It seems every time I walk into your store to purchase something im needing, a certain employee is never at the register and always in the bathroom doing something and its every time I go to your store on top of that when he walks out of the restroom he never washes his hands which leads me to believe hes doing drugs in there cause he always has an attitude for no reason towards me and others. Tentatively its going to cause a serious problem, you should look into who is working there you will find out more than you will want to know criminal and drug usage with the court systems.

Hi my name is Samantha duncan I was the manger at Delton dollar general #6471 I feel I was wrongly terminated by lack of training by Caitlin Houston she kept saying she have herself or someone else come in and train for better manger experience and I did not see her in the 5months I was there beside when she came in to terminate me due to item I wrongly marked down around Christmas time I highly enjoyed my job and I feel it’s unfair due to lack of training I was let go I would love to be trained better and be apart of this company again please contact me when possible
Wrongful termination
I was recently fired from DG store #4540 in Rowlett. The reason was insubordination. A total farce. Store manager, Patricia McClain, completely made it up and on top of that she lies about things she has said and done.
Example 1: She is constantly confronting customers she feels are stealing. Half the time she is wrong. It is embarrassing as an employee when she does this because her approach isn't what we've been taught (engage, ask if they need help, etc.). Instead, she will say very rudely, "Um, honey, I seen you putting stuff in your bag/purse. I watched you on camera." (lies) When they are confused or deny her accusations, she then replies, "Do I have to ask you to open your bag/purse?" Since "TELLING them to can get me fired". Her words.
Ex 2: Another time she confronted some school age boys who WERE stealing. (ONE of the times she was actually right. Yet, still not supposed to confront them.) A customer complained about it to corporate because they felt she was being racist since the boys were black. When District Manager, Dawda, called her about it she told him she knew the boys mother. Another lie. She even asked another employee to "back her up and lie for her if Dawda were to ever ask." When Dawda asked her what the mother's name is, she made up "Laquesha" because it sounds black. Which she felt was funny. She told me right after they hung up that she lied "because she can lose her job since we aren't supposed to confront customers. But that she didn't care and was going to do it anyway." Her words. You can watch the cameras because I remember it as clear as day.
Ex 3: The whole time I worked with her she constantly daily complained and put down the assistant manager, Mrs. Cassandra Estes. At first, she had us believing that Mrs. Cassandra was messing up things that would cause us to have more work. Also, that our ending tills were always off except for Mrs. Cassandra's. As if she were trying to sabotage the rest of us. It was actually some sort of system error to my understanding. She told not only me but 3 other co-workers that, "she's tired of Cassandra and wants to get her fired and that Dawda said to start writing her so she can let her go." She would purposely schedule her alone for long hours and expect her to get so many totes or rolltainers done. Mrs. Cassandra wasn't allowed to take a break or even use the bathroom until another cashier came on shift.
When I started to see that things weren't as she made it seem and completely wrong, I suggested that we start having team meeting. That way we can all be on the same page and there would be no confusion. Better communication, better team, better store. The team agreed it was a good idea. She refused. Saying, "Until we get our act together, I'm not gonna waste my time on a meeting when people can't follow directions." Wouldn't that be a great reason to get everyone together to make it clear exactly what your expectations are? Instead of telling one person one thing and another person something else.
Ex 4: Not only I but other co-workers, have watched her put things in the wrong place or just whole boxes on shelves and just thought, "maybe she plans to reset it or MAG it." Nope. She would then turn around and blame Mrs. Cassandra or Jesse. I believe this is why she refused a team meeting. Because if we all got together and discussed what was going on she would be caught for the liar that she is. Instead of bringing the team together she was pitting us against one another. Horrible Management.
She cut my hours by almost half after I suggested the meetings saying it was "per Dawda". Another lie. Dawda told me himself "he had nothing to do with it. He does not micromanage the store" When I asked her why only my hours were cut, she said, "because she went over 11 hours on payroll." (Maybe that's because she rarely gave us our breaks/lunches.) Again, why only me? She replied, "Are you questioning me? Because if you are that is disrespectful to a manager." Why is it disrespectful to ask for clarification? Especially when the answer doesn't make sense. So, she made up a new reason. That I've been closing for 3 weeks and still having trouble closing the tills and register. In actuality, I was sweeping and mopping the store. Again, on camera. I did close a few times with her, and she was always interfering and confusing me. So, the last time I asked her, "Patty, please. If you want me to learn this, then please let me do it without you mixing me up." She didn't like that.
The next day I was let go for "insubordination". When I then confronted her about all her lies, she straight face lied through her teeth. I was blown away because not only I, but other co-workers are witnesses to her lies and behavior.
I could go into how she sexually harasses Jesse or belittles Gretchen in front of customers and also wrongfully terminated her for not agreeing with my termination, but those aren't my stories to tell. The only reason I shared about Mrs. Cassandra is because it led into this whole fiasco.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate immediate attention & action taken against Patricia McClain for this whole situation & my job back but not under or with Patricia. I would appreciate an apology & for her to come clean about her actions/lies against me.

I went to the closest dollar general at 1993 Scottsville road franklin ky 42134 only ha one person working self check out wasn't working properly and the employee was texting and smoking outside the door after 2 attempts to purchase 56 dollars of merchandise she finally after 15 mins. Decided to come in and offered no help so I left the merchandise on the counter as did 4 other people and left there were approximately 17 cars in the parking lot I hate I wasted my time going in and lost 30 plus mins.of my time very poorly ran

Bought an apple gift card on monday that had already been redeemed
On Monday April 4,2023 I want to the Dollar General store #12372 to buy an Apple Gift Card. I came straight home after getting it and sent the picture of the card to the receiver and with in a few minutes they got back to me and told me this card had already been REDEEMED ! So then I called the store and I was told they couldn't do anything to help me after paying $500 for it so I was very upset when I was told that. So next I called the phone number on the back of the Apple card I has and I was told that someone had stolen the Serial number on the back of the package and after checking the Serial number on the back of the card they matched. So I then called the Dollar General Store Headquarters number for customer service. And as of today its Friday and this issue still has not been resolved and me fully refunded my $500. I have called everyday since Monday and I have been told something different each day. And today I was given a new case number for this problem and told the district manager would call me in 3 to 4 hours and I still have not heard from this lady. What kind of game are you playing with me after 5 days ? I am very upset over this and I do expect my money fully refunded for this Bad Card that had been scammed !

Had to replace a tire.
I had to replace a tire as a result of a huge pothole on the exit side of the ramp. Tire went flat as a result of a rip in the sidewall as I was trying to go around the pothole, Actually had to replace 2 tires because of inblance but would like re-imbursement for the one tire at $125.00. This has been an ongoing issue for over a year and as of yet has not been fixed. THis is a dangerous situation. The pothole is at least 6 feet wide and at lest 6 inches deep in the middle. Everyone has to stop before the pothole, check for traffic then exit on the entrance lane.

Horrible store experience with employee
Hi, I live in Genoa City Wisconsin, and frequently visit the store in my town, address 322 Walworth Street, Genoa City, Wi 53128. There is an employee there named Jacob who is completely out of control, first he accuses us of using counterfeit bills because there was black ink spilled on one , in front of a full line of customers. We complained and his manager was told by the district manager that he could not cashier anymore, he was right back on register a week later and still is. Last friday, i was in there with my grand children buying candy and toys, my grandaughter who is 9 asked if there were toys, I said yes, she then asked it was similar to family dollar, and Jacob who was stocking in the next row over comes flying over to my grandaughter, gets in her face and screams THIS IS NOT FAMILY DOLLAR ITS DOLLAR GENERAL! and then walked away, my grandaughter started crying and shaking and we all had to leave the store, it was horrible ! Im sick and tired of this store using the fact that Jacob has autism to allow him to abuse and insult customers, now hes scareing small children ? come on how is this right? Why are we as customers being forced to be subjected to this kind of treatment because he "claims" he has autism? We heard there has been multiple complaints turned in about him, and yet he continues to insult, belittle and harass customers for no reason. His health problems should not become everyone elses problem.
You need to put him where he has no interactions with customers. How many more complaints do you have to get on this employee before you do something about it? this has gone on way too long and its needs to seriously be addressed. Im not asking you to fire him, Im simply asking that you remove him from the sales floor before this gets worse. Thank you for your time.
Desired outcome: At least put him in one of your warehouses away from customers, or stock room only, he should not be allowed around customers

I had been working for dg for 11yrs it would've been 12 in July 2023.on March 28th I was terminated by the new district manager for having 5 rolltainers on the floor instead of 4..I never received a write up or anything at all..fast forward I go into the store three days later and it 7 rolltaners on the floor and nothing is sadi...I've been in other store on his district and they look a mess..I feel like I was a target because he had a new manager in there the same day..that doesn't know how to even run the register or count the money...I don't feel like I deserved that with no paper trail..once again I was never wrote up not once.

Cashier was very rude, could it do her job what so ever, manager wasn't on the floor to help when she was needed. Was told to leave with out merchandise that we had just purchased because they couldn't do their job. The crew members was trying to do the manager job in which they could not do, due to the manager not being on the floor like they should have been. Crew and manager is Always outside store is a miss and nothing is priced correctly can't even get the digital coupons to work at this location .

After closing the night before & opening the next morning by 2:30pm I was scheduled to be off by 3pm I counted out my till & found it was $18 short but I knew it was lost in the change fund so I told the Store Manager & she said leave it ill find the money tonight when I count the deposit for the day. So she checked out the deposit & as she was checking out how much we needed for our change fund I was writing down exactly what she said & even ask her if it was correct after she was done. I took the deposit to the bank & the teller said it was $5 short b/c I did the deposit the night b4 I considered it my responsibility so I took the only money I had gave it to the teller & asked if she'd make a note documenting what I had just done, & She did. When I brought the change back to the store I put everything where it should go & clocked out. 45min or so later Lisa Deerman the Store Manager called me claiming there was $100 unaccounted for in our change fund. That was not true there was never $100short not until I left did she claim this so when she called me in her office to do a cash Wright up on me she claimed $100short in the change fund & $75 short on Angel's till, the night before. I took responsibility for the $75 bc I had left my key lying on the safe counter but I expressed to her that it wasn't right! I told her I would take the Wright up but she was to know I completely disagree with the accusations.! She got angree & started yelling so I walked away from her to avoid a fight.5min later she sent me home 3hrs early. The next day I was still very upset over being accused of this so I called in 2hrs b4 my shift was to start. Only the 2nd time i had called in without an excuse.The next day I was scheduled off. I got a notification on Legion the 1st time she took All but 2 days off my schedule the 2nd time I was completely off the schedule. So I reached out to my district manager Dianne explaining the situation & sent her pictures of the proof I had that everything was in order while I was on duty. I got no response from Dianne. Now I understand from the unemployment office that they are claiming too many unexcused absences & violation of company policy. But my separation papers work says due to cash shortages. I was an ASM I work very hard to achieve that position! I am beyond disgusted that this has been allowed to take place! Wrongful termination
So I've been working for dollar general for about two years in total. Everything was running fine at the Port Sanilac store until we switched to new management. And since then things have been running poorly. The new manager, Jess setters, is passive aggressive with her employees and I feel like I was terminated wrongfully.
I had only asked for the schedule to be changed twice, and I didn't end up going in at different times, I went in as I was scheduled.
She didn't give me a warning or anything. I have no write ups or previous issues.
I took a mental health break that SHE approved, and for her to use that against me after I've been getting counseling and medication to help and showing up for my shifts is nonsense.
Shes abusing her status of power and treating underlings horribly. To fire someone without warning or provocation is wrong.
Especially when this manager is regularly breaking rules. (Taking expired foods home, leaving in breakroom. Hiding items until they go on the lowest discount before being pennied out).
She needs to be under revision for her position as soon as possible.

I visit Dollar General in Jennings Missouri at 6400 West florissant Avenue on Sunday March 19th at approximately 9:48 a.m.. when I entered the store the cashier had an earpiece in and was having an extremely loud conversation about her job how there are no managers on duty and how very disgusted she was with working at Dollar General and how they don't train people they just throw you in here, however she was standing there working. I could hear her conversation in the back of the store and when I went to check out there was a person who was asking about a digital coupon she told him that he would have to wait because there were four people in line as she was very disrespectful to him. He went and got the sign from where he had picked up his coffee and showed it to her and she went on to tell him that expired yesterday and he replied you guys need to update your signs and she said to him ...or you need to read, reading is fundamental, the f***. This female stood there with pink and gold hair twisties in her head tied up into a ponytail and was the very reason why that particular Dollar General is so unpleasant to visit. Meanwhile all of her disrespect going on there was a man standing to the left inside of a nook at the front of the store right at her register with marijuana spread out on the ledge rolling a blunt right next to her resister so I assume that she had to have known this person. He heck no discretion as she continued her rent about her horrible job. There was a young man towards the back of the store who was stocking items and was very pleasant spoke to everyone who walked back. I would assume that there would be cameras near the front entry that would collaborate this complaint.
Desired outcome: She needs to be taught job etiquette. there needs to be disciplinary action behind that.

I went to store # 01482,
after paying my items and using my coupon, I noticed on the receipt that one of the items the price was not the same that was on the shelve. I went back to the store and ask the cashier if the price on the item can be adjust because it was over $2.00 difference, he went to the Manager and lady say no, that the price was whatever the machine marks, because the item was in the shelve because she did not have space to put them. The way she answered to the employee was horrible. I ended up returning all the items, first it my money and second this lady need to school to learn manners. Anyone can be a store Manager or can be in charge of one, but not everyone has the appropriate manners to be one.
I feel discriminated by this lady, this is the last time I'll go to this store.

The other day me and ex girlfriend had argument we finally broke up she is manager of store in armuchee, GA. Her name is Giovanna zamora she is trying to ban me from coming in store that I have business when I came through door she started on me! Ok also her boyfriend lives with her his name is Bobby! I'm not gone bother her or speak to her I'm not a theif! My complaint is about the Dollar General Store in Deridder Louisiana Store # 4805. This is my second time doing a complaint about this store.
For starters i normally am not the type of person who files complaints on a business and emoyee but this needs to be dealt with because this store is losing money because they are lazy and dont wanna keep products stocked, plus the manager and assistant manager should not be rude, unprofessional and straight up lie to a customer's face when I know she is lying. I go to this specific store because it is closest to my house and it used to be my favorite Dollar general store when the old workers were at the store and I never had a problem and they were all so friendly, helpful and polite. I enjoyed shopping their when they ran it but the manager quit and the other 2 became assistant managers at different times and then they got promoted to managers and got their own store and all the Great ones are not at this store anymore. Now i hate to even go there. I specifically go shopping their for redbulls daily because of the deals on the buy 3 12 0z. ones. I filed a complaint before about them not haveing the flavored ones stocked in the coolers but they were on the shelves because i always check. I let the manager know about it in the past and she blamed it on the assistant manager Tim that was there then and he wasnt stocking the coolers,like it was only his job to do and not hers to help as she is the boss.Then last week same thing i got 1 cold and 2 hot ones that were in a different spot set up in a redbull stand at the end of an aisle. As the manager checked me out i politely asked her again if they could try keeping them stocked in the cooler that i didnt see any of a certain flavor on the shelf where they always are but that i got it on the redbull stand. And her response was she didnt know where they where they put them when they are delivered. I feel like she is just making up something to justify it and lying.I politely asked her if they could keep them stocked in the cooler so they would be cold so I can drink them right away instead of having to come home put them in fridge and wait for them to get cold enough to drink. Well I worked the overnight shift last night at my job and went by the store because I wanted my redbulls this morning and was ready for a cold one. Got there at 8 am. And the manager( I forgot her name)and assistant manager Michelle was standing outside talking and smoking a cigarette already instead of starting work. I went in and checked the coolers for the ones I like in 12 oz which is the Dragon Fruit, Watermelon or Peach flavors and they had none in the cooler but had 2 of those flavors on the shelves and then they also have a redbull stand at the end of an isle close by that has some on it. So I wasn't able to buy any unfortunately and she came in and was behind the counter and I heard her mumble oh [censored]. I told her there were no cold redbulls and are on the shelves and need to stock them but she didn't respond and I kept waking. And Michelle the assistant manager was rude to me. I told her about nobody ever stocking them and she looked me in the eyes and lied to me. She said they don't stock the redbulls in the cooler that the company does when they bring them. I've cashier a few times and yes the guys who deliver Always stock the product in the coolers and the test go on the shelves and then it's the employees job to restock them when they get low or out. So yes I'm very upset with both of them and they are making the company miss out on money and losing customers because of it. After this morning I am no longer going their anymore. Corporate needs to repremend both of them and definitely should start looking for better leader/ workers.
Desired outcome: Need to get better management and people who wanna work and are friendly to customers and keeps items stocked where people wanna come there and feel welcomed and are making the company money, not losing money.

I visited the general dollar store on 04/03/23, located 2156 White Street, York PA, I was looking for a dish soap when I took it, I dropped it and it broke, an employee went and from the first moment I had a bad attitude and I asked her if she wanted me to clean up the liquid that had fallen so she answered no because there were cameras and that was her job, I was very embarrassed, so I asked her if I had to pay for it and she said yes. that person was behind me looking at me the whole time in the aisles of the store. That person confronted me and had a very bad attitude towards me. Employees must have empathy with customers in situations like you are and not make the customer feel bad. I felt watched and misguided because I am Latina and she believed that I did not understand what she was saying to me. I paid for the broken product but you must teach your employees to treat people with kindness and empathy.
