Yankee Candle Yankee candle doesn't smell when lit

i bought a new 104g yankee candle in the vanilla frosting scent yesterday on the 27th of april, at sainsburys in luton the serial number is1648279E. The candle has a strong smell when its cold but when its lit it doesn't emit a smell. I've burnt it for 3 hours but still can't smell anything. The candle also doesn’t burn evenly.

Desired outcome: Please can i get a refund

Yankee Candle 22oz candle

I had (have) a Sicilian lemon candle from Yankee candle. The other day after it burning for roughly 2 hours in my bathroom we noticed a weird smell so we opened the door to be hit with a cloud of smoke and soot. The tub, walls and mirror all covered and the entire hours smelled of smoke and nastiness for days. The jar is pitch black now and the candle itself almost see-through. Had we not noticed it I don't like to think what could of happened to my kids, pets or apartment complex

Yankee Candle Soot damage to bedroom

My daughter bout one of the candles. After 20 minutes black smoke began to appear from the wick. It has left soot damage to the walls, ceiling, shelves and windows. When I contacted Yankee they have refused to accept responsibility that the candles have an issue even though there have been numerous complaints for the same issue. They offered me £50 of other products. Why would I want this when there is hundreds of pounds worth of damage to the bedroom?

Do not buy these products. Customer service is none existent.

Yankee Candle Being over charged for a Yankee Candle and being refused to use reward points

To whom it may concern,

I was in Yankee Candle in Deerfield Ma, today at 12:00pm to buy large jar candles. Upon checking out at 1:54pm I spent $234.42 in candles and when asked about using my rewards, the cashier had said I could not because my order was complete even though I paid in cash and she charged me full price on a candle that was supposed to be $10.00 if you spent $30.00 or more. My husband made a special trip to this store in Deerfield for my birthday today. I'm extremely disappointed after spending all this money. I have been a loyal customer for many years. I have say I'm very disappointed.

No smell and wax burning brown. I have had these candles for years. This is a waste during times when money is scarce

I have been a LONG time purchaser of Yankee Candles. They had a longstanding reputation for being deeply scented and very long lasting. Im glad its not just me that can no longer smell these candles. I was so excited to purchase Christmas Tree and Balsam Fir and after they were first lit the scent entirely disappeared! These are insanely expensive candles!...

Yankee Candle Black soot all over my room!

My sister and I have been going to the yankee store once a month and purchasing candles to last a month. 3 years now. All of a sudden we both notice black in our homes! The walls, ceiling, even inside my cupboards! Something has changed with your candles! Too many of us are having the same issues. We will find alternatives. Please, Yankee Candle Co. Fix this. Please. We miss the candles that never caused soot.

Desired outcome: Fix your complaints. Replace our candles.

Yankee Candle absolutely cannot get anywhere ordering a corporate order

I have spent the better part of 2 days to try to reach someone to place an order for a large corporate order and called all through the day. Was given an 800# to place the order, but it was an invalid phone # and required an automated survey about if people in my house are over 60 and have medicare - completely unrelated to a Yankee candle purchase. I tried calling back asking for a manager calling for the correct # could not get anywhere. Sent an email to the "corporate order department" and never heard back.

Yankee Candle 50th anniversary cherry vanilla 538g

After this candle has burnt down to about 1/3rd black soot was collecting around the rim and the wick burning in a large erratic manner…the candle had been burning in our lounge for a few hours and we both commented that we both felt a sickly feeling going to bed but put it down to perhaps food etc. The following morning I noticed black soot within my nostrils and when my partner checked, his nostrils were lined with jet black soot also…we still both felt very thick headed and now we could assess the reason was the Yankee candle. How dangerous a health risk is this? This should not happen and not from a company with so much expertise and experience making candles. Everyone should be made aware that this can happen, god forbid we don't have children that breathed this in.

Yankee Candle A Yankee candle that has exploded and shattered and burnt my carpet!!

A Yankee candle on a shelf has exploded, and shattered and burnt my carpet, had anyone been sitting near it, it could have caused serious injury, I can send pictures .

If I claim on my insurance my premiums would go up and my excess is £350.
So I think you should at least pay my excess and I will be making people aware because it's near Christmas and winter and people will be buying as presents.
I've always bought " yankee "because I assumed they were the best, now I'm not so sure!

I am reading these comments as I was looking for Yankee Candle Address... Same issue here. I have taken pride in using these candles for years. My granddaughter and I were watching a movie and all of a sudden heard a "crash"? It was my Yankee Candle that exploded in my kitchen! Glass everywhere...Thankful we were in my LR. Glass everywhere. I did take a picture. Need to know where to send it.

Yankee Candle Double charge & bad attitude

Good Morning, my wife and I took a two hour ride on 11/10 to shop at your flagship store. The store was very nice and the people working the floor were pleasant, my complaint was at checkout. The associate checking us out had an attitude and when I question her about our order when it seemed high she snap at me. The line of people waiting was long so I did not wish to make a scene or hold it up. I decided to check my order this morning and found that she had charged me twice ($19.99) for one of the ornaments. The transaction number was 109819.

Yankee Candle Candles

I was given a yankee candle with my family's picture on it as a gift and it literally shattered after it had been lit a couple of times. I didn't think anything of it so I just threw it away.
A few days ago I bought a yankee candle pumpkin candle and it shattered the same way the precious candle had done. I have no explanation why this happened but would like to be reimbursed for candles that shattered. I have attached a picture of the most recent incident. The wax has ruined my hardwood floors not to mention some personal items.
Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated.

Yankee Candle Air freshener

Prior to MAy 1, 2021, I had a yankee candle air freshener hanging from a vent in my car ( I don't like them from mirror, too distracting), I removed it on the 1st, on the 2nd of May I noticed what appeared to me my car melting, and discolored. Today I took it to the dealership believing there was a defect with how the dash board was made, according to them, it was caused by an chemical reaction from an outside source such as an air freshener. My car isn't even 3 years old, and no it's damaged and the repair would be at my expense. Very disturbing that a company makes a product for CARS that essentially can, will and does damage them. I would like Yankee Candle to pay for the repair!

Yankee Candle Yankee candle black soot and smoke

Brand new Yankee candle filled room with smoke and soot which daughter had inhaled. It set off all smoke alarms in the house and the whole room needs redecorating. I messaged Yankee but they ignored me until I put photos of damage on social media. Their reply was it was my fault because wick was longer than 3mm. They didn't care about my daughter or her room all they wanted to do was pass the blame and take no accountability. They didn't even ask if my daughter was ok. Seems this is a common fault with their candles and something needs to be done, they are dangerous. I've never had to cut a wick to as short as 3mm and I use candles all the time but my other candle brands are safe unlike Yankee

Yankee Candle Ribbon wick candle

Before going to bed in the early morning I'll let a ribbon Wick Amber in firelight candle I saw that it was a little crazy with the flame so I threw it out and squished down the wick. I was awake for approximately 15 minutes I would think and fell asleep this was 4 AM two hours later my husband yanked open my bedroom door and thought the house was on fire he said that he couldn't even see me the bed is only 4 feet from the door smoke was billowing out all over I had my four Yorkies in there and myself I opened all the windows turned on the ceiling fan close the door and Open the windows in my kitchen and turn down the ceiling fan. I close the curtains in between my dining room and living room and slept on the couch my husband took the dogs to the groomer later that day and when he brought them back I was up I didn't realize that was black all over my face and the two dogs that he didnt Take to the groomer were absolutely filthy they proceeded to go to the groomer the other ones were here I didn't realize the extent of the damage until I went to the bathroom and blew my nose black I looked in the bedroom and everything is covered and such when I started to take pictures and wipe things down a little bit I realized I need Servpro. The sun has extended throughout my entire house it's not as bad in my living room but every room every ceiling every wall and every item that I own is cupboard insert God knows what it did to my airway and to my Yorkies airway for that matter I contacted Yankee candle and was told I was going to get a link that I could send pictures to and place a formal complaint . I hung up and looked for the email and it wasn't there I called back and the company was closed. I do have a second floor and now I am staying up there for everything the smell is horrendous I have the doors open the ceiling fan on and scratchiness in my throat I took a shower and black was everywhere. I have saved my pajama top and the blanket that was underneath the one that I washed I've taken pictures of everything. this needs to be addressed as soon as possible. I am now seeing complaints on the Internet and not knowing if they were handled or not something needs to be done. I have more pictures but this website is not allowing me to add them

Desired outcome: Serve pro cleans up the damage and my rooms and ceiling re painted. All fabrics curtains bedding furniture all needs to be cleaned .Reimbursement for groomers fees and future possible health issues.

Yankee Candle Lost their scent

I used to LOVE Yankee candles and that was the only brand I would buy. 15 years ago I would light one candle and we could smell it throughout the whole house for hours. Now ALL the ones I have bought within the past few years have NO scent while burning. Even in a tiny closed room...nothing. I've exchanged them in store, and asked the saleswoman for specific candles that give the strongest scent. I got the ones she recommended...same problem. A Macintosh candle would smell absolutely amazing and now I can't even smell it. What happened? I have a few more sitting around and I want to just return them but I don't have the receipt.

I just had the same issue using the website yankeecandle.com. I purchased other items but am disappointed in the candles extremely weak scent (8 plus 2 that I had personalized with pictures as gifts)
As well as weak scent, these candles had another very disturbing problem I have never seen. The top of the actual wax candle is bubble and looks terrible like diseased. If these bubbles/bumps were green instead of white-ish plus the color of the candle, they would look moldy. It’s disturbing and I would like to know what happened to them
I should get these candles for a fraction of what I was charged. Thanks for reading,

Yankee Candle Candle soot

I bought a three candle set a Christmas as a gift to my son. Now he has black soot all over everything and of course he's been breathing it! I thought I was buying him nice candles. I have never had this happen with any other candles I've owned. These did not come with the illumilid and he trimmed the wicks and limited burning times as instructed. Now he may lose a deposit on an apartment because of the soot damage. Unacceptable!

Yankee Candle Candles

I have been burning Yankee Candles for more than 30 years. I have always loved the scents and how they fill my home with wonderful smells. My husband and I also own a furniture store, where we also use Yankee Candle jars. During the Christmas season, people have often remarked that our store "smells like Christmas."

Recently, I have noticed that the jar candles do not smell as they once did. I bought several Christmas candles, both for the store and for our home. We could barely smell them, and not a single person remarked about the scents in our store this year.

Being a business owner, I understand that costs rise so that you can can continue in business. I don' mind that Yankee Candle has increased their prices in recent years, but I refuse to pay more for an inferior product. I wasted a lot of money on two Bayberry candles that had little scent, and at least six other types of Christmas candles, that also had little or no scent. I'm not paying to burn wax!

I am very disappointed in this candle because it has no scent. It just smells like burning wax. I have has other Yankee candles that were not the Home Inspiration and they had really good scent. Is it just the HI candles that don't have any scent? This is the 19OZ Holiday Apple Wreath. Can you refund my purchase or send me one that is not the Home Inspiration type?

Yankee Candle sucks!
Point blank.
Tired of doing endless returns.
Shame on me for being a sucker and continuing to buy them even at 10.00 a large jar. You keep having sales yo entice consumers in to get home and light the candles to find no scent being diffused.
Its useless no more unscented candles gor me.
You are either using less oil or a cheaper oil .
So many people are complain ing. I see why you are closing stores. Such a shame ad one csndle was able to smell up my entire apt.
Now with a candle in each room one smells NOTHING!
I will stick to white barn/bath and body works soy candles... Their candles are awesome.
