Whether it’s Conrex or changed the name to Maymont Homes it’s still a scam!
This is the second complaint I am making regarding this property. I filed the last one back in July/August due to serious maintenance issues not being addressed. After reporting the companiy to literally everywhere I could they sent junkies in to “fix my home” who in turn did half of the job and stole from me and my children. My home was uninhabitable for over two months. In conrex terms a little over a month. I have in writing from conrex that I would be reimbursed from July 28th-August 14th -That still has not happened I get every excuse in the book even though I have a email from the resolutions manager. From August 14-28 they arraigned for me to go to a roach infested hotel which I did check in, but due to the roaches I did not stay. I called and requested another reservation somewhere else, this was not provided. I was told I was not being credited because they were charged for this hotel stay. Tiffany-the resolutions manager advised me if I could get the money refunded I would be credited from July 28-August 28th. I jumped through hoops and got it refunded (which they could have done themselves) and still nothing. On top on that there is now retaliation ongoing from the property. Every other week I get a bogus violation or more charges without cause added to my account. PRC (rental assistance) paid my rent for December and yet I was still forced to pay it too or be evicted. I have a ESA service animal and have turned in all required documentation but constantly get threatened of pet deposits and backdated pet rent even after confirming his documentation was received with their attorney. The company changed their name to Maymont homes- I assuming because of so many bad reviews! I would really love to not be threatened to put out of the dump that I live in every other week for no reason and the company to correct the remainder of the issues in the home, apply the credits I am owed and leave us alone until our lease is up!
Recommendation: Run! Do not rent from them.

I toke ownership of the property by Conrex in Orange Park Florida on 8/21/2023. The property was location at 1955 Hazel Nut Run E, Orange Park FL. It became very clear that there were animals living in the attic. The neighbor has told me multiple times that the previous tenant reported the animals for month. I submitted countless maintenance request for the pest starting less than one week after moving in since August 28h.
Someone was finally scheduled to look at the property 9/13/23. I was told there are squirrels and rats in the attic. There are over 6 spots that have been chewed through. There is extensive damage to the wires, roof, and metal pipes. The maintenance team contacted me and said that they were given a request to remove a dead animal. They needed to take the appropriate steps to kill the animals prior to removing them. This felt like a game.
On 9/16/2023, 3 weeks after moving in, I woke up to bug bites, which at first didn’t look “terrible.” The following day I noticed that they had been increasing in size. On Monday September 18th, I had to leave work to head to urgent care. I was told to go to the ER if the swelling became worse, which it did. I was seen immediately due to the large rash and a blood pressure of 180/110. I blood was coagulating and clotting. It’s a good thing I went to the hospital. It’s been almost 6 weeks and I still have bruising.
My son has been bitten in the face by bugs. The bugs have been identified as adult bedbugs, cockroach, spiders, earwigs, fleas, frogs, and moths, which all take months to reach adulthood. I did not personally ID all the bugs. I trusted the word of the pest treaters after I showed them photos I had taken. Again, not my area. Those where is addition to rats and squalls in the attic. A little regard for human life would be nice.
In 2017 I fell and suffered a L1 compression fracture. Basically, I broke my back. Since Conex did not take any action for weeks, I was forced to spend hour each night cleaning and bombing the house to prevent my son or myself from being attack by bugs. Due to my injuries and inherited problem for daring to move into their property, my back has been hurting so severely there have been countless nights where I could barely walk. I have spent every day since 9/17/2023 cleaning this place. I’ve been working for 8 am until 12 or 1 AM every night.
I’ve kept the company fully aware of the issue. It’s been almost a month since it was reported to the company. They have sent people over for quotes but have done nothing. I was told there is a feces and urine in the attic. The insulation has been destroyed and they are chewing on the wires. They have also chewed through the roof in several different places including a metal pipe. I’m not even able to safely prepare food or use my kitchen as that is their bathroom and the ceiling is falling apart.
The company is now telling me I must pay them more than $4,000 to move even though I have given them proper notice to make the repairs with a 7-day notice. The first request was on 8/28/203 for repairs. First legal notice was on 9/20/2023. I informed them that they had until the end of the month to make the repairs. Per Florida law, they have “constructively evicted” me. The only reason I have not left is because all my property is infected with bugs. I’m not bring bugs to a new location. I refused to pay for anther property to have another outbreak.
I have bombed this place twice. The chemical has caused my son’s asthma to act up. There have been several days I almost brought him to the hospital on numerous occasions. During the 2nd bombing, I had taken my son to a hotel to keep him safe from the chemicals. My son was taken by ambulance from this property a few weeks before. It’s well known that cockroaches cause allergic reactions. My son is also allergic to animals. The filter from the furnace was caked in dog hairs. Really makes one think about who’s life they will risk for another dollar.
In addition to the countless pest, Conrex did not pay their bills prior to me moving in. They are trying to charge me $360 dollars for 36 days on the water bill. The total amount due for 2 weeks water and 3 electric and fees was $421.00. The meter was read on September 5th, which means I’m being charges for the full month of August. I was only there 16 days. I was also charged on my electric bill for time I wasn’t in the property. The billing period started on 8/15/23. I token over the property on 8/21/2023. The water bill seems to be excessively high due to a water leak of some sort. They also tried to stick me with their late fees. After consulting with numerous people, I was told the average water bill is $60 a month. Therefore, my bill should only be about $30 since I was only here for 11 out of the 35-day billing cycle when the meter was read. I am not going to pay their bills and inherit the property's problems just because I moved in.
After speaking with the billing company, I agreed to pay only $180.00. I felt as though this amount was more than fair for my limited time on the property. When making the payment, I was told any leftover balance would be sent to Conrex. I confirmed this was a 1-time payment. That they could not keep my information on file or charge me.
On 10/31/2023 the billing company helped themselves to my bank account without authorization. I spoke to the company since a fraud claim with my bank required it. While on the phone, I was told that I was required to have a payment on file and when I signed up for the site, I was signing away my right prevent them from robbing me without notice when the account was closed. On 11/1/2023, I received another bill for $156 (fees included). I did not authorize any payment. This is financial exploitation.
How you’re forced to pay your bills is a scam. The company require you to pay Click Pay $25 to open your rent billing account. The water, sewer, and electricity are taken care of by 1 and only 1 company. For the “privilege” of Conrex keeping the bill in their name, they can charge you for their bills and a $25 dollar account activation and $11 monthly. That almost $200 in fees to pay 2 companies. They also fail to tell you about their 5% fee for using a debit card. In addition to any charges, they fail to tell you that you’re paying their bills while you didn’t live in the property. What a scam!
What a scam! Look at the BBB complaints and online comments. They have done this to too many people and have gotten away with it. I’m not one to just sit back and take it. Action needs to be taken. What a scam!
Worse than I nightmare, this company has put me through hell. My 4-year-olds and myself have been put in a serious situation risking contraction of disease or death. Conrex has known about these issues for seven months. The property has “negligence per se” the property. Under Florida law I am allowed to live in a safe environment free of pests. They were fully aware of this problem and broke the law (FL Statute Section 83.51) by not addressing it prior to me moving in or the last tenants’ complaints and/or not resolving the issue more than 44 days since the complaint was filed and my concerns have not been addressed.
I provided Conrex with an email and posted letter because they refused to take any action. The first notice was on 9/20/2023. I was contacted by Tiffany, who is the customer service agent. She wanted to know a firm date as to when I would move. I was told that I would need to pay $500 for giving less than 30 days’ notice and two months’ rent. Based on their reviews, I know they will take my security. To move my son and I to a safe location, I’m being extorted for more than 5g.
I attempted to work with Conrex to make the repairs. They did send someone to spay the bugs at the end of September to sprayed for bugs. He set a trap while he was in the attic setting off some kind of pest killer. I received a call information me that he caught a rat within minutes.
I noticed some decrease in activity and the side of the bites but found over 5 bites on different occasions on my neck. I felt scared to sleep there. I worried about the bugs attacking my son. I couldn’t really afford to move. I just spend over $10,000 to move here. I was tapped out because of the move cost and expenses I was paying to try and clean up that place.
After countless call and maintenance request, Conrex finally sent someone out to official trap the animals and seal off the house. I thought they did a good job, but that’s not my area. They pulled down several nest and replaced the area (wire stuff) where the animals had been entering the property. The company trapped two squirrels They also pulled out several dead rats.
On 10/5/2023, I was on one of my many calls with Tiffany. I had given a list of repairs that needed to be completed to fulfill the 7-day notice. I really didn’t think cleaning up animal’s waste over my sink would be unreasonable. I had been told that the contractors for the ceiling would not work on the project until the waste had been cleaned up on 10/4/2023. It was finally at that point that she opened the photo of the ceiling. I heard her gasp. She put us into a motel that night and submitted a maintenance request to have to the place leaned and bugs removed.
First thing on the morning of 10/6/2023, I received two different emails closing out the maintenance request. I was informed via email that no more repairs had been planned by the maintenance teams. WOW, just WOW. Not only had my request and legal demands had been ignored, but the customer services request by Tiffany had also been completed. I knew I could no longer stay in that house. It was no longer something I could or would risk. I felt like I couldn’t have done more. I gave up on the property. I wrote them notice that we would be leaving per our legal right. Conrex decided the place was still not safe, so they paid for the motel for 4 more nights. They proved my point for me. I paid when we were homeless. It wasn’t safe.
We had no hot water at the motel. We returned shortly over the weekend to bath. I decided it was best to stay out of the hotel. I guess they thought I would forget about the problem after 5 days. The motel wasn’t nice. Someone had been shot and killed during our weekend here at the hotel across the street, but it was still safer than the house I was paying 1700 a month for.
On 10/9/2023, I reached out to the company and explained why I was upset. I pointed out that they had completed some of the work. That I was willing to work with them. I didn’t want to move my son and be out several grand for a new place. Since Conrex only paid for the hotel until the morning of 10/10/2023, I decided to extend the room thinking Conrex would solve this and we could return to the property. Live our happy ever after ever in Florida. The one I promised my son but had not been able to deliver on due to Corex’s mess and greed.
On 10/10/2023, I received a collection notice from Conrex. Not only do they rent houses, but they also have a collects agency for all the poor people they have scammed. During my call. I was lied to and told they put a 3-day notice on my door on 10/7/2023. This was clearly a lie. Jonas, I, and the animal trapped had been there on the weekend. None of us saw any notice. I called the Clerk of Courts and asked about the filing. I was told nothing had been filed. I looked up the state database, but again, nothing. I emailed Conrex and asked for a photo and time stamp. They served me the next day.
On 10/11/2023, I spoke with my attorney and was advised my best action was to move out. I hired a set of workers from moving ready. The cost was $260. At first there was two men. One basically refused the job and called his boss. He told me that he had a family and didn’t want to rise bringing any of the bugs home to his family. He absolutely refused to touch the mattress. I understood his point. He had a family. Who wants this. I was told they would return with clothing they could change. I gave them $100 as a tip. Served 3-day notice.
I am a remote employee for a major medial hospital and could not afford to miss work for more reasons than 1. My patients count on me, so I returned to the home to work on Monday and Tuesday at 8-4:30ish.
I did the best to explain to my son why we were homeless. More than half of our belonging had already been placed in trash bags to attempt to rid the property of bugs. We never had time to unpack as I was so busy cleaning and trying to keep us safe. What my son understood was that that was the bug house. That we had no home, and he would again have to transfer daycares.
Currently I have accounted for 70 hours of work cleaning this property for Conrex. I am asking that I am awarded compensation based upon their rates. Their app which requires you to submit maintenance requests clearly states that if I am at fault, I will be charged $100 for the first hour and $50 after that. Well, I don't see how my time is any less valuable than theirs.
They robbed me of weeks of time, energy, and soul. No one should have to suffer and be put in this serious of a situation while being paying $1700 a month, their bills, extra fees, and a motel, medical bills, lost wages, supplies, damages, and expenses due to their actions. I’m being told they don’t have insurance to cover anything. That I am SOL. This place was never habitable. This company should be shut down.

Terrible company to rent from. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! When my roommates and I were applying for a house they screwed us out of multiple houses because they wouldn't return my calls until after the property was gone. Got told that since we were approved but weren't able to get the house we were approved for any other house we wanted. Found another house, same thing. Did not pick up or even return my call. Got told our leasing agent was on lunch break, it was 10:00 in the morning... When we did finally get a house half to electrical sockets didn't work. The Tech was very nice and understanding so I'm imagining that he was from outside the company. Whenever I had a question regarding our lease and tried to call I got the same BS excuse, your leasing agent was one lunch break, take note that I called between the hours of 9AM-11AM and 2PM-4PM so that doesn't really track in my opinion. Tried to email, never got a return on one of the 20 to 30 emails I sent out. Used their "preferred" method for utilities and was a total nightmare. They are very neglectful about sending statements out. So my bills some months would be 4-500$ because of their laziness. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.

Conrex = no good!
I will be short. But my first time ever renting in my 47 years is the worst experience. I only rented because I sold my home I’ve lived in for years. This was a bad choice to do business with is company. They will over charge you with excessive amounts for repairs after you have moved out beyond normal wear and tear. My family and I made sure to leave property in good condition but they are charging us like we destroyed the property. We are currently working with an attorney to resolve this issue. I would advise you to avoid conrex. Read all their reviews on all platforms.

Pathetic property management group
Pay attention homeowners. If this poorly run company acquires a property next to you, prepare for the worst. Once a tennent moves out, the property just sits for weeks and weeks maybe even months and no one will tend to it. Grass weeds shrubs just grow unattended and the company will not respond to calls to clean it up. The tennents have been good but the company is a pathetic neighbor. If you share a fence with the company they will literally let if fall to the ground and rot. They put no money into improvements. I'd hate to see the inside of one of these dumps if they let the outside look like what it does.

If you are looking for a place under no circumstance should you use this company. They will lie to you and cheat you at every turn, they tell you to use certain ways to pay and then when there are any issues on their end they say its not affiliated with us and is your problem and then charge excessive fees for the problems they have caused. Then if there are any maintaining issues they will ignore your reports and just clear tickets without ever actually coming to property and helping or resolving any issues. Calling in will either result in rude unhelpful and condescending employees, that do nothing to actually help or do anything to show any sort of empathy or understanding. All around a terrible company that everyone should avoid using and hopefully they will cease to exist soon.

I have not lived in the property even two months. Three days and all toilets and shower backed up with sewage. The finally resolved this. A few days later it backs up again and it determined I have to flush my guest bathroom daily to clear line due to a construction defect (plumbing company). Why not fix the defect you own the house.
Sent in maintenance request for dishwasher and closet 4/9/23. Received two confirmations. Tech was out 4/14 and fixed closet. Never heard from anyone about the standing water in dishwasher. No calls, texts, or emails. I have left messages daily on the voicemail. I can never get a live person. The dishwasher stinks. Sent email and put in another request that was cancelled citing duplicate request still nothing from anyone and it’s 4/15/23.
Recommendation: Would not recommend. Rent is high and service sucks for what I pay in rent.

I contacted the leasing agent and was told pest control is my responsibility after i move in... two days later the air conditioning stopped working and 4 weeks after that we had a rain storm and when i got home 2 rooms were flooded with water. Conrex makes you pay rent through clickpay, and when i logged in the day before the first, to make sure there wasnt going to be any problems, i put my bank info in and the system kept rejecting my routing number. So i put the wire transfer routing number in and it excepted that one, 6 days later they send me a message stating i gave them the wrong banking info...WTF a d then i was charged all kind of extra fees. This year cant go by fast enough. I will never use this company again.

Lived in a Conrex property in Birmingham, AL. The house was built in the 80's and still had original cabinets, kitchen floor, and doors. None of it was well maintained. When viewing the house, the backyard had trash, debris, and other items buried throughout the yard, popcorn ceiling was falling off, cabinet doors falling off the hinges, stained carpet, and the house was infested with roaches. We signed anyway because it was one of the few rentals close to work and in a decent area. We filled out a detailed inspection report and listed all of the damages we noticed upon moving in. Immediately after signing, we notified the leasing company, and were told "insect and lawn maintenance is the responsibility of the current tenant. If we did not like the condition of the house, we should not have signed." After hundreds of dollars of our own money spent fixing these things, we re-signed. We got confirmation two months prior to the start of the new terms. When it came time for the new terms, they placed us on a month to month lease. They said we had to prove that we re-signed or agree to the overpriced terms. Luckily I had a lease with their signatures on it, because I was told that there was no proof of us renewing. Fast forward to move out and according to their documentation, we should hear something about our deposit 30-45 days after move out. We had no contact from Conrex for 100+ days after moving out. We called multiple times, placed our name on waiting lists, spent hours on hold, and still never got in touch with someone. We finally got a hold of someone from a different department. We were told we caused over $1,000 in damages and shouldn't expect the deposit back. I asked why they never notified us to dispute this claim and was directed to the claims department that I have yet been able to get in contact with. Since they lost our lease, I have no faith that they still have our move in inspection forms. Communication with this company is ridiculous.
Found a pile of rodent droppings spray painted over beneath the kitchen sink after we moved in. So-called "standard" paint job on walls is sloppy. Oven FILTHY. Shelving in refrigerator broken; drawers missing in both fridge and freezer; mold inside ice maker. Multiple other issues. Caveat emptor, because these slumlords have no integrity.

From the beginning it has been nothing but *** they say it takes 3-5 business days for a decision well it was over 7 days for me. Every time I would call to check on my application they tell me I need something else. My husband & I had a offer letter for a job & they still were asking for our current check stubs & bank statements. Like why does that matter I won't be at that job any longer. They lied about sending me a email asking for bank statements but I never once got an email. I then called & spoke with some lady told her it was very frustrating she did push the issue & said my application is in screening & that I will receive a decision 24-48hrs. Well within 2hrs I received a denial email. Funny how that email came through but not the one asking for bank statements. All this confusion to be denied saying something about my income when me & my husband income was thousands of dollars more than they were asking.

Nicole has been a blessing through this entire experience. Me and my partner have been trying to apply for a house and we were very confused on the process and she guided us step-by-step. Can't speak about the experience of living in one of the rental properties but customer service is the worst so far.

Been renting from Conrex for 5 years. Every year is worse than the one before. Renewed lease this year and rent increased 13%. Right now I have raw sewage and water backing up into the hand painted bathtubs. Sent a maintenance request twice in the last month. Nothing gets fixed. Now they sent me an email stating the property has been sold to another property management company. Now i guess it is their problem.
Dealing with conrex and simple bills is a no go. Every month the amount is higher than what the companies charge. I wish it was a way to do away with Simple bills all together.
Horrible company - avoid renting from any property who uses this company for their management! Finally got a security deposit statement 60 days after moving out and after advising them we were going to sue for our deposit back. Statement filled with inaccurate information and bogus charges, saying we owe them money. Did not follow Florida statute or lease terms when filling out the deposit statement. We've decided to turn this over to a collections attorney in Florida.

I can't say enough good things about the team at Conrex Property Management. Everything from the application process to the final move out was seamless and very pleasant. I submitted a couple minor maintenance issues and they had a tech out to my rental if not by the next day the day after. I do believe everyone has their own experiences good or bad. Please don't make a decision to not rent from this company because of a few bad reviews. When I say a few bad reviews, let's talk numbers. Conrex Property Management owns over 10,000 homes in at least 11 states. Their public reported revenue appears to be $50 million a year and has projected to expand properties as well as increase staffing. Unfortunately unhappy people will write a review well before an happy person. If the company is so awful why are they growing and not filing bankruptcy? Don't believe everything you read and if you need a home to rent contact Conrex and base your decision on your own experience. I would absolutely refer family and friends to rent from this company everyday all day!
My wife and I applied through Conrex for a property to rent and upon checking today the house is no longer listed for rent but as "just sold". The entire profile on "realtor.com" has been edited as if the house was on the market to buy rather than rent! We have spoken to a representative every day for 6 days, and verified the address of the property *** SC) we were applying for each time. They have check stubs, W2s, offer letters, socials, and Identification. I am aware of the condition of society currently but there is no valid excuse for posing as a professional. Renting from Conrex and dealing with SimpleBills has been the worst experience for renting that I've ever had. They will try to con you out of money any way possible. We have never been late on rent or utilities and have took very good care of the home. They are very lacking with phone etiquette and professionalism. The wait time is always very long, everything must be done through email, including work orders. We had issues with our AC unit, put in work order, they scheduled a day to be there, I took off work, and they just didn't show up. However, if I was not there when they arrived we would've been charged $50. We just kept getting excuses for them not showing up and never getting a return call. They eventually showed up 3 weeks later when we happen to be home on a holiday! There has been other issues and billing issues that was incorrect on their end, which they admitted, but never made it right. It has been two months and still never got a call back about it after our multiple attempts with their "management". It has been so frustrating that we are moving out. We have to pay 2 months rent with a 30 day notice to leave, but it's worth getting away from Conrex. I am curious to see if we actually get our deposit back and how long it will take. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy.

I am 22 years old and applied for a house in Myrtle beach SC. The rent for this 3 bedroom house is cheaper than what I'm paying for my 2 bedroom apartment.
When I applied, I submitted paystubs. Someone called me and told me my paystubs were "wonky", fraud and unrealistic for someone my age. Absolutely RIDICULOUS. And discrimination I believe. I make over 100k a year, and that's because I'm blessed to have a good JOB that I work my a*** off to get.
They then ask me to submit my bank statements, which I do so immediately showing over 40k in my bank account, and multiple deposits made within the last 4 months.
Then they tell me, because the deposits do not state the name of my salon it is unacceptable and I need to submit tax forms.
Well, last year I was on maternity leave and had complications, so I did not file taxes and don't have that to show. They then deny me because I don't have "sufficient" documents to prove my employment. I have submitted literally everything I have, including my employers name & number whom they refuse to call. The 4 different people there I spoke to sound uneducated, and very unprofessional. Every last one of them. I don't know who's running this business but they have sh*** staff and need to get it together. Will be making a complaint everywhere I can.

They gave me a credit last month and put my May light bill on with my rent, in which I paid with May's rent. Simple bills is clearly not simple, I don't know who came up with this. I don't have time to sit on phone with conrex and simple bills company every month. As a customer this is too much every month. Conrex causes unnecessary stress. Conrex forced the tenants to get simple bills, they obviously don't pay the bills on time and it falls on the tenant. I have paid the invoices they sent me. I sat on the phone for hours last month trying to figure out why they sent a portion of light bill to you all. I still payed it. I had a 0 balance with Clickpay and simple bills until I got this message about it on May 26,2022. On Today, May 27,2022 a courier brought a letter about default to my door dated for May 20, 2022 insane. I have that on doorbell camera. I sat in the phone for 3 hours yesterday and the rep I talked to assured me that this was a misunderstanding. Whoever was supposed to submit my lease to simple bills didn't in March 2022, light bill started being directed to conrex. Instead of calling trying to see what was going on with simple bills, they took immediate actions to try to terminate my lease and I have been a good, quiet paying consumer.

THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD! We've been here for almost 4 years. The first 3 years were great! This years this new company has put me and my family thru hell! We paid everything that was agreed on in court after they took out rent and filled for eviction 3 days later. They said we didn't pay everything but sent an email stating we did filled a motion and had our door Red tagged for set out! I'm about to start a law suite against this company for taking my money and evicted us on false allegations that's I have receipts for. I have 6 kids and 2 service dogs my husband is a retired veteran who really doesn't need this stress! It's a lot of fraud and scam going on in this company and it will be exposed! They are constantly locking the portal. I have payments not on my ledger so other rental companies are looking at my ledger like I haven't been paying rent. Maintenance is terrible! They charged me for having to replace an electrical panel that was not up to date in the home so the lights would blow every 4 days. The electrical guy told me there was water leaking into the panel something I wouldn't be looking for that could of killed my whole family if a fire would have started! There was black mold in my basement so bad they had to pull up the tile after 4 months of me mentioning it. I can keep going on and on. I'm glad I have a track record im my emails of all the things that were wrong and out of the 12 different maintenance men they've had over the last 3 years haven't fixed anything. Its ok because enough is enough and exposure is right around the corner.

They keep homes listed online as available even though they are aware that the home has already rented or as they say "has a pending move in". I thought that because everyone's situation is different, I would apply anyway after reading the reviews. BIG MISTAKE. The reviews are accurate about this company in terms of the application process and them stealing money. I can't speak to the move ins and maintenance. I had to fill a dispute with my bank and showed proof of deception. The home I applied for is still on the market as available. You can still tour and apply for the home but I was told that the home has a pending move in on the Monday 5/9/22, after I was told the previous Thursday 5/5/22 to apply because no applications were pending on the home. They will not send you anything in writing telling you the status or their decision. They stated they only send an email if your application was denied. In my case everything was approved but the home has a "pending move in". I have perfect credit rental history and background as well as my daughter who is over 18yrs of age, so they couldn't use the "Denied" reason so they came up with that reason and stated they will not refund the application fees, even though they advised me that the home had no pending applications and advised me to apply under false pretenses knowing that they already rented the home. I want justice in the form of a refund and I will like something in writing stating why I cannot rent a home that I qualified for and is still showing online as available and can be toured and applied for.

Looked at over 20 conrex homes in the Jackson, MS area - only one was actually livable. The home we finally chose has foundational issues causing have of the home to slope - this forces water in the attic to slide down a wall that spans the entire center of the home. The water strips paint on its way down to the floors where it warps the flooring - new and original hardwood/vinyl. Gets inside electric sockets blowing out appliances, and is slowly but surely eating away at this home. The roof was actually completely rotted meaning this home definitely has not had an inspection in a long time prior to us renting. The bums they hired to redo the roof took an entire month - NOT an exaggeration. This was a beautiful home and this company is letting it dilapidate.
The local management doesn't exist - they do not answer phones and hire the worst vendors available for maintenance requests - the ONLY good person at this company is the maintenance coordinator who is also fed up with the company management.
Our home is listed as a 3 bedroom, and was one originally. However, previous owners added an addition which caused one of the bedroom windows to no longer exit to the outside, making it not legally a bedroom - we're being charged for it still - cant get anyone to respond to me about this since its probably false advertisement and we'd like some of our rent back.
SimpleBills is designed to aggregate all your utilities into one flat rate every month - or at least it is supposed to. Instead what you get is a surprise number every month with costs that have no meaning.

If I could give Conrex ZERO stars I most certainly would! Last Friday on 11/11/2022 I was evicted from my home with absolutely NO notice. They popped up at my house Friday evening and told my 3 year old, 6 year old and 11 year old that we had 15 minutes to get what I was able to grab and leave. Keep in my I had a fully furnished 5 bedroom home and is a single parent who JUST moved in about 4 months ago. They claim it's because I haven't paid rent I had it set on auto pay so I didn't know it wasn't getting paid so when I found out I offered 5k and my rent is only 1250 when I called prior to them coming and putting us out they gave me an extension but yet STILL had the officer and other person come evict my children and I. When they came I tried to give them the $5000 and they wouldn't accept it. The sheriff himself was confused as to why they wouldn't just accept it. Now here it is 4 days later and my kids and I are homeless right before the holidays and a birthday (December 22nd). Wow I'm totally lost for words and on top of that there was MOLD in the bathroom prior to moving in I've complained BEFORE we moved in and all they did was paint over it. Soon as we took bath it started showing through the paint again. On top of the other problems that were never fixed. I also had to pay a professional terminator because the home was mice and roach infested. After 2 months of service I finally seen change just to get put out. Really wish they would accept my money and give us our home back as we have no where to really go. You would think they would accept the money since they did give me an extension over the phone. And I had to leave my things there because again I'm a single parent who JUST moved here from a different state I don't ANYONE besides who I work with and I don't know them well enough to ask if my children and I could stay with them. So sickening. It would really HURT having to go back to Illinois.

They still have not assigned a leasing agent or offered me a contract. I am fully qualified to take on a lease for this lovely property and have no blemishes on my record plus I own a home in Charleston.
On May 19,2022 My spouse and I applied for a House for rent in Bryant, AR through Conrex rental company. We had to pay a 0.99cent fee just to get to that application and then we paid $55 each to submit our applications. Since then we have tried to reach the company via phone about 6 times with no contact made. We also emailed the company to check the status of the applications since we haven't heard anything and no response there either. We are trying to relocated from out of stated so funds are tight and now we still don't have a rental and we are out $110.99.
They were very misleading in their rental listing-the photographs they used and the description. Upon visiting the house, it was clear the place had not been cleaned. There was mold, crumbs, and food stains in the refrigerator, old food particles and grease in the oven, one of the toilets was full of brown/yellow water and stains. The door to the garage was damaged and falling apart, a piece of trim with missing drywall was on the ground. The state of the hood above the oven was very concerning. There is also a definite lack of communication on their part and I do not think there was transparency regarding the fact that they also charged my father an application fee in addition to the application fee I was charged. So I would like to request a full refund for the application fee they charged me and my father due to the misrepresentation in their ad.
My husband and I have applied with Conrex and passed along our personal information to rent a home. It has now been 12 business days and no one will call us back, I've emailed several times, reached out via email and nothing. We paid over $100 for a background check and feel this business is lying and stealing personal info.

The house at *** in Winston-Salem was made available for viewing Sunday, Sep 20th. We were the first to view, apply, and send a deposit to the property. We know this as the remote key wasn't working until after 11am when we finally got access after sitting and waiting a couple of hours. We then we're told the house is no longer available it has been rented. Obviously they took folks money knowing they had a lessee for the property. I was told that the person may have been on a waiting list for the property and applied without seeing it. Their website states you can apply after touring the property. If they intended to give the house to a wait list person who isn't required to tour it then it is theft to take others money at the same time. We want the $90.00 application fee returned to us for falsely saying a home was available.

Conrex is extremely misleading in their resident screening process. On the one hand they state that the application fee is $45 when you are actually charged $55. Also their website and the application both say they look at Transunion resident scores when they actually do not. They look at your VantageScore which is extremely lower than your FICO scores. Please be careful when applying for a home through Conrex.

Company's Criteria for application is false. Denies application after luring people in under false pretenses. No response from company management. I reviewed the company's rental application prior to completing a application on 4/29. Criteria stated that eviction filings would only be consider if it exceeded more than 2 within a five year period. I had a filing with date of 4/28 outside of the 5 year time frame and it was only one to be denied. I explained to property manager what the company's guidelines outlined on the website on evictions and what would be accepted. I also told her that this criteria was out in place by her company Conrex and it was not fair for me to be denied and my credit to be pulled under false pretense. Property manager Greda was very unprofessional, unpleasant and rude. I filed a complaint online with no response. Spoke with several customer service reps who told me that someone would call me back from management, still no call. I was not held to the same standard as everyone else this was unfair and unethical.

March 2022 my husband and I submitted an application for a property listed for rent by Conrex. After three days of no response on our application status I tried contacting the local and corporate office for an update and never spoke to anyone. I requested to have a call back and never received one. The property was removed from the market two days after our applications were submitted but we have not heard anything. Additionally, I submitted an email to the dedicated address provided on the automated email we received after submitting our application and still have not received a response from this email. We paid $110 to move into a home that suited our family's needs and instead became victims of this companies poor etiquette and values. We have decided to wait until more properties come available that are not owned by this company to avoid another scam. We demand our $110 be refunded immediately.
I paid $110 for 2 applications almost 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything about being approved or denied even and i want my money back. They ignore my emails and voicemails I've left and when I call I get put on hold for 20 or 30 minutes at a time and they just hang up on me
My partner and I submitted an application for a rental property after touring the property through Rently. We liked it and tried contacting the office with no call or email returned. We decided to apply because we wanted to get our info over ASAP and not miss the opportunity. The next day, the house is marked as "off the market". We tried calling and emailing the local Spartanburg, sc office several times. One time they called us back, but as sure as we picked up they hung up. There is no way to leave a voicemail and have tried contacting corporate. This company operates like a huge scam. We'd like to get our application fees returned and will no longer be looking at any homes through this company. Such a disappointment. No one should have to file complaints in order to get service.

I have lived ln my house for almost a year. Submitted several maintenance request that have gone incomplete. I have been issuing maintenance request since July or August if 2019. None have been completed. The most recent one was submitted in October where my wood floors started to lift. The maintenance man came out several times and was told he was waiting on approval. Fast forward to 2020 I got fed up because it had been so long without an approval. I contacted the person I leased the house from *** and showed her pictures of my floor half way up and unsafe. My kids hurts their feet on the floors and I complained but no one cared. Here it is March when I finally get a response that he was given the ok time fix my floors 5 months later. I have all the call attempts emails everything and no one cared. Since Corona came in, I am now unable to get my floors done so I have spent more time With messed up floors than fixed floors. I contacted *** again about my unhappiness and she stated that if I want to resign my lease she will keep it at my current rate.

My girlfriend and I submitted our rental application to ***, GA XXXXX" as well as a $45 application fee each. We called about the availability of this property at 2:00pm (7/27) and were told that it was being fixed up and would be coming available and that we could apply to rent online. At 3:23pm we received an e-mail stating the property was back on the market. We completed the application for two people and submitted a fee and by 4:05 we received an e-mail saying that the house was no longer available. I do not believe that this property would have ever been available to us and we were not informed that there was other interest in this property or that it was in the process of being rented, stemming from that fact that it was under renovation and unavailable and 2 hours later is was "rented" and no longer available. As of 7/28 the next morning (9:00am) this property still shows as available on rental listing sites such as apartmentguide and rent.com.

On January 10, 2022 $55 was taken out of my bank account by Conrex Property Management for an application fee to rent a property. I sent the payment on the 8th of January. I received an email from Conrex Property Management saying that the property was no longer available. This email also said that my application was approved and they had been trying to reach my for 2 days. I called this person and she said that she had tried to call me but did not leave a voicemail because in her experience, people don't respond to voice-mail. I checked my missed calls and it shows that I never received a call from her. She sent me a text message which was buried in all the other text messages from all the other property management companies as I was looking at multiple properties. I did not expect text message to be the sole means of communication from a property management company as every single other property management company and every single business for that matter that I've ever dealt with has called, left voice-mail, and emails. I want my application fee back. And I want this person to face some sort of repercussion. I lost my dream home because this lady didn't do her job right. I then emailed her supervisor who has not responded to any of my emails.

This company is terrible
This company is terrible. We applied for a property on April 4th 2022 but then toured another one that we thought would be better suited for us so we reached out to someone in the company that had answered a few previous questions and asked if we could transfer our application over to the second property instead. We never heard back from anyone after sending multiple emails. We also HAD to fill out an application for my 22 year old autistic child and pay the application fees for her even though we explained to them in an email that she had no credit or cell phone to register with the app used to fill out the rental application. We paid all the fees and filled out all the applications and heard nothing back until a few weeks later when I received an email under her account stating that she was denied due to having no credit. She was the only one who got any such email about being denied. My husband and I never received any emails or phone calls being the primary applicants. Now suddenly today they have sent us emails saying the secondary property we inquired about needs a complete application from us to move forward. I have never been so frustrated with a company in my life. We are asking that they refund us the application fees that we originally paid.

I have submitted/paid for two applications to a Conrex Property, as well as paid a $150 Lease Binder, but have yet to have any further contact. My fiance and I applied to rent *** SC XXXXX from Conrex. We both paid for the applications, $45 each, on 04/04. On 04/09, we were contacted by *** from Conrex, stating we had 24 hrs. to pay a Lease Binder to retain the property. The following day, I paid the $150 Binder, as well as signed a Res Binder via DocuSign. After the payment was processed, we did not hear back from Mr. *** or anyone from Conrex, even after we have emailed multiple times, called, and submitted info requests on their website. The Binder states that move in to the property would be 05/01, yet the days leading up to the 1st of May, nobody had reached out to either my fiance or myself in regards to the property. It is 05/05 and no contact as been attempted by Conrex Property. I have multiple documents in regards to this (the Lease Binder, receipts of payment for the Binder, as well as the applications, phone records showing when I have attempted to make contact, as well as emails from multiple accounts in regards to basic questions regarding the property that Mr. *** or anyone from Conrex did not respond to). *I am unable to attach mulitple files on this page

I submitted a rental application on 12/15 for a home in ***, Ms. To date, the company has not initiated any contact with me regarding my app. I submitted an application to conrex on 12/15. I never received a call from the company regarding my application. I made numerous attempts to contact someone for an update on my application, but received excuses as to why noone was available, in particular, the holidays was the primary reason. I finally called and spoke with an employee handling my file on 01/8. She instructed me to provide additional information. I submitted the requested information on that date, but never received a call back. I called back on 1/27. To file a complaint with the manager and to request a refund. The manager informed me that my application had expired and that the staff has numerous applications to handle and that was cause for the delay. I suspect that this company is gathering numerous application fees for homes before actually accepting a tenant. I attempted to report the company to Mississippi attorney generals office; however, the company isn't housed there and the main headquarter remains a mystery. I requested a refund but the manger insisted on me resubmitting my information despite my expressed disinterest in renting from the company. He never agreed to refund my $45. Also, the company runs an add on special deals if you rent before a particular date, but they never fill the vacancy.

I called later in the day to check status was advised that processing applications take 3-5 days and I would be email approval or denial... on 3/22/22 I was emailed by *** stating application was incomplete that I had co-applicants with 0% complete.. I responded and asked did I have to do an application for children under 18 because I only had my kids on the application she stated no I didn't she couldn't see the application because systems was down all she seen was co-applicants sorry for the inconvenience... so I check the status of the house and it was now off market and I emailed her immediately to see the status of my application because why is it off market not even 24 hours later but application processing is 3-5 days...she advised she emailed me at 9:11 which is the conversation of the applicants and my application is not complete I told her that she stated I didn't need to do one for the children... she goes on to say I have 2 other co-applicants my mother and sister I advised her I've never put them on any application I've done for any property I applied for and I sent screenshots of the applications I did and people on the application and she stopped responding. How is it that a house is back off market not even 24 hours later but the application process is 3-5 days. How am I showing the 2 kids which I indeed added to the application but she is showing 2 other applicants who already have a house.

On 01/06/22, my roommate received a call from Conrex stating that I was not approved but she could be approved if she provided more income information. I then called Conrex myself because they did not try to reach out to me to provide me with this same information. Upon reaching a representative, she told me that our application was still pending and they had not reached a decision. I called again on 01/07/22 and the representative told me that they still had not reached a decision and that she would give my information to Shawn Hunter to give me a callback and to anticipate her calling within 24-48 hours. I did not receive a call within that time frame. So today, 01/10/22, I called again and this time the representative told me that our application was dated for 01/09/22 and that it takes 3-5 days to process. Obviously, this was untrue being that we applied almost a week ago. I communicated this to the representative and she could not give me any further information but stated she would try to get in touch with Shawn. I waited on hold for 20 minutes just for her to tell me Shawn was in a meeting and that she would call me back. Shawn never called me. Every single time I called Conrex I received a different answer regarding my application and I still have not heard anything from them as far as an approval or denial. It's been almost a week now and they should have given us an answer by now. At this point, we want is our money back and to withdraw our application. It should not be this difficult to rent a house.

I submitted the $45 ran my application they said also that no one had applied or was showing any interest in the property before I sent the money. a day later I called back and they said no one had applied except me and it was just waiting on my information to clear. another day later they would not answer the phone and kept telling me to call back and the following hour, each time I called back they kept saying just to keep calling until I reach someone in the leasing department. no answer after 2 days. I finally got a hold of someone in the leasing department and they said they did not know what I was talking about and that the house had been taken before I even submitted the $45 payment and my background check. they said 15 people had already applied for that house before I even sent an application which is the exact opposite of what I was told before I sent the application. my privacy has been invaded by this company and I was scammed. I asked for my refund and all they said was find another house but the only reason I applied was for this house which is what I told them from the beginning and from the beginning they said that everything would clear and I was good to move in the house as long as my background information was good so I was lied to and manipulated. I called these people over 25 times and have all of the documents from my calls and was never able to contact anyone to get the $45 back or find out if my application was ever even completed. Noone from this company will answer the phones, and after I looked into it I found out that this company has scammed multiple people

About a month ago, my husband and I filled out an application for Conrex. Our application was denied because "student loans do not count for income, please look into getting a guarantor." We did have a guarantor who made an adjusted gross income that would have been acceptable according to their website. After about a week of NO RESPONSE to the emails I sent the leasing manager, *** Warriner, I decided to use a different guarantor. *** claimed our guarantor was good, but she demanded another pay stub(despite us already providing a month's worth). We submitted the paystub to her and she told us my husband and I would have to pay the application fee(again). We did. I emailed her to make sure she had received the application and got no response. Several days later, I followed up on the email, no response. A day or so after, I called and they said *** was in a meeting but they would make sure she got back in contact with me. The next time I called, the was supposedly out of office. Today, which is over a month since I first applied to the house, I finally called the company to ask for an update. They said my application had been denied and I had received an email. I did not receive an email. There was no indication about why my application had been denied or why my emails had gone unanswered. After several hours of crying, I decided it was time to take action. It is not okay that we were forced to pay an application fee twice and that we were not contacted regarding our application status in a timely manner. It is not okay that we were seemingly rejected for no reason. This company is taking advantage of people who need housing by stealing application fees. This is not a company who sees their residents as anything other than a dollar sign. This is a disgustingly cruel and inhumane company. Our resolution would be to have our application fees(totaling 330 dollars) refunded. We also ask that the business take a hard look at itself.

My mom and I moved into this property in the middle of October . After refusing to move into the property we originally picked because of black mold they started to treat us different. They gave us addresses of more homes to look at and some were not listed on their site. They delayed us moving and stop communicating with us. They told me they were not going to prorate the days we didnt stay there even though we paid to move in October 1st. They stop communicating with us but they did prorate the rent after causing stress and delays for no reason. The house obviously need a lot of repairs. In less than two months the floor buckeled in the hallway. They sent a crew to pull the floor up and replace the wood. All the floors were gray now the hallway has brown floors now. The plumber has been here three times because the pipes and shower keep backing up. I was told not to use that bathroom for over three weeks now. Tomorrow the plumber will be here again. Today I opened the closet in my mom's room (who recently just passed away)just to find that black mold is covering the closet and clothes. I called no one answered. The only people who talk to me is maintenance. There is no insulation in the house. When you turn the heat on the windows sweat to the point you can't see out of them. The utility company they used had two different bills for January 1st 276.00 2nd 202.22. I paid it on 1/10 it was due 1/12. I get another bill for 321.00 two weeks later thats due2/4. I was told by simplebills that the money that was deducted in January was added to the new bill and I said why didnt anyone inform me. No answer. I feel like they turned on us after refusing to move in the first house with the mold. My mom was bed bound and I had her in a room with mold. How would that make you feel? Phillip and Belinda stop answering my calls. To this day I can't get anyone to call me from that office at all. Sad. You can literally see outside without opening the front door.

We began calling on Monday November 9 to check on our application if it had been accepted or denied. my husband was finally connected to a leasing agents voicemail, left a message, never received a call back. Tuesday, 7 business days now, I called again, Finally spoke with the rep and was told the offices were closed. Wednesday, 8 business days now, I called again, Finally was connected with a rep who then connected me to a leasing agents voicemail which was full and not excepting further messages. I called back again and told the rep that the leasing agent's mailbox was full and at this point I was beginning to think they were running a scam and I was going to contact the complaintsboard.com to report them. I told her that I had never received an email on whether our rental application was approved or denied and she said if we did not receive an email that our application was approved and then I told her I could see on the website that the house we wanted to rent was now off market. She gave me a leasing agents name and said that she was in a meeting and would call me later that day. Of course she never returned my phone call. We never received an email about anything. Today, Thursday, November 11, I spoke with that same rep again and she said that all of their Birmingham properties are currently under renovations and that's why we've never received a a call about our rental application. Why did they take our money for a rental application on a property they never intended on renting to us? My husband drove by the property and it is still empty with no renovations. Conrex is running a scam to take renter's application money! Refund our $110.00!

I recently received a letter from a debt collection agency
I recently received a letter from a debt collection agency. They said they were attempting to collect a $2,400 debt that I owed Conrex. I asked them why I owed Conrex, they stated that they had not received a ledger from Conrex with any information about why the debt was owed. I then called Conrex, they also stated that they did not have any information about why this amount was owed. The rep stated that it had something to do with my move-out date but could not explain what the issue was. The debt collection agency is threatening to put this debt on my credit and no one even knows where this amount came from? I moved in the property in February, I moved out August 28 or 2021. During my residency, I never missed a payment and I never had a late payment. I was an exemplary tenant and I left the house in immaculate condition inside and out. Not to mention that I paid a $1,300 security deposit, so that means that Conrex is claiming that I caused $3,700 of damage. I expected to receive my security deposit back, minus a cost for a basketball goal that I left, and prorated rent for me extending my move out date from 8/24 - 8/28. Before I moved out, I asked could the inspection be scheduled in the afternoon so I could be present, they refused. It is no way that they viewed the property after I left and could charge me for anything. I replaced the air filters the day I left and left an additional air filter sitting in front of the unit. I replaced the toilet seats. I replaced all bulbs that were blown. There was NOTHING to clean. I left no trash in or outside the house. I had the entire lawn cut before I left, including all of the bushes trimmed. I stayed there for 2 and a 1/2 years, they would have to paint anyway. I have always received my entire security deposit back from every unit I have rented and I have no negative reports on my credit. I am appalled by their blatant disregard for me as a great tenant and the embellishment of damages to extort money.
