, the garbage was picked up and was picked up earlier than usual. So, how come you drivers just seem to go home whenever they do not feel they want to continue working. This is a senior community and very full containers are extremely dangerous, especially when you say the containers should be out until 6PM--JUST IN CASE- you decide to pick-up. How are you going to compensate us and why can't you come earlier than January 2nd. If the next pick-up is January 2nd we have to take items to an alternate place at extra charge,

Service cancellation fee
I have recently cancelled my home trash pickup service. I was very pleased with the service, however the constant increase in fees has forced to contract with a service at half of your price.
I received my final invoice. I expected to pay the $75 for the "removal charge". My final bill was for $109.02 rather than the $75 I expected. When I finally got thru to speak with a person I was informed that the extra fees were for fuel surcharges, environmental charge and regulatory recovery charge.
I have no idea what the break-out of these fees are, but I think it is silly if not criminal to charge an environmental fee just to pick up a clean Cart.
I am in the process of submitting a complaint to the Tennessee Attorney General, but thought I should give you a chance to respond first.
Desired outcome: Remove the additional fees and provide a new invoice.

This company is scheduled to pick up trash on Fridays. No trash pick up last Friday Dec 9. Got an email there will be no trash pick up this week Dec 16. Can NOT reach them by phone or chat. The bill has not been adjusted. Impossible to talk to someone. Have auto payment and went in to change that on their website but not sure it will change. I unchecked the box for auto pay. My 90 year old mother needs trash pickup.
They missed trash pick up before but I was able to talk to a person.

the Garbage man
I have a few complaints. 1. The garbage's that are provided from you at my house are smaller than everyone elses in the neighborhood.
I am having to always buy more garbage cans but every single one that I have bought so far has been broken by the garbage man. I just bought a $50 one and not even 24 hours, it was broken. Walked outside today and my small black one is too. I have gone through 6 garbage cans this past year. I am so tired of the garbage man just throwing my garbage cans. Not only that, there is always left over garbage on the ground that I have to pick up.
Desired outcome: I would like for the garbage men to stop throwing the garbage cans down after and brake them, cleaning up any garbage that landed on the floor after going to toss the garbage and honestly, I have spent hundreds of dollars on garbage cans.

Over charges and retention department refused to allow me to speak to mgr
We have been having issues with WM over a period of time with not picking up our trash and every time we would call it was due to not enough man power/staffing issues however, I was never offered a discount on my bill for the weeks not picked up. After several months, I called to discontinue our service and they stated I had a contract which was due to renew 11/1/22, as advised I requested termination of services within 90 days of renewal which they honored to end 10/31/22, however, they did not disclose to me that a $215 removal fee was going to be charged. Not to mention they also billed me for the month of Novemeber (11/1-11/30) $284.19 (dumpster $175.14, fuel/environment $98.86 and a regulatory charge $9.88). I get a final bill for the month of December showing the $215 removal fee an additional fuel/environmental charge $18.54, regulatory charge $1.88 and a prorate for the month of november -$181.11 which doesn't credit the entire month of november. I tried calling WM to have the entire month of november credited and to have the removal fee either removed or lowered but the guy I spoke to in the retention department not only refused to comprise he also refused to allow us to speak to a manager stating he was highest we could go. I then asked where I can mail in writing my grievances and he stated only customer service could assist me with that and transferred me. Customer service did state that the retention dept should have addressed my concerns.
Desired outcome: Credit entire month of November and if possible the removal fee. This is the least they can do after they never even made an effort to reduce our bill for not picking up our trash during the time they didn't pick up.

I like the service I pay for and proof the management and the driver is punished for my time they waste.
The driver did not pick up the trash on set date and the office promised for 3 days they have the driver come back come back next day to complete the job that they are being paid to do. The video shows the driver never came back and put in the system he did, and the management does not care about the customer and collect money for service the driver dose not complete the service. with the video show the driver never came back. CSR hang up on you when you call because they know the management does not care about the customer.

billing and overcharging
I have been billed for services that weren't provided. I was charged upfront for a delivery fee for a trash container that was already at the home from the previous tenants. I let customer service know there was already a can here. I was set up on auto-draft. I paid quarterly. Several times over the service contract our trash wasn't picked up. I received a notice that WM would no longer service our area. The letter stated our can would be picked up after November 01, 2022, and to leave the can out until picked up. I had set up a new service to start once this had ended, however, I put my trash out on 10/17/2022 for pick up on 10/18/2022, trash was picked up and so was the can. They are trying to charge for services not rendered, I refuse to pay for services not rendered! I then received another bill for administrative fees for the next month $13.50. I am not paying these fees. This company does not provide services that they charge for nor do they abide by the service agreement.
