Customer services and coupon
Horrible experience with belk online customer service and coupon service. Staff basically told me that she cannot help and never actually try to help. I was trying to order online around 11 pm, the belk.com went down and when I tried to order again the next morning, now I was not allowed to use my coupon. This is the second time this has happened. I was finally told today they update their system around 11 pm. Which obviously 🙄 I didn't or else I would order earlier. So technically I lost the coupon! Belk is not customer friendly and they won't try to help you. They need to improve and maybe that's why they don't offer a survey at the end of your call with them as compared to other stores because they already know their reputation.
False arrest
I was falsely arrested for a crime on march 16, 2014, there was no evidence found on me at the time. I was beaten in handcuffs on the in side of the store seating down in a chair, with my hands behind my back. The cop choked and hit me with the taser gun. But the cop returned to months later to obtain evidence on may 21, 2014, when he stated there was no evidence in the police report. So the store receipt has may 21, 2014 on it, remember I was arrested on march 14, 2014 for the alleged crime that I never committed at the store. I have my burden of proof to back me up.

I have never been so frustrated with a company before! I have been a loyal customer for many years and that ends today. I bought three suitcases for and upcoming trip in February. I have been charged for four suitcases at four different prices. I have been trying to work this out for months. Each time it gets more tangled. I have spoken to eighteen customer service reps. Each one reassures me that the problem is fixed. I spent 1.5 hours on hold today waiting for a representative. After a brief conversation we were disconnected. Cheating on her husband with a member of Loss Prevention and lots of other shady practices going on. Is it not a conflict of interest to be screwing a member of security? The jewelry dept. consistently inputs the incorrect email address and then does not allow the customer to view the email prior to pushing the button to agree. My husband and I went to your store to buy Saddlebred suspenders. They were all originally $25 on sale buy one get two free. At first the cashier said yes 3 for $75. I said, "No, three for $25." She did not speak english very well and she got out a calculator and kept insisting. I said, "Just forget it and take them off". She called the manager he tried to tell me the sign didn't say mix and match so that was wrong. The sign actually said, "buy 1 get 2 free", and included belts and wallets. BUT what is most upsetting is we bought 3 of the SAME thing, in the SAME brand just different colors. The Manager would NOT admit that there was a glich in the computer HE was certain that WE were mentally deficient but he let us have them at the 3 for the price of 1. Then I produced a coupon and the cashier did not want to try it. I said, "You scan it and see". I bought almost $400 in merchendise today in your store. NOW I am contacting you because I am old enough to remember KMart. I am 54 and my husband is 60. This is the kind of CRAP that eventually bankrupts businesses. The only thing that a local store has going for them is customer service. It's too easy just to order on line from a different store or distributor. I know that my generation will not PUT UP WITH THAT DISRESPECT for very long and the younger generation can't afford to shop in your stores. Today I went to balks in Douglas Ga with my sister in law. We were at the shoe dept and an employee of belks whose name was Daniel that worked in the make up dept was behind us in the aisle. We moved to one side and she made a discriminating comment. She said OKAY MEXICANS. That was very offensive. I am a customer of belks and will not be back if I will be receiving those types of comments.
poor customer service
The girl you have working the Clinique counter in Alabaster yesterday (9/5/19 Associate 012629) about noon was very rude. Seems she was annoyed that I was returning unopened mascara with my receipt. She wanted me to return my free gift too. I have no problem with that, it is not used but I did open and put it away, but I asked her to show me or tell me what was in it so I could go home and get it. It's not the first time I have encountered her. I went a few months ago to purchase new makeup. I've used Belk makeup for years, mostly because I need help finding the correct colors, otherwise I could purchase at a discount store and save money. When I walked in and up to the Clinique counter she did not greet me, she was looking at her phone. I waited. Then I asked if she could help me. She never walked towards me, stayed leaning against the counter and rudely said what do you need. Well I needed assistance. I thought that was why she was there. I felt I was bothering her so eventually I said never mind and left the store. I went to Belk in Hoover instead. I've been a customer of Belk/Parisian since 1977 and still a Elite cardholder. With unwelcoming employees and the store looking like such a dump, I am not shopping there very often and am ready to close my account. I wouldn't want any employee to lose a job. Not what I want, but if this was my store, my bread and water, I would like to know what was going on there.

I purchased two suits. I bought an 8-thinking it would be better than them being baggy. When I tried to return or exchange them they refused and stated I need to give them a credit card number from which I bought them. Then the associate said to the other, "That is weird." She also asked why I carried a gun. I replied, "I'm going to school for Law Enforcement." Has she ever heard of the 2nd Amendment and respect and consideration? She implied I stole the items by saying, "I'll tell you what I'm gone do." instead of giving good customer service. Mind you, the suits along with all the shirts I bought were almost $400.00 with a savings, $700.00 regular price. She scanned the first item telling me they'd refund a penny. I said if these are available at this location, I will exchange for the correct size. She said they don't sale Petites at this store. I will never shop there again. I'll also pay Belk's credit card off this week because I had it to have an open line of credit to just show I have credit, but I don't need it and I no longer want it.

We have had a Belks credit card for almost two years. We were late once because the check was late. We called it in to pay over the phone. However, when the check finally got there it was credited to my account twice.That was the only time it was late in the two year period. My wife and I decided we wanted to get caught up on all of our account, so we paid Belks the total cost of the balance. The credit bureau has it not paid in full. We had $400.00 credit line. Then they cut it down to $300.00. Now that I paid the full balance off they cut me down to $100.00. My wife and I felt this was unfair. We had excellent credit with Belks. Unless I hear something from someone at Belks shortly, we will terminated our account at Belks and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for unfair treatment to customers. Again, we have had a excellent credit with your company for two years.

On august 12 2019 I was shopping in this store. There was no one working the shoe department and when I asked for a manager one never came. There is never anyone working who knowledgeable about the department because there is never anyone working the store. I miss the old store a couple of years ago when the associates could help. employment in loss prevention
This company's Loss Prevention Department or now known as Asset Protection is a complete joke. Their equipment is outdated and the district manager that covers the areas of tennessee and kentucky is a complete idiot.
I know for a fact that he screwed the pooch on a shoplifting stop and threw the LPA's under the bus for it. He couldn't let the fact that he overreacted and stopped the wrong person come back on him.
Michael Young, I never trusted you after that and then you placed hidden cameras in the LP offices trying to run off the LP manager and find him doing something you could fire him for. But you were too stupid to not leave the wires hanging from the ceiling and everyone knew what you did and had a good laugh about it.
The fact that they would allow you back says they don't have a clue in Asset Protection. You were ineffective then and now you are just a desperate kiss [censored]. Now that your mentor and f buddy Jo Bickford is gone I'm sure you will have your head so far up Pamela Velose's coochie you won't be able to breathe.
I'm sure Jo Bickford had to eat a s*** sandwich with that demotion. Going form c-level Director to a lowly divisional Operations Manager had to be a bitter pill to swallow but it couldn't have happened to a bigger b****.
Belk's payscale is notoriously low to begin with but no amount of money would make it worth putting up with that cluster f***
Unfortunately, I had the displeasure of working with Michael Young. He is very inept at his job and a total kiss [censored]. I doubt he could actually catch anyone stealing on his own. He knew nothing about placing covert cameras that is for sure. Belk is about to go out of business.
In all honesty this sounds like a review from someone who got caught stealing. When prosecuting people it’s hard not to make a few enemies.
I’m thankful for people who do this job. It’s a hard line of work.
