Trash and recycling not picked up
Several weeks in the past 3 months our neighborhood in the Nevada City, CA rural areas recycling and trash had not been picked up as scheduled. Our scheduled Trash pickup days are every Tuesday and every other Tues. for Trash and Recycle. We have called several times and basically lied to saying they "will have a pickup tomorrow". It seems they have a pickup schedule that is they'll pick up as they feel like they want to.
We are still being charged by Waste Management for these missed pickup weeks. We should not be charged for these missed pickup weeks. As it stands, Waste Management owes us several free pickups.
Desired outcome: Please refund for the missed pickups. Be more honest with your customers.Please send trucks out to pick up trash and recycling immediately.

New residential service
To WM Management
Trying to contact a representative by phone is near impossible for new residential service.

After 5 attempts through 4 phone numbers I did finally speak with a
very helpful representative who transferred me to an agent for new
service. After holding near to 1/2 hour I gave up and terminated the call.
You must lose a lot of new customers who have a question after visiting your
online service order site and have no way to ask a representative a simple question.

Recycle and yard waste pickup
Address: Mill Creek Rd, Middleburg, FL 32068. Monday's we are to have yard and recycle pickup yet since I moved to this road, the only time recycle was picked up was when I called about a missed pickup. Again today, I have to call to get regularly scheduled service. There has been yard bags and bulk piles of limbs sitting across the street and it is an eye sore. Why? I call and tell whomever answers the problem is no service whatsoever on Monday's. The only truck that comes is trash on Tuesday. I work from home and I don't leave and I know recycle truck and yard waste do not show up at all. 2 phone calls and all I get is leave it out and we will be there or you need the right bins. How do you know I have the wrong bins if you never come down my road? Am I seriously going to have to call every time my bin is full or I have yard waste that needs to be picked up? I hope someone can and will rectify this situation. This road is on a route your trucks are skipping intentionally. I hope for some resolution because WM customer support is just not doing it.
Desired outcome: Pickup of recycle and yard at least every other week without having to call for service that should be provided already.

No Services
This is into the FOURTH MONTH YOU PEOPLE have NOT abided by your contract. We have paid for EVERY month since being here. Since December 2022 YOU have NOT fulfilled your end of the agreement. We have FOUR MONTHS of garbage whose removal has been PAID FOR and YOU have done NOTHING. YOUR customer service is completely useless. Not one thing they 'promise' to be done has been done.
Desired outcome: Do what you say you will do, and what we have already paid for.

New Trash Bins
New trash cans delivered from WM. Only one. Can buy or rent another. MY trash cans are the exact same ones (possibly more sturdy) but same size etc. Why would I have to spend more money in this economy to put out extra trash. I rarely see a house with only one trash bin to be picked up. WM is not giving us a discount for doing less work. They will no longer pick up trash that is outside the bin. They have a monopoly in Ross Twp and are taking advantage of the customers.
Desired outcome: Let us use our bins if they are the same. Give us a discount on trash collection if they wont pick up anything outside the can.

Recyclables did not get picked up for two weeks
My recyclable container have not been picked up for two weeks in a row. The rest of the neighborhood recyclables was picked up except for mine.
The first week this happened I have contacted their missed pick-up chat and I was told they would come by that afternoon to pick it up. It did not happen. Contacted Waste Management again the following day on Friday, I was told the same thing but my recyclables was again, not picked up. They also said it would come by on Monday and that also did not happen.
The trash/recyclables pick up is scheduled on Thursday, which is today and I saw the recyclable pick-up truck skip my house and picked up the next door neighbors recyclables along with the rest of the neighborhood. I contacted WM chat for missed pick up again and they said they can't do anything about it until that truck returns. I also contacted their customer service line who was not very helpful and difficult. I want a refund of my monthly payment for missed service pick ups.
Desired outcome: I want a refund of my monthly payment for missed pick up services for the past two weeks.
No response whatsoever from WM except the same bad service.
Sad to say but I think that emailing wmcares@wm.com is a sign for WM leads to give bad service to customers that complain.
Almost like putting myself in a black list of sorts and subject to retaliatory acts like my service request not being done properly and my recyclables not picked up for weeks on end.
This has not been resolved. Contacted WM to replace recyclable container for this past week. Instead they replaced a regular trash bin and left the damaged recyclable container. And also did not pick up the recyclables for the third week in a row.

Two days late for pick up and garbage truck came instead
Picked up everyone else on street but mine and next door neighbors. Both of us called more than once. Finally showed up with garbage truck not recycle truck. Then found my recycles on road and had to pick up. It was also very windy the day it was supposed to be picked up and me and neighbor had to pick it up then too. Why bother to recycle if it ends up in the garbage truck or street anyway.
Desired outcome: I would like the service I pay for and recycles to be recycled.

Skipping service not picking up yard waste
It is Thursday February 16, 2023 @5:10PM. My yard waste hasn’t been picked up. We have yard waste in paper yard bags next to our trash can. They simply didn’t pick it up. I am paying for services that I am not receiving. I pay my bill faithfully and I am not getting proper service. This has been going on since December. Not picking up trash or yard waste. When I call to make a complaint I will be told that they will pick up the next day. That never happens, they will not come until the next scheduled day which is Thursdays, if they pick up then. If services doesn’t get any better I will be taking my business to another company.
I need a refund on service that I didn’t receive.

Horticulture pick up
I have put out my palm fronds by the curb on friday Feb 10th 2023 (my regular pick up day) as usual, perhaps few more fronds than usual but nonetheless in 22 years there was never an issue. Now all of the sudden on wednesday Feb 15th, 2023 truck came 5 days late and two young guys in it were overwhelmed by a pile of palm waste that an 59 year old man placed there himself. Furthermore after contacting Waste Management and speaking with a Supervisor (Jennifer) I was lectured about rules and regulations and told that the fronds are to be cut to 4 foot sections and bundled into 50 pound clusters so that the young men can pick them up. Palm debris was never scrutinized this way since when it falls off a tree it is a one piece as is. It is not a tree that was cut into sections but palm debris. Now I have to go and get a saw to cut palm fronds? And place them neatly so that they can be picked up without breaking a nail sort of speak. I told the supervisor that I would load the truck myself but they will not bring it back since that would put the two young guys to shame. And if those workers can't do the job they should be fired. They are not there for decoration but to do work. Not only did they come out late but don't want to do any work. Totaly useless.
Desired outcome: I want this debris picked up and not be lectured on how things are done. I also would like to see it in writing where it says that palm fronds need to be cut up tied up and placed in containers weighing no more than 50 pounds.
I sent an email and now what ? NOTHING. The truck did not even stop at my property on this Friday indicating to me that either they were instructed to do so or simply retaliating for my complaint.
Pick up times
Waste management picks up in the afternoon in Boron. I have complained about over a decade, that because of the afternoon winds they need to pick up in the morning from our community. I am a 70 year old teacher, I do not need to come home and find my 2 cans, which I pay over $100 a quarter for being blown down the street... Still unemptied... Because they cannot understand weather patterns. Duh now I am going to have to go out and wrestle with the cans to get them back up and hopefully they will stay up while wm takes its sweet time to pick them up.
Desired outcome: Pick up in the morning, and if you can't pick up in the morning, they should get out of the truck and pick the cans up so they can be emptied.

Consistent skipping of trash pickup
My trash was not picked up January 27th. I called customer service and was told the container was frozen to the ground( not true. I had placed a bag at 7 am and they pickup at 8am). Then February 3(my next scheduled pickup) they skipped my trash pickup again. January,February and March they routinely skip my pickup. I live in a rural area. why am I paying for a service that is not being consistently provided?
Desired outcome: Pickup the trash on the scheduled day. If the school buses can drive on the road-so can the garbage trucks.

Trash pick-up
I live in an apartment complex. Earlier this morning, a waste management truck picked up our garbage and in doing so knocked down some internet cable lines. I was never called or notified regarding this. I work from home, so not having internet makes it impossible to work. Waste management never reported the issue or contacted me. I had to discover it myself. At no point has waste management contacted me about apologizing or helping me with lost income.
Desired outcome: Waste management acknowledges the issue, contacts me for an apology, and discuss compensation.

Customer service and won't refund
I have called customer service for a week, 3 times. They collected my payment 2 times and was supposed to issue a refund. One person said 24 to 48 hours, the next person said 3 business days and then got hateful when I stated that day was day 4, and the 3rd, he was the worst. He told me it was credited to my account, wouldn't help me get that refunded, I stated I wanted to cancel service cause of the ineptitude. He said I can't cause of the contract. He sent me the contract and it states if the company doesn't perform.. Well this is terrible performance. Also, I told him I could get a dumpster for over 100 cheaper and weekly pickup from another company and he got hateful. Poor company. Overcharge, lie, and horrible customer service. Oh and the rising rates.. Never been notified and they can't claim fuel until the past couple of years. My payment never goes down when fuel is cheap but continues to go up.
Desired outcome: Refund the over payment and cancel service. Been with the company for over 10 years and this is pathetic.

Trying to cancel trash pick up
They already removed our can because they claimed it was damaged. No need for a removal fee - that we never agreed to. We signed with a different company that WM bought out. Just don’t bring a new can and don’t come back. This company has terrible customer service. They pick up trash when they feel like it, then get an attitude when you ask them to come get trash. They still charge the overpriced full charge regardless of if they show up every week or not. Now because we would rather just do it ourselves we have to pay fees for a can to be removed that’s already been removed! This is ridiculous. Take the monthly bill and go away! I do not see a point in paying a removal fee for a can that is not here at all. And the other fees, take those from all the months we were charged full price for services we did not get.

Dumpster removal
During removal of a 20 yard dumpster, driver clipped rear end of a personal work truck. Photos taken just prior to dumpster removal, and just after; clearly show new damage to truck, tracks in the yard from WM truck, and broken talilight pieces on ground following dumpster removal. Incident was immediately reported. three months later, WM has denied the claim because there is no "proof". The evidence is most definitely not circumstantial. The evidence is clear and the pictures more than support that. We are a smaller company but have more than a dozen accounts with WM. We understand that accidents can and will happen, we only ask to be remedied when they do. Very disappointing that this was the choice made following such clear evidence contradicting a claim denial. The first picture below clearly shows the position of the truck off the road in the grass where the driver requested I park. The last picture clearly shows a large tire track next to my truck, and the debris from my tail light proving the damage is new. Come on WM, do the right thing.
Desired outcome: simply repair the tailight and left rear fender of the truck that was damaged

After several months of late pick-up, often extending a week to two seeks I cancelled my service. I originally initiated pick up service with Advanced Disposal. There was never a contract or agreement regarding a "cancellation fee." On August 16, 2022, an invoice was sent to me with a $75.00 "removal charge" along with addition environmental, fuel and administrative charges totaling $108.49. Since I had never entered into any agreement or contract with any company regarding cancellation charges, I chose not to pay this. Your late pickup and disregard for timely service was the reason for our cancellation.
Since that date we have been receiving harassing telephone calls and messages. These are simply arbitrary charges. Please have this stopped immediately!
Desired outcome: Please stop the harassment and void the noted charges.

Pick up isn't as schedule
South court, trucks started backing down street (when they do pick up) which causes north side residents to put their trash in front of south side residents which causes conflict in entire neighbourhood no reason for trucks to back down street theres a turn around at end of street that they used for years.

When we started using waste management, we never agreed that we'd pay $75 if we cancelled the service just for them to pick up the can. This stipulation was added without our consent. Not only did we get charged $75 for tote removal but we also got billed for "Prorated service-96 gallon toter Evective from 1/14/23 through 3/31/23" for something that was removed on 1/12/23. Then on top of those ridiculous charges you've added an environmental charge of $2.37 and an administrative charge of $8.50. So you think we should pay $140. 75 for a service we don't even have. Some how the bill is 140.75 but when you add up those charges it isn't even correct. We owed nothing when we cancelled because we had paid our 3 month service already. How is it we're charged a price of $75 for removal of a garbage can that we never agreed to pay when we started this service? And how do you think you can charge all of this extra for something that we no longer have. It states on the bill the can was removed 1/12/23. You're charging for a service after we no longer had it. This is unbelievable. I'd like this situation resolved. I will be reaching out to the BBB.

Today I received my quarterly invoice with 2 rate increases:
96 Gallon Toter from $44.07 to $55.08
Fuel/Environmental charge from $21.95 to $24.68
A total increase from $61.85 to $74.48.
This is a 20% increase!
With NO advance notice given.
Your "fine print" reads as if this is acceptable to raise your rates with no notice. This is NOT acceptable - you can generate an email at the time these rates are internally decided and relate such to customers just like internet and cell phone providers do.
I've been happy with WM for 30 years in California and until now in AZ.
Desired outcome: Return my rate to the previous amount.
WM called today and completely resolved this issue. I appreciate their reaching out.
