Optical department
The employees in the optical department, specifically, Lisa shes a brunette, and a curly haired blonde woman, I don't know her name, in the optical department, are rude, poor customer service, I will never purchase glasses or contacts from the independent optical department again.They don't acknowledge that you're standing there waiting for service.This store as a whole has declined in quality customer service. Shame!
Citi Visa
I moved from Canada to the United States to take up a faculty position at Villanova University two months ago and have been trying to get a Visa card since then. The first time I applied for the Costco Visa card I got rejected because apparently I don't have any credit. Last time I checked I had a credit score of close to 800 according to Equifax, while I was in Canada. They took my Canadian social insurance number and personal information and yet they rejected my application. I have three different credit card from Canada, including a Costco MasterCard, which I can't even use to shop at Costco in the U.S. Also, whenever I use my Canadian credit cards to make purchases at other locations or online, I get charged with currency exchanged rates.
I reached out to Citi Visa to try and resolve my issue but they are asking me for a utility bill for a proof of address, which I cannot provide since I'm leaving in an all inclusive rental. They will not accept a cell phone bill or a bank statement with my address. When I tried to talk to a Manager the receptionist got upset and said let me transfer you but instead hung up.
I'm really tired of dealing with them and feel that its unjust and my rights are being denied. In an economic system where credit cards are essential in everyday life, being denied base on no legitimate justification should be against the law. I have excellent credit history and I'm a very responsible individual. I have a full-time job as a faculty member in the physics department at Villanova University. Please let me know what have I done wrong to be denied a credit card? Should living in an all-inclusive rental automatically disqualify you from having the right to obtain a credit card?
I've been a royal customer with Costco for maybe a decade, purchasing everything from everyday groceries, car tires, bed, TV, car insurance, central unit furnace, etc., I have raved about Costco to my family and friends and convince so many people to become Costco members. I am so upset about this credit card situation that I'm seriously considering boycotting Citi bank and all companies associated with it, including Costco. If you can't help me to resolve the issue I will terminate my Costco membership forever.

masks on employees
I noticed today that your employees are in masks. This is a violation of their bodily autonomy and medical freedom. Please let masks for staff and customers be a personal choice. They do not stop of slow the spread of covid and may even promote spread since most people don't wear them correctly. Masks can be harmful and, if there is harm, there must be choice. I don't know if this is to show you take safety seriously or because you really think masks help, but they don't and they violate people's rights and freedom. I almost cancelled my membership last time masks were required and will probably follow-through this time if you make it mandatory for customers again. There will always be another wave, another variant, etc. just like with the cold and flu. We are adults and can make our own choices, we don't need you to make them for us. Thank you for your wonderful store and please keep it that way by letting people make their own medical choices.
Desired outcome: Drop the mask mandate for employees and don't require masks for customers
Seems like it's not such a bad idea given the Delta variant. Why are you so concerned about it anyway? It doesn't affect you. Maybe some of those employees want to wear masks. Either way, it's a company that can set their own rules. If they can mandate that you have to wear pants and close toed shoes, they can certainly make you wear a small piece of cloth on your face during a worldwide pandemic. Sounds like you're making more out of it than is really there. If personal choice is really the issue, then everyone should be allowed to get abortions and do whatever drugs they want to, right?
Clearly you don't understand that it's the people who have gotten the shot who are creating the mutation. Masks don't work, look up the handful of peer reviewed articles, size of the droplet is smaller than the holes in the mask. Do your own research and think critically and turn off the fear mongering fake news spreading TV.

My name is Roya Javahery, I have been an executive member of Costco since 2014. On August 05, I bought an LG washer & Dryer from Costco Newmarket East Gwillimbury which is located in 18182 Yonge St, Newmarket ON L3Y 8V1 . My husband and I waited there for more than an hour to get the package. The box of washer was ripped and we asked the person who was charged if he checked the washer and there is no damage with the washer and he confidently told us yes, there is no damage with the washer! We hired somebody to deliver the package to our home which is in Richmond Hill. When we opened the washer, we saw a dent by the door of washer, so the guy couldn't install the package and we paid $250 for his compensation. Today I went to the same Costco @ 3:30 pm and I talked with the manager, he offered me $75 discount for the dented washer while I have to pay more to hire somebody to return back it. It is very frustrating. I bought a brand-new washer and I expected the new one. It is a waist of my time and money. You are expected to compensate my loss in this regard. Check out errors
In the last month this has happened twice. I go to the self check out and a Costco employee approaches me to scan my items. They then ask for me to put in my credit card to make payment. So at this point I have no idea what has been scanned.
The last two occasions the male costco employee scans the items in my cart and on both occasions scans the same item twice. Simply by the speed of the way he is checking out my items and not paying enough attention. Talking to other employees whilst doing the scanning.
The first time tomatoes were double scanned. The second time Allergy meds were scanned twice. Luckily I noticed and lined up at Customer service to get the errors corrected. Its annoying and wastes my time. I have also had other issues with Costco at the other checkouts. Your check out cashiers are not trained properly and constantly make errors double scanning. At one time you did not use a capital letter for Costco. That is a proper noun and should begin with a capital letter. You used a capital for customer when you did not need to. You used its instead of it is, or it's. In other words you also make mistakes because you are careless.
No email address to forward phishing emails
I have received multiple suspected phishing emails claiming to be sent by Costco like the photo of the email I have attached below. I believe that these emails are scam phishing emails. I was unable to find a Costco email address to forward such a phishing email. Many companies like Amazon and others have dedicated email addresses for their customer to use to forward a suspected phishing email.
I have attached a copy of the email that I received today, July 31, 2021.
I believe it would be very helpful to Costco and to Costco's customers if an email for forwarding such emails were made available by Costco.
I did not click on any of the links in the email that I received. The email address of the email sender of that email is clearly not a Costco email address.

I have been waiting to get my Washer and Dryer since April 2021, it is July 26th now. Had three confirmed delivery days each time received a text or email, after I waited for them, telling me that they are not able to deliver them. Spent literally tens of hours on the phone to talk to nice but lying "service people". Already went 6 times to my Costco store to asked for help - Nothing! Over the last 31 year I know I spent close to half a million $ at Costco. I will not renew my membership no more. They will not get another $ from me if this is how they treat a long term costumer. I hope many other people will do the same.

Self checkout Employee behavior
Today 7/24 at Bolingbrook Costco I did purchase thru self checkout at 1pm. I have asked the person at self checkout with hand scanner to assist scanning as I had few little heavy items. But he rejected and said "As you are in self checkout, you suppose to do yourself" in that case why Costco has employees with scanner at self checkout. Don't want to argue with him. Just did my billing, raised a verbal Complaint to a supervisor and came out. Never had such a terrible experience in my past 6 years of Costco experience.
Desired outcome: Need a response from the store manager.
Dishwasher delivery and installation
In my case Costco logistics called and said that would deliver in the morning and someone else will come in afternoon to install. They said it can only be done on Wednesdays and a couple of weeks in advance, but thats not a problem. They delivered the box with the dishwasher but my problem started when their installer never showed up. I tried to call them back several times. Their automated message said you are in line and there is 107 min wait time. what? So I called Costco customer service next day and they said they can't do anything about it and wanted me to call the Costco logistics and wait in line. They had no access to schedule the installation and there was no other way to schedule the installation. The Rep created a case number and someone call you back in a week! ( she said they are very busy) if i can't reach them, my next step is to return it to the local store. just will need to find someone to help me to load into my truck and go buy a new one from HD. Just be aware.

We were not told of any limitations on the trip to Hawaii and when we got there we were essentially in jail for 8 days this is just not right and we will spread the word that this should not go on .This is an abuse. We could not schedule a tour, a luau, see the Arizonia, See Diamond Head( right beside the hotel and we could not get in) see the divers, shop at the pro bowl, the pineapple plant, go to the North Shore, Everything is still closed down and we should have been told so. We paid 8000.00 to travel 15 hours to sit in a hotel this is wrong on so many levels. We should have been told the limitations and been able to make and informed solution. This is fraud and I will contact as many people as I need to to prevent this from happening to someone else. Your company had to have prior Knowledge.

My HP Laptop PC was having trouble downloading Microsoft updates and it kept loading and then taking it off saying there was a problem. This went on for 7-10 days and so I wanted to talk to Hewlett Packard because I only had a week until my warranty expired with HP.
I called the Costco Concierge Service Department and talked to about 4 people over a period of 4 hours. I had to explain the situation multiple times and finally they told me how to fix it by downloading a new window 10 onto a flash drive. Then rebooting my computer and downloading from the USB . Anyway my computer would not come on after this completing this task.
I called back to Costco and the last person told me they should have connected me to HP in the 1st place. After finally being connected to HP and discussing the problem with a person who is knowledgeable, I am sending the PC in..
This whole process was a nightmare and I hate the service. They don't know what they are doing and not qualified and totally ruined my computer. Why would they do this to their customers. I am 76 years old and it was almost to the point of torture.

First let me say that it is very difficult to call Costco to make a complaint - their phone menu does not provide for a complaint choice and there is no 'operator' choice on the menu and pressing '0' does not work either.
The subject product becomes unusable half way through each roll - it just starts to come off in pieces - I've spent too much time trying to salvage it and end up throwing away half of the roll. Maybe the supplier is selling Costco 'seconds' - maybe Costco beat the supplier down so far on price that the supplier has to ship seconds to stay in business. This would not be the first time I've seen 'seconds' being sold at Costco - but they of course deny that vehemently.
Desired outcome: get smart about their product quality by using their own employees to call a special phone number to provide feedback on quality issues and reward employees for doing so.
get proactive about Product quality - you need continuous ongoing inspection of product. Sure, the product looks great when the purchasing lady gives the supplier the order but who is checking 6, 12, 18 months later? Maybe she beat the supplier down so far on price (and bragged about it to her boss at Costco) but the only way the supplier can survive is to allow 'seconds' to be included in his shipments. Use your own nation wide employees to provide quality feedback on products they use in their own homes if you don't want to trust feedback from the general public. Encourage and even reward employee feedback on quality issues - set up a special corporate hotline for them to call and identify themselves with their employee number.

It pains me as a loyal Costco warehouse customer for several years to write this review, not of the chair, but of the online service. I ordered the chair on May 18th. After weeks not hearing from Costco about delivery I contacted Customer service who said they chair was at the local depot for delivery and gave me the Logistics phone number to set up a delivery time. You will find you will be on hold for a very long time. The first call the automated answering said the wait time was 92 minutes. After about 80 minutes on hold, the call was dropped. After waiting for over an hour the second time, I had to hang up. The next day the same thing. After about 4 hours on hold over 2 days, Logistics gave me a date of Thursday June 10th for delivery and I was told I would be notified a day or 2 prior with a time frame for delivery. I did receive an email from Costco that the chair would be delivered on Thur June 10th On June 9th I received an email that the chair would be delivered between 4:15-6:15 pm on that June 10th. The chair was not delivered, no email, text or phone call to notify me why or to reschedule the delivery.
I followed up by calling Customer service on June 11th to find out why. They noted the chair had not been delivered and would expediate a response in 2-3 business days. Never received.
Made more calls to Customer service, finally my call was pushed up to a supervisor Carol Krats [protected]. She said she would investigate and get back to me.
On June 16th I received an email from Costco for a review of the chair (which I never received).
June 18th Conversation from Carol was that she was "authorized to REORDER the same chair for the same sale price and for compensation I would receive $400 off the sale price plus set up of the chair at delivery. I accepted these terms. But, she would need for me use my credit card for the REORDER and then I would receive a full refund of the original order. However, the chair was never reordered.
I received an email from Costco indicating the refund was coming.
June 22 Costco did refund the original order, but the chair was never reordered.
I made several calls to Carol, but she never answered any of the calls, nor responded to voice mails I left.
25 June still no order or compensation. I called Customer Service and talked a very nice person who confirmed from the notes made by Carol of the conversation I had with her to make a manual order for the chair but said the chair I had ordered is not out of stock. She transferred me to a supervisor Travis at the Oklahoma call center. Travis said he was being promoted to another position, but he took the information I had. He said the chair was in stock and tried to call Carol and could not get ahold of her either. He said he was passing this on to another supervisor who would get a hold of me either the same day or the next. No call back.
June 30th I finally called Costco headquarters. After being passed around I talked to someone that was very condescending. She reviewed the notes of passed conversations and said the reason the original order was refunded and no reorder was made was the chair is not in stock and since I was refunded the full amount there was nothing she could do. As to the compensation which was offered (I did not ask for it originally), I was told Carol was not authorized to do that and Costco would not honor that offer. So, my review is on Costco ONLINE Customer Service.
