Your apps are poorly designed to encourage driver service.
For about the 20th time, we have been left by doordashers that drop our order because it's too inconvenient for the 20% tip we offer.
The whole concept of 'tipping before you receive your order' is utterly ridiculous. It encourages dashers to play favorites, ditch or steal bits of the order, and drop off at wrong addresses or lazily abandoning orders.
You shouldn't even apply tips until after the delivery has been made, such as in the uber app.
You should also demand that drivers at the very least knock on doors or ring the bell. Over half of our orders go astray because the drivers 'drop and ditch'.
The app design, and the webapp design, is badly configured.
Desired outcome: Change the web program and app to allow customers to tip AFTER their order has been delivered, based on the actual driver performance, and prevent drivers from being able to pick and choose based exclusively on tips.
Ordered from app, restaurant is closed for whatever reason.
1/1/2023 10:30am I ordered food from Big Sharks Fish and Chicken. I placed the order, received email and text of confirmation that the restaurant have received my order and are preparing. I waited about 45 mins to an hour to receive my food. I always have to check my phone to look at the driver picking up my food and bringing it to me. I have to look at my phone when I have placed the order because I have had countless issues with door dash before. The driver had made it to the restaurant to pick up my order. I received a text from the driver saying the restaurant is closed. I assured the driver the restaurant was open because the app says that it was opened. The restaurant would be dimmed if not opened or not in service. Called the customer service line because now I’m frustrated. Talking with the agent was no help either. The customer service agent had to be new because she didn’t understand anything. Already I understood that I would be refunded back my money. Slowly explaining everything to the agent made the situation even worse. I had to calmly ask her why in app the restaurant says opened, but the restaurant is close. One of her explanation were that the restaurant doesn’t tell door dash they are closed. That did not make any sense whatsoever because the restaurant pays door dash to advertise their food. Door dash does not make nor sells the food. Her second explanation was that something must be wrong with my phone. Now I’m turning colors, she’s just telling me anything to get off the phone. At this point I’m just ready to flip out on her. So I just hung up because I was getting ready to use vulgar language towards her. It was to early in the morning for nonsense. I ended up getting a refund back. The reason why I’m so upset with door dash because, if you want your money back onto your bank card it would wait 3-5 Business days to receive money. People don’t have money sitting around to spend not receive what he / she has ordered then it takes a couple of days to give it back. I’m pretty sure door dasher know about the recession that we’re in. Door Dashers is losing money too. Nobody wants to just spend money, and especially a funky $50 for outside food (that will be eaten within an hr), and still has to make meals for the rest of the day. The situation was poorly taken care of. The entire situation was messed up. Not only did I have to reorder my food again but now I have wait another 45 mins to an hour to receive my food in my hands. Door dash does not give crap about their customers. Then I read the rating and reviews that was left from other customers. One person said they were closed since 4/1/22. So the restaurant has been closed since April. In the app it’s open for businesses. I did tell the agent “so door dash is taking people money”. They will refund it back to your bank card. It’s just going to take a couple of days to it back to you. That’s technically stealing.
Desired outcome: An explanation of why they have restaurants open in their app, and the restaurants are not currently open. Why are you guys creating angry customers? They have to why, or they don’t care.
Never receiving order and not getting a refund.
On December 23 2022 I placed two orders. One for Antelope liquor $31.44 and one for Cheveron 33.44. The driver came and said he would not deliver, my daughter which is 31 years old and present with ID, he still refused. I then placed another order that never came. I contacted door dash customer service the next morning and chatted with the person on the other end. I sounded like I would be getting a refund. I also have screen shots of the conversation. Then 5 days later I hadn't heard back so I contacted them again and was told sorry we can't give you a refund. Yesterday I contacted them again the 29 and asked for a phone number [protected]) I spooke with someone and they said I would get a call back within two hours and he would also call back and see if this matter is taken care of. Well never got a call back. I feel if I didn't get my orders I shouldn't have to pay 64.88. If this matter is taken care of asap I will take further action, At this point door dash has very poor customer service.

Christmas dinner delivery to my 95 year old stepmother
On 12/22/22 I placed an order with DoorDash for delivery of Christmas dinner from Red Lobster Times Sq. New York NY.. The order was to be delivered between 5:15 & 5:45 pm on 12/25/22. I received notification that the order had been received. My Stepmother & her aide were looking forward tot their dinner.. When the order had not arrived at 5:50 pm, I called DoorDash. After being on hold for 10 minutes, I spoke w someone who said the order had been cancelled. I asked when? 1st he says they are closed. I tell him that is untrue. Within 2 minutes after he told me of the cancellation, I receive a text message that itthe order has been cancelled. It is now 6 pm in NY. I ask who cancelled the order and am told Red Lobster did.
I call the restaurant and am told that a) the restaurant is open & b) the restaurant did not cancel the order.
I am LIVID. How do I get my 95 year old replacement dinner this late on Christmas dinner?
I ask to speak to a supervisor and am told there is no one available, I will be called within 24 hrs.
This is the 1st & last time I use DoorDash.

Food not delivered to me
I ordered from a Mexican grill 12/20/2022; the dasher was pretty quick to pick up my order. I am at work let me add that. I received a text saying my dasher was approaching with my order. I never seen the dasher, I then look at the app wondering where my food is, and it was delivered but not to me. I called the dasher and asked where my food was, he said I gave it to the lady at the front desk, I am the lady at the front desk {the only lady}. I said you did not give it to me. I then went into detail of the building; he said no I delivered it to the grey building which so happened to be the main office of the company I work for. We have 7 buildings all in a 6-block radius. If he would have followed the GPS to my location with the address provided, we would have no problem. I order from door dash all the time and have no issues at all. I called Customer service, and they said there is nothing they can do to help me. Then they proceeded to call me a fraud. I have only made one call to them and that was when Taco bell could not make my husband's order and taco bell had the dasher call me and said I needed to cancel my order. How is that being a fraud? You are that not me. Your driver Delivers my food to the wrong address and then y'all do not give me at least the food money back so I can order something else. I went without food due to your driver's mistake. How dare you Door Dash treat people who use your service any way but nice. You have lost my business for good. My family and friends will be boycotting you as well. I went to my bank to file a claim yesterday after all this happened. I hope people around the world see this. I will use Waitr or UberEats from now on.
Desired outcome: I would like at least my food money back; I definitely deserve an apology from Door dash. I am not sure who owns this company, but they need new customer service reps that have respect for us customer.
Food not delivered and Door dash refused to refund my money
I placed an order to Little Caeser's pizza, and the Door Dash driver picked up the pizza and 20 minutes later cancel my order without delivering it. I then placed a called to customer service, in which they told me that I would have to call Little Caeser's in order to get a refund. They proceeded to transfer me to the customer service line, and I waited for 15 minutes but no one answered my call. My mom also called Door dash and was transferred but no one answered her call either.
In my opinion this is simple theft by conversion and is illegal according to the laws of this state. Theft by conversion occurs when the defendant, after lawfully receiving funds from another under an agreement to make a specified application of them, knowingly puts the money to his own use in violation of the agreement. O.C.G.A. § 16-8-4 (a). When the defendant (driver) picked up my pizza he kept the item that I paid for and probably ate it.
Desired outcome: I want my money refund back ASAP!

It says in my profile to ring my doorbell and hand my order to me. Today 12/6/22 I made an order and the delivery person left my bag outside. I live in an apartment building. They didn't even bring the bag inside the building, just left it sitting outside. I have called and complained about this problem quite a few times. It is disrespectful to leave food that I have to eat in any high traffic area. I can come downstairs to get my food but at least ring the bell and hand it to me. I feel like doordash does not care about the clients. I am not a dog, don't leave my food on a dirty floor whether it's in a bag or not
Desired outcome: I need my tip removed from this driver!!!
Delivery service
Ordered Ihop through door dash on 12/2 that was suppose to be delivered by 653. By 7:09 we had called because our food was extremely late. The driver tried to say the food was not ready, when we had already called IHOP and our food had been waiting. We attempted to cancel the driver, and she messaged me telling me that she was on her way to get the order. I told her we cancelled her and I wanted the number to her supervisor. Some guy called and asked if I wanted to cancel the drive, I told him yes, not knowing that they were going to send someone else. He promptly said he was cancelling the driver and hung up. I called the main 1800 number and spoke to a guy named John that informed me that the whole order would have to be cancelled. I told him we had not been told that, so he did it sent me a text and said he would call IHOP to ensure that the original driver did not get the tip. He placed me on hold, and never came back he just hung up the phone. I had ordered door dash through the IHOP website.
Desired outcome: I want an apology and to ensure that the delivery driver did not receive the tip originally submitted.

I had been with Doordash before the pandemic and was a subscriber. I always gave good rating as well as tips. However if food was missing and/or not delivered to me (with the exact location to my home) I did give that review and expected a refund. I thought that’s why you give the feedback to them. I never tried to scam DoorDash’s or the drivers because I understood this how they make their living. But on that not if I paid for something I expected it to be at my door. Now when I called DoorDash to find out why and how to get my account reactivated, I received the run-a-round. After 6 phone calls and emails and promises I have nothing.
If this how this company wants run their business they can keep it and I’ll use Grubhub and UberEats.
Be aware of this company they can and will deactivate your account without warning and and their customer service is rude and no help what so ever!

A bad rating from BBB.
I’ve had MULTIPLE problems with DoorDash from orders never being delivered, taken back to the store after they’ve been marked as “delivered”, orders being dropped off at the wrong house when the directions to my house are VERY CLEAR.
Their customer service is HORRIBLE! After calling multiple times for different issues they have had no record of orders, don’t punish their drivers for stealing orders or for dropping them off at the wrong house or taking orders back to the store when all they had to do is call for directions. They refuse to give back delivery fees.

Witnessing an interaction of a door dash delivery person with a petsmart employee
I was shopping at PetSmart on Bay Area Blvd estimated time 12:30pm to 1:00pm on 11/30/22. I overheard a Door Dash employee berating a PetSmart employee over the military and how it has declined due to Gay people being allowed to serve. He advised our country was at WAR, due to individuals using pronouns. He was arguing with a Veteran who was a female cashier and called her a [censored]. His behavior was deplorable. This man was in an OVER the top, AGITATED state. This behavior Truly Frightened me. From what I could hear, he was in Petsmart to pick up for some sort of electronic dog collar? Wow!
I'm writing, due to his behavior and aggressive conduct and agitation. This man is NOW off to someone's home. Yikes! Door Dash needs to Vet or train their pick up folks better! A customer or store employee could get hurt or worse!
His discription: White male, 6'3'. dark hair, dark facial hair (goatee, beard} 30's? This man could be deemed a major liability to your company and image.
Desired outcome: Vet your employees and train them regarding their representation of behavior and conduct while working for your BRAND. This individual needs to be reviewed.

Ordered chili from Krystal. I paid about $6.00 include tip, tax, etc. Real inconvenience.

Door dash refused to give me a credit for an item paid for but not delivered. I have had times documented where a driver stole some of my order, You have all info, Go to my name. Punch orders. Go to Krystal. If you refuse to help me then I will tell my bank, US department of Treasury, and social security to start a case dispute against you. They will pend the total $27.00 order. They will give you proper notice of the dispute. You must reply with 14 days. If you don't $27.00 will be recredited.

Several miss deliveries
I've ordered several items from Macy's during the Black Friday sell. Macy's is using DoorDash DoorLI to deliver packages which I was not aware of. In the last 7 days all of my packages have not been delivered even through they've sent me conformations saying my packages have been delivered. I've been on the phone for hours with both DoorDash and Macy's and neither company can provide me with an answer to where has my packages been delivered too. Sad part is I can no longer take advantage of the Black Friday sells because the sells are over. People be careful with DoorDash: for some reason a lot of product comes up missing with there Dashers.
Desired outcome: I would like for somebody to be held accountable. There's no way all my products should be marked as delivered but was never delivered. also what happened to the pictures that the dashers normally take to prove the product was delivered?

I placed an order from Whatabuger on 11/19/2022. We were missing some items, which were the fries that came with the meal. I typed that into the support system and received a call from [protected]. The woman said you weren't missing anything, we checked the bag before we left. It came off very rude. I stated that I don't need to lie about fries, there were no fries in the bag, and she said sure there wasn't and hung up. I assumed it was someone from Whataburger, and I called the store, they said it was the Doordash employee who called me at 7:12pm on 11/19/2022. Within 7 mins we got a knock at the door from a male delivering fries. I called [protected], which is a number from Greenville, SC. The man answered and said I don't speak English. Full refund plus compensation for trouble
Placed breakfast order through door dash on 11/22/22 at 4:56 am. Ordered breakfast for four plus drinks. Door Dash driver, Ronald delivered four cokes and no food! When customer service through Door Dash was contacted, 2 agents refused service. I was refused redelivery (which I would have taken) or any sort of refund. Door dash tried to blame me, saying I had filed a complaint before. They are now blaming customers for having problems with orders. Essentially, it was my fault they messed up.
