financing abuse, ghost numbers and harassment, questionable financing scam, excessive debt, mysterious charges
I know this sounds cliche but after paying my car for so long it seems like I was going to be old and Gray by the time I finish paying it every time it was something else every time it was a new charge I ended up paying way too much for a card I thought was supposed to cost me $18000 Indiana they got way more than that and I refuse to pay anymore in the vehicle I it's too expensive for me what should have been $368 month turned into almost $500 a month in payments and nobody would talk to me or give me a straight answer all the paperwork that I signed did not have these ridiculous numbers on them I cannot get anyone to respond to me I wanted all the extras that they put on off nobody got back to me
subaru forester 2009
I bought a 3009 Subaru forester from Drivetime and from the moment of the sale I just felt like I was being duped, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt, I put down a $500 down payment on this car and the price said $12000, but after interests it came to 18, 000, where my payments were 400 a monthl. I drive the car for 2 weeks before my wheel comes completely off for no reason, other than not being serviced at all Pryor to sale! I went to take the car back to try for a different vehicle, but they said I had to put more money down, after I was almost killed from their scam work. My name is Zebediah Gunter, my number is [protected]. Email is [protected]@yahoo.com. thank you
silverrock warranty
Silver rock is indeed the worst company ever. I initially contacted them in March of 2019 due to ticking noise coming from my engine. I was well in my mileage to have any repairs covered under my warranty. I was sent to a company called Mr. Tire when in fact I had been told several times that it was most likely an issue with the lifters in my motor. Went their and that's what they advised as well. Yet they stated that they had no was to handle this type of diagnostic or job if that was the case and they referred me back to silver rock. I called them back and they referred me to Precision Tune, and a Mr. D's auto shop in North Carolina. Neither business could diagnose it or work on it with that being the case. They all said that it was most likely the lifters. I called silver rock back and was then told since I have been in contact with multiple facilities and nothing has been resolved that they will refer me to the dealer as a courtesy.Ha, ha, ha, a courtesy. Mind you I was still dealing with my own personal tragedy of going through a miscarriage. Why couldn't I go to the dealer in the beginning. So this was Friday 6/27/2019. Went to the dealer on Saturday to get 3 recall items done and was told to come back on Monday for diagnostic and quotes. Got there at 7:30am on Monday 7/1 and sat there 2 1/2 hours. The gentleman at Dodge called silver rock to get the approval for the repairs. t indeed was the lifters needing to be replaced. Total expense 2100.00..They then advised the gentleman that I was now 217 mile outside of my warranty therefore the claim was denied. According to a manager by the name of Rebecca the claim doesn't go from the date you initially call in the issue. A new claim is filed anytime you go to a new facility. Never used my warranty and paid all this money for nothing. They gave me the run around and I'm sure it was on purpose to allow my warranty to expire. Great job Silver rock. I would not recommend this company to anyone honestly. They are a bunch of crooks and have no understanding.Basically at this point I'm being told there is nothing that can be done. Asked to speak with someone highers and was advised that the Director Mindy would reach out to me. And they would review the calls because she was only showing me calling once. Haven't received any call. Honestly looking for a lawyer. According to everyone they sent me to this is their common practice. Send you to little rinky dink shops to get a cheaper price while waiting on you to go over your miles. Never experienced anything like this in my life. I am a single mother and I would never take advantage of anyone in this way. This company should be shut down.
car and customer service
I have been only leasing this car for 2 years and now i have a blown transmition and still owe 12000 on the car. But when i first bought the car i called saying that there were issues with my car and they did nothing but treaten if i didnt pay the would repo my car. At that time i had already had to get a new motor. This is the worst company and they need to be shut down.
the high entrance to be paid
I completely didn't understand why the entrance was so high, Me knowing my credit was not the best .I had a friend co-sign for me after singing all papers I noticed that it said twice the amount of the sticker price.I asked why was it that high ? She explained because of my low credit and also the add on of warranty.Me and my co-signer agreed to the terms under knowing that I had five days to return the vehicle I made up my mind not to keep it after five days .When I returned to the dealership I was out of time .
billing/fraud
I bought a 2008 Pontiac Torrent from DriveTime. At the time I put $1000 down and paid on the vehicle for over 3 years. I called them in December to come pick the vehicle up because it wouldn't run. I was looking through my documentation and noticed that they added all these extra services like mechanical coverage and gap insurance when I specifically told them I was not interested in that since my husband is a mechanic. I paid way over the value of the vehicle in the amount of $17, 905. They are reported on my credit that my last payment was 4/13/2018 which is incorrect and I did not return the vehicle to them, they came and picked it up. They harassed me by threatening to have me arrested and calling several times daily. They are unethical and prey on those trying to better their credit. They should not be allowed to be in business and should not be allowed to sell lemons to their customers. They are now trying to sue me for over $8000 they believe they are owed in interest when I already paid over $17, 000 for a vehicle valued at about $3000.
drive time repossession
I was in a desperate situation. Ended up very upside down in the car. I ended up surrendering it to them. I heard nothing for over 3 years. In fact. About a month after I surrendered it, it completely dropped off my credit as though the loan never existed. I assumed they either turned around and sold it to the next sucker or because the finance company had changed there name to Bridge crest, perhaps my sale was questionable in legal proceedings. Anyway, it was gone and I went on with my life until recently. Over 3 years later. I received a letter owing a balance of over 6k and shortly after received a call from them. In Arizona, it's law that I be informed about auction etc. In the case of repossession. I received no notification whatsoever on any auction or remaining balance. It's almost as though they just resold the car and are coming after me for the balance I owed them. This has to be illegal. If they resold it on there lot or auctioned it off and recouped all or some of the balance I owed. How can I be liable for the whole balance I previously owed and never informed of the sale or what they recovered from it. It feels like there me be some illegality in this whole situation.
paying 10.58 daily interest
I purchased my car in 2016. I was never told my 12, 000 dollar purchase would total a 30, 000 contract purchase but in the long run possibly 50, 000 when drive time/Bridgecreast is done with me. I pay 10.58 daily interest meaning I'm only paying 100 dollars towards my 460.00 a month car payment. I will never pay this car off. If you can't help me I will get my own personal attorney. This is so wrong.
lemon vehicle
Sold me a vehicle with a used engine two month later the veh stop working thet replace the engine with a second used engine car broke down again the promise to fix it for 3rd time and change there minds and then demanded i pay for a new engine and continue to pay monthy fees i bought the vehicle back to drive time now they stating o owe 13000 and put a repo on my credit
bad record keeping/salesmen are sharks
A couple of years ago, my mom was in the market for a car. She had an accident that totaled her van that she paid off though DriveTime. She went out shopping for a new vehicle, but companies would not sell her one since she has no recent credit history. She let the car companies know that the recently paid off her van in full to DriveTime. They let her know DriveTime is not in her credit history at all.
She then went to DriveTime to ask them why they did not give any information to the credit serious of her payment history. They told her, they could not even find a record of her purchase. They ended up selling her an overpriced Chevy Malibu with $400+ monthly payments. She can barely afford a roof over her head, she did not need high car payments. Within a week or two of the purchase, she came to her senses and returned the vehicle. Drivetime accepted the return, and they sent her on her way.
Now, they are suing her for full cost of the vehicle. I bet they will add that to her credit history.
2017 ram
I purchased a 2017 Ram 1500. With approximately 24, 000 miles on it. Was told it still had the Manufacture Bumper to bumper warranty's. I also purchased an extended warranty from Silverrock, About 3 week after I noticed glass particles blowing from the air-conditioning system. I called the warranty company silverrock. Was instructed to go to Jeep Chrysler since it was under manufacturer warranty. Been under 30, 000 miles. In between the time that I took it to the dealership. The rains hit. The truck leaked water into the interior so bad that in the morning I can't even see out then one day the truck wouldn't even start. Had it towed to Jeep Chrysler. Then after their review. They had found that the truck had been in a serious accident. It wouldn't be under manufacturer warranty. This was surprising to me. I was never told. And was given a clean car report by DriveTime. After some time Silverrock finally honored and paid the dealership to do the repairs. With $100 deductible The Repairs included removing Glass particles from an air-conditioning system, resealing windshield, and replacing headliner. After a couple weeks I noticed that the rear dome light wasn't working. I change the bulb and it still didn't work. So I took it back to another Jeep Chrysler. then after their review they would not honor the that electrical repairs So I contact drivetime again and they said it's not under silverrocks warranty. It cost me $1000 for the repairs and $750 in car rental Which I paid to have a domelight repair.
I fear that this may be the tip of the ice berg of problems to come. After my research I paid fair market value. Considering that the vehicle had never been an accident. I don't know how to get out of this vehicle without losing a bunch of money. I feel like drivetime was dishonest or negligent
unlawful repossession unfair collection practices
Fell a few days late on my second payment they stared calling my phone 10 plus times a day even when I would answer and explain my situation and advise on the day I could have a payment drafte out of my checking account which would be the following wensday the agent refused to set up my payment or skip a payment as their website said they could do so I posted a check on their site my self for two paymentd they went in and cancelled my payment and put my acount in repossession status I reset the payment as a posted dated check again for it to draft on the wendsday for the double payment they repossed the car 1 day prior to the day when my payment would have covered when I called to offer the the 401 plus the repossesion fee to recover the vehicle they where rude and stated that I would have to pay 16000.00 + so not only did I loose the vehicle I lost 1500 down payment not including the prior payment that did take out my account... They prey on me and will resell this vehicle repeatedly taking people down payments the and reposssing cars as soon [censored] your 4 days late exc.. Repeatedly
auto sales
I am not pleased about being sold a car and lied to that it only has 1 key and no key fob . DriveTime is keeping the spare keys to make it easier to repossess their cars. Now I've paid my car off in full and they still lie . I want to sue. I've been to 43 lots in 7 different states test driving 187 separate cars. All the salesman swore they were only givin one key. Smells like BS . Check it out look at posted pic on the web some of the guys taking the pic with the cars started so u can see the mileage panned out to far and u can clearly see 2 keys and 2 key fobs.
car
From the day I bought it my car on March 5th I got 10 miles away and the check engine light came on I called them and they told me that I had to call the warranty people or I could come in right then and get it trade it in but I couldn't drive any longer I had to get my kids from school so I had to drive it and then they told me it would be voided that then I would have to take it to a body shop well I did that and it was just a hassle DriveTime was very rude they didn't explain anything well the car got looked at and fixed then I find out from my insurance company that the car has been in an accident when they told me and I signed papers that it hadn't been an accident I talk to Quality Control so many times so many complaints with the bigwigs of DriveTime
vehicle loan
We purchased vehicle from drive time, approx 1 year ago. We were purchasing based on the monthly amount we could afford, and I explained clearly to the salesman what our budget allowed. We agreed verbally on the amount we could budget, which was $250.00 per month. We were in a time crunch the night we signed contract and failed to read fine print. We made first payment on time, then two weeks later get a call that our pymt was past due. My husband and I were confused. I called Drive time to explain we made pymnt and I had proof, they informed me that our contract was bi weekly! I almost passed out. I located our contract and read, sure enough, bi weekly. We have had many car pymnts in past and never paid a $504.00 month payment, not to mention the car is 2012 with 116, 000 miles. The salesman was informed exactly what we could pay but purposely sold us knowing he was not being honest. He knew we would have walked out of the dealership if knew bi weekly of $252.00. I sent him email but he didn't take any responsibility. To add, we learn that the vehicle had been in a wreck but was reported on car history report they provided. Also, we have to ad oil to car weekly because it uses so much and when starts smoke goes out exhaust like explosion, I'm not even kidding. Due to our budget, our family only owns one car and this pymt is more than we can keep up with. Over the past year we have missed 4 pymts as we have tried our best to make both pymts monthly but can't keep up. Late charges are adding up. Regret this purchase. Hope you can help us. autodealer/financing fraud
In 2014 i bought a brand new Ford Escape for 17, 000.
A few months later my daughter needed a new vehicle so we went to drive time and purchased a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe for 17, 000. As of March 25, 2019 she has paid over 27, 000. Three months ago we were told she still owed 9, 000. Today she owes 12, 000! Never been late! They say i electronically signed a form stating i wouldpay 33, 000 for the vehicle! This is not true! I could, and should have gotten another brand new Ford Escape for her for her and our would be less than 33, 000! When asked numerous times to provide me a copy of this form i was told theywould email it but have not yet received it. Further more, all paperwork was completed in the showroom at that one visit to Drive Time. No computer work or additional forms were done via internet or computer. It was all hand written at the time and NO WHERE in the paper work is the amount of 33, 000 mentioned. I need to get in on this class action against Drive Time AND Bridgecrest, the "financial backers" for the contracted amount. Can some one please contact me?
took advantage of a disabled citizen
I got a car back from drive time about 2 to 3 years ago. They took advantage of me since i'm on disability. I don't know how they even got me to be accepted for the car in the first place. After the car was falling apart and they refused to help pay the expenses it got repossessed. After it got repossessed they threatened me over the phone telling me the irs was going to come after me if I didn't pay. They sold the car after it got repossessed and is charging me 9000 dollars they threatend me numerous times over the phone and demanding I pay the left over balance like I stated i'm disabled and they 100 percent took advantage of me. They told me the car gps stopped working so they couldn't locate the car for numerous months I believe this was [censored] so they could charge me extra months.
mechanical issues
I purchased a 2012 Chrysler 300 July 2018 the day I went to Lewisville Texas we had to drive to Plano Texas pick the car up. The car smell of cigarettes horribly it was not clean on the inside or not washed on the outside but I figured because we had to go pick it up so supposedly there was another buyer for the car but I beat them out supposedly. I had to take the car back they gave me some stuff too, like aerosol to let off in the car the first state to get rid of the cigarette smell had to go back a second time they gave me more aerosoft eventually after two or three days at work I noticed after the fourth fifth day the air wasn't working so I took it to maybe the first or second week I took it I noticed the air wasn't working because I work in the afternoon I really didn't need the air at that time 10 in the morning however on the way home 78 I still didn't mean the air because it was you know nice 70 80 degrees outside windows down. I notice three weeks in when I gave me the air it was saying it was on but I wasn't feeling any difference so the temperature in my car gauge read differently than what the weather days will be outside so they had me taken I called DriveTime be happy to take it to my send it warranty people and they stayed at NTA how everything's fine no it was not fixed it was still hot I could not control the air so I took it back to NTTA same thing the NTA was located on Trinity Mills in Carrollton Texas. I finally called silver Rock that was the name of my extended warranty and I and the maybe supervisor had differences but they had me send the car to pep boys in Addison Texas on Midway they figured out what the problem was it was the passenger side argue later by September the driver side went out in October the thermostat went out I just parked the car and drove my old phone I stopped working for that company November 5th and I just didn't have the sun silver Rock with no longer assist me they stated that I need to get caught up on my car note I agree with them but I disagree because you sold me a lemon my car note is due but at the same time we had an agreement and from day one is being bad and that is what DriveTime does they sell you card is that are in bad condition and they give you all this paperwork that stays all the cars has been an accident the car isn't if you see my car has been painted before but that's not on the documentation and as a person of desperateness I accepted that still does not give them right to take my money and I hold up to their bond had my car towed back to the same pep boys for $50 and for them to tell me what's wrong with it I had pick it up at $100 out of my pocket I saw another Chrysler they're just totally they were taking it apart totally taken apart the buyer hadn't had the car for one week yet I was told by DriveTime a white Chrysler and that is what one of the workers there told me we need to stop DriveTime from affecting people's credit with their lemon [censored] cars thank you.
fraud
This Company sucks. I co own a car with my ex girlfriend. They have repossessed the car once without informing me. My ex paid to get it back. Then DriveTime/ Bridgecrest allowed my ex to modify the Loan without my signature. I am saving money now to hire an attorney to sue the company. They forced me to illegally backdate the original documents threatening that they would take the car from me if I did not. Also they have breached my contract on 4 different occasions. I called drivetime bridgecrest for a copy of the loan modification and they told me they wouldn't do it, and admitted that they have only been sending information to my Ex's email and not mine.
total loss of vehicle
Accident occurred December 2nd. Bridgecrest notified by my insurance company. I received an email on December 20th from the total loss department stating what documents were needed. They had been sent to them by my insurance company but I sent the mb again. Each time I call I am told there is no claim on my car and I need to pay for a car that has been deemed a total loss. My insurance company sent bridgecrest a letter again on January 16th and yet nothing. I need this settled. I can't get another car until this is settled.
