I tried using my Epson SC P6000 printer a couple of weeks ago. Got a small pop up in the corner of my monitor saying "printer in error" or similar. Checked web before calling and did all that was recommended. After several hours, called Epson service. Rep (Mario) spent more than an hour with me doing most of what I'd already done. Said it is a spooler problem. After more than an hour, rep said he would check with someone more knowledgeable and call me back. No call. After a week, on 09/07/2023, I called again twice (9:50 and 9:56am) because calls were dropped. Finally, at 10:06 a different rep (Joe) told me that if I'd not gotten a call back, the earlier rep (Mario) had not been able to find someone with more experience/knowledge to help solve the issue. It's now been more than two weeks since my second (09/07) call and still no service call back. I am having to pay print service providers for prints I should be able to make myself.
I've used Epson printers for many years. They break of fail in some irreparable way and I always go back for another. I do not understand why they are so highly regarded. Their printers are slow, cheaply made, especially the SC P900...all cheap plastic. Controls that should be able to be given from the computer have to be entered from the printer!? Do these people use their machines? DON'T BUY EPSON! $3,000+ for a lightly used and well-maintained machine and no help from Epson.
Desired outcome: Someone call me!!! If I need to pay for a service call, so be it. Cheaper than more than $3K for a new printer.
