CarMax Sales service

On the 28th of June 2021 I elected to pursue the purchase of your item stock # [protected]. I applied for CaxMax financing and was approved. I requested that the car to be shipped to my location and was informed that it could take up to 7 days for transit. Its been 12 days now, and on one can tell me when the car will be available. I've called or test every day and it seems that no knows or cares. I was told I'd receive a call to day form a manager but that did not happen. You costumer care service has hit the bottom of all my prior dealings with any auto dealership. There seems to be no concern about my needs.

Desired outcome: A manager who cares to get involved and one how has knowledge of the agreement and the status of the vehicle.

CarMax auction purchase from Jacksonville location

My name is Keith Daniels, Owner of Hatfield Enterprises in Columbus, Ohio. we buy cars at many of your locations online. I received a 2013 Chevy Camaro last 8 of vin D9107959 it was purchased 6-14-21 at the Jacksonville location. It was finally shipped to my location by Carmax 6-24-21. My buyer Rob Ventresco has been trying to deal with this at the store level with no avail. There is a Major safety concern with this vehicle that was not announced. I would like to talk this over with someone at the highest level to get this resolved before things get out of hand. CarMax Car finance department

My car was repo by car max several months ago.. As time goes by.. I kept getting several violations from the car that was repo.. I am talking about 29 30 violations, it was done under my name.. Why is my name is still link to the car, it seemed as car max already sold my car to someone else aready, then why are they not required to put their name to the vehicle? Why is it still under my name? That is why whoever doing this, dont care about anything, they kept on doing this because its not under their name.. Why is car max allowed this to happened>? Please take care of this now, I have sent many letters to car max financial, and nothing have been done. I guessed I cant expect much from a bunch of idiots, who only there because of the pay check and [censored] all the customers problem.

CarMax False advertisement

Came in for approval with a co-signer. Got approved, paid transfer fee.co-signer had an emergency and had to leave out of state. My stepfather who is a retired american citizen and live sin france and comes to the usa couple months out of the year offered to cosign me with his stellar credit since carmax advertises everything can be e-signed online. I called carmax to verify that information, they gave me the green light. I got pre approval, on a better car I wanted, at a much better rate called them to start the process. And now I am told that you cannot esign and co signer has to be present at time of delivery. Because of that I am now unable to purchase the vehicle even though we were pre approved. So 1 I want to report the false advertisement on their website you cannot e-sign it is a lie! 2nd I want to report that I was personally mislead by one of their agents who assured me everything could be done electronically. I am now left in a bind as I already sold my other car t) o purchase this one and now I cannot buy because of lies and I am left without a vehicle even though I am disabled. I will provide screenshots directly from their website to show proof of false advertisement :

CarMax Poor systems of communication

I was interested in buying a car for my other home in Florida. I have spent hours on the phone your chat room for over a week. As a retired new and used car dealer I saw Car max from its inspection over 15 years ago I realized that was the new future for the auto industry, in fact the reason I sold my dealership. My attempts to buy a car from car max was a disappointment. I communicated with no less than four associates got approval notification and instructions. I attempted to communicate telephonically but was put on hold for over two hours. My contact by your chat was even much more frustrating. By the time I would type my response the sender time me out, gave my contact information but as of this time I have never been contacted. The system fail a 70 year old college graduate.

I have worked with Diana and other staff for coming on for two weeks to get back and unjustified deduction in my checking account in the amount of $3225.75
I have faxed documents, I have been told two different times the funds would be returned and both times Diana has not been honest.

CarMax Service dept

Purchase date: March 27, 2021
2019 Ford Escape 38, 883 current miles
I purchased from Winston-Salem NC store. They assured me a complete service check was done and a recall check also.
Now, I have Powertrain possible Transmission issue going on.I was told by the Store that this was a Prior Lease vehicle and
routine service was completed on the history of the vehicle.
Apparently NONE of the above was done by their Service Dept.
I have just made 1st payment on this vehicle. Have done my research on the FORD website and this mechanical issue is NOT Normal, i called Service Dept several times and finally got a return call on May 7, 2021. I now have gone to my Local Ford Dealer to make a repair appt., and should they find there was an ODOMETER roll back and I incur any out of pocket costs, ie, a new transmission, I will pursue Legal Counsel. I should not be having this issue with a vehicle of only 38, 883 miles on it.
I went through Carmax because had heard they were a good bet on a new/relatively new used vehicles, sorry to say now, I should have just gone local on my purchase. i will NOT refer anyone to the Winston-Salem Location in the future.

Desired outcome: I expect a Full investigation of all the above along with any reimbursement for Out of Pocket repair costs

CarMax Way too many issues to list just one

Ok so where do I begin with this nightmare. I wanted to buy a car and for it to be a simple painless process but every step of the way it has not been. I first saw a car I wanted to purchase that was located at you Buena Vista park location. I put the car on hold and drove an hour and 45 minutes to be the second customer in the door. 6 1/2 hours later I was able to leave and drive home exhausted and a bit unhappy due to the pressure of the salesman trying to get me to purchase maxcare. I decided that the car wasn't really what I was looking for and decided to return it with 7 days. I returned the car to the Palm Desert store and thought that was the end, oh but it wasn't. I received a call the next day to tell me that they didn't get ALL the signatures needed and I would need to come back. I wasn't happy since I returned a car and all I had was my classic car that I really don't like to drive for purposes like this but I did and thought this would be the end but no it wasn't. I decided to buy another car and had it transfered and was told by the woman who took the call that she would be with me through the whole process, that was the last time I ever heard from her. The car finally arrived at Palm desert and I thought I was done but no. I got a call from the store telling me that they didnt get all the signatures needed and could I come back, I said NO and they sent the paperwork via fedex and I signed the documents. Think that's the end? NO the car I purchased stated making a very loud clicking noise and I called carmax again three hours and twenty minutes later I spoke with Sally and she asked me when I wanted to come in and I told her she could pick the time. She picked 10:00 a. m apologized and said that they would take care of this. I got a call from a gentleman at your Palm Desert store telling me that they could not meet the appointment that they scheduled and that I had an appointment at 9:00 a. m at the BMW dealership. I told the gentleman that was not possible and told him that I would call corporate. I called corporate and talked to Alexis and still no fix. REALLY blown away about how Carmax is doing business these days.

Desired outcome: Fix the car or pay me back for the money that I am going to spend to get this car fixed.

CarMax Credit card stolen out of sold truck

Sold my truck 3/27/21. Called and reported that my garage door opener and a credit card were left in the truck. Got a call back claiming the credit card wasn't found. Fraudulent charges are now on that card I know was in the truck! Local office brushed it off that it must have not been in there!

CarMax Lemon?

Paid $13, 500.00, financed $4, 000. thru CarMax on 10/19/2020 for a 2011 Beautiful Ford Explorer XLT. No probs on test drive, no extende warranty purchased as I had previously purchased 2 vehicles from them and only routine maintenance was required. Here's what transpired since then, under the 90 day warranty:
Maryland Inspection report from 10/07/2020 showed no problems (Carmax in Laurel, Md);
Bob Davidson made open recall repair to both rear toe links;
Back to Carmax11/27/20 for check engine light one, exhaust gasket and catalytic converter replaced;
Back to carmax to replace left headlight bulb and fix no heat on front passenger side 01/06/2021; Sent to AlPacker on Pulaski Hwy. for oil pressure light on. "software updates and calibration done;
Oil pressure light back on, back to Al Packer where oil pressure switch and"pigtail" replaced;
Hit and run to loaner, Liberty Mutual claim file 01/25/2021;
Back to Al Packer in early February 2021 (don't have paper work yet) for check engine light and intermittent oil pressure light!
Today, still have loaner but no idea what's wrong or when vehicle will be ready.
How did this pass inspection AND my emissions test is overdue?!

Desired outcome: Want money back or functioning replacement.

CarMax Working there

One of their best new hires in Richmond, va, is required to log in at 7:59 am, never earlier, and leave after 7 pm. this is a computer and telephone job perfect for work-at-home and they refuse to offer that. She has Sunday off. Sunday. If that treatment is worth $15 an hour to you, perhaps you deserve it. Her work and education record is ample proof she deserves better. Carmax Richmond is not where to work if you're competent. Keep searching.

CarMax Bought a bmw last night from carmax.

Bought a bmw from carmax, which had 20, 0000 miles on it, I drove it home. 1 day later which is today, all these sensor lights ABS, red brake light, and another light came on. Car says take immediately to dealer for repair. Took it immediately to dealer. Took it BMW dealer. Took them all day for a diagnostics. There saying it says corrupted software. After a reboot of software, will find out if something more is wrong with it. I'd something more wrong, I'm immediately returning it to carmax and getting a full refund. I got to drive across 5 states 2 days from now to go to work. I'm thinking about just getting all my money back tomorrow.
