Cabela's Retail shop attendant

Never had more humiliating retail experience: I travelled to the cabela's store in 100 cabela's dr, hamburg, pa. I made a phone call first to verify that the item I wanted was available (henry 45-70 rifle). I own several firearms, wanted to expand my collection. Here's my experience: the store attendants, actually one for the firearm long department at the time was slow in thinking and moving, unknowledgeable and useless. He could not answer most of my questions. After I made my decision to purchase the right firearm the humiliating experience started. The slow employee handed me over to the arrogant department, to check my background. There was no help to fill the background check application, I asked three times for help, the attendant simply said he was "too busy". I observed the 3 of the attendants chatting together, that's how busy they were. As a result I made a mistake filling up the application which seemed to be a major issue and I was asked to fill out the new one; so I did. The application was submitted and I was approved to buy around $899 firearm plus tax. During the whole, what should have been a simple process the store attendants were slow, rude to arrogant, noisy and made fantastic deal out of nothing. The attendant that brought up my mistake came back and started arguing and harassing me over my application information despite the fact that my application was approved and without mistakes. I asked him to eliminate the first application, yet he ignored my request. As a result I cancelled the purchase and left the store. Frankly, I would expect the retail store attendant to be of reasonable intelligence but the one I met today was total retard. As I said, one of my worse retail experience ever. I won't be shopping at cabala's ever again, i'll simply shop elsewhere. And i'll make sure i'll share my experience.

Desired outcome: Train your employees, demand respectful treatment for the CUSTOMERS!

Cabela's A parka hunting jacket

I bought a $250 Cabela's jacket and was disappointed in the name Cabela name brand tag being added on upside town.

I have all of the traceability needed. Quality? This should be good Quality!

Cabela's Gun sales

Felons in Texas can buy and own black powder pistols and rifles without a 4473 or FFL as they're not considered "firearms" under ATF law because they do not use fixed ammunition and were designed prior to 1898. I bought a bp rifle from Cabela's online 9/9/2020 with my credit card, waited 2 weeks for shipping to the Allen Tx store, who notified me to come pickup MY rifle on 9/22/2020 and I drove 140 miles roundtrip in the rain on 9/23/2020 to do. Upon arrival, I waited another hour in linem then finally was asked to show my I.D. for pickup, they retrieved it from the back, opened the box, we inspected it and then they asked for me to complete a questionaire that asked about my past criminal and psychiatric history, although a FFL and 4473 are NOT required in the State of Texas nor by ATF. This violated my 5th Amendment Right and after completion they denied me of the merchandise I already paid for 2 weeks in advance and had receipt to prove was mine. They therefore violated my 2nd Amendment Right and committed "Bait and Switch" as well. I left empty handed, embarrassed, humiliated and with rights violated.

I purchased a new hand gun on 7/29/20 at Cabelas located at 1600 Gateway Blvd NE, Lacey WA 98516 and completed the federal back ground check the same day. The person who helped me with the purchased gave me a slip with information that the process can take upwards of 30 days to process, occasionally longer. Cabela's Refund not received!

On 7 March 2020 I ordered a pistol at Cabelas. When I got to the store in Albuquerque on 11 March, I discovered it was the model number was wrong, so I asked the clerk to cancel the order and issue a refund to my credit card. He said that he would do it and that it would take about 3 days to get the refund. It has been a week and no refund has shown up on my credit card. After contacting Cabels's national office I was informed that it would take two to three weeks to get the refund. So, in the meantime I am left in the position of having to pay $679.60 for which I should have received a refund. The customer service is horrible. The company is not responsive to customer concerns. I will never shop at Cabelas again.

Cabela's service

I bought a new shotgun scope last year, your employee mounted it for me and left the metal caps off the scope, I called and the caps were at my door the next morning. Then when I removed the gun from my case at hunting camp, the scope fell on the floor! It was not mounted correctly! All the screws were not tightend properly!
I purchased a shotgun on sale last fall, had to wait 3 1/2 hours because there were only 2 people authorized to sell guns that day at your store, they kept appologizing to the 100+ people waiting. Today I drove to Calelas to purchase some fishing equipment for the next day, I found everything I needed and even some lures I didn't need till next year, however, after waiting in line the cashier said that He can't except the gift cards I have because the system is down, no appology was offered. WHY DOES SHOPPING AT YOUR STORE HAVE TO END WITH A BAD EXPERIENCE!
I am buying a new boat soon and was looking at the 20 foot Mako that was on display. Well let me assure you that will not happen now!

Cabela's large cabela cot

I bought an extra large Cabela cot with a lifetime guarantee. A bolt sheared and I wanted it replaced. I called Cabelas and an employee said no problem we will exchange it. I drove about 60 miles to find out otherwise. They said they would replace it but I would have to pay 40 dollars extra. They said it was an updated model. The newer model had some unnoticeable differences in construction likely do to more economical manufacturing, nothing I can see as an improvement to product to benefit consumer. Maybe even cheaper, I dont know, and looks the same without further investigation. Regardless... lifetime warranty was not honored. It was a long way to drive for nothing, at least they could have told me on the phone they no longer honor a TRUE lifetime warranty. I might also add that Cabelas service is no longer neighbor friendly, it's barely bussiness friendy, especially in the firearm section. I really want to like Cabelas, I really do. I bought alot of merchandise over the years, I use to enjoy and be proud to wear their advertised clothing. I hope they come back.

Cabela's service

First and last time in a Cabela's. I went in with a disassembled rifle (in a cardboard shipping box) to see how it would fit, folded, into various cases. Timmy insisted that he had to 1. Remove the rifle from the box himself 2. Assemble the rifle 3. Escort me around the store, holding the rifle up like he's in the 3rd Infantry, asking me annoying questions the entire time. After pestering me about buying a case, he literally says 'so which case are you going to buy?' My answer: Gimme my rifle, Timmy, I'm out. My only advice to Cabela's: Quit hiring children to handle and sell firearms- surely there are laws in place to prevent that.

I predict a Chapter 11 in your very near future.

Would like to point out a cross conflict in the staff of management when the store under went the merge with bass pro shops the store manager was not only over looking the store but also being a sub for human resource manager in which turns wrote in files of employees that put in two week notices I would like to see an action taken since this place original let other employees walk back on premesis after getting there jobs back

Cabela's ultimate alaknak 12x12

I bought the ultimate alaknak tent from the bargain cave from the south Edmonton location, I knew it was a display model but I didn't think there should be any damage besides some weathering and streatching. When I took it out camping a couple days after the purchase I found out one window is completely trashed the plastic is split across the whole window. I looked at the other windows and they aren't split yet but after this summer I can't say they won't be. Also on the floor of the tent are some holes from improper set up that don't have a patch over them and there is a hole in the wall that was patched. I understand it's a display model but the price I payed for this tent makes me very unhappy with the condition it's in. I'm pretty close to writing reviews about this on public forums because when I went back to the store to see what they would do they offered me staff discount on a floor liner or roof protector I didn't go there to pay more money. This tent was a very exciting moment for me and my family we could never afford this tent without it being in the bargain cave but we also thought we'd get more then a tent full of holes I don't think it will even make it through the summer. So please I ask if you could do anything to rectify this for a young family who love to camp and thought this was going to be our dream tent. I don't think this tent should have even been for sale. In the photos of the window it's hard to see but the creases on all the windows like that are very close to coming apart.

Cabela's ammunition

I am a long time customer of Cabela's and I shop in the East Hartford store location. On numerous occasions, I have been informed that the type of ammo I need is not in stock. Recent examples are the 20ga. Federal Sabot Slugs, and Herters brand rifle bullets.
The sales person checks, and I am told that there is plenty at the distribution center, but only a few boxes are slated for East Hartford; maybe I should try in a week or so.
My rifles are sighted in for a certain brand of ammunition and it's very inconvenient to have to switch brands and realign each time.
Shopping at Cabela's is still a good experience; please correct the poorly stocked ammunition problem.

Cabela's 800 grain ridge hunting boots

I was at the Grandville MI store this morning 9am, entered the store went to customer service and I told the x2 customer service representatives that I wanted to exchange the defective boots that are barely 11months old as the stitching near sole and heal were undone, I was to I need a receipt to do this, I replied that only would be true if I wanted a refund, not a exchange, for which I did try to get I was told that it appeared to be normal wear and tear, I asked about the lifetime warranty, and the manager comes around the desk to explain to me that it's on a case by case basis, I told her that I wanted a exchange she told me that wasnt going to happen after she asked me 1 question do I where them often, my reply that they don't sit on my mantel looking pretty, or mounted my wall... Then I ask is it something I can order or get a rain check for as they didn't have my size in stock she gets a car then that car takes me to a machine, enters all my personal information and takes my credit card. Then says everything is all set and tried to walk away from me. I ask what about a receipt, she the car hands me a biz card with a 9 digit number and reply's here u go. I say no I want something tangible showing how much I was charged. Another car repair comes over to me and he states he can help me and now I have been shoved off to the 3rd person, he was pleasant, well mannered and did try to help yet the plot thickens. He calls catalog customer care services main line as the computer kept locking up 15-18mins later I find my self talking to this person on the phone to verify whom I was, great all said and done she stated I had purchase replacement boots and then tells me the punchline... Price 119.00 add 10.00 for taxes and billing for the free shipping, bringing my total to 159.00 I reply stop that's some funny math. And immediately camel my order she then states do I want to update my info as it appeared to be enter wrong for shipping, I said I wish it cancelled long story short and an 1hr of my life wasted and take my cart back to its Coral and the gentleman ask how was my experience. I stated I hope he has a better day then I, .. Think of contacting the Michigan fraud agencies. Lifetime does mean they can pick and choose what's replaced... So sad that it all fell on deaf ears. I liked the boots just wanted a exchange., now thing of contacting a lawyer for the false pretenses of a warranty thats supposed to be iron clad if they contacted me for a exchange I would rather have the boots...

I was in your Saginaw branch November 25.
About 2:30 Was trying to get assistance. My question is do you make it common practice to hire pot smokers in your store. The guy who I guess tried to assist me smelled like he just got done smoking. He wreaked of pot. I buy a lot of gear in your store. But at this point I think I might take my business elsewhere.. His name was Nate .. I hope you take care of this matter in a timely fashion..

Cabela's sales floor employees

I went into the fitting room to try on some pants and outisde of the room there is only one sign stating no more than 5 items. Nothing posted about being counted in or seeing an employee first. As I was trying them on an employee knocked on the door asked if I had been counted in first I tokd her no I hadnt and she then told me I needed to come out immediately. I told her I would be out as soon as I put my clothes back on in which she replied I needed to hurry up. So I was doing so and she knocked again telling me to get out now and even had my husband tell me I needed to hurry up. When I opened the door and handed her the clothing I told her I was already finished and didnt want any kf the items she then asked me what about the sweatshirt I had on, which was my own personal swewtshirt I had worn into the store. I told her it was mine she just said uh huh and rolled her eyes. I then wenr over to the knives section and a man was helping a customer whom was bent down looking at something. The employee put his hand up blocking my cart even though I had stopped and wasnt going to run into them and when I stated I saw them I wasnt going to hit them he rolled his eyes at me as well. I turned around and tried going around in the next isle in which the empliyee walked out blocking that pathway as well. At this point I had had enough with the staff's very rude and unprofessional attitudes and walked out of the store. This was only my second time visiting this store and I will not be returning!
