Belk's Customer Service Needs Improvement for Paperless Option
So, I was trying to go paperless with Belk, but somehow I messed up and couldn't change it back. The website said to call if I made a mistake, so I did. But when I called, the customer service rep was no help at all. She kept saying that I wasn't paperless, even though I got an email saying that I was. I tried to explain the situation, but she just didn't get it. She even said that she couldn't fix my computer from where she was! I had to tell her that it wasn't my computer that was the problem, it was their system. But she still didn't understand. I asked to talk to a manager, but they were just as bad. They didn't seem to know anything about the 15-day waiting period for changes to take effect. And they were really rude to me, telling me to have a nice day in a sarcastic way. I was really disappointed with the customer service at Belk. They should train their reps and managers better. It's not that hard to have a process in place to help customers with problems like this. I hope they improve their service in the future.
Belk's Customer Service and Website Need Improvement
I gotta say, I'm not too impressed with Belk. Like some other folks have said, their customer service and website could use some work. I tried to order something yesterday morning, but the website was all messed up. Finally, I managed to get my order in last night, but then I got three different confirmations with three different order numbers. What the heck? I couldn't cancel the orders because I didn't have an account and the customer service department was closed. So I had to wait until this morning to call them.
The first guy I talked to said they were still having computer problems, but he took down my info and the order numbers and said he'd try to cancel two of the orders. But then I didn't hear back from him. So I called again and got this lady who tried to blame me for the whole thing. Like, come on, lady, it's not my fault your website is jacked up. I talked to her supervisor, but he wasn't any help either. Long story short, all three orders got charged to my credit card and they've already shipped. Now I gotta wait until my daughter sends back the two orders we don't want before I can get a refund. This is ridiculous!
I used to be a loyal Belk customer, but after this mess, I don't think I'll be shopping with them again. It's like they don't care about their customers anymore. They must be making so much money that they don't need to bother with good customer service. What a shame. So long, Belk.
Belk Credit Limit Lowered and Poor Customer Service Experience
So, I was just minding my own business when I got a notification from my credit monitoring company that my credit limit was lowered by Belk. I mean, what the heck? I've been a loyal customer and they even promoted my membership, but now they go and lower my limit by $400. I'm only $40 away from my limit now, which is going to hurt my credit score. It's just not fair!
And don't even get me started on the shipping. It took over 2 weeks to get my last order, and when it finally arrived, the package had to be returned to them by Fed Ex because the label was unreadable. I mean, come on Belk, get your act together!
And to top it all off, when I contacted customer service about not receiving a packing slip with my purchase, they refused to send me a label and instead sent me a copy of my order confirmation. I was out of town where there is a Belk store, so I decided to return the items in person. But when I got there, the customer service associate told me that she couldn't use that paper and I would only get a certain amount back, which was $40 less than what I paid. It's not my fault they didn't include a packing slip!
Thankfully, another associate stepped in and let her know that since I used my Belk Card, she could process the return through that and I got my full refund. But still, it was a hassle and I wouldn't have bought anything from them again if I knew they were going to lower my limit like this.
I mean, I'm up to date with my payments and I have no late payments on my credit report, so why did they lower my limit? It just doesn't make any sense. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with Belk and their customer service. They need to step up their game if they want to keep customers like me.

I recently purchased a Calvin Klein dress from Belk for a church function. The dress was priced at $139.00, which was a bit steep for my budget, but I really wanted to look my best for the occasion. Upon further inspection, I discovered that the zipper was broken in its open section. I was extremely upset as I had no time to order anything else since the delivery took so long. I immediately contacted Belk's customer service department to report the issue.
The first representative I spoke to was very nice and promised to look for something similar to the dress I had ordered. He even offered to overnight it to me if I liked it. He said he would call me back within an hour. However, I never received a call from him. After waiting for 1.5 hours, I decided to call back. This time, I was met with rudeness from the representative. He explained that their system does not work that way and that they could not look for something similar. He also told me that I needed to find something else on my own.
I was extremely disappointed with the way I was treated by the second representative. He was rude and unhelpful. I offered to have the dress altered if I could get reimbursed, but he said that was not possible. He insisted that I needed to find something else on my own. I was frustrated and upset that I had to go through all this trouble because of Belk's mistake.
I don't understand how items could be sent out without a quality check. I was also disappointed that the second representative was not helpful at all. He was the only one advocating for me in telling me to get something else. I have decided that this will be my first and last order with Belk. I had several items in my cart that I am deleting, and I'm blocking their messages. I hope they improve their customer service in the future.
Terrible Customer Service and Incompetent Employees at Belk: A Former Loyal Customer's Review
Belk is the worst store I have ever been to. The customer service is terrible, and there are no registers in the major departments like home, children's, or men's. I was looking for help, but no employee came to assist me. They were all busy doing inventory. I lost a big sale, probably around $600 or $700. It's such a shame that the customers are not the number one priority. At the end of the night, sales should be important, but it seems like they don't care about making money.
Cindy and Katherine should be running the store. They know how to treat customers with respect and make them feel valued. Bring back Angie and Beth, who knew their customers by name. No one was at the make-up counter, and someone in shoes and jewelry had to be called over to help me. They knew nothing about Clinique products, and it was a waste of my time. I had other appointments, and I lost another sale because of their incompetence.
I went to Ultra and spent $260 on products because I couldn't find what I needed at Belk. I will never be a customer in a store where the manager cares more about inventory than making a sale. I thought you guys were there to make sales and the store a profit. You lost an older loyal customer because of your terrible service.
Get rid of the smart-mouthed managers who don't care about customers and the service we deserve. Bring back a team who knows their customers by name. Your former loyal customer is now shopping somewhere else where we are treated with respect and good customer service. Give Cindy and Katherine the recognition they deserve. They are the only ones who know and speak to us like we are not a nuisance. We are your job, and without customers, you don't have a job.
Start looking for new management soon. I can see now why you had to file for bankruptcy. Your former loyal customer is older now, but I still love to shop.
Poor Customer Service Experience at Belk: A Disappointing Visit
I recently made an online purchase at Belk and opted to pick up my items in-store. When I arrived, I found two women in the shoe department. One was helping a customer with shoes, while the other was listening to music on her headphones. I waited patiently for someone to assist me, but the woman with the headphones ignored me completely. Eventually, the other woman informed me that only the manager could help me and disappeared into the back.
After waiting for what felt like an eternity, the manager finally emerged to assist me. However, I soon realized that I needed to exchange one of the shirts I had purchased. Unfortunately, the only woman who could help me was still with the shoe customer, so I had to wait even longer. Eventually, both women disappeared, leaving me standing there alone.
When the manager returned, she informed me that I could make the exchange at any register. I asked her where I could find the exact same shirt I was holding, and she quickly made a phone call to find out. She then told me where to go and I headed to The Limited section of the store to make the exchange.
Once there, I waited in line behind a few other customers. When it was my turn, the associate was on the phone and motioned for me to come forward with just two fingers. She didn't say a word or even look at me, which I found incredibly disrespectful. I'm a 45-year-old woman, not a child!
Overall, my experience at Belk was extremely frustrating and disappointing. The lack of customer service and disrespect shown to me by the employees was unacceptable. I will not be shopping there again in the future.
Belk's Customer Service is a Disaster: Double Charged, Incorrect Items, and Rude Manager
My first time ordering from Belk was a complete disaster. I placed an order for $247 and was shocked to see that they put a "hold" on my debit card for the entire amount. But that was not the end of it, as the items left the warehouse in multiple shipments, they charged me again for the full amount. This means that I currently have DOUBLE the amount of my order ($494) pending in my bank account! I was left with no access to these funds, which is unacceptable.
When I called Belk's customer service, I was met with a very rude manager who blamed my bank for not releasing the "hold" fast enough. He didn't seem to think that charging a customer twice for the same order was abnormal. He even argued with me about it! He promised to email me the contact information to their corporate office, but I never received an email. I called back and another customer service person said she'd email me, but still no email. It's been several days, and the money, $494, is still pending in my account. I only spent $247 with Belk! This is unheard of! What kind of a company does this?
To make matters worse, I received an item that was not as pictured or described on their website. I checked the sku #, and it was listed correctly, but the item's manufacturer tags were for a different pant with a different name. It turns out that Belk mislabeled the item in their warehouse, in the online photos, and online description! This is unacceptable, and it shows that Belk does not care about their customers.
As if that wasn't enough, I ordered a size XSmall sweater and received a size Large. This is a clear indication that Belk does not pay attention to the details of their orders.
To add insult to injury, I entered my email on the website for a $10 coupon for a first-time order, but the coupon didn't work. This is just another example of Belk's incompetence.
I will NEVER ORDER FROM BELK AGAIN. And to read so many similar reviews is disturbing! I NEVER authorized them to charge me twice! What they are doing is NOT legal. Belk needs to take responsibility for their mistakes and stop blaming their customers and their banks. I hope that other customers will read this review and think twice before ordering from Belk.
Belk's Customer Service Failed Me: Wrong Shoes, No Return, No Resolution
I had a really bad experience with Belk. I ordered a pair of shoes from their website on December 20th, 2022. I was really excited about these shoes because they had bees on them, which is one of my favorite animals. However, when I received the shoes, they were not what I ordered. Instead of bee shoes, I got shoes with a cheetah print. I was really disappointed because I hate animal prints, especially cheetah print.
I immediately tried to return the shoes to the nearest Belk store. However, they told me that they couldn't take them back because they were a third-party sale. I didn't understand what that meant, but it sounded like some kind of scam to me. I bought the shoes from Belk's website using my Belk account, and Belk took the money from my account. So why couldn't they take the shoes back?
I tried calling the number they gave me for "marketplace" issues, but no one answered the phone. I also tried talking to Belk about it, both on the phone and via chat. However, they told me that there was nothing they could do. I opened a case, but no one ever followed up on it. After another phone call, an agent opened another case, but again, no one followed up on it.
A week ago, I was told to wait for 72 hours. But it's been a month since I tried to buy bee shoes from Belk, and I still haven't gotten any resolution. I no longer trust Belk. I have spent thousands of dollars at Belk in the recent past, but I'm done now. I tried to return these shoes, but I didn't order them, and I don't like them. I will not pay for these shoes, and I will not pay to ship them back. I am unable to reach anyone who is willing to do anything about it.
I have paid off my account minus the amount they owe me for these shoes plus tax. So now, after an in-person attempt at a store, online chat, multiple phone calls, and multiple emails, there is still a $54.11 balance hanging out there that they need to clear before it hits my credit report. It's really frustrating, and I feel like Belk doesn't care about their customers. I would not recommend shopping at Belk, especially if you're looking for bee shoes.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience at Belk: Wrong Packaging and Missing Charger for Expensive Watch
I recently bought a watch from Belk as an anniversary gift for my husband. I chose the Mavado bold motion watch, which was quite expensive. I was upset and called the store the next day to explain my situation. Unfortunately, the store manager was not willing to help, and she didn't seem to care about my problem. I was frustrated, but I didn't give up. I called back later and spoke to a different manager, but she was even worse. Both managers tried to convince me that I was wrong and that the watch didn't come with a charger. They made me feel like I was inconveniencing them, and they told me that they would send me instructions to figure out how to use it. I explained to them that I didn't need instructions; I needed the charger. However, they continued to tell me that it didn't come with a charger and that I needed to send it back every two years to be recharged.
I knew they were wrong, and I tried to tell them that, but they got upset with me. I told them to go on the Movado website and look it up themselves, but they refused. The situation was not resolved, and I was frustrated. I would have to spend $85 in gas and five hours worth of driving to try and resolve this situation face-to-face. The manager asked me not to come to the store because they could not find the box or the charger. Finally, the manager did not know how to resolve my situation, so she hung up on me, and that was the last time I spoke to them before calling the Belks customer service line to complain.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience at Belk. The customer service was terrible, and the managers were not helpful at all. I hope that Belk can improve their customer service in the future, so that other customers don't have to go through what I went through.
Terrible Customer Service Experience with Belk - Would Not Recommend Shopping Here
I had a really bad experience with Belk recently. I tried to order something online but the website wasn't working. I tried a few times and so did my husband, who's a web developer, but we couldn't get it to work. I sent an email and called customer service the next day, but the response to my email didn't address the issue and the person I spoke to on the phone was unhelpful.
The sales price had changed since the night before and I was told I needed to provide a screenshot to prove the original price. I thought this was ridiculous - why should I have to prove something that Belk should know? The person I spoke to was unhelpful and wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor. I was really frustrated and told them I would be taking my business elsewhere.
I've been a customer of Belk since 2009, but I won't be shopping there anymore. The customer service was terrible and I felt like they didn't care about me as a customer. I wouldn't recommend shopping at Belk to anyone.

I was in Belk In Gautier Mississippi and had been in the day before but had a family emergency and had to leave before I could purchase two bracelets I wanted..The next day my friend and I went back in and she went off to find a restroom while I walked to the bracelets to get the two I wanted ...unbeknownst to me while I was scanning the bracelets to get the sale price and employee had walked by me.and told another employee to keep an eye on me insinuating I was going to steal which I've never done in my life. My friend saw her and confronted her about it and this employee acted like a complete insane animal. She began screaming and accusing me in front of the whole store and after I asked for the manager she continues to walk around the store telling anyone who would listen what was going on. I talked to the manager who apologized for the employees behavior and purchased the two bracelets I went in to get and these two employees who apparently had decided to be store bullies stood at the door trying to intimidate me I feel as I walked out with the female employee still screaming across the store like she stepped straight out of some trailer park. They refused to give me her name so I called an attorney who assures me they are going to be held accountable for their actions. I want this lady and her partner in bullying fired for their actions and I want an apology from them both. I am going forward with a lawsuit against Belk and these two terrorists they have employed at the Gautier Mississippi store

I'm a former employer concerned for the well being of store. Since you all brought karen dennison to that store, she has hired and lost 27 employees hired directly by her. Wanted to share this in hoping someone might take a look into that many associates having left in her tenure. I have been in retail for 23 years, worked with a variety of managers. Some good some bad, but she just is not fit for a store manager position.
Desired outcome: See something good come of whatever happens, be it her being removed, or investigation done, whatever it should be, it just should be looked at by belk inc.
Service/Alabama letterman jacket
I made an online purchase in December 2022. Sent email to Belks to check the status. They informed me it was delivered. Explained I never received my item in which this was an item I wanted badly. Come to find out it was delivered to someone else address. The person who address it was sent to put all my information on Facebook trying to locate me only to tell me she took it to the local Belk store and gave it to the manager and provided his name. I contacted the manager and asked if I could still purchased the item since they credited my account but I wanted this item and it’s not my fault they sent it to a Wrong address. He told me he has it and that it will go through a process and he would call me back if I’m able to still purchase it. It’s been a week now and he have not contacted me. I have been a loyal customer to Belks for a long time and have a credit card with them. I am not satisfied of how this situation is not being handled. If he have the item why not say you can come to the store and repurchase it. I purchased the last item they had that’s why I’m so annoyed. Someone needs to make this right as a customer where my package was sent to someone address and not mine.
Paid with gift card owed a few dollars and used debit and it placed whole amount on debit instead.
I placed an order with Belk.com using two gift cards I owed a couple of dollars so I used Paypal and it put the whole amount instead of the few dollars I owed and the gift card amounts disappeared as thou I did not have them. No way to cancel order. When I got my email receipt from Belk it did not show I had applied my gift cards; it's like they have wiped them out and kept the money as thou they did not exist. I feel like this is a way for the company to keep peoples money from the gift cards and instead put the whole amount on your credit or debit cards.
Desired outcome: Would like my money back and for Belk to fix this glitch or whatever is wrong with their website. This will keep me from shopping with them in the future if not fixed.
I am way past frustrated with trying to place orders online with belk due to many unpleasant changes they have been making such as i used to be able to place my order online with belk and have my orders shipped to my p.o box that is on file and is linked to my belk account with no issues at all!
Now when i try to order online with belk i am being denied where i want my orders shipped even though the website gives you the option to default the address where you prefer to have your orders shipped!

My name is Aleita Bregier. I am a long term Belk customer. I want to let you know 3 out of my last few orders have been a disaster. I ordered a pair of shoes and received the wrong ones. When I went to return them the order number on line did not match my number. After working online with customer service for weeks I got frustrated trying to return them by mail so I just drove across town and returned them. I ordered my husband a pair of workout pants and we never received them or heard anything. I went online 1 wk. ago and have not heard back. Today I received a Lamp I ordered. It obviously had been opened and it was broken into pieces. I am aggravated with the online service.. It appears things are falling thru the cracks in several areas I did not include the order numbers… if you need to see the orders they are available to you on my account. Actually I have had problems in the past receiving the wrong sizes and wrong items. I just have not complained. It will be a long time before I order online again. Maybe you will Work on your supply chain/QC. I like Belk however right now I am just plain disappointed.

Prices, discounts, poor product quality, managers at my local store
I called my local Belk store in Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Store #608 to discuss several issues. The assistant store manager hung up on me and went to lunch. I called back to speak with the store manager - she wasn't available so I left my number. It's been over ten days and she has NOT returned my call. I called corporate and filed a complaint with Shavanna on12/22/2022. Someone was suppose to return my call but it's been several days and I haven't heard from anyone. This is poor customer service and frankly is not acceptable.
ISSUES: (1) items not scanning for actual price but MORE than on the price tag. (2) not giving discounts as advertised. (3) Nobody is responding to my multiple complaints! I have been a customer of (Parisian)/Belk for 40+ years and deserve to be treated MUCH BETTER than this. Please contact me immediately at 205/792-6262 and/or by email at [protected]@yahoo.com.
