I just left family dollar, ColemanWI after buying my great nephew LEGO gift. It was buy one get one 40 percent off. They didn't give me discount so I asked and they went saw sign took it down then proceeded to say they would have to credit one back and give discount... needless to say the girl checking me out was nice but kept claiming she didn't know or understand math. The other one was a snippy little witch who tried to tell me she figured it out that 1/4 of a dollar is 25 cents and so it would only be $2.50. 👀🤔🙄 I kept insisting it would be $4 and had to keep waiting for them to check other people out because now I was upset enough to see it through on principle. How the heck do you work in a store let alone be a ?manager or lead and not know how to figure out percentage? It's not rocket science or brain surgery. I finally showed the nice one on my phone on the Internet as well as said, What's 50% of $10? She said, "Umm, $5?" I said, "Yes! It is! 😃 And 40% is $4, so it is math. Very logical. Doesn't change it is always exactly the same when done correctly."
Needless to say, the whole thing took like over a half hour and tested me to my absolute limits cause the one was condescending and rude and totally didn't know MATH! I won't be back. Though convenient I can go elsewhere and be treated with respect and kindness especially when I've been overcharged and hopefully the person I'm dealing with understands basic math! I was so upset after they kept repeating the transaction and finally just gave me change which when I got home looked at and realized it's more $5.52 than the $4 + tax I should have got but I can't even deal with such frustration and rudeness to go back and in actuality is probably less compensation for my time and her treatment than I deserve anyway.
