Worst customer service ever
I run a business and when I went to put a client on as additionally insured, it took 3 (yes you read that right) business days to add them. I have never waited more than an hour with safety insurance. I am going back to safety. I switched because I needed an umbrella policy and the price was right. The price is definitely not worth waiting on hold for an hour or waiting 3 days to add a client. I thought Berkshire Hathaway was a good name, but now that I experienced the work customer service, I will never use them again
Recommendation: Please shop around if you want to keep your sanity
Private Investigator Insurance changes
Waited 70 minutes. I read the insurance requirements from Texas' new law. I thought I had the correct coverages but Texas pulled my license, due to insufficient coverage. Even reading the law to the agent, he was not getting it. Asked for the section who sends the PSP-05 and he submitted to them a request for a new one. IT'S WRONG...now just canceling...been on the phone for 3 hours...totally unacceptable. Agent will not let me speak to the correct section. Now the chat lady just transfered back to the bucket!

First impression they are the best before you need to get anything from them. If you come to point you need any paperwork for your business your live come to nightmare. No way to hold anyone. We just got new quote price was change from $508.00 per month to $1250.00 per month with no explanation why. Try to get more information from customer support no answer. All 5 stars reviews you see on the website looks like fake because you can Wright anything there. If you take a look around they get worse reviews all over the different websites. We try to get loss run report from insurance provider and surprise its almost 2 weeks and we still on hold. Report should not take more than couple days and we already on hold for 2 weeks and still no answer. Getting batter when you call customer support line estimate waiting time 2 hours if you supper lucky. After all before you planning to buy any insurance from this company check reviews from different places and think if you like to work with company like this.

Aug 31 2023 we received an email from Biberk insurance with good news about your insurance policy rate will be change from $510.00 to $1250.00. After this message I call the company via phone listed on email to try to obtain information about why our rate get a sudden change. As usually I stay on hold for almost 30 minutes. After I get to customer support I got a message this is new policy rate with no further information. I ask to get in touch with the manager or supervisor representative let me know they will call you back when they get time. Moving forward get better I have called from company support from another representative on my question are you manager he let me know that he is insurance agent. I let him know that I requested to get call back from the manager and he said they are not available. On my question why he call me back I got information from the previous representative which was unlicensed agent and he is official license representative. Move forward get better on my concern why my insurance was increase for $750.00 per months he let me know this is because our underwriter team make this design. I ask to get copy for this report he let me know this is for company internal team use only. My next question was how can I get in touch with the manager and discuss my concerns he let me know the manager is not available and no one can help you to change rate. I ask him why rate was change $510.00 to $1250.00 per month is any specific reason for this big changes and he start provide me with this information:
1) You limousine company. Answer we was before when you buy policy.
2) You work with uber and lyft. Answer same as before when we signup with you.
3) This is require by state of California to increase our rates to all limousine companies and charge more. Question can I have copy of this information? No you have to get in touch with state and ask them all you question.
I have simple question to Biberk insurance why I have to spend half day on the phone with official company representative who can't answer any questions. All information related to my policy confidential for internal team use only. What type of professional business you advertise. For more information I never ever received any respond to my email.

Unfortunately I have to make a complaint about a company I really like. But none the less I'm going to, my policy was set to be cancelled on 5/21/22 at 12:01 am. As per biberk's police notice. Which was fine since I wasn't going to pay them for a service I didn't need anymore. I didn't have an outstanding balance or anything. Then I start to notice that multiple payments are coming out of my account for 2 months after they cancelled my policy! When I called to dispute the issue, I was told that the letter doesn't "actually" mean they are cancelling it, it just means as of the effective date the policy will be cancelled.. huh? Also due to the fact that when my policy was active I was enrolled in autopay so they just decided they would keep pulling money from my account regardless of whether they sent a cancellation notice or not. Because it didn't "actually" cancel on the date they noted that it would. So because they had access to my account from the active policy term. It just made sense to them to continue things as they were. My God I'm reeling from the play on words and obviously my stupidity.

NO COMMUNICATION - ARE THERE ANY ADJUSTERS WORKING HERE? We have worked with this company for several years and have not had any issues until this year. We've been attempting to contact an adjuster regarding a claim for over a month and have not had any communication from any adjusters at biBerk regarding our claim. I have left many many messages with Stephen ***, the adjuster on the claim, as well as messages with David *** and Alexandra ***, adjusters on his team, and with the Supervisor of Adjusters Lauren ***. The customer service team will not give me direct contact information, but I've been told that escalated internal messages and emails have been sent to all of the above several times as well, still no communication from any adjuster at biBerk. I've had the unfortunate customer service team sit on the phone with me for hours as I ask them to just repeatedly call the adjusters phones. Still no responses. This is absolutely unacceptable and I recommend anyone looking to use them for business look elsewhere. This could easily be resolved by a biBerk adjuster simply getting in touch with us at ***.

I hate biberk!
I hate biberk! They did not pay Anything when my husband died from work injuries even though the contract states "all drivers". I have One employee and One truck, but Biberk can't find mail or faxes with my audit information. My accountant faxed audit information, on time, as requested. Biberk sent me a "2nd notice" for the information. I called them, then had accountant re-fax the information because biberk could not find it, even though I gave the day and time it had been sent. I got another harassing letter from biberk threatening a higher coverage estimate. I mailed a hard copy audit to them. Then I got a cancellation notice. Looking at all my letters from them, there were 3 different account numbers. I had paid Every invoice on time. (They have no problem finding my money.) ...That was last year... This year, I mailed the hard copy First before due date. I just got another request for audit information. Their letters are not cordial. I am in process of closing my business and no longer have an employee. Services from biberk (or lack of) are no longer required. Please cancel! I will Not use biberk, and do Not recommend them.

Absolutely horrible company to deal with
Absolutely horrible company to deal with. We had business liability coverage through BiBerk for two months Sep-Nov 2020 and tried to expand our coverage to include the bar we were re-opening after being closed due to COVID restrictions. We were told they don't cover that part of the business so they were dropping our entire coverage. I scrambled and found a great (and much cheaper) policy from another insurance provider and thought that was the end of dealing with BiBerk. However, they have continued to bill us for coverage they stopped providing back in November. Nobody from BiBerk will return my calls or emails and when I call into their Customer Service number nobody is in any position to correct the situation (including Managers within Customer Service or within their Cancellation departments). They have now sent my account to collections for non-payment while continuing to bill us monthly even though they have confirmed via email their coverage ended Nov 2020 and I have provided proof of other insurance beyond that date. I do not have enough words to explain how extremely frustrating this entire experience has been and continues to be.

When purchasing this insurance for Liability, workers comp and *** insurance the representative was great I was told everything I would get and how to go about requesting my COI'S. A month after having this insurance co it has been by far the worst experience. We are promised that we would receive our certificates 72hours after a request (These request have to be made thru email because of additional insured and waiver of subrogation) after more than 72hrs I am forced to call and find out where my certificates are, no one ever has a straight answer, I am then transferred to other representatives that I have to re-explain the situation to and after 1/2 hour waiting period every time they disconnect the call. This has been going on for the past month. Today alone I have been on hold 4 different time and call disconnected 4x since 9am, I have asked for my certificates it is 1:30 and I have yet to receive. My jobs are for tomorrow and will be canceled if they don't receive the COI'S by a certain time today which means I will loose a contract which mean I don't make money but Biberk makes sure that the auto pay is on point. Why can't this be they way they are with getting me my COI'S.

Terrible experience
Terrible experience. I got my insurance no more than a month in a half ago. I ended up calling to cancel the workers compensation on Nov. 30th, the day I paid my first monthly bill. However, I found out later that they made the cancellation for Dec. 20. After days of calling them, waiting sometimes for hours, Biberk sends me to Milo and then they send me back to Milo because both companies pass the blame and nobody wants to correct the situation or have the ability to explain what is going on. After going through an Audit for canceling and not getting anywhere, I ended up telling them I wanted to cancel my other policies immediately! I finally spoke to a supervisor. I cancelled my policy as of Jan 14. I have called numerous times only to be on hold or never receiving a call back. When I tried to pay last months bill on Jan 19, I was unable to and received a letter in the mail stating that owe way more than my first and second months bill. The company is very misleading, bad company practices and they don't explain anything to you. I would like my money back. I haven't had the insurance for more than a month. I can't even call to pay what owe them less than what they are charging me. I've sent numerous emails, called numerous times.

During the course of setting up our accounts we've had difficulties, LLC instead of LTD. Getting to someone who could resolve issues for us in a timely manner. Hold times, etc. things that would have us switching companies.
That is until we got Jon *** a licensed customer service rep on the phone. Jon has taken it upon himself to personally keep us in the loop every step of the way. Helped to communicate with 3rd party compliance companies. Pushed for us to go from day one of business, at a stand still with our customers. To $15,000 in revenue this month because now we can get approval from the compliance companies and start work at our apartment complex customers.
This has all been 100% because of the assistance Jon has provided. He's hands down been a rock star! 5 stars! I personally feel like he should be training the other reps on how to take a customers needs and push them the last mile so they can achieve their goals because that's what was done for me and my family.
He's earned our business hands down, and I can't say enough good things about him! HIS personal service has kept my family and business running.

How does this *** company get 4.33/5 stars. The Complaintsboard.com has lost all credibility with me, and anyone that wants a true look at the honest reviews of this company simply Google "BiBerk Insurance Reviews". You will get a continuous stream of 1 star reviews. Apparently the Complaintsboard.com doesn't have any safeguards to check who is leaving these reviews on their web page so Biberk just uses people that should be providing the customer care and answering the phones to type in fake review after fake review in order to boost their image. Have waited over 6 hours on hold the last 2 days in attempts to cancel my policy. Called 1 number and was simply disconnected after exactly 30 minutes. Called back and guess what? Disconnected after exactly 30 minutes. Called a different number and was told I was #10 in line. I put the phone on speaker and commenced cleaning the house. 2 Hours later I had moved to #7. Eventually my kids came home so I disconnected myself. Next day, same thing until all of a sudden...I was disconnected. If I could give negative stars I would. I ended up just calling my bank and stopped the auto pay, but I am curious if anyone would actually answer. Is this answering center in Ukraine? Someone better check on them.

We've been business conslutants for 32 years here in Los Angeles. We moved and thought it was a good time to change insurance companies. BiBerk signed us up. The same day our contracts arived, we get a cancelation notice (April 26). They canceled us for 'Material Misrepresentation." *** is that? I call and they tell me that we don't fit into their definition of business consultants. Well that doesnt mean that we lied. We certainly did not lie. For the past 2 and a half months they have been charging my credit card for insurance we did not receive. Every time I call their representatives agree, that we should not have been charged and reverse the charges. now we are getting late notices on isurance we never received and constant cancelation notices at teh same time. We've had other insurance since the same week they canceled us the first time. There is no talking to these people in letters, on the phone. I've had to resort to disputing my credit card charges. What did they do? They reinstated my insurance to cancel it again without telling me. If you get Joshua on the phone - hang up and find another rep - conpletely incompetent. This is what happens when something as personal as the relationship with an insurance agent in person gets automated. Complete and utter frustration and chaos. I would NEVER recommend Biberk to anyone.

I'd leave a lower rating if I could. I needed commercial auto insurance and right off the bat informed the sales rep of the insurance requirements that were needed for my job contract. The insurance coverage was completely misrepresented over the phone. I specifically questioned her and had her ask others to make sure the trailer coverage I needed would be applied. We called and emailed back and forth for several days (they don't get back to you quickly, btw). We finally agreed to take out a policy. The funds were removed from my account immediately, and when I then received my insurance documents after payment was taken, I realize the trailer coverage I needed wasn't applied. After several more phone calls and emails, I finally learned that they don't even offer non-owned trailer coverage but did not tell me that up front. My policy was dated to be effective 3/28/22. I called and emailed on 3/25/22 (prior to the effective date) to notify them that I had taken out a different policy elsewhere on the same vehicles, and therefore the policy would not even be utilized. It has taken me another 5 days to learn that they will issue a refund check within 90 DAYS for the amount they feel is owed back to me. Really? My policy documents show that there is no cancellation fee. Not one day was covered! And they were able to draw out my funds within seconds. Why should *** earn 3 months of interest off of my policy premium payment?!

After 35 years in busn i am headed back to my local neighborhood independent insurance agent for my insurance needs and esp their Workman's Comp product. It is just way too frustrating spending ALL that time on hold and on the phone trying to take care of THEIR goofups in multiple ways, from HOURS on hold, to their autopay never having worked after 15 months of trying to get it set up, from their yearly audit procedures eating up way too much of my time, to their setting/guesstimating of my payroll in 4x as much as it should be, paying inordinately high premiums and then at end of year going thru their painfull & time consuming audits in order to get a refund.. I shouldn't have to be on the phone with them every week. This is a huge time sink. I'm going back to local insurance agents.. The previous 5 STAR Review is here: I worked with a rep named Katarina tonite and she was phenomenal and extremely helpfull, knowledgeable and proffessional. This is why i keep coming back EVEN THO the company itself does not hire enough people to man their phone lines. I was 16th in line and it took me 90 (NINETY) minutes. That is an HOUR and a HALF out of my day ON HOLD with a reminder message telling me where i am in their telephone queue!.. Having said that, i give the company's understaffment merely ONE star. As others have echoed, wish I could give them zero stars. I required their coverage for two months while on a business engagement. I signed up and paid promptly each month and cancelled at the end of the second month. They required me to email them to cancel which was fine, but I did that and they confirmed the cancellation. However, there was no indication that there was any outstanding balance at that time. A month or so later I receive a bill by mail stating I have an outstanding saying I owe what looks to be a premium for a third month. Assuming it was a clerical mistake, which understandably happen, I emailed the representative I cancelled my policy with again. It is at this point it gets frustrating. The representative responds with an email telling me it is an outstanding balance (obviously), but not for what period even though she confirmed my cancellation date. So I called the company and was put on hold in total of 30 minutes at the end of which they told me "that's just the way the billing works and I cannot credit the account or explain why it is owed" I asked to escalate the matter and was told "I am sorry there is no one here that can do anything about this." I am left with the choice of overpaying this immoral and/or incompetent company or risking damage to my credit. The amount is not enough to justify small claims court , however, I strongly caution anyone to look elsewhere for their insurance needs. If they manage premium payments this way, I can only imagine how they handle claims.

This company has the worst customer service of any company I have ever experienced. They have extremely long waiting when calling their toll free number. You cannot contact any individuals via telephone. They will never call you, only email. That is, if you can get a contact person for you to reach out to. You cannot resolve issues via email for insurance, only by talking to the insurance company directly. They just don't seem to care about you as a customer. No amount of savings is worth the aggravation and time wasted when you have any customer service issue as outline below by my experience. Our company discovered an issue with respect to the underwriting of our insurance Policy with BiBerk. We were told the only way to resolve it was to call the company's toll free number to speak to the underwriter. I called that number and had to wait on hold for an hour before someone was available to talk to me. The representative I spoke to told me that he would be emailing out documents to sign that day. I waited a week for the documents. On the fifth day I decided to call them back. After a ten minute hold, I spoke to a representative and explained the situation. That representative asked if they could put me on hold for a moment. I was then put on hold for three hours in a cue to speak to someone. When the person answered, he told me that I requested the wrong department. After correcting him that his agent had sent me to this cue I had been waiting in, He then put me on hold to connect me to the correct department, which put me into another cue where I waited for another hour and forty five minutes. When the representative answered, I asked if I was speaking to underwriting, and was told no, that I was speaking to customer service.

I've had a horrible experience with this company
I've had a horrible experience with this company. I signed up for business insurance because we were moving into a new retail space and need increase insurance. I provided the agent with the types of insurance I needed and was given a quote that was reasonable. Well, when I received the paperwork, my name was wrong, my address was wrong and umbrella insurance (which was a major reason I switched) was not included. I called back and spoke to someone new who assured me these mistakes would be fixed right away. A week later, the only change made was my name. I went through this three more times. I was told the underwriters were fixing it and it would be 72 hours. At this point, I was delayed by two weeks moving into my space. I didn't receive any word after 72 hours, even though two different agents told me it was "elevated" as urgent. Not to mention how unbelievably long the wait times are and I got transferred at least three times each call, even choosing the right prompts. Fast forward two more weeks, I get a notice in the mail that they have added umbrella insurance BUT I was charged more. To be clear, I was quoted WITH umbrella at the original amount I was charged and now they are charging me more. This is AFTER, I was assured that I had already paid for the correct insurance and this just "needed to be fixed" by the underwriters. This cost my business money, delaying my build out and opening. I would never recommend this company, luckily, I was able to switch to Allstate and I am paying less for much better service. Every customer service rep I spoke to essentially told me lies, (i.e. I won't be charged more, I will receive my policy change within 72 hours, even that I won't have to wait on hold again after waiting for long periods of time) *** Moral of the story, just because a business has brand recognition doesn't mean they should be trusted. I would give them zero stars if that was an option.

BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU BUY WITH BiBerk!*** They can be very misleading when they try to sell to you. I am upset because the sales rep I spoke with on the phone (who called me right after I entered my info online as I was only interested and looking for plans from different companies). I only needed insurance for ONE day for an event. I did not get her name but she called me on June 3 at 1:21pm and we spoke for 8 minutes and 20 seconds (according to my call log). She said they offer monthly plans and even recommended me that I get the Professional Liability (E&O) Policy for my job role that I'm in and talked about packages. Because of her, I said okay and bought it. I DID NOT know there was a cancellation fee and was surprised when I got a notice in the mail saying they were going to auto renew/charge my card. ***Get this...the cancellation fee was MORE than the amount I paid for insurance for that one month. I emailed a rep (as she emailed me when I cancelled) and she said in the fine print "there MAY be charges". It's not even clear if you get guaranteed charge if you cancel in the fine print! Then I called and spoke to the first representative (did not get her name, but she seemed nice) who said I should talk to Retention about my situation and I was transferred. I waited 20 minutes and was connected to another rep, who said she was not in Retention. She told me she couldn't help and that she was in the main queue and needed to transfer me again. I was put on hold for another 12 minutes and then I was brought back to the queue and transferred to the same rep. She said she is going to speak with her supervisor and the supervisor will get back to me in 24 hours. They didn't get back to me. If I had not known all this misleading info and hidden fees would pop up, I would have NEVER gone with BiBERK. If you see the other reviews on this page, I'm not the only one that's been misled. I understand you have to meet quotas (see Glassdoor) but this is not right

I had 4 new high end trucks insured with Biberk and one new S580 *** that was all damaged and flooded by the hurricane back in Sept of 2022 , So I opened a claim and a claims adjuster contacted me and stated you don't have very good coverage and you will totally lose money ! The next day the claims adjuster called me and stated I have a egg on my face because I gave you false information because you have plenty of coverage ! They sent PDA field adjusters to look at my trucks that were flooded and yes they agreed they were totaled by saltwater damage , They next day I get a call and text message from my office adjuster with Biberk stating we have totaled out all 4 trucks and approved the repair on your *** S580 ! Then we went over the agreed values of then truck and agreed on buying the salvage back from Biberk and my office adjuster with BiBerk with her Team leader with Biberk stated they have gotten all payoffs with my lien holders and have put a rush on the checks to pay the baks off and has overnighted me a check to get the *** S580 fixed ! Never happed and the team leader Jose admitted he told me that to calm me down because he didn't want me to worry through the weekend ! so now I have the lien holders calling me wanting payoffs ASAP due to that Biberk Insurance has sent the State of South Carolina totaled out report that my trucks are totaled and the title are now salvage titles with paying off the lienholder . They picked one truck up 2022 F250 Limited with 300 miles on it by accident and sent it to co part and haven't even paid me or the bank off and now Biberk want even sent a release order to co part to give it back to me and its sitting there with the windows down and now its filled again with water from rain and dust . I would never insured anything with this company nor believe anything they say became everything is lies.

I opened a gen liability polict commercial auto trailer interchange and umbrella for my trucking company. The agent did not list fmcsa filing at time of binding so my truck was not able to run due to no filling to the feds. They said since it was not done right that they needed to cancel the policy then rewrite it. Then upon rewriting it it declined and could not provide coverage. Then was told a supervisor would reach out to me and figure out the problem. Nothing. A week has gone by I paid my down payment and have not recieved any service. This is a joke noone knows what they are doing. Cant speak to anyone higher up. Everyone works from home. Kids crying in the background dogs barking etc. Very unprofessional very unethical. Horrible experience

It is now Sept 2023 I have not received my refund and when I call they say the same thing, "we have not got to your audit yet" how can this be? its been 7 months, if I owed them money Im sure my audit would have been done immediately.
Where is my refund? Better Business Bureau is my next stop.

Workman's comp
Let me start out by saying it was very easy to sign up and get started with workman's comp online with biberk.
Since then we saw the policy more than triple. They asked for an audit I sent in the information and I asked for explanation why it was so much. Took me a while to get an answer after being bounced around to multiple departments, come to find out the audit came through with me not excluded. I sent them the correct paperwork right away and proceeded to let them know that I told the agent at the time that I did not want to be included in the insurance as I am the owner and only do clerical work. Policy was coming due for another payment and told them I did not want them to take the money out of my account till we get the straighten out Note that we had time before the payment was due. Tried to straighten this out in the meantime and just got bounced around. So I got other insurance before it was due. And biberk took the money out of my account anyway Days early from my account. If I'm not Mistaken This is against the law.
Tried to get a refund in the meantime and have not gotten anywhere.
Since then they proceeded to send me an invoice for crazy amount of money And they say it's due to not sending in your exclusion form in time. I feel like it wasn't represented by the agent correctly in the beginning. All the other company I talked to and have got insurance through. Send you the link for the exclusion form before they even sign you up for insurance. Also the rate they have charged me is not for clerical even so feel like this highway robbery being threatened by collections and all very disturbing. We will send over to insurance commission and will be in contact with my state representative and do not take this kind of behavior lightly This is highway robbery and hopefully this doesn't happen to anybody else.
Desired outcome: Refund for money that was taking out of my account without my permission. They stopped the bull crap collection policy and threatening me that my insurance triple anywhere else from here on out.

I’ve being a customer with Biberk since 7/7/2022 policy number N9BP680506, so far I enjoyed the experience, the ease of use. On March 30th, 2023 my store got vandalized. I took all the proper steps, called the police, called my landlord and also BiBerk. Getting in touch with the person that was I charged of my claim is difficult. They’ll give you his email, his number, But he answers 2 to 3 days later. After finally reviewing my claim he told me that I don’t have coverage because my claim falls under a “casualty” and my landlord is responsible for the damages per my commercial lease. This is the first time I hear something like this. I spoke to an attorney who specializes in insurance claims, and casualty “Casualty Damage means any damage or destruction of property owned by Landlord or Tenant and resulting from fire, earthquake, or any other identifiable event of a sudden, unexpected or unusual nature (each, a “Casualty”). My store got vandalized, as the police report said, not damages by an event of nature. The agent lie to me, I guess in order not to approve my claim. I was advised to sue biberk by my attorney since in his experience, this is a common insurance tactic to no payout the claims, taking advantage of peoples blitz ignorance. I really don’t want things to escalate to that point, but biberk makes it really hard not to. I called twice this week to speak with a supervisor, and I was told a supervisor will call me with in 24 to 48 hours. No call what so ever. I’m honestly looking to resolve my claim in a professional manner without the nee need going to court, and move on with my business.
Desired outcome: I need my claim to be checked again by someone else that is not Jeremy Goldwasser. I really don’t want to go thru the process of suing. Inlose time, and biberk loses unnecessary money.
Overbilling for Biberk E&O Coverage
COMPLAINT BEING FILED: FRAUDULENT CHARGES BEING MADE BY BIBERK BUSINESS INSURANCE (BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY)
I’m an insurance agent who is required by my contracts with insurance carriers to retain E&O coverage which I had with Biberk Business Insurance (Berkshire Hathaway) from July 22, 2021 thru July 22, 2022 paying monthly premiums of $44.50.
Immediately following my one-year contracted coverage I cancelled Biberk’s policy since I’d taken out better E&O coverage through another carrier (after paying Biberk 13-monthly charges of $44.50 - 1st payment 7/22/21 and 13th payment 7/22/22).
Biberk is now harassing me (through the Brown & Joseph collection agency) to pay Biberk’s fraudulent charges for coverage and administrative charges for August-December ($50.38) when I already had E&O coverage from another carrier and had already cancelled coverage/services from Biberk.

If I could give this company ZERO STARS, I would. I am a customer, and have been for a while now. However, the company increased our premium by $*** within 1 year, with no NOTICE, OR EXPLANATION. In addition, they went into our account 3 weeks prior to the renewal date, WITH NO NOTICE, OR EXPLANATION. After we called to ask why, 2 customer service reps hung up. When we asked to speak with a supervisor, we were told that one would call us back before 6pm, on Nov 12, 2021. Prior to closing time, we called and the customer service rep, Crystal/Christine answered the phone. She was ***, ***, ELEVATED HER VOICE WHILE SPEAKING TO US, AND WHEN WE ASKED FOR CORPORATE'S NUMBER, SHE TOLD US TO *** IT, AND HUNG UP. We called Monday Nov 14, 2021. Although the rep was very nice and helpful. She informed us that she was escalating the request and that a supervisor would call us back in reference to filing a complaint against the rep. To date, NO ONE HAS RETURNED OUR CALL! Lastly, when we asked her about the increase, she stated that it was due to the state we lived in. What kind of explanation is that, when we have never filed any claims? In addition, no explanation was given in reference to going into our bank account 3 weeks ahead of time and withdrawing a payment. We are an OVR trucking company. Back in March 2022, we decided to insure our company with BiBerk. Since day one, they were constantly messing things up on our policy. The last huge mistake they made was not reporting our insurance to the FMCSA, which caused our MC number to get deactivated. We finally got ahold of someone at BiBerk to fix the problem and send over our insurance so our MC could be reactivated. They said they'd pay for the reinstatement fee, which they never did. Our company couldn't haul any loads for 5 days, causing us to miss out on significant revenue. When we asked to be reimbursed for all the money their mistakes cost us, we were told it was our fault because we had a late payment. However, that didn't make sense as our payments were automatically deducted from our account monthly. Then we received another email informing us that as of December 2022, they would be canceling our insurance. While canceling our policy is within their rights, not taking accountability for the financial losses and inconvenience they caused our company is unacceptable. Not to mention the hours upon hours of time wasted on hold trying to get someone to answer the phone or even understand the issue when they finally do answer. Hands down, it's the worst experience I've ever had with an insurance company.
For months I've been trying to get Biberk to correct the address of my business on my policy. Besides not doing it, they have no record of my calls. However, yesterday a customer service representative named Patricia found that the last request had been transferred into an email for someone who she thinks doesn't work there anymore. Now the request is in underwriting and they have to review the policy, decide if it needs any changes (for example, figuring out how they can charge more money) and will let me know if they approve this change. It's frustrating because it's just my address that they have wrong.
I filed a claim for a vehicle that was stolen from me two months ago. I've been having issue since I filed the claim. Never able to come up with a agreement on the clam. Terrible communication. I have Professional Liabilities (Errors & Omissions) insurance through biBerk. The insurance policy *** covered from 1/20 through 1/20/2022 expired 4 months ago, and the premium was fully paid on January 19. The renewal *** covered from 1/20/2022 through 1/20/2023 was fully paid on December 30. On May 18, 2022, I received two emails from biBerk requesting additional payments of $*** for the policy *** and $*** for the policy *** after their premium audit. These additional payment requests are not legitimate. As required by *** law, if the price is raised based on the customer's revenue or claim, the contract or policy must include the statement that the premium could be adjusted based on the annual Premium Audit result. biBerk did not include such a provision in my Professional Liabilities (Errors & Omissions) policy. I have never made any claim. In addition, I provided my estimated income of $0 for the year 2022 on May 16, 2022, as the biBerk requested on May 12, 2022. It is no reason to increase the premium for the policy *** with the coverage period from 1/20/2022 through 1/20/2023. *** I contacted the underwriter several times and have not resolved the issue.

I need to cancel my two business policies but no one answers the phone. Even when I get ahold of a customer service person they transfer me to the (I'm guessing non-existent) "cancellation department". I have reached out to my original agent but everything says the policy must be cancelled over the phone. IMPOSSIBLE IF NO ONE ANSWERS EVER. Extremely displeased with this process and company.
I had an Insurance Policy for my business which covered my building and general liability, I moved out to conduct business at another location/address, on august the 24th right before renewing my policy with Biberk Insurance company I sent an email asking them if I do not conduct business anymore at this old location/ address and I keep the policy / renew it I was going to be covered still on my old location/building, they replied back stating that no it was not going to be covered since I am moving and no longer conducting business at this location, since I told them not to renew my policy they did renew my policy and took money out my bank account! I have sent several emails to them explaining the same over and over and they refuse to refund me back the money, finally I was able to cancel the policy after several emails and calls, and at the end they said that they underquote me and that I have to still pay some more money after cancellation! with no coverage at all on my building/business in case of a Lost! This is not Professional at all!
biBERK started sending me cancellation notices although we paid the policy premium. After much effort to find out the problem it now appears that biBERK sent a request for information, which we did not receive. I have tried to email them at the business insurance section with no response. I attempted to contact the underwriters, but had the wrong email address. I now believe I have sent them a request to the correct email address and am awaiting their reply.
This is a scheme to keep taking money from your account even when you want to cancel. You cannot cancel on the website so they have you call customer service which puts you on hold and never answers. You then have to file a claim with your bank and get a new card. Companies that engage in this type of illegal business should be shut down immediately.

My policy should have ended on Jan 15, 2022. I did not renew the policy but BiBerk continued to withdraw the payment in Jan and Feb. I tried calling multiple times but after many hours, never got through to a representative. I checked the website for info about automatic renewal. The FAQ regarding auto renewal states "If your policy is eligible for renewal you will receive a billing notice 30-60 days in advance of the policy's effective date. You must make the required down payment in advance of the renewal policy's effective date. Your renewal policy billing statement will provide details." I did not receive a notice nor did I pay the down payment. Since I couldn't get in touch with the company, I contacted my bank to dispute the charges and stop payment of future charges. After that, BiBerk attempted to withdraw the payment in March but my bank declined. I responded to one of the failed payment emails and was put in touch with Jessica ***. I told her it should not have renewed and referenced the website conditions for renewal but she didn't respond except to get my policy number and reasons for canceling. After I received a bill in the mail, I emailed and asked Jessica to have someone call me about the bill. Her response was, " The total premium for the time the policy was active for is a combination of the pro-rated premium for the time the policy was active and any applicable cancellation penalty." I just emailed back again asking for someone to call me and I tried calling with no luck reaching anyone.

I am trying to cancel two (2) of my Biberk Policies. Initially, on 8/12/22, I was able to get a hold of a Biberk representative immediately and was told to email in a cancellation request form. I did that, but have not heard anything back. Now, when I call, I am put on an endless hold and can never get in contact with anyone. It is critical that my PL policy be cancelled on 8/20/22. Please contact me as soon as possible, as getting in contact with your support team has proven impossible.
I was looking into getting Professional Liability Insurance and how most of people do, shop around. I called BiBERK on August 11, 2022 and Jonathan provide me with good service and he told the price is $*** for one year. My first question was no problem I can pay, but can cancel anytime since I was still shopping around. So I paid, and in less then 24 hours I wanted to cancel it since I found something better with a local agency in my area. The only problem was, now when I want to cancel, company charge me additional short rate fee for cancelation. If Jonathan would mentioned this to me, I would definitely waited with a purchase. I search through my emails and first email I received from biBERK is to leave review for Jonathan(4.58pm), then at 5.02 pm I received the policy/quote which mentioned some short rate policy. So pretty much all emails I did received, after I already submit the payment. My point is, I just wish your representatives would share this information with a customer and not try to hide it. After I already submit the payment, sending information about cancelation already too late.

It took the adjuster weeks until he called me back and then proceeded to tell me what I asked for to be covered is not covered. He told me to call the sales department to ask them about my policy and he will call me back about updates to my claim. I have still not heard back from this adjuster for a few weeks. I called the sales department today and proceeded to have someone named Matt tell me I never spoke to someone from their office prior to December and I wrote the policy on my own (even though I have text exchanges and phone calls with someone who was claiming to be from Biberk). He told me the person who wrote my policy never worked there and I need to speak to a supervisor. The reason I originally needed to speak to someone in the sales department was so they can look over my policy and explain to me what I am covered for and what I am not. Matt refused to offer me this service and told me I have to speak to a supervisor first. I repeatedly told him that I am running a business and I need to make sure we are covered correctly and accurately. He proceeded to raise his voice telling me he won't speak to me about the general inquiries on my policy until I speak to a supervisor and then hung up the phone. I am FURIOUS with this company as I have been paying for a policy I never asked for and they will not help me with answering the most general questions.

My former company, a sole member LLC, was overcharged a significant amount by BiBerk for insurance in the 2019/2020 period. I closed the LLC in 2021 and now, more than two years after the policy expired, they attempted to issue a refund for the overpayments that were drawn from my credit card. Since the company is legally dissolved, they insist on making the refund check payable only to the company name. They refuse to add an 'or' to the check or to refund to the original payment method, which was the credit card. Consequently, there is no feasible method for me to retrieve the funds that I personally expended due to their error, and the resolution was not provided in a timely manner. Had this situation been addressed a year earlier, I would have been able to resolve it with ease.
We are a new motor carrier company and were seeking to find insurance. We came across Biberk because their pricing was reasonable. Our issue arose as we were attempting to file for our motor carrier (MC) number. We needed Biberk to report to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) that we had an active covered policy. However, we encountered agents who refused to assist us. They claimed that because our vehicle was classified as a lightweight vehicle, they would not report it. Regardless of the vehicle's weight class, they should be able to confirm our policy with them. This has prevented us from obtaining approval for our MC number. We have invested a substantial amount of money in this company for a COMMERCIAL policy on a light vehicle, which they knew they would not be able to report for. We were not informed of any of these details when we signed up. All their representatives suggested that we should seek services from another company, as they were unwilling to fulfill this requirement.

I Setup coverage for proeprty and liability coverage on a rental house for an LLC in August. The property encountered a loss in July 2022. I spent 3 weeks getting someone to setup the claim and to have an adjuster visit the property and assess damages. I met the adjuster at the property on August 2nd 2022. He reviewed the property, took pictures, and I gave him the invoices for remediation. For nearly 4 weeks I have been calling BiBerk to check on this claim. I have called 9 times and been on hold for over 6 hours. I finally got ahold of the claims examiner after nearly 4 weeks. When I spoke to him he explained that he was reviewing but the property address that they visited was not the property covered. They had my mailing address as the property address. When I asked him why the adjuster was sent out to an address that wasn't listed on their policy he did not have an answer. When I asked him why it has taken 4 weeks to get ahold of anyone and for anyone to recognize this (and only bc I pestered), he did not have an answer. He told me he would see what he could do. I showed him the online info I submitted (that showed the correct address) and asked him to have the initial setup call pulled (they are recorded). I have then spent the last 4 days trying to get someone on the phone in customer service. I have spoken to 4 people (after an average of 33 min wait, even though queue says I'm #1) and they talk to me and they just send me back to the same queue with no assistance. It just seems that there is no one who will assist and my claim has been sitting there for a month and half. Thanks

Our business, now without coverage, bought a policy from Biberk Insurance
Our business, recently insured, bought a policy from Biberk Insurance company and fully disclosed exactly what we do. We also stated that we had a primary policy to cover our water related activities and only needed secondary coverage for our retail facility. We were assured by the agent Aaron that water related activities would not be a problem. Furthermore, we paid on time every month and then two days ago we received a notice saying our policies were canceled with no reason given. After several hours on hold we finally had to place a call to their Corporate Headquarters to get them to get someone on the phone. We were then told that our policy was canceled due to water related activities being forbidden by their reinsurer. Since that was the case, and we were in violation of our policy that meant that we had no coverage for the last 6 months even though we fully disclosed what we do and paid on time. It is even reflected in our business name. To make matters even worse I was able to get a quote for a swimming facility (this was one of the choices on their website) so either someone is lying to us or Biberk is committing fraud by accepting monies from customers for policies they have no intention of honoring. Both my wife and I have been loyal customers and shareholders for many years and have never experienced anything like this in the past, so we are assuming there is some kind of misunderstanding since I am able to go to their website and purchase a policy for the exact activity they say is forbidden.

What a terrible experience with BiBerk, I would recommend staying clear of this unprofessional company. Here's my experience: Jul 13 2022, I called biberk to request a quote for new insurance, I felt comfortable with the sales person, I had a list of requirements that were needed by the mall and he said BiBerk would be able to meet those requirements. Shortly after I signed up, he notified me 'additional insured' need to be approved by underwriting, this will take a few hours, since it was end of day he said it would be sent to me the next morning. 3 days later, nothing. No additional insured, no one contacted me, nothing. Now it is Jul 20, 2022. I talk to some lady named 'Tera' from customers service. When I told her that I was promised additional insured on my policy, she accused me of lying, needless to say, I asked if she could email the mall and explain to them that BiBerk can't fulfill those requirements, she goes 'no', I asked her if there's someone else I can speak to, she goes 'no'. I asked for a licensed rep or someone in underwriting or even a manager, she goes 'I am the only one you can speak to' in a extremely rude manner. I told her that I was lied to be the sales person, and have cost me a week of my time wasted. Not only she didn't have an ounce of care, she said 'that's your problem'. I told her thank you and hung up the phone. People who are considering BiBerk, be warned: the sales person will say anything to get you to sign up for the insurance, they will lie on the phone, and if you get the wrong representative for customer service they won't address any of your questions.

I paid for my policy and just a few months later was billed an additional $*** without my consent, without a phone call or email informing me of this huge additional charge...nothing. Had I been notified I would have cancelled my coverage at that point. I did not notice the charge come through and it was paid through a business account. When my new policy period arrived I was notified via email that a payment of $*** would be taken from my credit card on 11-30-2022 which prompted me to look into why it was so much more expensive. This is when I found out that I did in fact pay $*** for the previous year, I was just not made aware, nor did I catch the charge on my CC. I called several times about the matter and no one could really tell me what the mysterious $*** charge was, just saying that it didn't seem right, which was already obvious to me since I was quoted less than half that for the initial policy I signed up for. I was notified in email that I had to elect to decline TERRORISM COVERAGE, which I did, but was charged the $*** at that point. To me it seems that the man I talked to on the phone that signed me up for this policy was either being purposely misleading or did not know what he was selling me. I am to understand now that the minimum policy amount is $*** which is outrageous and I would have never signed up had I been properly and honestly informed from the beginning. No one has since mentioned the possibility of a refund , which though I think is very much warranted , I do not expect to see.

Our Company went with Biberk for E&O insurance as the price seemed attractive in April. We were asked to provide revenue estimates and we did based on our monthly revenue. For 2020 our actuals were lower that what we put in the application. We paid the renewals in 2021 without any issue. We got a similar note to pay in 2022 for the next year and we paid the amount in full just like in 2021. Both in 2021 or 2022 renewal notices there was no ask for any revenue details. After a month we get email to share our revenue details and we did. Our revenue increased in 2021 due to Covid but we were back to normal again in 2022. We then get emails asking us to pay a very high amount for 2021 and 2022 stating that our revenue was high. I disputed and spent hours trying to get hold of these folks and sometimes after more than 45 mins someone used to pick up and say they will prioritize the case but they never did. They never responded to my questions: 1) How can they change the premium after the policy has been paid and the year has also been completed. 2) Why wouldn't they tell us the correct premium by asking for fresh revenue numbers so that we as customers have a choice to renew with them or find an other company. 3) If this was revenue based why wouldn't they then pay me for lower revenue in 2020. I must have sent them at least 10 emails but after getting frustrated of not getting any response, I switched my provider to another company. After a month passes by again in August they sent me an email asking to to pay extra (a huge amount) for 2021. Now in September I get a note saying that they would be sending this to collections. Is this even legal that they change the price after the renewal without giving customers a choice to choose. Thanks

After trying to cancel my business insurance back in 05 with a monthly fee, I finally received email of cancellation on 06/24 for the following month 07/09. Despite this, I kept receiving emails, sometimes daily, about attempts to charge my card. Another cancellation notice came on 07/23 with a new date of 08/07. However, the emails didn't stop even past the supposed cancellation date of 07/09. After enduring what felt like hundreds of harassing emails, I got a message from Sara on 09/15 demanding payment for the period of 03/17-08/07, despite the supposed cancellation. Attempts to contact her were fruitless. The struggle continued until I got an email on 09/30 about a necessary premium audit. I hoped this would end the ordeal. Later, Jason confirmed the audit's completion, yet I still got a payment request on 10/18. He informed me that the audit finished on 10/06 and a refund was issued on 10/07. After receiving the refund check, I was baffled to receive a collection agency notice on 11/22 and a bill from Biberk on 12/19 for the same amount. It's perplexing to get a refund followed by a collection letter and a bill for the same amount. I advise everyone to steer clear of this company.

As a business owner who was moving from hiring independent contractors to employees, I needed to purchase employee compensation insurance. A colleague informed me that she was quoted almost $*** less than I had been quoted, by BiBerk, so I reached out and confirmed that yes, I could get insurance at that rate. In mid-February I purchased the policy. On April 1, I received a bill for an additional $*** for "endorsements". On April 4, I spent almost 2 hours being on hold and speaking to different departments. I was told that underwriting had misclassified me & that was why the increase had happened. She assured me that after our discussion she had taken care of it & the increase wouldn't happen. I woke this morning to a credit card debit of $*** for the above mentioned endorsement. I, once again, called BiBerk. After holding, I was able to speak to "Amy". I was asking her to explain why I had been charged when I had already had a discussion & had been told that the misclassification had been corrected. She kept interrupting me and talking over me as I was asking questions. I finally said that it felt like a bait-and-switch. That I had been quoted 1 amount and then 2 months later underwriting decided my classification wasn't correct and increased my premium by almost $***. She said - and I quote - "we do it all the time". She then went on to lecture me about the fact that I should be happy that I have the correct coverage in case anything happens, I will have the correct amount of coverage available. Anyone else understand that a business owner is capable of making a business decision based on true and accurate information given to them at the time of a sale & does not need to be given false or misleading info so that the insurance company gets the sale but has lied or mislead the customer and then just drops a HUGE bill in their email and says "WE DO IT ALL THE TIME".
