Delay in getting calls for classes
I have passed RTA yard test on 21.05.2022 and gave a request for the individual class and highway on the same day. But till date I have not got a class booked or even received a call from them. I have called them number of times but I kept getting false promises that I will get a call in 2 days or so. Now it’s been 2 weeks. I’m still waiting. I raised a complaint on 02.06.2022 (ticket Ref.No: [protected]) for which I still have not a call back or any feed back.

Pathetic service
I passed my RTA smart yard test on May 1st. Today is June 1st. It has been 31 days, 1 month since I have receive a call to schedule my independent/highway class.
I have called atleast 20 times, emailed more than 5 times, but no response or action. I don't know what to do now. I am planning to file a legal complaint to my lack of respect given.
I would like to point the pathetic service that I have received. There is an option to place complaints- ref no [protected]. They say someone will connect to deal with escalation within 3 days, but it's been more than 10 days.

Schedule Takes A Lot of Time
I waited for more than a month for schedule. I got the schedule but hours before my training they cancelled the whole training.
Now, I cannot get anymore schedule. This is the worst driving school. My colleague on the institute already got his license and we enrolled almost the same time.

I am an engineer by profession and my company's demand is driving license, due to that I opened the file in EDI.
I asked at the time of opening the file that when will I get the license, then they said that it will be available in next 02 months then I got the file open and gave the money, now more than 03 months my license is far away, not even the full class has been done yet.
I made a lot of requests to the EDI team but no one is listening and giving date after date, I am very upset from EDI.
Now my request is I want license in next 1 month otherwise my money should be refunded and there should be a penalty on the EDI for wasting my time and Money.

Waiting for almost a month for my highway training.
i have been calling EDI Al qouz for almost a month now for my highway training and no feedback from them yet.
they always say that they forward my request to the proper department regarding the matter but until now i have not received any calls from them.
very poor service!
it's like i renewed my learning permit just to spend waiting for an open slot for the training.
poor scheduling system.!
i should have chosen a different driving school then!
they advertise that EDI is number 1 driving school but i dont think so...
i also witness a student got angry at the center because he has been waiting for more than 20 days already.
this is kind of violation to consumer rights.

Delayed/cancelled classes and inconsistent communication
Dear EDI Team,
Good morning, and your services suck! Hear me out!
I am currently at the highway class (stuck at it for almost 2 months now), the last stop to the final road test but at this point, I think I am about to give up on the license with this institution. The whole process has been and still is a nightmare.
"Some" of the call center customer staff service is plain rude and arrogant. I have been promised a return call from some support but they never do!
The Problem
I was scheduled for the final last two hours on 04/05/2022 at 3:30 pm, for a high way day class but on that day to get the class, I already waiting at Al Qusais institute by 1:10 pm, only to get another message that it was scheduled for 06/05/22 at 4:30 pm. I immediately walked to building 2 and asked the instructor why did they make this sudden change when I had already been there. He told me the instructor was not available. But got me another replacement from the Platinum class for only 1 hour!.
No problem, the final hour was scheduled for 15/05/22, but due to unfortunate events, the UAE president died (May Allah bless and forgive his soul). Then I kept calling the instructor (0547*, Mr. Muhammad), and the institute (Call center and online chat) over the period of 3 days till Tuesday morning but never got an answer, message, or callback. Nothing. Zero communication! (Attached are the message logs)

I kept calling him on several occasions via my home landline, work landline, and mobile phone, but to no avail. It's literary a lottery ticket to get through the calls and when you do, you are told they will get back to you, and they don't.
On 18/05/22 I got a message saying the classes were complete for RTA. Tried calling customer support to clarify but failed to get through. Sent someone to the office and they told me the system marked me as absent. WHAT THE HELL!
Why tell students that the text message we get to confirm classes are the only source of truth. Why add the instructor's number if they won't pick up their calls? Why say you rescheduled classes when you do not send the message of rescheduling and then keep saying the students have to pay! Does that make sense to you?
Question
How do I get my last 1-hour highway class I already paid for, and for some reason that has been rescheduled so many times? Of course, without paying that absent fine I had no control over (taking advantage of non-unlimited students I guess)!
Look, I am in no position to pay for the canceled class, over which I never got any confirmation message or call for a reschedule. Yesterday, some call support told me it was automatically sent to the next working day. How would I have known if I kept calling the instructor and institute over a period of the short holiday and the next Tuesday morning but no one answered me?
NOTE: On getting through on Wednesday the support people just kept telling me how there were no slots till next week and that they would get back to me! On sending someone to verify this for me at the institute they were told the system marked me as absent but magically the slots were available that day and the next 2 days, only if I had to pay for absenteeism.
If it was automatically scheduled, what happened to the students' classes on that day. Does that make sense to you? Wouldn't that be a cascading effect? Why does your call center keep making fools of us?
At this rate, I have come to also agree with my colleagues who kept telling me, that somehow, EDI gets to profit from delaying classes, canceling classes without notice, and marking people absent to make extra profits on learning permit renewals and class reschedules. It really might be true. It just sucks! WHY?
Again, sorry for my long email but am boiling with frustration...

Again, I wish I had listened to my colleagues who kept telling me not to go with EDI as the service is shyt. Forgive my language but, at this point, that's what it is. I could never recommend any of my peers at this point to go with EDI.

False promise to give class before RTA final road test & cancel Test due to incomplete hours
Dear Team, I am highly disappointed with the service of EDI team. I Failed on my RTA road test on 11 May 202, I rescheduled it on 19th & requested to give me class before that which was denied & was asked to postpone and rebook class on 23rd May, I postpone it on 23rd May as per the manager Yolanda D'mello. I waited for the confirmation of class booking, but she told me that class are confirmed & I can leave i will receive message. I did not leave the Al Quoz center,I was waiting infront of her but she insisted me to leave saying its confirmed and book. on 22nd May night 9.pm I received call from EDI center saying I have to postpone my RTA final test as I have not attended mandatory 4 class (which was not arranged by EDI despite of me following up wit CC twice).EDI agent postpone my RTA final road test to 31st May.
I renewed my Learning license on April and because of EDI fault I dont want to renew it. Its been a year now that I am still waiting for my test due to EDI not giving classes on time. I got to know from one of the manager that instructors takes leaves and then classes are cancelled for students. Why should I suffer if your instructor has taken leave how many time should I postpone my final RTA test. I have not yet heard from EDI team for my classes before test. I am expecting some positive action this time atleast.

Penalty amount requested by EDI for suspension of class during 3 days Closure on National mourning (14 -16 May)
My class was scheduled on 15 May’22 which was cancelled without any notification and customer care was closed to get any update.
Later it was reschedule by EDI on 17 May which not informed to me by any mode of communication ( phone , email or message).
After repeated complaint to customer care they book the the class on 19th May but now I receive message to pay the penalty amount of Aed 130 for missing 17 May’22 class which was never informed to me.
Why customer has to pay for missing class penalty if the reschedule of class not informed in advance to customer.
We raise this issue to Supervisor and customer care but no resolution till date.
Now instead of resolving my issue, I was informed by customer care that if I don’t pay this penalty fees then my RTA test will also be postpone (23rd May’22) and in this case I have to pay for both class & RTA rescheduling which I found not ethical & fair to customer.
Looking forward for quick resolution to my above case and direction for way forward.

Dear EDI team,
I normally do not complaint for anything, but such as successful and largest institute in UAE not operating the proper training schedule is very unprofessional. I have passed my packing test on 14th April, and requested to coordinator politely for next steps but not giving till now, and how many times I follow up on calls.
This is really annoying with the service. Is this just because of I have paid all fee you don't need to be care? I felt like I choose the wrong institute.
Please, I need my training schedule ASAP.

EDI has no customer service
This is my second complaint about EDI. It seems that they don’t even try to improve. I’m constantly straggling with the problem of booking the classes, hence it’s just ignored by EDI . Their customer service just pretending that this problem does not exist. They offer one time solution and assist with booking (after you try to reach them several times ), however same is repeating again and again.
I regret that I have became student in EDI. I wish I could just go to any other school.

One of the worst driving school in Dubai
I had joined for driving in may 2021, I joined this company inorder to get ma license in an urgent basis and I had paid for unlimited. They are not even giving Classes and tests regularly. I'm fed up with the service. I got ma final test in April 2022 first week and I failed. They informed me that I need to take class and still I'm waiting for ma classes. This is one of the worst driving school. I'm really really fed with them. I'm calling them daily and no one is responding.

Scheduling classes
I have submitted the request to the EDI office on the 28th of April. I have passed my theory test since March and I have paid my dues as well. Kindly note that I tried self-booking services on the student portal but can't as it says no classes have been scheduled yet. Whenever I call the call centre they don't pick up and I have sent mail twice now, their response is always automated. Saying that they have forward my request to the concerned department but they still have not contacted me.
Desired outcome: I want my classes scheduled as soon as feasible because time is going.

Waiting for classes to be scheduled for 3 weeks
It is a pain to get your schedule booked once you paid to EDI. I am on unlimited plan with EDI. So it looks like they are least bothered to cater to customer. Since the maximum amount has been and now they can make money by applying the renewal fee of AED130/- when called the customer service they have least empathy and are least bothered and just ask to wait or visit their premises to meet supervisor. If that’s the case then why have they employed customer care. Just waste of resources as they are not even raising the concern raised by customer. There is no standard procedure of training by trainers as well. Every trainer has their own preferences and procedures and which has to be beat by us while giving the test. The instructor will fail saying you need more practice and for that they don’t have classes available. Regret taking admission in EDI. Should have gone for another training school. No value for money or time that I have spent so far!.I regret joining this school .Each time I call customer care they you are on high priority.You guys take Money and don’t give a dam .Very bad I will not recommend anyone

Consumer complaint / pathetic and disrespectful service

I have succeeded in the parking test with RTA on the 08th of April and till now i'm not able to get a date for my next training, i have been calling the customer service with long waiting time but in vain.
I went physically to your Dubai Al quoz facility at 17/05/2022 06pm and was standing in counter 6 for a while and couldn't even talk to the lady and the gentlemen there, they were even not even listening to what i was saying with a very disrespectful behavior.
And EDI is making us pay to renew the learning permit every 3 months while we spent half of this period just waiting for EDI to schedule my training session.
I'm completely disappointed with this level of service and i spent a lot of energy tried to solve this miserable situation.

Complete lack of communication about driving classes
Today, I had a driving class booked in Al Quoz from 12:35 to 13:35. As per your rules, not attending it would cost me money to pay for an additional class. The website where I can book the classes had no mention at all that the driving classes were unavailable today, as well as displaying that I had a driving class today. Due to this, I had no information that driving classes were not available today, though I only learned when I actually reached Al Quoz and after being forced to spend over 70 AED for taxi transport.
When I reached, there was only a security guard telling me and 3 other men also expecting to attend a class, with the security guard being the only one to inform me that driving classes were not happening for another 2 days.
As I said, this lack of communication anywhere led me to have the expectation that driving classes were happening today, which cost me over 70 dirhams and in excess of 2 hours of my time, not to mention the possibility that the booking website's system may still label me as absent for a class.
Desired outcome: The money costed me in excess of 70 dirhams which is not pleasant at all considering I had no way of knowing that I should not have gone.

Misguiding customer on learning permit renewal
EDI has charged me additional 320 DHS stating RTA file renewal charges, (which was never communicated neither over email nor SMS, SMS came only for learning permit renewal) which are actually not taken by RTA.
Pathetic answers were provided by Mr. Ahmed Shahbaz supervisor of the customer care team (actual reason for not renewing the learning permit was provided by me as fly back to India on medical emergency for my parents, still edi didn't consider the same and told me that you are giving an excuse and charge additional 320 DHS for RTA file renewal + 140 for learning permit renewal total 467 including VAT)
On asking for the RTA receipt an EDI receipt was provided mentioning the course fee and RTA renewal fees (which is more misleading), however, the no fees were outstanding from my end.
only 1 request at least don't misguide the customers and charge the customers for actual services provided mentioning the correct services in the receipts as well. Seriously not happy with this kind of attitude of edi.

Delay in class
Hi, when I opened my file so I have been told that just need to wait for 2 weeks for 1 time but now whenever I have to book the class everytime I have to wait around 2-4 weeks just to get a single class. I never had such a experience with another school as I already have 2 wheeler license. I really regret to join this school as we all know our schedules are busy here but everytime we have to leave the work and go to school to ask about the class else they will never call you for the class. Whoever has free time to waste then come join this school.

I'm extremely disappointed with the service of EDI dubai. Had finished my RTA theory last 6th of April and till now didn't get a chance to have schedule actual drive test . Been 33 days on and hear nothing from them. I have a very high expectations about EDI because of what I heard from others.. but I think I made a mistake . How can they kept on getting people or applicants where they can't afford to give service to us. . EDI Dubai, Is this all about money? We paid a lot of money for this. . For me personally I paid for 7400 aed (Unlimited). And how can we recommend EDI to our colleagues who's planning to have a driving license?! POOR SERVICE!

Delay to Get Classes and Misbehavior from Booking Staff
It is a very very very bad experience from EDI, I started my journey through EDI last November and I renewed my Learning Permit in February due to a delay in getting classes from EDI. Now again my learning Permit will be going to expire this month (May 16). I am in the last stage of getting my license. I lost around 2 months due to getting delays in My Training classes and my learning permit will expire this month. Yesterday, I visited the EDI and explained my situation, and also this delay happened to me. and I requested them for my pending class. but the Booking staff was behaving to me like an enemy and they shouted at me very much. I said I already paid my full amount and then why you didn't give me training on time. they replied they didn't collect any amount from me so they have no responsibility for this. I don't know why they behave like this and why they treat us as enemies. I strongly recommended to you that if you can't give proper training on time, please don't collect cash from us. we are losing our money and our time.
