I bought tickets online and was charged twice
my wife and I are seniors and bought tickets online to see ELVIS. I received a confirmation number for June 25th at 12:45. we went to AMC theater in Brick N.J. 08723. I showed my confirmation number and was told they had no record of it and that other people had the same problem. I was asked for the credit card that i used and gave it to him. he ran it through a machine and handed me two tickets. I went online to check how much I payed and I see that I was charged double. I want a refund . the confirmation number is [protected] seats were F9 and F10. my phone number is 732/477/0343. thankyou. Donald Cook 142 Hollywood Drive Brick, N.J. 08723
Desired outcome: I was charged $23.20 should have been $11.60 please refund me
Objectionable, foul movie preview before our pg-13 movie
We arrived around 3 pm to watch the 3:30 showing of Elvis 6/24/22. In the middle of the previews, an inappropriate gay movie review was shown that lasted way too long, ending with one man flat on top of the other on a blanket in a public setting, kissing, and a group of other men seeing them and saying "Cool", laughing and walking away. This gay review had nothing to do with the Elvis movie and should not have been included in the reviews. We should not be forced to see this with a PG-13 movie. Please remove it and keep family friendly movie reviews appropriate.
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response.
Theater temperature and consession
Went to AMC in Corpus Christi Texas and the theater was unbearably HOT, we sweated throughout the movie. We saw Elvis which is a 2hr and 38 minute movie! Management was informed but nothing was done.
We bought popcorn and drinks, none of the soda machines had ice! Out of 6 soda machines no ice! This is not unusual in this theater, we went last week and not only did they NOT have ice, but they were out of a lot of different flavors of soda. Before that we went a few weeks ago and same situation with the ice and soda.
I think that is ridiculous! Unfortunately that is the only AMC theatre in my city so what is the point of us being alist members?
Desired outcome: I want management to fix the issues
A-List
I moved to DE and there are no good AMC theaters in the state. The closest with IMAX and DOLBY is in Cherry Hill, NJ. My AMC Studs Membership # is:
[protected]. Once moved, I updated info in AMC studs (new email [protected]@gmail.com & password) and used it to check out IMAX and DOLBY at the Cherry Hill, NJ AMC theater (no problems). After making this long journey twice, I decided it was not something I wanted to continue. So today, tried to enter my AMC Stubs account and cancel my membership. The AMC online site has always been a real problem to use, and now it will not let me enter, recognize my new or old email or give me a change to my password. My old account was [protected]@yahoo.com in Lexington Park, MD 20653.
Desired outcome: Cancel my membership and stop charging my credit card!
Loud af
Yesterday was the LAST time I have gone to the movies at ANY AMC theaters. Mind you I had been excited for them sticking it to Citadel and Co. BUT - their services TRULY DO SUCK. When seeing "A quiet place" people were making SO. MUCH. NOISE eating out of their food containers... for Christ sake does packaging have to be this cheap super crinkly plastic AMC?!?
The volume at yesterday's movie was so unbearably loud that my ears today are still hurting. Several people complained and the manager turned the volume down - and then... BACK UP! Several people walked out, I finally did, too.
Looks like that AMC doesn't need customers anymore - OK then, you got it!
Desired outcome: Let the company go bust. Looks like Citadel had it right.

1). Came to see a 11:15a Movie at 11:18a - there was no food ready. I was told I had to wait 45mins.
2). After order almost $40 worth of food. I was told that I had to get out of line to get a Guess Card. No cash, ApplePay was accepted. Went over to file a complaint w/ Guess Srvcs. Their reply was staffing just came in. The impression was they didn’t care.
3). Request to redeem my points, Guest Srvcs replied that I had to use the App.
4). Called Fandango. Stayed on automated call x 1 hr ea time. Rcv’d a returned call from someone who immediately hung up the ph. After I said I wanted to file a complaint.
5). Went over to station to get butter. One station was out. The other pump gave me 5-6 squirts
Out of Many Staple Concessions, Unkempt
On Tuesday, July 14, 2022, we went to see a movie at 7pm. The unapologetic staff informed us that they did not have popcorn, they did not have pretzels, they did not have a working icee machine, most of the soda machines were not stocked and judging by the filthy floors, they did not have vacuums or brooms. The entire facility was dirty and sticky with over...
Read full review of AMC TheatresAMC theaters employees' work performance
Hi,
I've been going to your AMC Rio theater in Gaithersburg, Maryland since 2003 (Bruce Almighty). I'm sure I've gone dozens of times over the years. I prefer it to a closer movie theater since parking is free and I can see a late movie without having to worry about my car being locked in overnight. As per some OCD tendencies, I always stay until the end of the credits. In addition to learning new actors from the cast, I like to see how many songs are in the movie and see what the MPAA number is. (There really seem to be way more odd numbered ones that evens, weirdly enough, but whatever.) And, of course, if there's anything at the very end of the credits, I don't want to miss it.
So, in other words, I like to watch 100% of the movie. (Yeah, it's annoying when employees are walking past the very bottom of the screen and blocking part of it, but I accept that.) I like to go to late night showings alone during the week when there a few to no other people in there, which is probably for the best. And this worked out extremely well for watching many, many movies at your theater. Until last night.
Last night, I went to see the 10:30 pm showing of Jurassic World: Dominion (in IMAX). I watched the whole movie and I was sitting in my seat during the credits when all of a sudden the movie stopped. I yelled multiple times for them to just start it back up again, with no response. Finally, a manager (she said her name was Tiffany) and another employee came in. So I voiced my concerns to them as well. Tiffany's argument was that there was "only 30 seconds" left in the credits at that point. She claimed that she couldn't start it back up again except from the very beginning, and used the fact that I was "on my phone" (which would've been hard to see from the projection booth anyway) as justification for stopping it early, despite the fact that I had not left my seat. So, I explained that I paid to see 100% of the movie, and, the service I had paid for not having been adequately performed, I asked for my money back. She refused to give my money back and she even threatened to call the police on me.
Suffice it to say that, not only am I outraged, but I'm perplexed. I don't care how late the showing is and how much the staff really wants to get out of there at the end of the workday-- waiting "another 30 seconds" for the movie to actually end isn't going to kill anyone, and is barely even going to save them any time wrapping up-- they can take a quick nap during the movie for all I care, if they're really that tired.
Though this wouldn't have beared complaining about on its own, I should also note that, since a movie starting at 10:30 actually starts at about 10:50-10:54 (which is what it is), sometimes I like to get to the theater during that 20+ minute window and buy my ticket then. (There's no sense in buying a ticket early for a show that's not going to be anywhere near sold out until I'm completely sure I'm going to it.) When I got there last night, the gate was already down and the staff member who checks tickets was telling me that they close at 10:30, so I couldn't buy a ticket anymore. I noted that they couldn't be closed since that movie hadn't even started yet. I started the process of just buying it on my phone instead, and then, suddenly, he realized that the kiosk there worked just fine. So I bought it through the kiosk, and, in fact, I was actually thankful to him about that.
Taking these two interactions together, I'm led to believe that the workplace culture there-- at least on Monday nights-- is one where everyone wants to wrap up and get out of there as soon as possible. This is so extreme that, as you can see, they'd rather attempt to turn away a customer or turn off a movie early even to literally save themselves less than a minute. Whoever all creating this workplace culture there with no regard for customers should not be working in any job that involves customers. I expect some appropriate recompense for me personally, and, even just for your own benefit, you should address this mindset your employees have developed there.
Sincerely,
Anthony
Desired outcome: Please refund, please provide additional recompense as appropriate, and please address your corporate culture. I'd also appreciate an apology.
Refund issues.
I purchased 2 tickets for Dr. Strange 2 on Saturday, June 11th, to see the Sunday, June 12th showing at 5:40pm. My ticket confirmation number is [protected]. When I ordered the tickets, I had them texted to me with my phone number and didn't put my email address. Now when I try to get a refund, because I'm not going to be able to make it, I can't find the tickets because it needs an email address. How do I get a refund without the email address registered to the ticket order?
Desired outcome: I would like a refund for the ticket order. The confirmation number is above.
Faulty imax projection with burnt out bulbs
I pay a premium to watch movies and my expectations are simple: clear, larger than life images, and great sound.
AMC Niles, IL has been compromising on the projection quality by continuing to use burnt out or expired (not sure what the precise technical term is) bulbs while charging premium ticket fare.
I spoke to a theater personnel who told me that they are going to replace them in a week.
But is it ethical practice to charge premium fares in exchange for subpar service?
Tickets
I purchased five tickets for jurassic world dominion and the power went out twice and they closed the theater and had everyone auditorium at one time trying to get vouchers when I called back later I was told I couldn't get a refund or voucher I got too see 30 minutes of the movie before the power went out twice not satisfied how this was handled and bad customer service I have enclosed pictures of my purchase today and can't get no one from corporate to answer
Desired outcome: I want a refund for my tickets as they had to close due to power being out
Phone use in auditorium
I went to see movies on the following dates at Matron in San Francisco -
5/2 The Lost City 6PM Pacific Time
5/26 Downton Abbey 5:15 PM PT
6/1 Doctor Strange 4:00 Pm PT
6/10 Jurassic Park 1:00 PM PT
- on all four dates unable to enjoy the movie due to people using their phones while the movie was playing. Today was the first time that I went to customer service and complained. I took care to inform the person sitting there that I know this is not their fault.
An employee as "Anne" wasn't interested I asked for a refund, which she could not do, and when I asked for a voucher she told me she couldn't do that either.
I asked for a manager and she said that she was the manager.
The attached jpeg is Anne
Desired outcome: 1. refunds or vouchers for the four movies mentioned.2. Discipline your incompetent, unkempt employees.3. Install cell and WiFi signal blockers in the auditoriums.4. Hire qualified personnel as managers5. Conformation
AMC Theater - Manitowoc, Wisconsin
We have recently been to the Manitowoc theater twice within 4 days. The condition of the facility, especially the restrooms, was absolutely horrible. The first visit was on a Saturday, so I thought perhaps there wasn't enough staff to keep up with things during the day. However, we went again today (Tuesday) and the facility was even worse. The restroom I used on both occasions was absolutely disgusting. Toilet paper dispenser broken off the stall walls, paper toweling dispenser broken and hanging open, no soap, hair; dirt; filth, all over the floor. Yuck!
I know everyone is experiencing shortage of staff, but this is a matter of health. We are still dealing with Covid and if the theater is going to be open to the public it should be kept clean.
Thank you for your time.
Desired outcome: Clean your facility.
Customer service/food
I took my son and his best friend to see Dr. Strange this past Sunday, 6/5/22, at Thoroughbred 20 in Franklin, TN. This was our first movie outing since Covid and thought it might be nice after a very stressful Saturday. I pre-ordered the tickets and wanted to pre-order the food but wasn't able to according to the website. We arrived early enough to go to...

Online ticket purchase resulted in being double charged. After first purchase went through, no confirmation was made either by text or email. Did not receive order number so could not cancel. Put through another order and received confirmation and was charged. Tried to call AMC using 888 number on the web but said it wasn’t a working number. The movie theater gave me credit for $29.45 but said they didn’t know why I was charged $39.40 and could not pay me the difference. Would you please refund to me the $9.95 difference?
Sincerely, Cathy Burns
Desired outcome: Refund of $9.95
No air conditioning and rude managers
Went to the movies to see and the there was no Air Conditioning. The outdoor temperature was 95 degrees and the theater was very uncomfortable. I approached management and was disappointed at how rude and non-responsive they were. Two managers who refused to provide information for me to make a formal complaint told me I could leave if I wasn't comfortable. One assistant manager (Joe) walked away while I was speaking to him. I suggested to the more senior manager that customers should be informed about the A/C prior to purchasing tickets. He (Josh) rolled his eyes and muttered something in the direction of another employee who was out of hearing range. Fortunately, the concession stand and box office were very polite and professional and didn't follow their managers' example.
Desired outcome: Make information's in question could not control available in theaters to file formal complaints and hold managers accountable for behavior. the managers could not control an A/C outage, but they can control their behavior and attitude.
Customers stole our seats a d got stuck with broken recliners
I have made numerous attempts to make a complaint about my recent experience at the AMC Maple Theater I pre-ordered tickets for my fiance about a week and a half ago for the 3:30 time for yesterday and unfortunately he got out of work late so we switched the time to 7:15 and we got our tickets and pick their seats when we arrived to the theater we went to find our seats and someone was sitting in our seats in the movie had already started so they wouldn't move so we had no choice but to sit in literally the only two seats that were available and basically after about 15-20 minutes we figured out why the people set in our seats was because their seats the recliners were broken so literally the only reason why I purchased tickets for this theater is to be able to use the recliner and on top of that this was a gift for my fiance. Who didn't get to enjoy the movie at all because one we couldn't recline it was very uncomfortable and he didn't bring his glasses because the see if we picked would have been okay but since we didn't get to sit in our seats he barely even got to see the movie I made a complaint on your website and also made a complaint that night so the lady at the counter and basically all she told me was that the people that were cleaning would check the seats and make sure it never happens again but it really doesn't do anything for me so I mean I paid full price when I could have gone anywhere else but I chose your theater specifically and neither one of us got to enjoy it so I'm hoping maybe there's something that you can do so we can come back and see the movie and enjoy it and continued to keep our business with you
Desired outcome: Nothing do e
Sales not getting proper change. Being shorted!
Sunday evening movie visit. Complaint in regards to service on Holiday weekend.
Showplace 12 TH IN
Paid for tickets via cash for 4 & did not receive proper change. Questioned sales attendant and told her she shorted me…. She said they were rounding change. First this is [censored]. Second Keeping more money than cost of tickets is not right by any means. It wasn't change coins it was dollars shorted.
Third, I said I wanted a discount then at the popcorn stand to recoup my change. She said no!
I asked to talk to a manager she said she was.
I haven't been to the theatre in a very long time. This is a primary reason theaters are dying off.
Why pay a lot of money to be treated so rude in front of other customers.
Desired outcome: 4 free tickets and apology
Worker complaint at Mayfair Mall Location (WI)
I visited this theater with my boyfriend’s family to watch the new Top Gun Maverick movie, however one of the worker most definitely racially profiled me. I was the only Asian among my group, yet neither my boyfriend nor his family had to unfold the blankets or had their bags checked, while I did. Sure it could’ve been random, but I noticed no one else got checked and I have never had an issue here besides with that one worker. It’s the fact that the worker keep giving the vibe of how Asians will always sneak food in. Don’t allow your workers to walk around stereotyping every different race.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology and for the company to look further into this issue and look at who they are hiring. Please don’t allow you workers to stereotype different race walking into the theater
AMC Showplace 11 Bloomingtom IN
This is an ongoing problem, since at least January 2022.
Bloomington IN Showplace 11 is showing the MET HD in the wrong aspect ratio, resulting with images stretched sideways. I complained about it after Euridice. Now, Turandot had the same problem. The theater manager says that it's the feed from the MET.
It's impossible, that the whole world has the same problem.
Please contact the theater management and help them fix it.
And get back to me with the solution. The next MET HD is coming next week.
HD is a joke in this situation.
Desired outcome: FIX the aspect ratio in this theater
