women's bag online service
I ordered an bag from www.Belk.com in 05/22, they said I will get my bag in 4-7 business days. But until 05/25, there is no status changed. Because I am leaving next week, so I contacted them and checked the order. After 2 hours, they sent me an email to tell me the item is unavailable, and the order was cancelled. I called them, they said they have no item in dock, and the money was not charged.
I need the bag eagerly because it is the present for my wife, and I have told her about it. How can I place an order when the item was unavailable? Why did they do nothing for 4 days until I contacted them and asked them to check? They are arrogant and wasted my time. They did nothing just said "i apologize" when the bad thing was done.
What is more important to me is when I checked my account, my balance of my credit card is not changed until now and there is no money returned. It is $363.95! Are they trying to stealing my money?
Harassment by assistant manager
My husband was outside the Rock Hill store with our pet parrot on his shoulder around 2pm on Friday afternoon, May 6th, waiting for me to make my purchases as he had done at that store and many others in the past when the assistant manager asked him what business he had there. He told him he was waiting on his wife who was in the store. Manager said okay and left. Shortly after security guards approached stating the manager complained and the guards asked my husband to leave the premises! Many stores welcome husbands to wait outside as their wives will take more time therefore making more purchases. Most even have benches to sit. That same manager approached me in the store and asked me about the shoes I had in my hand and the skirts I was looking at which I felt uncomfortable and stage as no man had ever approached me in a store and asked me about the items I was purchasing. I felt targeted and harassed in a store I normally spend hundreds of dollars in yearly. I have submitted a complaint directly to Belk, as they should know how their employees are mismanaging your stores and harassing good paying customers. My bird is very well behaved, on a leash for his safety (not for others) and has been welcomed at many, many businesses. And above all, he was not in the store, but outside in a public area. He wa not selling anything or causing any kind of issue. Just waiting on his wife to return. My husband was bothering no one! Unfortunately our wallets will never darken Belks doorstep again, as we will go where we are welcomed patrons. Managers on a power trip are very bad for business!
loss prevention staff
Was detained by threats of physical force by loss prevention at this location. Accused of concealing goods, and also had so many civil rights trampled on while this happened it was unreal.
I asked before they searched me I wanted a police officer or another employee present. I did not get that. I was then threatened when trying to leave with bodily harm if I tried to leave again.
After her illegal search she could not find anything on my body or in my purse. The lp officer has taken things too far and is playing with fire when taking away a humans basics rights.
I tried to complain to management (Melissa redman) who just told me she could not do anything. I also asked for the loss prevention officers name to file a complaint with belk corp offices but was also refused that due to protecting her physical safety. If anything my safety and rights were violated. However they protect her?
So wrong on many levels.
Tried to complain to belk corp loss prevention services but cannot get a call back. It is an awful embarrassing experience as it is, but to be falsely accused and treated with such little respect is even worse.
Belk in sanford nc really needs a reality check and I will not stop until I get answers.

estee lauder promo
I am very unhappy with a recent order and the attempts to resolve this issue. I ordered a foundation during a promotional event in which I was to receive a free gift with purchase. I was within the limits of the promotion and received the foundation I ordered at a price of $34.88 total. The foundation arrived quickly and my card was charged the amount. However, no promotional item. No explanation. I waited a week thinking they would ship the promised item when it became available. Upon checking on the item I found that they were "out of" the promotional item and it had been "cancelled"! No rain check, no voucher, no apology. I called to ask if they could send a voucher so that I could take it to a local makeup counter that sold estee lauder and pick up the promo item locally. The customer service rep did not have that authority. Bottom line: I think it is dishonest to knowingly charge a customer and send a product without notifying them that the promo item is cancelled and won't be arriving nor replaced! It is a tactic to get your $ up front and then not provide what was expected. Estee lauder runs these promos to get people to order their product-which is the exact reason I waited to order my make up from belk. I should have been told the promo item wasn't available and given the opportunity to cancel the order! They knew they didn't have it when my card was charged. If this isn't resolved I can choose to order all makeup from another retailer such as dillard's profitts or similar. I will not make any clothing purchases or otherwise at belk, either. This is such a small issue that they could easily remedy-i find it ridiculous that I even have to jump through these hoops when they could settle this so easily.

I had never heard of belk since I live in california. Someone told me about a great sale they were having online so I placed an order.
My total was $123. They charged my credit card the correct amount.
Next day I get an email from my credit card saying that belk tried to charge me $112 but it was declined due to insufficient funds on my card.
I didn't think much of it until 6 days later, I get another email saying that belk tried again to take out $112 and it was declined again.
I call belk and and they... Let's just say it was like dumb and dumber. It was like talking to a 5 year old. They had no record that they were trying to take out an additional $112. They said they only charge credit cards when an item ships. I said yes, you did charge me, you did ship my order but you guys are continuing to try to charge me! They played stupid and I can't fix stupid so I had to call my credit card company, report my card missing and get a new one. It's a good thing I didn't use my debit card because the charge would have gone through.
I've since gone online and found multiple similar stories! One even had the same $112 amount!

I was shopping for a purse this weekend and the sales lady in the purse department was putting purses behind the counter instead of selling them to customers that were wanting them at that moment. If these customers weren't going to buy them at the moment then the sales lady should have sold them to customers that was going to buy them at that moment. I will never shop at Belts again and I have & will continue to share this experience with others. This isn't the way to do business.
I placed an order on their website, ordered a Levian chocolate diamond ring worth several hundred dollars. They had 3 left in stock, and I got an email confirmation saying my order was placed. The next day, they canceled my order due to unknown circumstances, and on the website it still shows the ring is in stock. I called and spoke with a Belk representative and the woman said they were out of stock on the ring and my card wouldn't be charged, but it already has been charged, and the ring still shows its in stock online! Horrible customer service. I should have paid attention to all of the horrible reviews online before I made a purchase. The woman from Belk told me to then call my credit card company myself and have them cancel and refund my charge. Unbelievable.

I made an order and purchased some items from Belk on December 26, 2015. The next days I received a call from my bank and was told that my card was charged again. I contacted Belt customer service and they said that my bank stole my money and they have nothing to do with it. That was the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! They charged me when I made an order and charged again when the order was shipped. Later I got a message from them stating there was a mistake in their system and I'll be refunded soon. Well, that never happened. I'm still waiting for my refund. What a shame for a company.
I made a Belk online purchase for $86.55. The next day, I looked at my bank's account and it was charged twice for $86.55 and once for $40.71. I was told by two Belk representatives that they hold the charges until the order ships. And one of the charges drops off. Okay, moving on to Monday, I notice ANOTHER charge from Belk for $40.71. At this point I called my bank. They told me that Belk was in the process of refunding the $86.55 charge back to my account. I asked about the $40.71 charge and the bank rep told me that they do not see where Belk is in the process of refunding my money. I then called Belk and was told that those were shipping charges (WRONG)! If I had to pay $40 to ship two pairs of discounted shoes, then I would have gone to a Belk store. Anyhow, after putting me on hold three times, I was told that my order shipped in two shipments; therefore, my card was charged twice. And will be charged again for $45.84. But, that explanation doesn't explain the charges of $86.55 (twice)! I understood the $45.84 and $40.71 charges, but I am owed another $86.55. In closing, my card was be charged four times.

I frequently order items at Belk.com, and when the order is placed, they are in stock. However, two or three days later I will get an email saying that the item has been cancelled from my order because it is not in stock. This is infuriating! Now I have had the same kind of experience when I placed an order in the shoe department at the store! My size was not in stock, so the clerk checked other stores and ordered it online for me. She said I should receive it in 2 or 3 days. Ten days later, the item still has not arrived. It says a label was created, but it is not moving anywhere. I called customer no-service, and they said I had to wait 10 business days for the item to show up before they will credit my card or re-ship. I asked them to go ahead and re-order the item today, but now she says the item is out of stock! Why do you tell people you have products that you don't have! I have never had this experience at any other store before. At other stores, you can't even put an item in your cart if they don't have it in stock! I am beginning to question why I continue to do business with Belk!

Dec 1 St I tried to order these Tumblers from BELK.com At check out System replied back my MasterCard was declined (even when i had Money on the Account ) Went in to NORDSTROM.com and placed the order instead, no problems at all. Next day I checked my bank account and realized BELK are holding money for the Tumblers on my Account . I wrote to them and asked why and told them to release my Fu Ds immediately . They responded back that they are using a third company in this matter and my Funds will be released in 5-7 days . I was approached by one of the associates
She told me that I had a tag hanging out from the top that I was wearing. I said I didn't know and I reached for a pair of sisors to cut the tag off. She asked me whether I had just bought the top which I replied no and if she didn't believe me she could check the cameras. I feel that it was none of her concern when I bought it. She stood there while I cut the tag and showed her that the top was bought from macy's. Her comment was she wanted to know if I knew the tag was showing and when I said no why didn't she just walk away. I am an elite customer of belk and you can check that for a fact. I was humiluated in your store in myrtle beach, sc (Briar cliff) today december 17th around 2:39 pm and this is while I was paying for my purchase. I am 76 years old do I need to be treated like a thief just because a tag is hanging from a top that my grandaughter gave me that I fail to remove before entering belk. Don't think so.

12/13/15 my complaint is about the store in snellville georgia. I held on hold for 15 mins while a employee waited on other customers instead of telling me to call back she was busy. I just need to ask a question. And my other complaint is if im only doing a exchange why can my rewards dollars stay I earned them didnt i, because my exchange item was the same price. They say they re just like money but thats not exactly true if I cant get credit for them or a even exchange, which is all I wanted to do. Would never had gotten what I brought jadore gift set, had they had what I wanted that day and that was the single bottle. And thats another thing why dont they have something on the website that tell you its on back order. I thought because it wasnt there that they had discontinue selling the single bottles. The website needs a overhaul on what ive experience online and read on here. Dont think ill be ordering online and will probably not recommend anyone to do so either. There have been several times in the last couple of months when we asked the cashier at what price is an item is ringing up at, to make sure we were getting the correct discounts. We were told on one occasion "the sale price". Another time we were told, "you'll see when we are done". Since the cashiers appear to be bothered by these questions, Belk should consider having checkout screens that face the customers.

On Friday, October 23, 2015, my husband and I went shopping in the Asheville, NC Belk store. Little did we realize there was a big sale going on! We knocked out a lot of our Christmas list. We ended up spending around $1000 and had two buggies full of merchandise. There were so many nice employees in several departments, the men's department and especially the shoe department, that were so helpful! But it just takes one person to give you a bad experience! As we were leaving the store with our purchases in the two shopping carts the sensors on the carts set off the alarms! We did not realize there were sensors on the carts. Anyway we waited there for five minutes or longer for an employee or security because we figured there was a sensor still on some of the clothing. A lady named Kathleen came from the direction of the purses and informed us we couldn't take the carts out. So we asked if someone could help us take the packages out. She said no. Then my husband asked if she could throw away a drink bottle so he could gather up some of the packages. She told him no and to just drop it there on a display. It wasn't only her answers but her attitude. She acted like we were nasty or beneath her. You see, I am a quadriplegic in a power wheelchair and my husband has COPD. My nurse was with us also. It is hard enough for my husband to walk to the car much less to carry packages. Kathleen left and we were struggling when a young lady, an associate, from the shoe department came to our assistance and helped my husband to the car with most of the packages. As my nurse was carrying more packages one of the sensors went off again. The girl from the shoe department told us just to wait there and she would check the packages for the sensor when she came back. Before she got back in Kathleen came back again and snatched the package out of my nurse's hands and took it back to her department. She didn't ask for us to follow her or offer any explanation. The girl from the shoe department came back in and wanted the package from us and we told her Kathleen had taken it. She apologized to us for that experience. I thanked her for all she had done to help us. Kathleen brought the package back to us and shoved it in my nurse's hands and said "you're welcome" and stomped back off towards her department without any further explanation. I thought you should know this because an associate that has an attitude like that can really hurt your store. I am sure we are not the only customers she has treated badly.
shipping of items
I am appalled with the shipping from Belk Department Store. It is preventing me from shopping on-line. I received a shipment today, 10/27/2015, of Xmas gifts I had ordered which were stuffed in a plastic shipping bag with hangers attached. It was horrendous! I have never received such a mess! Not only were they stuffed in a plastic bag to ship, but inside, ladies slik PJ, a ladies golf cap, men's golf shirt and a pullover casual shirt were all included in this. You would have thought they could have taken the time to fold these items and then shipped them in their plastic shipping. I will think twice before ever placing another order on-line from them. There is not enough staff in your store. My mother has to walk around the store to find someone so she can pay her bill. She is 75 years old and she is thinking about paying off the balance and no longer shopping @ your store. She can always, always find someone @ Harris Teeter and @ Walmart. online order not honored
I submitted an online order on Belk.com on 12/31/14 after being given an online promo code for 75% off my order. I placed my order and received a confirmation email with an order #, telling me my order would ship within 48 hours. Over 48 hours later I receive an email from Belk telling me that my product was unavailable and that my order was cancelled. I contacted them since the promo code is no longer valid after 12/31/14. I have since been told that they wont honor my code because that code was for in store only at a store that was closing. I have several friends that placed the same order I did at the same time and their orders were honored and have since been shipped out. How is this fair practice at all? You cant pick and choose who you honor an order with. If that was even the case, how did the website allow the code to be applied and give the discount? I'm beyond angry and will do whatever I can to have this fixed or I will make sure the world knows how they operate.
