Customer and staff safety
today Oct 5th 2021, while shopping at Dollarama in Pierrefonds, I noticed a customer did NOT have a mask on, I was quite taken back by this so I told him he needs to wear a mask, its the law - he swore at me and told me to mind my own business. I continued to search for the items I needed and went to the cash to pay for me things, the man was ahead of me...

Hello, My name is Mehrdad Paknezhad, Biomedical Researcher at École de technologie supérior. On Saturday, 2021-09-18, I went shopping at Dollarama, located on Saint catherine street-Montreal-Quebec, 1616 Rue Sainte-Catherine O, Montréal, QC H3H 1L7, code of shop: 410. I went to buy small pack of soil which was not in the shelves. I saw one of the employee...

Check out service
I was waiting with my hands full of items to purchase and there were three employees standing behind the counter counting money and talking as if there wasn't a customer waiting. This took place at the dollarama on Jefferson and Main in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After a couple of minutes (without being acknowledged) the worker called me over. While she rang up my purchase, she stopped a couple of times to talk to someone who was behind me in line. She packed my bag and it was all torn. They were all from the same country and spoke in another language, almost like they were socializing. Since when is rhe customer not first anymore? Am I going to a social event? When I go into a store should I take a back seat and watch them socialize with one another and ignore the fact that I have places to be and transportation to catch. Your stores employees have no value for customers whatsoever.
Desired outcome: They need better training and to be told that when customers are waiting to SHUT IT UP!!!
customer service very rude and racist
on my lunch today June 29, 2021 I went to the Oakville Dollarama 290 North Service RD W. After got few things I need went to paid the cashier (can be a manager in that store) she said the dogs poo bag was broke no price so she can not scan for the price, I told her all few new one is very high and I can not get it. She told me sure she will send someone go inside and get the new one. After she's got the new one she's scan the new one and gave me the broken one I told her can I have the one not broken? The cashier she told me it's the same I told her no it's not because one complete and one is broken and paid for the new not the broken one. She told me next time don't come to the store ? I don't understand how she's can be that rude. I went back to my office and my staff told me she was rude to me because I am Asian? I told the office the whole story to see if I was wrong because I paid for the new one I have to get the broken dogs poo bag?
I didn't ask not to paid for what I want buy that cashier she has no right to talk to me or anyone else like the way she was with me
That was very rude. She was supposed to give you the good bag.
Lack of Loyalty, Head Office Doesn't Care
Dollaramas in Durham region are terrible now. What kind of business tells the stores to lay off all none full-timers?! Especially when those part-timers have been with the store for 2, 3, 4 plus years! NOT FAIR, NOT RIGHT. Not all of us were eligible for EI or CRB!
My complaint is with the Dollarama in Cranbrook B.C
I'm an employee at this Dollarama. The people making the schedule are very often late with posting the schedule for the next week. From what I was told they do not have to post the schedule till Thursday for the following week. First of all this does not give much time for anyone to make arrangements for the following week on days off and find myself having...

Staff member
I was in a cash line up yesterday in the Port Credit store in the Loblaws mall. A little child of 3 had a funny birthday hat on his head with fake candles on it and he was happy has can be. I spoke with the child in conversation about the hat. All of a sudden this woman comes from the cash down the line to the child, not the mother and tells the child athouratively that he can not have the hat, . The mother asked why and was informed it is not for sale because of the Covid. The mother explained she did not see a sign, and I agree, the signs are very small and not clear. The woman at the store then proceeded to tell the child that now she is going to throw out the hat. I was appalled. Okay, the child did wear the hat and it was so called contaminated, did she have to chastise someone else's child, especially a child so young. I have seen this type of employee behavior in other Dollaramas, like Belleville, where a customer try's to return a product that was purchased and it doesn't work and the employee refuses and then waits until the customer has left and tells the next employee in the line up to watch, that the customer trying to return the product will now try to steal another. This is terrible that any company especially a Canadian company would allow employees to treat customers this way especially when the customers provide their income and success. Simply shocking.

Desired outcome: These store Managers need to be spoken to to advise their staff this is not how customers should be treated.
Staff Racially Discriminated Customer
I am writing to inform you of your staff located in Portage La Prairie Manitoba [protected], the store manager herself made racial slurrs toward a woman and was very discriminatory to her.
This unfortunate incident has been caught on video and posted on the internet which is how i had came across, Please Train your MANAGEMENT BETTER THAN THIS... Very disrespectful.
Desired outcome: PROPER MANAGEMENT TRAINING AND NEW MANAGER AT THIS LOCATION
Wrong price
On April 25, 2021, I got 4 plastic containers at $2.50 each The cashier scanned the items at $3 each. There's still lots of containers on the shelf its price for each it is $2.50. The next morning I phone the store the lady said they cannot adjust the price. That was so rude. I am so upset. That's it you cannot do something about it. That's ridiculous. You guys are disappointing. I have the receipts and the items.

I was at this Dollarama (123-129 Lombard Street, Smiths Falls, Ontario) store today and it was very busy. There was only one cashier on cash and only one other employee in the store. The cashier was very slow perhaps she was new. When we suggested she should have called for backup she indicated the other employee was on her break and there was no one for...

Bayfield Strret in Barrie has changed to self checkouts. Every time I go in the store the staff give me attitude when I ask for a cashier. I don't have a credit card or debit card and pay for my purchases by cash. If your stores are no longer going to provide customer service or open cashiers you need to advise the general public. I will no longer shop at this store as the staff are extremely rude.
Desired outcome: Proper staff training
Exactly! Was in the LaSalle AS store today, buggy full...got to the checkout and was directed to the self checkouts. No thanks I want a clerk. She was in break I was told and again directed to self check machine. Asked if I get a discount for processing my own sales, was laughed at. Ok no problem. Bye and walked out. Now you can put away all my items. Give us the option or at least out a sign on the door that there is no service.
Shortchanged $20.00
April 06, 2021 approximately 11:13 am, the cashier handed my changed back in as a crumpled mess of bills and a large amount of change. I paid with a $100.00 bill. I suspected something was wrong so I immediately counted my change when I got back to my vehicle as I had kept the coins in my hand and placed the crumpled mess in my purse as I only had the...
Read full review of DollaramaMisleading prices beware check receipts
I was at the Dollarama location 301 Queen street Bolton ON today. I purchased a dry erase pocket with a price of 1.50 than I cashed out I decided to look at my receipt and they had scanned for 2.00, I purchased 3 of them so I went right back in, and the assistant manager said "sorry it's dollarama"
So I said to her when I pick up an item the price I see it's not guaranteed and she said "yes, it's dollarama". This is called false price advertising. You need to teach your empoloyees some customer service I wasn't given any solution, A big franchise I expect more!
This is actually not only misleading, it is in fact illegal. Contact Consumer Affairs. And/or the media. CBC might look your story and expose them on Marketplace.
Masks
I was in estevan saskatchewan dollarama today. The family in front of me were wearing mask except the dad /father he was only covering his mouth. Another family came through the door and the dad/father had his mask on his neck. Big suprise these two genius' decided to visit! What the hell is wrong with people. I finally make it to the till, the store clerk asked me for my postal code are you freekin kidding me! All I want to do is get the hell out of the store! This is not the first I have seen this in our store.
Self checkout not accepting cash or a pain to use cash to pay for purchases
At the Dollarama at Eastgate Square in Hamilton/Stoney Creek there is now only the self checkout option when paying for the items you want to buy anything at any Dollarama in Canada, why is that? Did the higher ups decide because of the Pandemic to eliminate good customer service practice(s) at all Dollarma Stores in Canada Forever and ever and discriminate against the homeless which are more because lots of people have lost their jobs because of the Pandemic. This means that Dollarma only wants to everybody to only use debit or credit to pay at the self checkout and not cash. I have no problem at Shoppers Drug Mart paying with cash at their self checkout because they care about their customers and Dollarma never did in the past or in the present or in the future. Does Dollarma want to go bankrupt? It seems that they do.
Desired outcome: Dollarma at Eastgate Square, Hamilton, Ontario,
Customer service
I encountered an employee on March 12 at 2pm (Indian, just like me. Aged 20-25). She was rude to me. I was waiting in line, she asked me to wait as she thought I cut line or something. Then customer in front of me told her that I was right behind her. After that I tapped my visa card, it got approved. But she told me to wait as if it was declined or something. No customer service at all. No hello, thank you or smile. If you have any attitude problem, plz don't work in customer service job, you are ruining someone's day. I will never come to this store again.
Abusive, discriminatory behaviour by an employee
I went to buy a few items at Dollarama, 4735 Rutherford Rd, unit 102, Nanaimo, BC, V9T 5S5, last night the 9th of Match 2021 and was verbally abused by the ship assistant when I was trying to explain to her that I had a medical exemption in regards to wearing a mask. She told me that it was store policy not to let anyone in regardless of anything that I wa...
