On the 2nd of June at 10:19 at Ackerman Addo square I saw a boot on sale of R179. I wanted to buy 4 of different boots for R179 each but when I get to the till point the price changed to R249 and I complaint because the price on the tag is R179 so a ladt called Pearl said she can give me the boot for R179 since the it was written on the tag,offline she said she can only sell 1 boot for R179 nand I was very disappointed because they should have removed the prices on the tag. I ended up not buying anything because I was so disappointed.
Desired outcome: I wish this vould be sorted asap.
Customer care
Just lost my phone in Ackermans Rosebank the manager did not even try assisting as I noticed just when I was about to pay. I asked him to check the cameras, and he said we don't have cameras. Imdisgusted by that manager's conduct towards me and how he did not care about my loss that happened on their premises. Take care of your belongings when you at Ackermans Rosebank that just care about the money you about to spend in their store not you as a customer.
Defective phone
My name is Masingati Chilumba. I am resident in Muizenberg, Cape Town. In about the 3rd or 4th week of March 2023 I bought a phone from the Blue Route Mall's branch of Ackermans. It was a Premio(Adapt)X70.
It had issues and I returned it on the 7th day after purchase. The store has my purchase slip which is why I dont know exact dates.
They advised me they had to send it in for repairs and to expect 21 days. I needed the phone and requested a refund or an upgrade but they refused.
I went back to collect the phone and they gave me a new one (which they could have done immediately). I did not want the same brand but they refused to change it. This took place on 25 April 2023.
Within 3 days I had to return it again.
I demanded my money back which under the circumstances is my right and I NEED to have a phone.
They once again refused.
The phone was sent in for 30-40 days for repairs! This is just not acceptable.
I made it clear that I did not want the same brand again.
Today, 27 May I returned to the store and they once again tried to give me the same brand but a new one.
I do not want the same brand. I offered cash to upgrade and I was advised that an upgrade is not possible. They have also refused to refund me my money.
I refused to take the offered replacement phone because it is the same brand and model as the previous two. I have left the phone there and advised that I will return on Monday 29 May for a refund.
This is shockingly bad customer service, it has been 3 months that the store has had my money and I have no phone.
As a consumer I have rights and will invoke my rights by whatever means necessary. Having listened to Wendy Knowlers customer rights programme on Cape Talk I am confident that it is my right to receive a refund under these circumstances.
I am not a wealthy person and travelling backwards and forwards is costing me money, not to mention the stress of having no phone.

Paid up letter
I requested a paid up letter on my account but over six month nothing has come. I had an account with ackermans for a very long time. 2019 i went under debt review and the account was also included. 2020 i decided to pay my own account and settle them. I settle this account in 2021 and since then i have been requesting a paid up letter. I call almost every week but the consultant always say they emailing it but still nothing

I want it back
I returned the clothes to the store 13/5/2023, but pyjama I bought 89,99 was not added in the bag. I went to the store 20/5/2023 to claim it, manger said he will check on the footage after we saw the item on the footage he said I got a discount of R50 from the one of the items I bought and the jacket that I also it was back to normal price from 289.99 to 320,00 so if he can add the discount I got and the increased price for the jacket make that will make the price of that pyjama. I said this doesn't make sense to me and I repeated many times and he got angry and said I am waisting his time. I returned the pyjama it was not a mistake to leave it on the counter.
Can someone pls respond to my application

I applied for an account online, was provisionally approved and was asked to send him bank statements and ID copies. I do so twice now at two stores. Where they scanned me documents and sent it to head office. Been a full week. No response. Did it again this morning at the pavilion branch. Still no response. I find the bad customer service. Disappointing.
Incorrect pricing misleading customers
I visited the paulpietersburg branch and saw that they had items marked down on a railing. When I get to the till to pay the cashier tells me that it is R49.99 and not the price of R25 of which I had seen. He calls for an over ride and after 5 minutes a lady comes of which i presume is a manager , tells me that she cannot give me the item at R25 because the system says R49.99. She was very rude and did not have any sympathy or apologize.
Two pack tracktops
Im very much disappointed on your character tracktops, I bought Paw patrol tracktops for my son he wore them once but you could swear he's been having then for years on the first handwash the design just came out, your product its really poor quality...ackermans used to an amazing store paying with no worries as I knew that whatever I buy will prolong me for a while but you have dropped dismally from the ackermans you used to be

on the 21/04/2023 i made a payment of R1000 to your ackermans account...i have een doing the payment the very same ay however this 1 i did now it cant be located and m getting harrased
i have sent numerous emails , i have called spoken to unprofesional consultant whom at some point told me not to shout at her
i called again spoke to a guy whom they say its a team leader by the name of Anele
i havebeen told till date the the query has been escalated to missingpayments department but till date m still getting called and the team leader Anele couldnt confirm when is the payment its going to be allocated ...but one of the consultant i spoke to advised funds will be allocated in the next 5-7 wotrking days that was on was on the 26 and still now calls and smses are being send ,m being threatened that my account will be handed over but m not gettin any response from you guys

I am experiencing the same issue. I will definitely be closing that account once ai finish paying and I will never shop there again. All because of missing payments and issues with allocation and harassing messages and calls.
Closing prior time
On the 30th of April, Ventersdorp store.
When I Google and check closing time for this branch it said they close at 2. So I rushed to there to pick up a few things, only to be faced with the rude awakening of having the store closes at 1. At 1 exactly I was at the door and the doors were shut, stuff cleaning to show the shop is closed. I asked to speak to 1 of the store assistance who was not even wearing a name tag. I showed her the working hours shown and could they please open for me to buy, she refused and told me they close at 1. the internet is lying to me. The trading hours that are supposed to be visible on the door was nowhere to be found, when I asked so that I can confirm that I'm wrong she told me the windows were washed to it had to be taken off.
I did call the customer care line and they too confirmed that the store closes at 2 on Sundays but the Ventersdorp branch seems to close a whole hour before

Lay buy
I send my sister to collect my laybuy on behalf of me but she was not aware that she needs to bring my id copy the lady that was assisting her she gives her attitude and my sister call me I speak to the lady my question to her I asked what is the solution because i'm very far with work she said I must send my id copy I did that when she went back they refuse to assist she ask to speak to the manager she took her time to come to my sister this happen at tongaat mall and i'm very upset because not a first time I do lay buy with ackermans at cornubia mall and gate way shopping center they never gives such a poor customer service. And she never get the lay buy, she stay far

On the 4th of April I accidently made a payment of R6000 instead of R600 via my banking app
I immediately called and logged the query and I was told what documents I need which was my ID and bank statement I sent it.
Then they needed a letter explaining what happened I did then they need POP which I sent I first sent all the payments I made to Ackermans which also shows the R6000 I sent the POP on the 3rd of May to [protected]@tenacityinc.co.za
I have received 12 emails from your departments but still I dont get any confirmation I am very very unhappy and frustrated today I made 7 calls and every time the consultant tells me to hold on and the call drop I have to call back no one calls me back afetr the call drop. Your consultants are very rude and really not know how to help customers Lee Jane and Asemahle they refuse to give their surnames to me I need my refunds or we can just rather close this account because this is not customer service I cant even speak to your Team Leaders they refuse to come to the phone
Closure of Account without consent
So I've had an account since 2017 and always try my best to keep my account in good standing. When it comes to my credit record, I hold dearly.
My account has been closed for not using the account more than a year. 2 weeks ago I received an sms that my account will be closed on the 11 May 2023 if I didnt make use of the account. Only to find out my account has already been closed last year and not once have I been informed prior to this. Now i must re-apply which I feel is uncalled for. They haven't been transparent about anything. Why not close accounts for people thays in arrears! [censored] that mine has to be closed just because i paid the account in full. Yet on my credit report it shows that its active and affecting my credit score.
Desired outcome: I want my account to be re-opened without me having to re-apply and affect my credit profile.
A gown/sleep wear on promotion
I'd like to ask how possible is it that an item would be on the floor yet when a customer takes it it's said to be invalid... Went to ackermans festival mall wasn't even feeling well that's why i couldn't talk to the manager or take it further, found an item on the floor on markdown aisle and as i asked for assistance the lady looked surprised that there was still such item left and she went on and said she is going to scan it for me since it didn't have a price, she went into the canteen when she came back she said the item is invalid... How is that possible if the item was on floor and this whole time she didn't see the gown there until i had it? She said i should order online since that was the only one left and they can not sell that one to me
Shop closed during load shedding.
Load shedding lasted from 08h00 till 10h00. I was outside since 08h30. I saw personel moving around in the store. They opened at 10h10. I asked the guy inside why the place is closed. He said their computers had a system error. There were no notices about anything. The sign said: "WE STILL TRADE DURING LOAD SHEDDING". This kind of action is not acceptable.
Layby at Ackermans
I went Ackermans in Galleria mall where i made my layby to cancel my layby to get my deposit back of R100 the cashier told me i can not get my deposit back i need to take another item that was worth R100. I was baffled because as a customer i should have free will to shop where i want and not to be forced to purchase items i don't need at that time and that policy is nowhere indicated on the receipt and i was not made aware of this when i made the layby. Ackermans in Galleria mall has thee most terrible service and they do not come up with solutions to help their customers. This experience happened 24th April 2023.
Desired outcome: Please refund layby deposit to customers
All the cashiers at Ackermans in Phuthaditjhaba do not make laybye on one item. They will tell you to take at least three items. My question is why am I forced to take three items where I want only one item that I will afford to pay. Just imagine I'm not working and I want to make a laybye of half boots for R379,99 and be told to put 3 items on laybye. Obviously the laybye deposit is going to increased due to the two item that were added then when will I get money to deposit for 3 items because I only can afford deposit for 1 item. Please don't allow your staff to treat us like rubbish because I know that this is not from head office it is their thing in the store. And even when you ask for the manager you find that she is the one telling staff to do that. If this is what the company do, please write it and put it where it will be visible for every customer to see that no laybye on one item
Customer service at the tills
I went to buy takkies at the store and when I go to pay there was 5 people infront of me on the queue, it was around 16:40 and there was only one cashier who was working and the rest of the other till some where standing waiting to cash-up but the other was just standing and kept on saying the electricity is going off at 17;00. No customer service.

Hi good day,
Write this email with such disappointment. Your staff is an embarrassment to your company. Visited one of your store on saturday (eyethu mall store) and noticed that most of the items i’ve placed on laybuy are now 50% off. I then decided to cancel my laybuy and purchase the items cash. Got to the pay point got to a lady by the name of beatrice. I was the one who greeted first cause I know the hype and energy I normally get from other staff members. She was already annoyed by what I have no idea. I told her that I want to cancel my laybuy and explained the reason why I was doing that. She was so cold and annoyed as I mentioned before, tried to creat conversation with her she didn’t even respond to anything I was saying to her. But was happy to have a conversation with a friend of hers. I do not understand the reason for her to be so rude to me or is because I was cancelling my laybuy but I mean I was exercising my right as a consumer. Through out the entire transaction she was just “moody” with me. I didn’t want to make it a big deal cause mybe she has a personal problems which I still believe they have nothing to do with me. I have the right to be treated good and valued as a customer that brings money into the organisation. I got so annoyed when I wanted to place a laybuy again on the items that were not on sale and she told me I cannot. Firstly the ladies that works there would start of explain the pros and cons of cancelling a laybuy and also come up with a solution of the situation I was facing, but with her she was unbothered and not willing to assist me in any kind of a way.

Service complaint
I went to Thulamahashe mall on Tuesday 18 April 2023 just after mid day to lay-by winter clothes. As I was busy picking I came across a set for new born babies which I loved and it was the only color left which I loved, the other was grey and yellowish. When I got to the till, the cashier noticed that it did not have a price, she went to check if there was another one she could use to scan but there wasn't. When she came back she mentioned that it was not the first time the set had to be returned back to the shelf and my question was as soon as you noticed it had no price why was it returned back to the shelf because obviously we will love it and want to buy it? She then asked me what do we do, I posed the question back to her because I'm a customer and obviously I took the item because I love it and her response was it's impossible for us to sell it because it does not have any code, non what so ever. I insisted on having the item on my Lay-by, she had to call her supervisor. The supervisor took a picture of the item went to a whatsapp group and said she sent it to other shops so they can check the price for her and that she was going to call me back since I left my details. Up until this day I have not received any call from the shop. I also requested that upon my return may I please get all my items in on position (bag they use to put in for Lay-by) because I am heavily pregnant I don't want to be going up and down again looking for the items because if they separate them or take them back to the shelves there's high chances that I won't find them again or the sizes will be finished.I am very much disappointed because even if they could not find the price for the item they were at least supposed to call me and notify me so I can decide on what to do because remember that was not the only item I wanted to lay by. My current state does not allow me to be going up and down
