customer service and employee in dining area
I felt uncomfortable eating when I heard an employee talk to a customer about his meth use. I just got up and left because the other customer kept saying Mike you need to stop using drugs . Thought it was inappropriate to hear about his life story.. Poor woman was trying to enjoy her meal when the employee was talking to her about this nonsense. Not safe
customer service of employee and manager
On, March 2nd, 2018, my family and I visited Chicken Express located at 7113 Boat Club Rd, Fort Worth, Texas 76179 at approximately 8:45 - 8:50 PM. Upon arriving at the drive-thru, my first question was: do you currently have a chicken tender special for $20?
I received a response of what two sides would you like? I said, I am sorry but I am not sure if you heard my question or not. So, I repeated myself but a bit louder. Do you have a chicken tender special for $20?
In a very frustrated tone, I hear, yes we have a 15 piece tender meal with two sides for $20, now what two sides would you like with that order. At this point, I am ready to say forget this and go elsewhere but my son really wanted chicken tenders. I proceeded with my order and pull around to the window.
As we sit in our vehicle, we watch two employees prepare our food and place in a bag. However, they very hastily threw everything into boxes and just threw the boxes into the bag. It was complete chaos. Mind you at this time, we were the ONLY customers. It took another employee until 9:04 to ask me for payment. This employee was equally "as pleasant " as the co-worker that accepted our order.
We sit there, at the drive thru window and watch these employees prepare other orders and deliver them to vehicles that arrived much later than we did. Our order still sat t here on the counter; one of the employees came to the window and told me that they were waiting for the okra to cook. I find this extremely odd because I watched them place the okra in a box and then into the bag. It was the second item they boxed up.
By this time, I had already decided I was going to speak with the manager and employee whom took our order about the extreme unprofessionalism and lack of work ethic.
Except, the manager (Scott) had manners that were equivalent to those of a kid in middle school. Scott would not let me finish an entire sentence without interrupting me and when I requested that he let me finish speaking before he interrupted; he yelled at me and said you will not speak to me like I am your son and slammed the window. My teenagers, both boys sitting in the back seat laughed and said sir, we only wished she would speak to us as calm as she spoke to you (not that he could hear them.) By this point our food had been been sitting for over 20 minutes that I requested my money back.
We are extremely disappointed and only hoped that customer service would improve once the establishment moved locations; unfortunately it has not improved at all.
order & refund of transaction
I come to the chicken express in seagoville several times a week. I have never had issues here but tonight when I placed my order the order was not correct... The order had to be fixed and was a $2 difference. So I gave her $5 in cash to fix it. Instead of letting me know she would have to refund the transaction and ring it up again. She just refunded the transaction I have now been sitting waiting for the refund to go through so I can repurchase my food over a $2 difference because I do not trust that the system might not have a glitch and not refund my purchase. This is absolutely insane && I will never come to this chicken e again. The employees are usually very nice and tonight everyone has been rude. This is the first time I have ever had a issue. I work in customer service & understand how things normally operate but the cashier should of let me know what was going on before making a decision on to refund without validation as to if I wanted to wait for that type of transaction. So no food. No refund. This is fantastic!
parking lot hazard in grand prairie
On Friday, February 23, I visited the restaurant on Hwy 360 in Grand Prairie. As I was driving through the parking lot to find a parking space, the gate to the dumpster blew open in the wind, as it was not properly secured. The iron bar to secure the gate caught on my front right bumper and tore a large hole in both the bumper and right front quarter panel of my car.
I immediately informed the manager, Shane, and was advised to contact the dumpster contractor, Republic Services. After 3 days of delays from Republic Services (dumpster contractor), I was informed this was not their responsibility, and I should get with the corporate office.
Corporate told me to contact the District Manager (a Realty company), and I've left several voice messages.
There has been no effort on Chicken Express's part to accept the liability, and I am left with a damaged car. Does anyone in your company care that word of mouth is both an effective method of advertising AND a devastating blow when complaints are aired publicly? I will be very happy to boast that Chicken Express solved this problem and fixed my car, or that your company's negligence and lack of responsibility cost your customers thousands of dollars in damages. My voice, their choice.
"nails" found embedded in chicken!!!
My wife and I have been faithful customers of Chicken Express for a number of years but never expected what we found this evening.
By looking at the attached photos you will see what appears to be three metal objects (presumably nails) which were found in two chicken breasts. I found one of them just before taking another bite and after inspecting the remaining pieces found two more.
Obviously this is UNACCEPTABLE and could have caused very serious injuries if not worse.
I would like to know why these pieces of metal were in the chicken to begin with and how they could have been placed in the chicken.
I am copying KXAS NBC5 to ensure a reason for this potential serious danger is obtained.
I look forward to hearing from you.

chicken and biscuits
I went to chicken express in Denison, tx at 7:19 on Tuesday night. I went to get dinner for my family and decided to get a bigger meal so my husband could take some to work.
I got the 15 tenders meal with mash potatoes and mac and cheese. They asked If i wanted biscuits or rolls and I stated rolls.
I go to chicken express because they alway have the best food and I never have complaints expecept tonight.
The chicken was so hard and so dark that they looked like they been sitting under the heat lamp for a good 30 min or more. I never have this problem they are always fresh.
Then I got biscuits that I didn't want and they was so hard that I could of hurt someone if I threw it at them.
I am a faithful and usually happy customer but we could not even eat our dinner that I paid 25 dollars for.
I called the store to let them know what happened and all they said was I'm sorry this happened to you, they didn't offer to fix it or anything. I live 20 min from there I was not going to drive back up there because I had to feed us from home and get my son to sleep.
I am very upset that I paid for food I couldn't eat answer that when I called the store that they didn't seem to care at all.
The worst part of all of this is that my son woke up to use the washroom, and i yelled at him and hit him for getting out of bed. He had a black eye. if i don't send him to school they will get suspiciou and if i do they will call CPS on me because this is not the first time that I have hit my son. They have already called CPS for concerns and I am afraid that I will have my son placed in foster care because of him. My husband tried to calm me down and I am afraid with the fights that we had he may leave me and try to get sole custody of my son.
unprofessional service from a manger.
On January 28th 2018 I was in line at the chicken express location located in Coppell, Texas 75019. I was next to place a order at the counter when I Hurd a employer call for the manger and told her she had a phone call. I proceeded up to the counter to place my order, outta nowhere all I here is foul language and yelling and due to her overwhelming loudness I realized she was speaking to an employee on the phone. At this time she was in the office with the door open maybe little over a min of the foul language and yelling I was then able to place the order the cashier apologized for the inconvenience. I placed my order waited, received the food and began to eat. 10 mins in to the meal a employee comes in and the same manger which the name I found out was young lady by name of Amber very unprofessional and very abusive to her management power. However the employee that just arrived was walking behind the counter when Amber the manger stop the young man and started cussing him out for being 2 mins late as she stated. She began to express threats towards the young man telling him that I quote " I should fire you stupid [censor] can you not tell [censor] time" young man explained that his grandmother had a flat and that his grandfather had to take off to bring him to work that he was sorry. She then continued to degrade this young man. At no point did this manger care that there were customers eating, 1 couple up and left expressing there opinion to the manger on the way out. I recently went back to chicken express on 2/9/2018 to see the same manger in her vehicle smoking a pipe at that point I questioned her on the smell. She then got really disrespectful. I have made several complaints to who says he is the owner names John sparks.
the manager
The last few times my family and I went to your store it was awful! Some of your food was not fresh and the chicken strips were small. When we told the manager, sally, she said she didn't like the way we were talking. She never offered to replace any of our food. Told us the okra was fresh, and it wasn't. My sister and family use to go to your restaurant a lot. But not anymore, since it seems we are bothering them. Your customers depend on your food to be fresh, and when it isn't, they may go to another restaurant?. It's very sad 😞 to think the manager of your restaurant doesn't want to make sure your customers are taken care of. Debbie Palmer.
poor service
I visited a CE with a "coupon" for a free tea. I Pulled up to order just 3 pieces of chicken and the next thing I know the girl on the speaker is talking about a dinner, a trying to get me to order more. So as I drive up to the window I give the coupon for the the tea and she still rings my food up at regular price and charges for a large tea, which is what the coupon is for. I will not visit this location again, for getting the order wrong and charging for more.
emission of frying chicken odor into surrounding neighborhoods
Chicken Express provides no contact info on their website for their corporate office so I am posting a complaint here and with my local city council. The odor within 500 ' of the store is overpowering and ghastly. I live approximately a quarter of a mile away and can no longer be outside without smelling their grease. This is an unfair abuse of our environment.
fish snack/reg green beans
I went thru the drive thru and ordered 1 piece of fish, green beans and a large sweet tea. when I got to the window I was shocked when my total was $6.40. I thought the order was wrong and questioned the attendant. She said they had raised their prices. I went ahead and took the order but was very dissatisfied. when i got back to work (I only get 30 min for lunch) I looked on the ticket. Then I looked in my box. $1.99 for green beans. There was a small container that was barely half filled. for $2 you would expect the container to be filled. also the fish was cold and dry. Needless to say my lunch was not enjoyable. The tea was good as always. Also, what is the Tray#3 CTND .60 for. the store was Chicken Express west tyler / CNT 4E>>>tkt 66. I would like a refund.

rude manager and horrible service
Hi, I just moved to town and I love Chicken Express. I ordered I guess as soon as they were about to close. I received cold and dried out fish that seemed to have been sitting under the heater for a while. After I got home, I called the manager explaining that I had ordered corn nuggets and they gave me corn. The manager (Edward) told me there was nothing he could do because the were closed. I have worked managing jobs in the food industry, and that is not how you handle an upset customer. I then asked him what his name was and he answered back with the question "Why!?". I have never been so upset with someone in the food industry. He then avoided giving me his name with telling me that they were closed. I am not one to complain about food, but I had a very long day at work (as well as others). This is last thing I had on my mind was writing a bad letter to complain about someone, let alone a manager.

service
On Wednesday January 3rd at 8:30pm I drove to chicken express on 136 E Belt Line Rd, Coppell, TX 75019 to buy a family meal as I was under the weather and I did not want to cook and get my family sick. I made it to the drive through and no cars were waiting. I sat there for 5 minutes and no one answered to take my order. I drove by the window and girls were just standing around talking. I call a few times to speak to the manager and the phone was busy. I finally got through and expressed my concern. The excuse was the mic wasn't working but no one came out to inform me. Never was a offered to return and receive a discount as accommodation. The manager was okay with me not returning to this location. Very sad!
rudeness
If anyone really knows me they know I like unsweet tea and my tea of choice for the past couple of years has been from Chicken Express in the form of a gallon. I frequent the business a few days per week but lately the tea has been sour. I usually order in the drive thru and ask for fresh tea. The last 2 times I went, the manager seemed to have an attitude when the girls took the 3-4 day old tea back to the refrigerator and had to make me a fresh gallon. Today, they tried to give me tea with a "7" on the cap, which means it was brewed on Sunday. I do not want 4 day old tea! So when I kindly asked the girl to make me a fresh one the manager Garrett Bednarsky hopped over there and grabbed the jug as he gave me a glare. He said something to the 2 females and they started laughing as he took the full, old jug over to the dispenser. There he poured a little out of the top and then tried to top it off with fresh tea. He got another cap and put a "3" on it and brought it to the window. I told him I was watching what he did and that I did not want old tea and I did not appreciate the way he thought he was just going to push it off on me like I'm some [censor]. He proceeded to tell me that I was the only person that comes through the drive thru asking for fresh unsweet tea. He said from now on if I don't want the tea they give me I will have to come inside and buy an empty gallon jug and get my own tea. I told him I was a paying customer and if I wanted fresh tea that was my choice. He then told me that unsweet tea never goes bad because there is no sugar in it for it to ferment. I told him that was [censor] and that I worked in restaurant management for long enough and had drank tea my entire life to know better. Then he told me to take my fresh tea home and drink it and to get out of his drive thru line. Note: I was the ONLY person in line, a car was pulling off as I approached the window and no one ever pulled up behind me.
rude service lack of professional manner
It was the second time that my food I ordered and payed for was not in my bag ordered drove home with my 39.00 family size order to find out that not all my food was there, now mind you it's the second time first time I let it slide, not this time so I drove back it's 44 degrees outside start my car back up n drive back. So when I get to the chicken express on Lake Ridge in Grand Prairie I walk in to ask for my mashed potatoes . As I start to explain that I need my mashed potatoes that I've payed for with my receipt in hand all your staff including your manager giggled and smirked and hissed under their breath turning around with smiles as if I was asking for free food never felt so terrible and humiliated ! Your staff at this restaurant is horrible! I'm not coming back here again !
being given incorrect receipt
CE Frisco, TX
6380 Preston Rd
FRISCO, Texas, 75035
Today 12-01-2017 I went into the store listed above and bought a lunch special and paid for it with my credit card. When I received my receipt I noticed it said I had paid in cash. When I questioned this receipt and asked for a correct one reflecting my payment with credit card I was told all the receipts came out saying that the customer had paid in cash instead of with a credit card. This is unacceptable. I was finally, after several minutes given a correct receipt but this is not the proper way for customers to get receipts when they need to keep accounting for tax purposes. Why should a customer have to ask for a proper receipt? Or is this how CE keeps tax records. Do you say people paid in cash when they actually paid with a card? I don't think the IRS would approve of your accounting records in this way.
When I went to the CE website to make my complaint their website only gives information to contact the individual stores with complaints instead of a corporate office. Why? I already complained to them but left feeling like this would continue to be an ongoing problem that would not be addressed.
employee
I went in and nobody was at the front when a employee (women with red hair) cam thru the door . Asked I had been helped . She reeked like frieght train of cigarette smoke. Very bad that the smoke overcame the chicken smell. I even told her that she smelled of smoke . She said sorry I just got off break . I also noticed she didn't was her hands . As she smokes and handles money . Shaw also handles food witch is very unsanitary. She has reddish hair and has tattoos .was seen handling chicken, money and of course smoking as she said she just came back from break and who knows what else she handles while on break.
Yes I think your right about what she does is her business . But I also think That you should mind your own business as well and keep your nose out of it . If people would keep there nose out instead of in my butt, nobody would get mad and I wouldn’t go and actually complain like I’m fixing to do . You must not have a life and must be old that you like reading and replying to people’s complaints . Unless you like brown nosing
I’m not going to keep that to myself . Smoke is very nasty .and should not be smoked in a eating facility . If she was a cleaner person she would of washed her hands and Mabe not smoke . .she reeked of smoke something you were not there for . So maybe you should keep your thoughts to your self . Unless you were there to see . To be across the counter and smell her smoke that is pretty bad considering my sense of smell is not that great .
"and should not be smoked in a eating facility."
So was she smoking inside or outside during her break? If it was actually in the restaurant then she definitely should not have been doing that. If she was smoking outside on her break then that is her business, not yours. Being a smoker doesn't necessarily make someone an unclean person. I find it interesting that you are telling me to keep my thoughts to myself when you are refusing to do so yourself.
She definitely should have washed her hands after break. Is it possible that she did it in the back or before she greeted you? Besides that, it was not very polite of you to point out that she smelled of smoke. She probably knew and in the middle of her shift there is not much she can do about it. That is something you should consider keeping to yourself.
I know it’s not polite but she should take better care of herself and not smell like a train. If I’m across the counter and I smell her that is pretty bad. And for you maybe you should keep to yourself as well and not hide behind a computer to tell me things . If you smell I will tell you I’m not going to hold back . Your probably a chain smoker too
I'm not sure why I need to keep to myself on a public forum. Also, I don't smoke and actually have asthma.
The only other alternative she would have had on a break would be to douse herself in perfume, and that actually might be worse for other customers/employees.
order wrong/ manager not allowed to replace the order
I went to the Denison Tx location and ordered dinner for my family. Family meal #30 30 tenders 3 family sides and rolls. Before we left we had the employee working the menu read back the order and asked iif it was all in the bag! WELL we get home it was wrong in fact missing one of our sides. I live 20 mins from the store. (The order was placed at 5:51 pm I called the store at 6:19 pm) So I called after i got home and got everything unpacked to let them know my family orka was missing. I told the manager Terry that I would bring it all back because I didn't want to eat cold food or reheated food and neither should me or my Family have to. What i got told next was well to be honest its mind blowing when the manager (TERRY) states per her GM she cant help me! I am sorry but our GM Kristina will not allow food to be replaced. I can't understand this CE made the mistake I didn't. So I paid for not only food i didn't receive but to eat my food cold! I paid 42.00 for this kind of service. I want my money back, and to understand how this even OK by any standards!

chicken tenders
I went to chicken express in arlington on 5877 s. Cooper st. To order the 12 piece chicken strip meal deal. After getting home with the food, my grand daughter noticed that most of the strips where over cooked. So i called the store back and talked to mike to see if could get it exchanged out. He asked if i kept the receipt, i explained to him that i didn't keep it because i never would have thought i would have had to return the food but i can bring him the strips back. He says, "no'.
I asked for the manager over him. He says there is no one but him and the owner named ben, never would be available to speak to. Chicken express food isn't worth purchasing at this location
