I booked a ticket with cleartrip.com for a flight from Guwahati to Colombo( with layover Chennai) which was to depart grom Guwahati at 18:25 hrs on 22nd Nov 2024. I tried web check in for the flight on 21st Nov 2024 only to find that the pnr(5Q4643) was showing invalid. I called clear trip and air india both and they said that the web check in can be done at the airport.
Arrived at the airport at 16:15 hrs and headed to check in counter of Air India express. The person at the counter said that the PNR was invalid. He then asked his seniors and then it was found that the flight has been cancelled more than 2 weeks ago. There was no intimation regarding that to us. Moreover the connecting flight ( Chennai to Colombo) was right on schedule. We tried and requested for a flight so that we could reach in time as we had bookings in Colombo. As my wife was sick with severe spondilytis we couldnot take the alternative that was provided which had a 24 hrs layover in Delhi. We had to cancel the trip thanks to Air India Express' appalling service. Now to make matters worse I m not getting my refund as it seems there is a lack of communication between Cleartrip.com and Air India express. Get me my money back ASAP.

I can certainly understand the frustration regarding your cancelled flight and the lack of adequate communication from Air India Express. It is commendable that you managed to figure what had gone down, though it strikes me rather odd that you or your agency weren’t informed in advance. And its rather unfortunate to note that the alternative solution which was medically impossible was indeed put up and then of course not getting any money back has complicated things even more.
This is something that I recommend you to talk to both Air India Express and Cleartrip regarding the cancellation and make it clear the inconvenience that have been caused and in turn demand your money back.
