Florida Power & Light [FPL] fpl lies.

FPL, and indirectly I am sure, we the tax payer, contract thousands of workers to assist in getting the power back to millions of customers in South Florida after Hurricane Irma. I am told the largest workforce ever assembled of 12, 000 people ready to get power back on. Within 72 hours of the storm, we are told that apps 60% of the power is restored. By Friday 9/15, we are told 85% of power is restored.

In my neighborhood, that number is close to 90-95% yet, there are literally hundreds of us with no power at the end of the day on 9/16 and worse still, we see little no crews in our vicinity at all. In fact none today. So where is this army? Why have they been sent home? Why can they not be dispatched if 90% of the problem is remedied?

I think FPL is BS. We have had repeated power issues in our section for years irrespective of this storm. FPL has no motivation to do anything about it because what choice have we but them?

I can understand the first 5 days of this they would make it impossible to connect to a live agent. Everyone wants their power on but now, 6 days after the storm with 90% of it remedied, why can we not reach a live agent? Why can we not find out exactly why in Broward County, (we are not talking South Dade, the Keys, Marco Island or Jacksonville...) we are sitting powerless and we SEE NO ONE, NOT A SINGLE CREW OUT TRYING TO REPAIR ANYTHING?

Worse still, their automated site simply keeps changing the restore date to the following day at 11:45 every day at 6PM. Clearly, their automated system is like they are, full of feces with no real or tangible truth.

Some people want to make a large deal out of the fact that power was restored for the most part in days...as if the company should receive a heroes welcome for turning on the power...meantime, more people in this state DIED from not having power on the pursuant sunny days than died IN THE STORM!

I am sorry but I for one give them zero pass. They suck. And of course, there is nothing from them except prewritten automated messages about how they are working around the clock to restore power...well, we cannot find them from 9-5 let alone at 11Pm sending a crew or two from the supposed 12k people that were sent home apparently as soon as they restored enough to prevent a citizens riot.

They bamboozled all of us Floridians when it comes to solar and they are doing it again now by refusing to bury lines underground and make themselves accountable to recurring issues we and others have faced. To me, they suck wind and their are a poor example of what a monopoly company with zero competition and billions in revenue should govern themselves!

To the CEO and those who run it, FU and yours truly! and I mean that from the very bottom of my heart

SB

Florida Power & Light [FPL] power restoration

I live in Marbella Lakes and have been without power since Sept. 10th. The majority of homes close to me have had power since Sept. 12th. My neighbors across the street and 2 doors down from me have power. FPL keeps on notifying me my power has been restored but it hasn't. I have had to put "power out" tickets in every day because the previous ticket I put in gets voided. A few other people in Marbella Lakes are having the same problem and we can get no one from FPL to answer us.

The power situation in Marbella Lakes in Naples is very frustrating to some of the residents here. Most of our community as had power since Tuesday, but a few of us remain in the dark. FPL voided out our "power out" tickets twice last week because they said the power was back on, but it really wasn't. We had to re-submit tickets and now are at the end of the list. There are no downed power lines around here. It probably is not a major problem to get our power back on, but since we all got pushed back on the list we are suffering.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] no power hurricane irma

I have 2 sons including a 1 month old, we still have NO power in our house. FPL keeps promising they are working on this, but I have not seen ONE single truck near our house, nor has anybody from FPL or the city of Miami or coral gables come and cut the HUGE tree in front of my house. Feeling disgust with the lack of respect from FPL to its customers, oh btw there are about 500 FPL trucks PARKED IN FLAGLER CASINO and it's working drinking coffee and talking! Great job FPL!

Florida Power & Light [FPL] still no power 7 days after irma

We have been without power for 7 days! Have not seen 1 single truck in our area. Fpl claims their trucks are working "around the clock"...really?Where are they hiding? This is unacceptable for the amount of money that we pay monthly for service without delay. Our neighbors right across and down the street all have power and we are still here living in the dark, in this heat like if we are in a third world country. I have 3 small children, two elderly parents and we are all in need of electricity! Where is FPL? In the year 2017, with as much money as they take from us, taking this long to restore power is just a slap in the face. Unacceptable! This company is a disgrace.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] partial power

Have had partial power since Hurricane Irma. Only basic lights work and not all in the house. Lost one of my legs to the house so none of my 220 or high wattage things work, like air conditioning, freezer, fridge, water heater, dryer, oven. They say to use their website and app but when you do, they close out the ticket saying your location has power. No power to meter, so maybe the greedy sob's will fix mine quicker so they can start billing again. All the neighbors on my street got it. Try getting ahold of a human at FPL.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] no fpl trucks

Called several times to inform fpl about two down power lines in our neighborhood. One stretches across two to three lawns near the road and the other is hanging from a tree which will fall onto the road. Where are you guys not here in edgewater. Haven't seen any trucks here y'all screwed Volusia County after Hurricane Matthew now again . Fpl y'all suck!

Florida Power & Light [FPL] home hurricane

We have been without power since the storm actually hit Florida. It's been 10 days! I have wires hanging in my yard with 6 very small children and nothing has been done. I have reported this wire more then 5 times and nothing! First, they gave me a date of September 17 then, it was changed to September 19. I nor have any of my neighbors seen an FPL truck or any other truck in our Community. FPL has left the low income communities suffering! Cutler Bay, Pine Crest, Coral Gables, All of them fancy areas have light but, not Homestead nor Fl City! They continue to prospone our electricity giving excuses if they have to see what the problem is! With so many knowledgeable engineers working for FPL they still have not found the reason?

Florida Power & Light [FPL] outage of one street next to fpl substation

We live next door to an fpl substation. For years I have listened to your equipment blow. It never occurred to me that in this disaster we would have no power. It amounts to a fuse hanging down off a pole. The whole subdivision has power, but not Thorn Wood Drive. It is so close to the station, you could walk to it! I have had heat exhaustion. Please take five minutes, and come to Avalon Preserve, right next door. I know you are very busy, but we all would would like to see a truck here. This location is off winkler and summerlin next to your substation.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] incompetent management but great criminals

Driving around, after Hurricane Irma, I saw a maintenance yard full of bucket trucks sitting doing nothing.
FPL has been collecting a "storm charge" ever since Hurricane Charlie in 2004. They have collected nearly $2 billion. What have they done with the money? You can bet they will ask for a charge for Irma.
These people are criminals, hucksters, bloated bureaucrats. People are suffering, some dying SEE Hollywood, FL Nursing Home. FPL could care less!
Hey FPL just try for an increase and the Florida Public Service Commission you entertain any application for an increase you should be run out of town on rail (probably will anyway).

Florida Power & Light [FPL] down lines in residential neighborhood.

At Boca Rio townhomes there has been 3 poles down with the high voltage lines between 4 poles on the ground since Sunday night. They are on a walking path around a small lake in the back yards of several condos and a dozen houses. We have yet to see ANYONE from or working for FPL. The lines are on the ground where many little children live and play! No attempt to make these wires safe has been made and the potential for someone to get killed is incredibly high! To make matters even worse, FPL refuses to accept calls and forces everyone to use a poorly designed and managed automated reporting system. This is company is going to get people killed! This is by far the worst managed restoration effort I have ever seen. I just pray no one gets hurt or killed from those lines. I can understand not being able to repair the poles. But to not even bother with removing the down lines is completely unacceptable and should be criminally negligent!

Florida Power & Light [FPL] fpl company, customer service, supervisor, and workers.

We have been reporting a rusted electrical wire and a leaning poll for the pass year. So far our backyard has caught on fire 3 times this year alone! We was told by the fpl worker that he did a quick fix and he will start a ticket to fix the faulty wiring. Of course they never followed back up! Friday september 8, 2017. The same poll and line caught on fire again which resulted in us losing power, we immediately called them but they immediately blame the situation on hurricane irma! Even though hurricane irma came in two days later! Please fpl do your job, im paying you for a full service not for you to do half a* work and provide us with faulty lines, terrible customer services team that keeps you on hold for 20mins plus at a time! Or even a supervisor that can't explain why no one has followed up on my tickets this whole year. I have a senior citizen who needs to be on dialysis everyday, and as of today september 15 2017. We still have no power, no one has followed up! Please do better!

Florida Power & Light [FPL] outage

My list of fpl no's
One week no power.
No way to call because they don't take calls.
No update on our outage.
No repair crews anywhere in the neighborhood.
No customer service contact with fpl. Why because they do not want to hear from us.
It's shameful that they go on tv and show trucks and workers leaving staging areas. Question is why the heck are they
No never seen a repair crew in the redlands.

Day six. Still another day without power thanks to FPL. There is no damage to any of the line or poles in the entire neighborhood yet we dont have power and we see no repair crews anywhere. And then today they extended our outage ticket two more day out to the 19th.. WHY WHY WHY? Because they can and they dont give a hoot. You cant call anyone because they dont take calls you dont see anyone because crews are quietly being pulled and shipped to other areas. Its a little dirty secret that they pull. Make it look good on TV the first day like there are thousands of trucks here. Few days later they are being sent north. Its ture and they know it. Shamfull that with this little amount of damage we have so many people still without power. And FPL knows there is nothing we can do about it. So they continue with their lousy customer service and we continue to suffer in 90 plus heat. Send the FPL CEO to spend a week in the heat with no fans, no running water (need electric to run water pumps) no cold fridge for food and see how he likes it.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] my mother lives in an elderly community whose address is 1120 north 14th avenue in hollywood — no power.

My mother is 83 years old. Most of the other tenants are over 70 years old and may be in danger of health problems. Every other house surrounding this complex has its lights except this one though these people are in more need of care. I was told the lights would be restored by the 17th, but now it has been pushed back to the 21st. Throughout the aftermath of hurricane irma there seems to be little or no thought for the elderly. They should be the priority

Florida Power & Light [FPL] power still not on and most my road has power

I've been through way worse hurricaines before in Louisiana and Texas. I live in Sarasota fl, now and it was not bad here. It missed us. FPL is the worst. After 5 days no power and most my street has power, even across the street does. It's sickening they didn't finish giving us power. This block matters too. Fpl is far by the worst power company ever.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] delay to restore power

My neighborhood in Miami gardens is in complete darkness, it has been almost a week since we lost power. Despite the unconfort, heat, and lack of basic necessities. I was a victim of looters.
Looters tried to go into my property and have caused substantial damage. I'm concern about my safety and well being.
I understand there is a high volume of households without power, but I ask to please look into our neighborhood and restore electricity as soon as possible. Unfortunately, this is a high crime area and looters are using this opportunity to harm others.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] power outage

I have never been so disappointed in a company before, it makes me sick, this is my 6th day without power, I created a storm ticket immediately when I lost power on Sunday at 5 AM. For the past week, I have been checking their website every hour on the hour, only to be told yesterday that my power was restored and the ticket was closed and of course it was a lie!
FPL has been increasing their rates every year for the past 10 years to update the grid and be better prepared for storms; however, I find this hard to believe because Hurricane Irma, mostly missed south Florida, we had a strong tropical storm/Cat 1 max winds, let alone 80% of customers lost power. We live in a state where hurricane and tropical storms are the norm, when in season, I find it hard to believe that in the 21st Century the grids and power lines cannot be updated to at minimum sustain Cat 1 winds. I am not a Florida native, I grew up with snow storms and blizzards, and I can say we never lost power due a storm. It's time the grids and power lines are updated to underground ones, or we'll continue to face this year after year, and god forbid we get anything stronger than hurricane like winds, or we'll be without power for months. PLEASE STOP CLOSING MY TICKET! MY BLOCK IS THE ONLY ONE WITHOUT POWER. We do not have a single down wire in our block!

Florida Power & Light [FPL] process under a crisis

We lost power on Sunday under hurricane Irma. We immediately created a ticket. After that, we created 3 more tickets. According to them, their system had a problem and the tickets were erased. Then, we got notification that the power was restored when this was not true. They once again cancelled the ticket. When I called, a very not well trained person told me that is a normal process and it is up to us to fill out the form and create another ticket. As I explained when she kept repeating her script, when you have no power, no internet, no phones, it is impossible to know your ticket is gone. I got lucky because, I found an internet connection at a restaurant and was able to see what happened. I had to run home and tell my neighbors to call once again a report this. Its being a week with no power. They need to do something that once there is a catastrophe like the one we experienced, just one ticket should be enough. They keep deleting the tickets without you knowing and then, we go back to square one. Also, they should tell the employees to me more sympathetic towards people that are experiencing a crisis.

Florida Power & Light [FPL] electricity

After hurricane Irma...FPL workers restored power to 50%of our neighborhood...and then checked us off as having full power and moved to the next neighborhood/grid to be repaired...
In the meantime ...we still have no power and FPL is not taking phone calls only automated response... They think we have power and here half the neighborhood is still suffering with no power...there are elderly and infants living in overheated homes...Already 11 people have died at a nursing home due to no a/c...are we just suppose to sit here waiting forever?
