overcharged for gas
I purchased gas at Esso, Couche Tard 1188, 395 Avenue Dorval Canada on Friday, July 13 for my rental car. All instructions were in French so went in provide my credit card. They asked me how much gas I wanted to charge and responded to keep my credit card since I wanted a full tank. Finally committed to $30 after they told me any amount not used would be refunded. It took $25.51 of gas so went in for the difference. The cashiers said that only the $25.51 amount would be charged to my credit card. You guessed it...I was charged for the $30. customer service - accusation for stealing gas
On July 13, 2018 around 10pm, my husband and I stopped by at above mentioned gas station. We have speed pass + app. We stopped at pump #7 only to find out this pump was "unavailable" from the app (plz see attached) We switched to a different pump within a matter of minutes.
Suddenly two employees (Atef and Benny) came out asking whether we gassed up at pump 7. I politely told them no and proceeded to explain we only switched to another pump to locate an "available" one from the app. They shook their head in disbelief. They didnt even glance at the app. At one point, one employee, Atef, said "I dont care". Apparently someone drove away from pump #7 after gassing up 8 DOLLARS. Frankly, what idiot would steal $8 of gas and stay in the same station only to switch to another pump?
I became really frustrated being implied as a thief and made to just stand there. They were accusing us for stealing gas, while my husband I kept telling them, no we have not gas up yet. I requested them to review their surveillance camera and they would have to pay for my time and disturbance once they see we are innocent. Atef agreed to review the camera then he proceeded to say I cant stay in my car and will need to follow him inside. While I had no intention to stay in my car in the first place, but his comment was so offensive to me because he was already treating me as a thief being worried about me running away. Two employees tried to review the surveillance camera. Neither one was competent enough to review the camera records, also failing to attend to at least 4 customers that was standing waiting. Note that at least two customers walked away because neither of them was looking after customers. Of course they failed to open the surveillance camera records as well. Atef told me to give him my license plate # so they can locate me after they check the record. I told him to go figure it out himself, as clearly he doesnt trust my words.
My own parents used to own a gas station. I know how gas station operation works. I know misunderstanding happens. I would've been more than happy to comply if they recognized that I had a valid reason for switching to a different pump. (To be honest, Atef and Benny didnt appear to know what that App was about. Is that acceptable? No!) I wouldn't have minded a little compliance in giving them my contact information, IF their service was done in a proper manner. Proper service wouldve been NOT shaking their head when I told them the truth (even if they dont believe me). They SHOULD NOT have said they DONT CARE about what I have to say to prove my innocense. Should all customers be treated like thieves unless PROVEN - not guilty?
My question is, could this be an isolated incident? I certainly do not think so. Why do I need to be humiliated as such for their loss of 8 dollars? Just because I made a decision to move to another pump because your app was not allowing me to gas up at that very pump? Sure, my innocense can be proven once they figure out a way to review the surveillance footage, but what about my time and disturbance? How are they going to compensate me for that? Esso, as a corporation, how can you ensure something like this doesnt happen again?
unprofessional staff services - hwy 27 and queens plate drive

On July 10, around 3:00pm, my mom and I went to the Mobil gas station located on Queens Plate and Hwy 27. My mom had pre-paid at the pump, started fueling up and suddenly, the pump stopped working. She was continuously pressing the gas type she wanted hoping the pump would begin working again. Then she went in to speak to the person working at the counter and he said to "continue pressing the gas type". Seeing that my mom was having no luck, I got out and attempted to help her. I also had no success pumping the gas so I went into the store to ask the worker if there was anything he could do. However, he and another customer were in the store laughing at the trouble my mom and I were having. He said there was nothing he could do and when I asked if we could drive to another pump, he said we could. We drove over to another pump and started fueling up there successfully. Then worker then came outside and started accusing my mom and I of throwing down the gas handle that had been dropped by other customer. We tried to explain to the worker that we were never using the pump that the gas handle was attached to it. He continued to accuse us and finally accepted that we had not used that specific pump. After my mom and I had finished gassing up her car, I went inside to confirm that my mom's debit card had not been charged twice and the worker looked at me for a few minutes without saying anything and then simply said "no". My mom and I completely understand that technology fails and events like this will happen. However, we also feel that the staff that are trained to troubleshoot defective material should have sufficient interpersonal skills to be able to native the customer accordingly. We have been using this gas station for a very long time with relatively positive experiences. I hope this situation was a one time experience.
esso / non-delivery of product paid for
Dear Sir/ Madame,
On Sunday, July 8th, in a self-serve unattended Esso gas station on the Via Briantea 19, 24030 Ambivere (Italy) I deposited a 50 Euro bill to purchase diesel. However I selected pump #3 (gasoline) erroneously instead of #4 (diesel).I was told by another customer that the pump would only work for a very short time after the money was deposited. As a result, I received nothing for my 50 Euros and then had to deposit more money to get any gas.
Please check for the discrepancy between the funds deposited and the gas deliver and please tell me what you need to refund my lost money . I have to mention that I'm not leaving in Italy and I can't go in the gas station again, but I have an Eur account open in UniCredit Bank.

I have just drove to the petrol station at 20.45 as my car was showing my tyres were low. I tried to use the air machine and it sounded like it was letting more air out then in, but the machine sounded like it was working it then stop so I told the cashier that I didn't think it was working for him to repeatedly say ‘what am I suppose to do'. He then repeated ‘come back tomorrow and see my manager'. He did not offer help or try to assist me at all.
I will not be returning to this petrol station as I did not get any help when I was feeling anxious and stressed

On Sunday, July 1, in a self-serve unattended Esso gas station on the SS106/E90 in Reggio di Calabria S in Italy near Contrada Livari Inferiore and a Supermarket Gross 106, I deposited a 50 Euro bill to purchase gasoline. However I selected pump #3 erroneously and it took about 1 minute (or less) to move my car to the correct pump. The pump did not deliver any gas, however, and I was told (in Italian) by another customer that the pump would only work for a very short time after the money was deposited. Can you please explain to me why such a problem occurred and whether, after checking for a discrepancy between the funds deposited and the gas deliver, ed you are prepared to refund my lost money.

As tourists we were passing through one of your gas station Centers in Matheson Ontario, with the assumption that we were going to use your washroom while our friend bought the gas .. As you were very busy because of the long wknd there was a waiting line, so my girlfriend and I ran in to the store to ask to use the washroom facilities..First thing the kid at the front desk asked was " are you a customer" ? I said why, he stated, if you're not a customer, you cannot use the facilities!
At this point I was totally shocked 😳
I said to him, so you mean to tell me that if I wasn't purchasing anything you would refuse me to use the washroom ? He stated, that's correct ..
I cannot believe in this day and age that this still takes place, absolutely ridiculous!
And also the simple fact that you allow your employees, ( rude employees I might add )
to treat your loyal customers this way !
Come on, denying someone to use the washroom! How I humane! Is that really where the bottom line lyes in making a profit?

Neglected to mention that we were totally put off and left, driving to one of your competitors down the street, where we spent $90 in gas .
They were more than happy to allow us to use the facilities, without being interrogated first if we were buying anything!

I find it beyond ridiculous that I went to a self serve gas station (Hurontario and Central pkwy Mississauga Ontario Canada) just to see the gas attendant wearing LONG SLEEVE SHIRT AND BLACK PANTS IN 40 HUMIDITY WEATHER! How dare anyone treat their employees! I would love to see the manager or owner able to survive that! I would love to see a change I their uniform for the summer. Perhaps a golf shirt and shorts! This change also needs to be effective immediately. God forbid he or she passes out from a heat stroke.

Last night 29.06.2018. at 21:59 local time I was at Esso Catania Italy petrol station and used visa debit card. When I inserted card in terminal, after inserting the card pin, terminal automaticaly authorized my card on 100, 00eur whitout option to insert amount by myself and pushed card out. I collected card and start to filling the disel in the car and after filling to the full tank, terminal print me bill on the 36eur. Problem is that my bank send me transaction on 101, 00eur finilized. I'm very unhappy about this. Printed bill left to the rent a car agency and I saw bank swift today when I come home.

Hi. I filled up gas in my car today at Esso Dufferin and Major MacKenzie and went in to pay as speed pass was not working at the pump # 2.
The cashier I believe his name was Nathan. I paid with my speed key. After the payment I told The cashier that he didn't ask me if I wanted to get a car wash and as a rule he should give a FREE car wash.
He argued that I was trying to get car wash without paying. I said I haven't left and asking because of his mistake and very rudely refused to honour
I am a regular Esso customer for many years and because of the cashier's treatment I am considering using other dealers.

Esso/Circle K car wash @ Taunton & Harmony I go to this one every time unless out of town.. I went threw the car wash & the arm that goes around to spread the soap & Water hit the back left corner of my truck it put a deep scratch in the paint (down to metal) on the bumper @ gouged the plastic as well.. I went into the store talked to the manager he came out looked @ it and said "what would you like me to do about it? I can give you another car wash if you like..." I just about passed out.. my truck is 7 month old brand new and that's what he offered... Anyways I replied "no I would like it repaired plz" I then went to the dealership got a quote to have it fixed and returned to the Esso/Circle K.. I am waiting t hear back as to what is going to be done about it.. At the end of the day I want whats fair and that's to have it fixed.

unable to redeem car wash using esso extra rewards
I wasn't able to redeem a car wash using my Esso extra rewards at the Esso gas station on 16th Ave NW, Calgary, AB due to system error. Store manager was not able to do anything and did nothing further to resolve the issue. I had the same exact experience where two different Esso locations in Calgary had the same system error. I am upset due to the time and gas spent trying to redeem a simple car wash
very bad customer service at petrol station
I am appalled and shocked by the customer service just received at the petrol station in Cambridge Street, Saint Neots, Cambridgeshire today at approximately 3 p.m.
After filling my van with diesel, when I went to pay I realised that I had left my payment card at home. I said that I would go straight home and return straightaway to pay. I also asked him if he could take my details and registration number and he refused.The cashier started shouting and swearing in front of everyone that I was a thief and to leave the van there. He was going to call the police! He told me to walk home and get the card, however I live in a village 3.5 miles away. He said he is not my friend, it is a business and didn't care how I got the money! I then drove home and went straight back to pay which took about half an hour and made the payment at 15:37. When making the payment he started shouting and swearing using the' f ' word frequently to get the f...ing hell out. Calling me a thief again and threw the receipt in my face! He told me not to go back there again and all this in front of other customers.
I have never been treated so badly and it was disgusting behaviour. I will not return there ever again for petrol. If you have cctv you will be able to witness this for yourself. I am very angry at the way I was treated and I wanted to bring this to your attention because he may behave like this with other customers. As far I am concerned someone like this should not be employed in a customer service environment. I will also make it well known to others about the terrible and abusive service I received so that they do not encounter this themselves.

I am writing this email to complain an issue that I countered.
This morning, I was in ESSO gas station (3615 Calgary Trail, NW, Edmonton) to use the vacuum. I mis-inserted 3 dollars so the machine did not work. I went to the employee who is named as Cim (maybe I spell wrong). She is very tough and offended to me. She said I supposed to give 2.5 $ not 3$. I said ok and asked her to refund the 3 $ back. She said she can not do it. I asked for the manager, she said we don't have a manager here. I said how come you do not have a manager. She said he is not here, maybe he will be there tomorrow. And then another employee came to me that the manager may be here at 12:30 pm and I can come by at that time. So I went home and back again. When I go again, the manager was not here and I asked Cim can she call the manager. She said we already called him twice. I said could try call one more time. She said she can not call the manager three times a day!
I am so angry about this lady. She is so rude to me. She is the employee that should help customer out.

The attendant at this location who appears to be one of the regular employees is very rude and always gives me an attitude problem for no reason at all. I have not provoked this man in any way and don't understand what his problem is.
A while ago I was at this location and I had just finished working a 14 hour shift and was incredibly exhausted. When I had went to check-out and pay for my gas, I had forgotten which pump my car was at as well as the price. I was looking outside to get a view of which pump # to reference, not a big deal.
Anyways, when I figured out which pump it was, he took the opportunity to make a sarcastic remark while laughing at me which was not appreciated. I can take a joke, but this was a deliberate jab intended to annoy. All other interactions with him have been met with an attitude on his end for reasons unknown to me. I purposely avoid this location now because of this individual.
I went there again yesterday as I was running low on gas just to end up encountering the same nonsense again. Unbelievable; and from a man who looks like he's in his late 50's or early 60's.
I usually don't go out of my way to make submit complaints, but I've had enough of this guy's attitude. Completely unnecessary and totally unprovoked. I didn't even make an effort to be cheerful towards him this time since I knew it was completely wasted on him. I wasn't rude, but maintained a normal demeanor, and that was it. I understand people in positions like this are unhappy in their work; believe me, I've been there, but don't take your problems or anger out on customers who have done nothing to you in any way, ESPECIALLY to polite customers who make an effort to make your job as painless as possible.
Like I said, I don't go out of my way to complain since I don't want to put anyone's livelihood at risk, but this guy makes it clear that he does not want to be there. I'll usually give someone the benefit of the doubt in case someone is having a bad day or something, we're all human, but when it's consistent and blatant like this, you can bet that I'm going to say something about it after a while.
Summary: Terrible customer service. Very rude behavior from clerk.

And I have to keep asking for shifts and I get the same answer that he didnt make thr scedule yet. Telling me there are otjer people who took the shifts there are no shifts for me. Also I was trasnfered there from another 7-11 with I came from having 4 shifts a week now I barrly have one. I think there is something not right about this, and I feel like its a racist thing..

I went to the Esso station in St. Albert today- on the trail heading into downtown. The woman behind the til said she is the manager. Pity - because she was very rude and miserable. My son was at the pump waiting to pump fuel and I went in tollok after the bill. However, even not knowing how much the tank would take she insisted that I pay first. I had $100 in my hand but she would not turn on the pump until I paid. but paid for what? We didn't have anything yet. She couldn't put anything on the register until the pump is off and the tank is full.
I may have been a but rude to her - because that's how I deal with [censored] and people who are rude to me. My apologies. When I asked her to let us fill the tank before I passed my money she said told me in no uncertain terms that I could go elsewhere if I don't like it. rude and when I asked for a manager she said she was the manager.Big mistake on Esso's part if you ask me.
What she was really saying was 'I see your money and I see you but I do not trust you to pay me so do it now or hit the road. That's what I did and I will NEVER to that station again.

I was a regular customer for Esso and I consume around $250 per month in average
On Sunday May 13th at 8:45pm I went to Esso station at the Upper Middle & Third Line in Oakville, I paid at the pump & filled up my tank then pressed the button for the option to print a receipt but that receipt never came out.
I walked to the store and asked the attendant to print one for my pump and notified him very friendly that the paper role need to be changed on that pump when he suddenly got very aggressive and took it personally as if I am accusing him, he said the pump has paper you didn't press the button to print, I just asked him if he knew better what I did and then he came out from behind the counter bringing his key to prove what he said and insisted that I didn't press the button. while walking to the pump he looked at me and said "if you wanna fight I will fight" then I didn't like that and said what customer service is this? he looked at me and said don't stare at me..
At this point I couldn't go further I went straight to my car and family who are waiting by that time he was at the pump yelling that he is right and the pump has papers.
I thinks Esso should conduct some training programs for those new comers who work in their stations on customers service & how to deal with different situations resolve issues.
Unfortunately though this is the closest gas station to my house I don't think I will go there again unless I don't have a choice.

prepaid visa not working and i’m accused of switching cards
Bought $150 prepaid visa. It didn't work. Brought back receipt card and activation to this station. Owner checks and starts yelling that I think his people are stupid. I'm a dirty man who switched the card and am trying to rip him off
Also he threw out the card and my re opts so I'm out $157.35 with little resolution
I'll never use this service or his station again

Yesterday I was at Esso, and paid to fill my tires. Unfortunately the machine did not work and I went inside to talk to an Esso representative about this. As I mentioned the situation to the attendant, he said it was not his problem and that I could call a number to complain. In my opinion, this is not good customer service and there was no respect of the situation. As a loyal customer of Esso, I expect good customer service regardless if it is the attendants problem or not. No refund was provided, and no resolution to the issue was resolved. I left as a disappointed customer and expect a lot more from a customer service stand point from the staff members.

I got charged twice $50+$50.02 on ESSO station at Finch and Dufferin, Toronto, Ontario around 9pm.
Your employee didn't give my money back and said it supposed to be someday because it's credit card. I checked online banking right away and I see only double charge.
I don't really care how it works because it's not my issue. All I want is to get MY money back NOW not in few days or weeks I don't wanna check it every day. I asked him to give me cash as reverse of one transaction but he refused. So once again if tomorrow afternoon I woun't see reverse transaction I will never go again to ESSO. I am not looking for sorry or something just GIVE MY MONEY BACK. You guys know well how to charge but not how to fix YOUR ISSUES.
I visited Esso Gas Station at Bovaird & McLaughlin ; Station # [protected] ; At 22.45 Hours, on July-13, 2018, for Car Wash ; Cashier Harry was very cooperative and issued Car-Wash code. I always enjoy car wash at Esso. I would like to draw an attention of Manager that, there is No proper Lightings in Car Wash. Also needs brown paper towel & wind shield washer fluid in squeeze tubs.
