Esso Flamstead filling station customer service.

I have repeatedly called this filling station over a number of days (on many occasions, not just this incident I am reporting) and varying times to find out if they had LPG available and the calls were disconnected every time after a few rings without answer. I eventually drove to the garage to check if they had LPG (no notice on the pump stating out of service but wanted to be sure) and the young lady that answered me (afternoon of Friday 19th May 2023) told me that they NEVER run out and why was I asking! I told her that we have to take our motorhome out of store in Hemel Hempstead and drive it here (we are locals that live in Redbourn) and did not want to arrive and find the LPG was out of service. I would like to add at this point that her manner was downright rude and I found myself very unhappy leaving the premises. I drove home to tell my husband that they did have LPG and that I was told, in no uncertain terms, that they NEVER run out. He returned to the filling station within 30 minutes to find an “out of service” sign on the LPG. He went into the service station to question this and explain that I had been in within the last 30 minutes to check the status of LPG which “never ran out” and was told that there was LPG but not a great deal and they did not want somebody running out mid pump but that they would allow him to fill up. This is absolutely disgraceful and incredibly stressful for us because (a) we cannot rely on our local filling station, (b) we were told a blatant untruth in a rude manner “we never run out” (c) it takes time and money to transport our motorhome there to fuel it. (d) customer service at this filling station is downright appalling.

We have a large motorhome and would like to feel we can rely on our local filling station. At the moment we cannot and are faced with rude, unpleasant, unprofessional staff and will therefore drive as far as Watford to avoid it. Shameful.

I hope this email finds you in good health. I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning incident that took place at one of your esteemed gas stations on May 11. As a dedicated customer who greatly values the relationship I have established with your company, I believe it is of utmost importance to address this matter, as it raises concerns about potential racial discrimination and the necessity to educate managers on inclusive practices.

First and foremost, I want to express my appreciation for the positive experiences I have had whenever I visit ESSO. As a loyal customer, I have built a strong relationship with your company, not only by consistently purchasing a significant amount of gas, amounting to at least $900 per month, but also by relying on your store for the Island Farms Ice Cream brand, which I greatly enjoy. Furthermore, as a member of your Optimum card loyalty program, I look forward to continuing to earn points and benefit from its rewards.

However, it is with regret that I must bring an incident to your attention that has marred the otherwise pleasant experiences I have had. On May 11, during my routine visit to one of your gas stations, I was dismayed to discover that I was denied access to hot water for making tea or coffee to accompany my instant coffee. This denial of service was due to the discriminatory actions of a manager of East Indian descent, who disapproved of an employee providing me with hot water. This incident has deeply troubled me and compelled me to bring this matter to your attention.

It is crucial for individuals from diverse backgrounds to understand and respect the laws and values of the countries they operate in, such as Canada and the United States. Importing discriminatory practices from their home countries undermines the principles of equality and inclusivity that are fundamental to our society.

Therefore, I write this email not only to inform you of this incident but also to emphasize the urgent need to educate managers about human rights, foster inclusivity, and swiftly address any discriminatory behaviors within your organization. It is our collective responsibility to strive towards eliminating racial discrimination, promoting equality, and cultivating a society that embraces diversity.

Esso Thief

I had paid for $20 but my gas gage didn't move I was ripped off $20 from an Esso store on May 4th 2023 at 930pm at Prince Albert the address of this crime was at 29th street east and 15th Avenue east two east Indian girls were working there at that time.

Esso Safety and bio hazard

Hello my name is Kevin Barr,

I was at the ESSO station at the corner of 197 and 32 in Surrey on Friday the 14th between the hours of 8am and 9 am. I was filling 2 jerry cans and my truck with diesel. As I only wanted 20 liters in the can I was watching the liter reader carefully. The pump read 20 liters and it kept pumping. I was able to shut it off without a problem. It appears that the sensor on the nozzle was malfunctioning as it did not shut itself off. This is both a safety issue and a biohazard issue. If I had decided to walk into Timmy's( I would not do that but someone might) for a coffee (attached to station) while filling my truck it would have overflowed and continued to overflow until I returned. I reported it to the workers inside and they were very kind and seemed to take it seriously however I felt the need to bring it to a higher authority to ensure action.

Esso Service provided to me in an esso location

I bought prepaid master card on april/1st/2023 and the card didnot work when I went to use it, I know its final sale, but I went to the gas station so I can ask employee to check it and tell me what is the problem, I never asked for a refund, this was on april /08/2023 and I asked the cashier to check and let me know the problem, he refused and I asked about the manager or the owner of the station, the cashier refused to give me the manager or the owner name or contact number, even refused to give me his name, then he used his cell phone and make a phone call in unofficial language as far as I know the official languages in Canada is french and or English, and then he turned to me and told me the owner will come after 30 minutes and if I want to wait for him, I told him that I have no time to wait and offered to leave the card with him to solve the problem, but he refused, and in a very rude way asked me to leave as there is a line behind me, I asked him three times about name of manager or owner or even his name and he refused, I put fuel into my car and paid by a card and he gave me a receipt that have the time and transaction number on it and cashier was the manager which he did not want to let me know that

my point is a cashier that failed to solve my problem, second he used unofficial Canadian language that I do not know which was not French or English which made me so offended as a Canadian citizen and I felt sorry that I did not understand the language he used and in Canada but I was ignored and been in a situation that someone may be insulting me when he spoke with the owner in a language that I do not understand and a language that is not official to be used in Canada, I did not get my wrights as my problem was not solved and been treated unwisely as a customer, I have the receipt that include time of incident

Esso Esso company

My name is Gourav. I worked over there. My manager has not paid my salary for 61 hours. When I ask for my salary, he tells me that the ESSO company does not have money right now. He will pay me when he gets the money. I have been listening to this for 4 months. Now, he told me that he would cut my salary because of the lock keys. There was a thief who took the door keys, and I reported it to the police, but he told me that he was not going to pay for lock invoices. Right now, I am not asking for my salary from my manager. I am asking for my salary from only the company. If the company wants to pay my salary, that is fine, but I will not ask for my salary from my manager anymore because I worked for the company.

I really want to be honest with you. It frustrated me a lot for 4 months. You can imagine how you would feel if you worked for someone who did not pay your salary.

Desired outcome: Please give me my salary if the company has money to pay. I have a problem. I do not work for anyone without money because I give my life hours to something for growing and getting a good career in life.Thank you very much

Esso Harassment and racial profiling

Good morning, I am very sad to report an incident that occurred involving myself and one of your young attendants at the 829 Lakeshore Blvd East location in Toronto. I had went in on today April 2, 2023 at around 7:30am and an employee by the name of Yase I believe his name was, had giving me a hard time about my car wash ticket. I went in and purchased my regular coffee and timbits, i then went to the ESSO counter to ask him if he could kindly reprint a unused ticket that i had spilled coffee on. The ticket was kind of stuck together so upon trying to pry it apart carefully unfortunately the fold with the code tore and both sides were stuck to together. I tried my best to read and write down the code and make sense of what i could see but was unsure so thats why i asked for the reprint. The attendee tried to reprint the ticket but couldn't do it in the system. I told him thank you and went to the car wash drive through. I entered the code and it worked in one attempt so sat there waiting for the door to open, when it didn't open i paged help and told him the door isnt opening. He asked me to “come inside”, now im upset because why do i have to do that? Im already at the car wash door. I had to walk back inside and leave my car at the entrance blocking everyone. He then asked to open my bank transactions and prove to him that I purchased the ticket. If the code works why do i have to then prove to him i purchased the ticket? Also the ticket was purchased awhile ago but had 2months left before expiration, so how does he expect me to find that transaction. I spilled coffee of the ticket on March 3, 2023 and jotted down what i could make of it in my notepad which is dated with no way to manipulate that. After an embarrassing argument that went on for a little over 5m i showed him the note and he disabled the lock he had put on the car wash. Racial profiling is a key occurrence with these young Indian students, they assume your up to something when your just trying to get through the day. This also happened another time when the car wash at another Esso location shut down after I purchased my ticket. The attendee told me he wont refund my Premium Wash and i need to come back another day. I went back 3 times and the car wash still wasn't repaired. I had to speak with the manager at that location and he apologized for the attendant’s behaviour. Im sick of this, they act like they own the place and im about to switch gas stations. THIS IS HARASSMENT AND RACIAL PROFILING AND IT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED IM SORRY

Desired outcome: Relocate him or fire him. Its not right to behave this way and worst he has been acting like he owns the franchise. One day someone will seek violence as retribution if continues to profile others.

Esso Disgusting, dirty, stinking, unacceptable washroom

I came to the gas station at locust street and lakeshore in Burlington ontario. The washroom is absolutely disgusting and filthy, I could not breathe because the smell of urine was so bad it made me almost vomit. I could not breathe! Myself and my child could not use the bathroom because there is using all over the washroom and toilet seat. I have never experienced something so disgusting in my life! This is completely Unacceptable for such a well know chain like Esso. Beyond disappointed. I will never get gas at this location again.

Esso Brushless car wash

I went through your car wash at about 3:15 on march 17th, looking forward to a clean shiny car. I was shocked when I saw splotches of the 3 colours from the soap or whatever it is that you use to polish it with on my side of the vehicle, the side window at the driver's side and over the door on the back left passenger side. Dust was on the side of the vehicle on the driver side! I could run my finger through the dust! I was the sun is too bright to show in a photo

Desired outcome: I would like to have a refund of the $13 plus ... Thank you for tending to this matter. I would try it one more time with an attendant present! Thank you

Esso Pump info in French only, unable to understand

Mar 3 2023 13.31 purchased $30 in gas, bill shows car wash $17.99 + tax for addtl $20.33, which I did not purchase. Being that the pump was only in french and not able to change to english I tried my best to read prompts on screen. The pump shut off after gas purchase of $30 so assumed payment was ok. I have a receipt which is in french and only half of the bill has legible printing so it's hard to read. I only noticed this when I was checking online banking on Mar 11 2023. I went to the station and of course was told by the attendant he could do nothing. This not the first time this station has had their pumps in french only. What is the reason for this? I did not purchase a car wash, but because the screen was only in french I could have hit the wrong button. The only reason I go to this particular Esso is because I have a Optimum card. I would like a refund for the error on my bill $20.33. I'm a retired person and would not spend that amount of money for a car wash, I live in a house and can wash my car anytime. I will not be going to Esso station again. I have a receipt but don't know how to get it into the computer.

Desired outcome: I would like a refund for the amount of the car wash $17.99 + tax $2.34 = $20.33. These numbers are on my receipt. [protected]-653448-[protected]-R104855408 from top to bottom. I don't know what they mean.

Esso Esso gas bar employee

Horrible customer service at Esso gas bar at Angelo's truck stop 416 at 401. Employee had feet up on counter , on cell phone , not even paying attention to customers. Asked to get my points as I could not get them at pump . Was told not my problem what do u want me to do about it by young man and he just went back on his cell phone and ignored me. The absolute worst customer service I have ever had...8pm on March 4 2023.

Esso Fuel and banana

Complaint about the staff misbehavior of Ms. Sonia

I am a taxi driver who visit regularly this fuel station so on 01/02/2023 at 2018pm, I visited Rontec Hamilton Esso fuel station, 301 THURMASTON LANE, LEICESTER LE4 9UX to fill fuel and went to pay for fuel so on my way I pick up a bunch of bananas which say 99 pence so I was not sure becouse it not say the product name whether that price correct so I asked sales point staff Ms. Sonia what is the price, she said whatever says on tag that is the price, again I asked “please can you scan and tell me the price then she said why you come to England without English? don’t you understand? and laughed then I said I read the price mentioned as 99 pence so I thought maybe wrong. She said we did not come from Pakistan, I am an Indian what we say always right, and laugh like a hint so I did say anything then I pay and turned so next staff came and asked what's the issue then she said that paki people come to England without English, rubbish [censored]ing…… then I turn and I told her don’t talk to a customer like this if you talk to anyone who doesn't come again so your company lose the customer if they loose how they going to pay you so always treat customer good way and customer is always king of any organization and I went but its always click my mind to report regarding this issue because top management should know about her and such a way she talks not good, I felt embracement.

Further, I search about her and found that she has a policy and member of the India Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) party, which they don’t like Muslims. If you read the following news you will understand about her party (BJP) in India.

Please take some disciplinary action and remove her from employment (sack her) due to using a words of discrimination and treating customers badly discriminated because of Muslim, if I see her after 10 days I will take this to the court that she prosecution used a word PAKI which is against racism. I am not threatening you but telling you don’t keep this mentality of staff in such an important job who always see customers and more than 70% of customers come from the Muslim community. Further |I will put this on all Muslim mosques and public watsup groups and Facebook so better for you to remove her from employment. Evidence you can check the CCTV camera and I attached the receipt for your reference, further please don’t show my details anything to her because of my privacy and I don’t know what kind of action she will do and further last within one year several incidents happened in Leicester firing house and attack Muslims all her friends done.

Esso Car wash

I purchased a car wash at 6701 Langstaff Rd, Vaughan, ON. I paid like $20 for it. The car wash sprayed the soap and rinsed it one time. That was it. The car was still just as dirty. The windows and the windshield was not clean at all. The person at the store said there was nothing he could do. How do you charge that amount of money and not provide the proper service. My car was not even overly dirty. I wanted the windows and windshield to be clean but after the car wash they were still just as dirty as before the car wash. I went to a petro car wash and spent money again to wash the car. Your car wash was a complete waste to money and time

Esso Watered down fuel

On Thursday Jan 12th at approx. 3:00 p. m I filled up with gas at the Esso station located at 1812 Scugog Street, Port Perry, Ontario.
At $145 per liter, my fill up totaled $129 which is an amount I have never seen before at this price. My 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee has an 87 liter tank capacity. I was not on empty, I had just under a quarter tank left. When I do the math, something is wrong.

Additionally, my vehicle's fuel economy all of a sudden worsened to levels never seen before. I question the quality of the gas and suspect the owners are watering down their gas.
I always fill up at Esso stations because I like the Optimum points but this experience is the worse I've ever seen before. It is extremely suspicious and probably explains why this gas station is empty relative to the busy location.

Desired outcome: This should be investigated.

Esso Convenience store location

The Esso located in Coalhurst AB is a busy location, as it’s right off the highway and they are constantly refusing customers use of the bathroom. More often then not they have an out of order sign on it but they just are too lazy to clean the bathroom. I work at the liquor store next door to the store and today I’ve had 8 different people come in asking to use my bathroom. Is there not something that can be done? Should they not be required to allow use of their bathroom as it’s a travel spot? Last week I had to clean up human feces outside my door as there bathroom was “out of order”.

Esso Service

This is the third outrageous complaint I have filed on the employee that totally blew my mind with the totally uncalled for aggressive actions that were produced by this unstable man tonight. I cannot believe this man is still employed at this establishment but after tonight I can say with 100% certainty that I and the other 14 people I know that have had similar treatment from this employee are boycotting esso gas stations from this day forward. The incident took place at around 2:45am at the esso gas station in sault ste marie ON, Canada on the corner of. The owner of this franchise should review the video footage from this time frame and ask himself is this how Esso customers should be treated. My friend and I entered the store, we were both buying several items and my friend brought his stuff up to the cash register first and then I proceeded shortly behind him, the items my friend was buying were put into the hole in the covid protection plastic shield so I placed my items on the counter about 4 or 5 inches to the right of his so I could wait for him to cash out my friend and also one of my items was ice cream and was cold to hold. The next thing I knew I had the cashier standing next to me looking very upset and he started to aggressively grab my items roughly and slam them on top of my friend's stuff while mumbling in another language cause he had forgot a drink and just ran back to grab it, so we both questioned him on what he doing and I also commented that the aggressive way he approached me and roughly grabbed my items and put them on top of my friend's for some reason and my friend didn't see him do it so he starts telling me why did you put your stuff on mine I'm not paying for yours. So I told him what the cashier did and stood there and crossed my hands infront of me and reminded the cashier that his actions were all on camera which seemed to anger him even more to the point where he refused to serve me, kicked me out of the store and said I was banned from a store I've been going to twice a day usually for several years. I don't know why he chooses to treat me in that way and after work I'm planning on going there to speak to the manager to let him know he has lost a long time customer and the profit from my Yard Maintenance and Snow Removal company.

Esso Unavailability of receipts at pumps!

I recently purchased fuel at your Hawkesbury location.

Every time I fuel up there it is impossible to get a receipt at the pump. One must go inside the store to get a receipt. The owners purposely do this to make you go into the store with the hope that you will purchase something. All this does is annoys your customers and leave a bad taste in your mouth. This is not the first time this happens, so I fuel up across the street at McEwen's even though they do not have a loyalty program. After fueling I hung around for a few minutes and watched a steady stream of annoyed customers go in to get their receipt! This is flagrant attempt to drum up business which is having the opposite effect.

Desired outcome: Tell the owners to cease this customer abuse! It is cold enough in the winter just fueling up. We do not care to trudge across the parking lot just to get a receipt! Go for yourselves and find out!

Esso Night staff

I came to the tim hortons inside to get a coffee and bagle. Everything was good peaceful until the 2 employees working behind the gas station till deciede to crank up their hindu music. I find it rude enough that they sit there yamping in their language and not queitly might I ad. I do believe it was the 3rd customer to ask them to turn it off. I think that is pretty bad!
