Coles Supermarkets Australia staff

I did shopping at 545 tonight 8th of December. As I when through the check out i notice the staff member in pain I asked if she was ok she started to cry and stated that that she hurt her knee while working. I stated to her that she should of gone home .she told me that her store manager told her she has to stay .i fine this disgusting to make a staff member stay at work when she has hurt her self and to make her stand on her feet with a sore knee .what sort of management would make one of there staff stay ? This is awful to see someone in pain like she was to be still working .i bet if it was the manager that she would go home .all I can say is this store in my town makes me sick and disgusted to thing that this is how you treat one of there own

Coles Supermarkets Australia call centre

Fix your call centre systems. I find it incredible that in 2016 you still need to use an external or even internal Translator service for short calls. I've just been on the phone with your services to help my mother activate her card and she was refused to be spoken to because of her broken English. I do understand the need for translators as our country is a melting pot of languages. I do not however, understand the rudeness and bluntness in which your workers handle such situations. I was there to translate every single word and yet your representative found it unacceptable and also would not permit me to listen in. I know you have rules or regulations that must be enforced, however in my honest opinion your call centres rules are outdated and need to be reprogrammed asap; especially during the busy Christmas and holiday period. Perhaps the solution is to find less rude employees to accommodate to the vast plethora of International Languages and peoples that inhabit our great Australian nation.

Coles Supermarkets Australia customer service

On Saturday 3 December 2016 at Coles Kens ington Village Brisbane I did a large shop. As there was only one register open and a queue I used the self serve. When I paid with my credit card the machine showed a message the attendant did not recognise. The manager took one look and said "oh it was doing this yesterday thought it was fixed." She asked me to come to the service counter and then basically said the fault meant she couldn't just charge me there and said "where's your trolley I'm going to have to rescan everything". NOT ONCE WAS THERE AN APOLOGY. I was naturally furious - "oh it won't take long." That wasn't the point - I was operating to a schedule and this wasn't part of it. It was all said and done as if it was a regular occurrence for customers. To add to this I had specifically asked that a number of items left unpacked were to be taken from a voucher I gave her. When I came back to her when she had finished RESCANNING my groceries she had put them in with my original purchase AND used the voucher off the total. When I said again how unhappy I was and that I should get a discount she then, and only then, said that she had not charged me for my water. I then commented on the fact that the machine was obviously faulty thensay before and she said it normally corrects overnight and that it can't be checked until someone uses it. WHAT A JOKE - CUSTOMER SERVICE! It was ONLY at this stage that she made what can only be described as a half hearted apology. I have also just realised that due to the RESCANNING my flybuys card was not scanned resulting in no points and now I am not registered as having completed my second week of purchases. This episode left me absolutely furious, disappointed and totally disrupted and basically ruined my planned busy day of shopping.

Coles Supermarkets Australia deli dept

I bought a pack of hot twiggy at Coles in Wonthaggi today 3rd Dec 16. On the pre package twiggy sticks said 500g (sealed pack) on the sticker print by a deli staff said 502g. There is a different between the factory's and coles's scale. There for every customer buying food at Coles deli will have to pay 2gs more on the average 500g. It will make a big different if we put it on the nation wide scale. I am seeking for the answer from Coles.

Thanh Thanh lu

Coles Supermarkets Australia chicken

I purchsed a packet of chicken from coles on Sunday and have cooked and prepared the chicken as normal. When eating the chicken I found a bone and a small peice of string (only 1cm in length). I found the bone while chewing on the chicken and it punctured the side of my gum and the string from digging around scared to find another bone. The chicken was then not edible as I was fearful of finding more bones!

Coles Supermarkets Australia paws 3kg dog meat

I am very disappointed and annoyed that Coles have let me down with having this product in store on numerous occasions, I have complained a few times to the management but it always comes across as they are not really concerned about my needs or there is really zero care factor which is not really good for keeping customers, I use to do all of my shopping at this store but I have animals that only eat this product and it is always my priority to buy at least 2 bags a week but since the product is not always there I have been forced to shop at my local Woolworths store to get this meat as they always have it in stock so I am considering shopping at Woolworths now as they always seem to have everything I need in store, where as this Coles at Haynes Western Australia does not always meet my demands, once again I am very disappointed in the service from Coles themselves as well as the management at this particular store, so you have potentially lost a customer that spends at least 200 plus a week at the store over a week, I am not the only one who has had issues with things here either so maybe a review of the store, ordering system and availability to your customers should have a big overhaul, thank you.

Coles Supermarkets Australia coles in store made wraps

When your new Caversham, WA store opened, they made in-store wraps. We made it our point to by-pass Woolies because of these fresh wraps. Today, when we asked a store attendant why there had not been any wraps for over 2 weeks, we were informed that the wrap making machine had been given to a south of the river store.
Who-ever decided that this was beneficial to both stores needs their individual head read. One of the major draw cards to this store is the daily fresh wraps. Surely the cost of such a machine is not so prohibitive that a new one could not have been purchased for the southern store or are there politics involved? The Caversham store has a young manager with a young (or young at heart) crew who do not need to be bullied by other managers to this stores detriment.

Coles Supermarkets Australia behavior of staff

Store Manager: Dale Davidson
Register:118
Receipt: 4154
Store: 7735 - CS DONCASTER

During this event I was so angry and embarrassed about the events that till this moment over 10 hours later - I still want this employee fired for the rudeness and unrightful treatment of customers and illogical behaviour. Here is a account of the event which occurred,

On the 29/11/2016 at around 11:31, I was shopping at Westfield Doncaster Colse. That day I had brought a lot of stuff at colse and from other shops.

I had came to Colse 3 days earlier that day and already put my stuff in on the car.

The 4th time i walked into Colse to buy items, I used the self checkout like previously however this time i accidentally forgot to take the receipt.

As i was walking out carrying loads of stuff, an white ( not to be racist or anything) young short ( under 160) female employee stopped me and exclaimed loudly that " You didn't pay" - not "if i can please see your receipt" just " You didn't pay" . Not only was that rude but it made me look like a was caught stealing - even it that wasn't the case.

So i tried to find the receipt - using my already full hands but u couldn't find the right one ( i had taken out the previous receipts of my past purchases), so i was getting scared as I had no idea of where my receipt was, and trust me, with my limited English expression skills - i was pretty scared and found it pretty hard to express what i meant so it seemed like i was stuttering because i was scared and did the wrong thing to the audience.

Then i offered her to check my credit card transactions as i had used my credit card or the camera and it could prove that i had in fact paid for the goods.

She replied with "No"

So then, i didn't know what to do as i was very nervous and scared to be caught up in the whole scenario - just because i didn't get my receipt.

I asked" But how can i prove that i payed for my goods"

She merely said " If you can't show me that receipt then you didn't pay"

At that stage the majority of people were staring at me. It has terrifying and embarrassing.

So i just saw that the people who were using my station which i had previously saw leave and there was a paper on the floor. I picked it up and it turned out to be my receipt.

The employee just muttered " Sorry" in a very sarcastic tone and just walked away.

I'm sorry, but i hadn't realised that this was the way colse employee are trained to behave. To so casually and forcefully proclaim that a customer had been shoplifting with no proof and state that there is no way to prove it without the receipt.

I really want something to be done with it as that employee is bringing down the customer service for colse and is the reason colse is getting a bad name around the area for bad customer service.

Coles Supermarkets Australia pre packed salad

I bought a prepacked 4 leaf salad pack. It says washed and ready to eat, but unfortunately I found a bug or insect on a leaf. This product is suppose to be ready for eat if they washed it properly. This is wrong and if a child eat this leaf with a bug could get sick. It's an offence to give false information and sell these kinds of food without checking it. It happened in Coles supermarket noble park.

Coles Supermarkets Australia leg of lamb

I bought a leg of lamb which my Husband started to roast on the Weber BBQ. I came home and thought a funny smell, didn't take much notice. At 6.30 (guests due at 7pm) went out and felt very uneasy about the lamb. Tasted some from the shank and it was inedible.
I phoned Coles and told them of my problem and said I would like it replaced with cutlets as time was running out. We rushed up there with the wrapper from the meat (quite smelly) and collected the cutlets and were given 3 x $2 vouchers, a bit insulting as they have to be redeemed one at a time.
I spoke to two Coles official looking gentlemen the following Monday and they were very cool. I though the very least they should have offered another leg of lamb for all our stress. Didn't give a good impression about Coles to our visitors.
I am a Shareholder and think that I would like to see better customer support. (The original girl handled it very quickly)

The fact that they assisted you quickly is perfect service in and of itself. You were offered a discount after the fact which was not required and a kind bonus. You are simply being entitled and ridiculous. They did not have to offer you any discounts or deals at all. A kind apology would have been service enough. They went above and beyond.

Coles Supermarkets Australia store was not open at 6 am. as advertised

I needed to do an early shop because I had other duties to attend and I arrived at 6.05 am to find the doors closed. There were staff in the store and my knocking on the door was totally ignored. I had forgotten a discount coupon so I drove home to collect it and returned to the store at 6.35 am. The doors were still closed and persistent knocking on the door was still ignored. There were several other customers also wanting to shop. There was no explanation as to why a store that I regularly shop at every Saturday morning was not open at the advertised time and unless I receive an apology (written) I will not be shopping at this store in the future. I went to the Glen Coles store which opened on the dot of 7 am as advertised but this created its own problems as I was not familiar with the store layout and the quality and quantity of the fruit and vegetables left a lot to be desired.
Given that the service of stores has deteriorated over the last few months and that there is now cheaper competition, please explain why I should not change my shopping habits and spend my money which amounts to nearly $10, 000. per annum at a more CONVENIENT and obliging store.

Coles Supermarkets Australia cigarette counter/12 items or less counter - katie

Coles, Mt Warren Park, QLD 4207 - Around 5.30pm tonight (25/11/16), I was waiting my turn at the 'Express' till, where a lady in front of me was waiting for some Gift Cards which Katie was getting from the cigarette counter. She helped a lady at the counter, while she was at that side. Then returned to continue help the lady with the gift cards. I could see that the operator, Katie was trying to help at both counters (which isn't always easy). There was another woman waiting at the cigarette counter also waiting for service. She called out at Katie, saying " I was here before her". Another staff member helped her, and she then asked for the manager to lay a complaint against Katie. I chose not to get involved at this point, when the manager came as I could see that she was really becoming agitated. I would like to say that Katie was trying her best to keep everyone happy, but unfortunately some people love the drama that goes with complaining. I am writing this as I don't think that Katie (who really did keep her cool with a very rude woman) deserved to be chastised for something that was out of her control. If you would like any other information with regard to this incident, please do not hesitate to contact myself. Kind regards, Mrs Carol Taylor [protected]

Coles Supermarkets Australia gifts cards

I sent the below message to the Coles Facebook Page and recieved no response.

Hi there, I bought some Coles gift cards online with my points. Although I shop at Coles regularly I wanted to use the cards to get bcf gift cards to buy my dad a fishing rod for Christmas. When I got to the counter I've been told I can't use gift cards to buy gift cards. Firstly, if the card is considered cash why not? And secondly I didn't get any prompts prior to purchasing the gift card as to the fine print, I only now seem them on my egift card now that I've actually purchased them. What's the go with this anyway? If the card is considered cash, what is the problem with paying for another gift card? You still get the cash! I still buy a product from Coles! It would be appreciated if someone could clarify what is going on here. I've bought $250 of gift cards for the specific purpose of buying another card, and although I'd normally spend that much in Coles regularly, I'm rather displeased about having my hands tied on my own cash.

Update after calling customer service.

I called customer service and was told firstly that due to an infrastructure issue Coles can't swipe a card to pay for a card. Firstly I think that's rubbish but even if it's true it's completely unacceptable. You can't provide the service I paid for?
I was then told that there was nothing the company could do for me. In all honesty the guy I spoke to Chetan in customer service was pretty nice about it and was just well in over his head.

I suspect that the real reason that you defy the first part of your terms and conditions is because there's a much greater profit margin on $250 of grapes than a $250 dollar bcf gift card.

Now if that is the case, that is completely unacceptable, because my $250 of gift cards I bought with my own points aren't worth $250 in store! I proposed that Chetan ask his manager to convert my $250 back into cash given that you don't apparently have the infrastructure to deliver the service. I was told again that his manager said that theres nothing that coles can do for me. Would you be happy with that?

It's not a gift card, it's a shaft card. Locking consumers into bring forced to spend their dollars with Coles! And taking no for an answer when you try to buy another gift card. You'll happily take my $250 in cash to buy bcf gift cards but you won't take $250 of Coles cards I bought myself with my points.

Apparently it's always been this way as I was told by the staff at the Stanhope Gardens store. You ask yourself if you would be satisfied with that for an answer. When it's your money.

Coles Supermarkets Australia fuji apples

Hello yesterday I did our huge shop for my family of 4 and husband. I bought 2 kg of Fuji apples, and they are all rotten! At 5$ a kilo that's a complete joke. I spend so much money at your store and the apples are always more often than not rotten. I didn't keep my reciept so I cannot send them back, and get my money back. I spent 13$ on apples, and just threw them all away. Not a happy customer...

These flat breads were very popular and am still shocked it has been sent to another store. I now have to drive to Ellenbrook to get them.

Coles Supermarkets Australia tunstall road, doncaster, victoria, supermarket

I have been shopping at this store for many, many years. Recently, I moved but although Woolworths is closer, I still shop at the Tunstall Coles Supermarket because I am familiar with the layout, etc. This store has now undergone significant changes in layout. The "centre" aisle has now been removed so the aisles have become much longer and, therefore, there is the need to walk further especially when you forget an item which is in another aisle. As I am getting older and have a problem with my foot, on Monday I found this very difficult (the first time I had shopped there since the alteration). I now feel it will be easier for me to shop at Woolworths in the future.
When changes like this take place, I wonder if management consult shoppers to gain their opinion. There were many shoppers walking around with frustrated faces.

Coles Supermarkets Australia british sausages

I bought some Irish Sausages and Cumberland sausages from your new range of British Meats.
The flavour and texture of the sausages were first class.
Best sausages on sale in Australia.
However, Coles have a problem with their manufacturer, all the sausages both the Irish and Cumberland sausages had lots of ground up bone in them, which ruins the eating experience.
Please find out why your supplier is making this error. Sausages are meat not bone to chew on and get stuck in your teeth. First class flavour, but let down by meat containing bone.

The Cumberland sausages on sale in Coles and Woolworths have nothing whatsoever to do with the traditional sausage rings of that name made in the modern county of Cumbria.

They taste NOTHING like a Cumberland sausage. THAT is as fundamental a complaint about a sausage as you can get. How do I know? Well, for a start, I lived for 52 years in Britain and was a regular visitor to the Lake District. Even the M6 motorway service station at Tebay offers something much more akin to a Cumberland sausage than Coles's and Woolies's miserable lumps of lard. UK motorway service stations have a running reputation for crap fare! Additionally, based on my knowledge, I make Cumberland-style sausages and Lincolnshire-style sausages for home consumption; it is one of my hobbies.

Send your marketing managers to the Lake District. A packet of Kendal Mint Cake might sweeten them up and make them more amenable to sourcing GENUINE recipes. While they're at it, have them delve into the legalities of using a product for commercial purposes, which has a protected geographical indicator. I shall be following this one up.

The photo here is of my own latest effort.
