My mother and i booking #s (4KWVHE/2VPS2X) recently travelled with Fiji airways, and the way we were treated the whole flight to Fiji and back was just
Shocking , we were treated so bad not only by the check in at YVR, but on the way back from Nadi to San SAN FRANSICO
First, we arrive at YVR on may 20 2024 we go to the counter to check in, the lady behind the desk told us that we had to pay 300 dollars each for each of our checked in bags, i told the lady that this was included with our bookings, we provided the email confirmation. She demanded that it was not, she was rude rolled her eyes at us, after the ordeal she finally let us check in the bags, not only for my mom and i , but the other 4 family members we were with,
When we were on the plane, the air hostesses did not even come around and ask if we were ok, or if we wanted water, my mother and i were up all night and watched everything that was happening. We noticed everyone got breakfast, and we did not, we again were not asleep the thought of us being ignored was just shocking. 20 minutes before the flight landed i asked one of the hostess if we were still going to get breakfast since we were missed, she responded back ' the plane is going to land soon' i said that it didn't matter we did not get any food, any water , we both are diabetics and are on medication, she gave attitude and then gave us the meal,
Now, on the way back from NADI to SAN FRANSICO on June 6 2024 FLIGHT 870
We arrived to the airport, got checked in, everything was ok. Close to the time we were about to board the plane, the flight was delayed, again we were ok with it.
We departed to SAN FRANSICO arrived late, only to miss our connecting flight to YVR, the lady at the desk said that west jet closed the desks, and the plane has already begun boarding, and there was nothing that can be done from them, and to contact Fiji Airways. She had called for someone to come to us, we waited for over an hour and no one came
I called Fiji Airways and kept getting put on hold, for more then 60 mins at at time, i no am getting upset on why i'm on hold and no one answering, the one time an agent answered and ended up hanging up on me, and no one called me back, i called again, a man answered said that there is nothing we can do, and our flight has been changed to June 7! I asked why the flight has been changed since we did not authorize that, we were supposed to be home on June 6, their response was since flight was delayed they changed our flight, and they did even email/call us to tell us, i advised this was not acceptable, as my mother and i both had work on Friday and needed to be home.
My other family members were able to call Fiji airways and get flights rebooked, but for my mother and i no one seemed to help .
I kept calling back to get someone to help me get home, as this was not my fault, the agent told me she called Fiji airways desk at San Francisco, and they will come meet me outside the west jet gate that i was waiting / talking to the rep on the phone at that time, the man came up to me and said there was no seats available and that there was nothing they can do, i asked why are you saying that when you did not even take a look to see if there is any seats available? He said in a rude way , 'well there is no seats so i cant do anything. I said sure there is , you are not even trying, he replied ' well do you want to sit on the wing of the plane? i got so mad i asked why he's talking to me like this, when i'm already crying, i asked to talk to a manger he said he was the manager, i asked if i can talk to someone else, he said no, NOONE WILL HELP YOU AND TURNED HIS BACK, ROLLED HIS EYES AND WALKED AWAY, i asked this is the way you treat your passengers? He ignored me and continued to walk away.
Now i'm more upset and angry , called Fiji airways back and again got told nothing can be done, sorry.
No one was willing to help, nor were offered any accommodation, or any other choice, since we needed to be back to Vancouver on June 6, i ended up paying for flight home, and it was with AIR CANADA, THE SAME AIRLINE MY OTHER FAMILY MEMBERES WERE PUT ON. (AC 573)
How can the agents say there were no seats available? When there was , and did not care enough to check for us.
The way my mother and i were treated , i promise myself and my mother promised, we will never ever fly with Fiji airways ever again, the staff and the service we got was just heart breaking.
I am requesting the flights to reimbursed since the service was crap, in every way, then we had to pay ourself to come back from sfo, and not even take the flight back from west jet,
