Car repairs
On December 7th, 2022, I had repairs done on my car, the price of the repairs were $439.39. Acima had listed the lease amount as $489.39 and still have not received a copy of the lease agreement. I have requested a copy a number of times but to no avail. I was finally able to view the agreement and that's when I found out I was being charged more for than for the services received. I have been communicating by phone over the past two months trying to understand why their 90-day payoff total was so different from mine as they didn't match my payments they never once gave me the same answer.
Was told the pay-off didn't reflect a pending payment by one person and told by another that it did. When I finally was able to get online the pay-off amount was always different always higher never lower even after a payment was made. I beginning to feel like they run a fraudulent business and that I've been taken advantage of. When my heater in my car stopped working in December and having been out on an unpaid medical leave since October I needed to use their services. Let the buyer beware of their business practices!

i bought a mattress on monthly payments for 800 with taxes and everything came out to 1050 i already paid 840 in less than 6 months called to [ay it off they told me another 835 dollars i told them i would like to return it they told me i cant return it and wanted to settle for 535 dollars they told me that i could pay if off in 90 day but wanted me to pay them more on top of the 189.60 they already took out .

Refrigerator rental
Moved into a house that had no refrigerator and needed to one so to save time went to rental store to rent a refrigerator until I could buy one. The one I rented was full of cockroaches and I returned the refrigerator and canceled rental agreement. Now they have me owing over 500.00 on my credit. I do not owe them anything. I should have sued the rental company. Take this off my credit

Rented a refrigerator from Buddy's Rental
In January 2015 rented a house that did not come with a refrigerator. Had to have a refrigerator so rented one from Buddy's Rentals San Angelo Tx. Then started looking to buy one. But we noticed that there were cockroaches in the house. None when we moved in. The cockroaches were coming out of the refrigerator. called to have refrigerator picked up. Only rented did not agree to purchase.

Stereo equipment from car toys
On August 14th he signed into, what was thought to be an option of 90 day same as cash, 12 months loan. According to Car Toys my transaction amount was $1549.00. I was approved with Acima in the amount of $1500.00.
On the phone call I paid $77 which was explained of being the fee to start the lease. We walked away with the understanding the 90 dayls would expire 90 days from the time of first payment.
Payments withdraws started August 31 of $307.22. They actual took out $354.
My understanding was this amount covered the 90 options. With intentions to pay what I owe.
December we contacted Acima to determine why they were still taking out payments of $354. This is when we were told the information we didn’t agree to although it was a contract being signed.
Numbers being disclosed was higher then the amount borrow. Contact reference cash price of $1619.20. Operator quoted a $1800 balance.
They informed us the 90 days expired on November 11th. How is that?
Then asked how much can we pay to resolve the 90 they quoted him an additional $1500 on stop of the paym ents they withdrew from him already.

Lease to own agreement
Obtained financing through Acima credit. After numerous months of making payments on time, undue medical hardship happened. I called to discuss with representative what was going on and that there would be no way for me to make the biweekly payment. I asked for assistance on paying $100.00 month. Was informed no, unfortunately that would not be an option. I then asked for the furniture to be picked up. I received an email with directions on taking pics of the said property so that they could examine. I did this numerous times with no avail. I was told that I could not return the property... I would have to donate it and submit a receipt. I explained that I had never heard of that practice when I clearly signed an agreement and it stated in the agreement that at anytime I could return the property. Meanwhile, same answers from representatives. I continue to tell them that I want the property picked up. Ma'am I'm sorry we don't do that. You have been given your options. I finally get ahold to someone that actually had some common sense and was told that he had someone that would be out on Saturday to pick up property. They would be coming from Hwy 412. I said oh, that is great. I live off of that Hwy. They should have no trouble. After waiting for pickup with no avail. I called back and was told by representative that what I was told was not true they don't do that, I would have to donate it. It was the same thing for months. In the meantime, I still have possession of the merchandise, being charged with late fees, interest and every other thing they can charge me with. I asked multiple time for someone that actually was in charge that could make decisions... someone in customer relations. Certainly corporate would like to know how the business is being run. I was told the only people that are over the representative are floor supervisors but they have the same policy. I am like 9 months or longer into this. They have still not picked up merchandise and have charged it off on my credit report. Not to mention they called last week.. very nice gentleman saying that he was in a different resolutions department and very apologetic for them not working with me to begin with and I told them that I would not have a problem paying 100.00 month.. They tried offering me settlement deal but that would be reported to my credit as amount not agreed upon. I told him know, I don't want my credit impacted I am more than willing to pay 100.00 per month until paid in full. To find out that Acima has charged it off anyways and it is on my credit report for something that I tried to prevent from happening before it was ever late. Not to mention past this point. Please see photographs with times and dates as well as the same request with no resolution in store.

Unauthorized Payments
The month of October I called to get some information about my account only to find out I was charged an application fee that was not stated up front. The contract is extremely long to read when they give you a certain amount of time to finish the application before it expires. That's deceptive. You don't get to see that application fee. I'm thinking I'm borrowing 500.00 when I've actually borrowed 600.00 including interest on that application fee.
Desired outcome: Refund that application place it up front so folks can see or take that time limit of so folks can read the entire contract. DECEPTION is every where.

Acima is refusing to accept my Tax Exemption and Payoff
I pastor a church in Oklahoma. I purchased a desk for my office with no problems. I told them when I purchased the desk it was tax exempt. They said that was no problem and sold me the desk. Now for several weeks I have been going around and around with them over this issue. They have my tax exemption on file but are refusing to accept any payments or the payoff without charging tax. I am currently on the phone with them right now and they are refusing to accept my payoff of $308.95 as this is the amount that they sent me in an email. They are increasing the price by $30.00. They want to keep charging me the weekly amount for the payoff. This is not a good business to do business with.
Acima is a crooked and corrupt organization and I would not recommend this company to anyone for any reason. They will not live up to their own agreement for an early payoff.

Fraudulent charges
This is an illegitimate company that operates a scam. We first noticed a charge from acima to our card about a month ago. It was coupled with a series of charges to restaurants that are thousands of miles from where we live. We have also never visited that area. We closed that card and alerted our bank. Every questionable charge was returned.
A week or two later, the Acima charge pops up again. After a conversation with our bank we were told that acima challenged the fraud charge. Because the charge was coupled with a signature and all of our correct contact information the money was returned to them.
I called and was told that the fraud department would be happy to handle it, but not with me. My husband's name is first on the bank account so they treated me as though I had no rights to the account at all. Fine. So my husband called when he was free.
He was on hold and sent from person to person for more than an hour before they sent him to the fraud department. Once there he was told they could not do anything about the money, or give him any other info until he gave them our FULL bank account and routing number. They continued demanding more and more information from him and, ultimately, hung up when he told them that wasn't going to happen.
Every time either of us have had to deal with them they are just horrible. From "hello" they are antagonistic and defensive. They don't listen to the person on the line and pointedly speak over you until you just capitulate and let them be.
We are pursuing what legal means are available to us to retrieve our identities from this company's liberal use.

Lease agreement fraud
I bought a set of tires last week and was told it was 90 days same as cash. The price was 580. Over the weekend (11/12), I received an email stating that due to my "verbal request" the payments would be taken monthly at 114 dollars per month for 12 months.
First of all, I have spoken to NO one at ACIMA because wait times are horrible. Secondly. the total of 1368 was a usurious amount, OVER double the sale price. How is this legal?
I did the online chat and changed the card number to pay 659 dollars. coupled with the "down payment" of fifty dollars the total is 710 dollars. This is absurd! It amounts to 130 "interest" or whatever you want to call it foe less than a week. I have impeccable credit but I now see why they approve most anybody. Their charges cover a lot of bad debt. None of my statement is misleading as was their original offer.

Who ever is trying to use this APP because is trying to buy or pay something you can't afford yet DO NOT, i REPEAT DO NOT! use APP this is completely FALSE ADVERTISING! they tell you in their website "if you pay before the 3rd month you won't be charge and they LIE they do charge "taxes" so they don't fo the money they're are "leasing" you ended up paying a lot more than that BELIEVE ME! Use other APP that they charge you anything or a little bit after and they let you pay them back up to a year or so such as Afterpay, Affirm, etc, these people flat STEALS from you! On top of that their CS is rude and unprofessional they have no manners to deal with frustrated customers that they feel robbed!, all they could say is "The lease contract said it"

applying for buy a Home. and someone used my name Tresa Hartshorn got phone [protected]. and things did not match on acima account. the amount 1,262 talked to supervisor at acima and told me file complaint. I need this taken off my credit for it was not me. acima also asked me questions and did not match. I called police and they need more information. so they can press charges on them to being Tresa Hartshorn. my cell [protected].

My name is Vessie Williams. Someone has stole my identity, and made a purchase and payment by internet from my checking account for the amount of $2,723.14. I don't have an account with ACIMA. The account is #7A20FEBF17B8455. This transaction was made on October 4, 2022. I am reporting this to the Better Business Bureau for fraud activity on ACIMA. I tried calling ACIMA customer service but they put me on eternal hold for 30 minutes, transferred me to another agent who seemed clueless and she had me on hold for 20 minutes and she just hung up. I will get to the bottom of this, and hopefully I can bring criminal charges on ACIMA.
Desired outcome: I want this person criminally charged, and refund my money.

Unfair practices...
I am so disappointed in Acima, and I will be reporting this issue to the BBB and Consumer & Regulatory Affairs tomorrow. I submitted an application via DreamCloud to get one of their mattresses and was approved for $925 on 9/24; I made my initial payment on 9/30. I received my receipt from Acima and received a order detail email from DreamCloud on 9/30 with my order number and delivery details for expected delivery between 9/4-9/6. So, I called DreamCloud this evening and was told that there was no order placed for me in their system and was told to call Acima! I ordered the mattress for my granddaughter who is moving in with us.
I called Acima and was informed that “Acima’s system did not communicate with DreamCloud’s system” so I would have to place the order again. Which meant canceling my existing order, wait for my refund (5-7 business days); but I can reapply soon after the account was canceled. I waited about 20-minutes, reapplied and was denied; so, I call back and the representative had me on trying to figure out why, that I would have to wait 30 days before re-applying! Then I call back and was informed that I had 5 applications in the system (I only applied 4 times once with Nectar and the rest with Acima), and that my new approval amount was only $425! You can’t purchase a mattress for that amount anywhere; I was so frustrated because, I received all these email notifications and to find out that I have to start over because of a glitch in your system. I should not be inconvenienced because of lack of communication; and I should have been notified that there was an issue with my order, I could have resolved this last week.
I think some of your agents should not be misinforming customers about cancellations and inform the customer about how the process works. Had I known if something were to come up that I would have to start the process all over, I never would have applied! I will not be recommending Acima to anyone and I will inform all of my Facebook family and friends to not patronize Acima, stick with Affirm, PayPal Credit or other companies that offer the same service. I would really like a response from someone in your corporate office, and I will be reaching out to Mr. Allred thanks.

Identity theft
Earlier this year, January, 10th 2022. Someone stole my identity and purchased stereo equipment as well as LED lights at Dallas Car Stereo, located at 9110 Bruton rd in Dallas Texas using some form of my personal information. I've never been to Texas and have absolutely no idea how something like this could've happened. And now because of this theft it's on my credit causing my credit score to drop drastically.
Desired outcome: I want this person prosecuted, but more importantly, I want this off my credit

Wheels
I went in to RimTyme in Kentucky to purchase new wheels as one of our wheels had cracked while on the road from Texas. The rims/wheels were put on and we were on our way or so we thought. Upon waking one of our tires was showing low we and figured it must be the tire, we just purchased wheels. Our brand new tires were warrantied so we made it back to Texas and went straight to have it swapped out. Turns out that it wasn't the tire after all the tire center had us look at the recently purchased wheels and they had been repaired/welded and had a crack! Yes, the RimTyme sold us repaired wheels that were damaged. When requesting a refund we were told that because we financed through Acima they owned the wheels and returns should be processed through them. Acima's only solution was a settlement of $668.43+ tax. To say I was disappointing is an understatement. I was left with paying for damaged wheels AND had to purchase a new set (not through them)so that we could have a running vehicle. How is this even okay? Oh and to top it off, they claim they didn't receive the email with pictures of the damage the day it was sent but a day after therefore their auto draft wasn't paused and I was drafted an extra payment that will not be credited towards the settlement! DO NOT FINANCE WITH THEM!

I made an agreement to finance the tires I got with acima and after I gave them access to my account with a 10 dollar fee they got access to a completely different account that I never opened or had access to and started taking out money to pay off the tires. The account has my name but a completely different number and was with the same bank. Still don't know if that account belonged to somebody else. What acima did is fraud and is very illegal.
Blue scooter bike
I purchased a bike for boyfriend as an early birthday present in July 2022. Unfortunately, a car hit him and he ended up in the hospital ICU. The police officer that took the report as we found out after getting released from the hospital and went to the scene of the accident that the bike was not there. The police officer admitted to us that he left the bike at the scene and did not process it as it should have been during an accident. The bike was not held at the tow pound either. I was with my boyfriend when he reported the bike stolen. I submitted the NYPD verification report finally after trying to get it for a month from the criminal records section. ACIMA wants to settle $1,303 payment with me for a bike that I do not have. This is not a resolution or the way to handle a stolen merchandise. WHY AM I BEING CHARGED FOR A BIKE THAT I DON’T HAVE?! I’m from NY but I’m not rich. I’d appreciate stopping payments.

Acima has been extremely unprofessional and punitive, My auto pay was canceled, and the company mixed up my credit cards. I continued to call and update them and they continued with the same mistakes. I paid this account off in full and they reported false information, on my credit report. They canceled my auto pay, without warning, making my account late. I felt like this was retaliations by one of their managers. This account is paid in full. Acima kept making the mistakes, and making me pay over interest, I paid off earlier they didn't process the payment. It has been extremely combative. I want justice.
Desired outcome: I want this company to remove the negative and derogatory remarks that is hurting my credit. I have paid this account off. I want goodwill forgiveness since the majority of the issues were with Acima personnel.

Lease
I have always left all my leases on auto pay. I was traveling and they stopped the auto payments and blamed me for my lease being behind. All my account info says the auto payments are still active but their system isn’t processing them. Customer service was zero help, ended up hanging up on me so I tried chat and the rep ended the chat on me with no resolution.
I have another lease with the exact same payment info that has continued with zero problems.
I will never even consider using them again.
