Money stuck
I had got a project on freelancer.com for around 14k inr . I completed the first milestone. The employer released the amount of first milestone but I didn't get the money in my dashboard.
They asked to first clear all the verifications in my account to receive the money . I did that and now they said that q4k of the employer are now stuck as the verifications need to be done prior to milestone release.
Only option that was left with the employer was to create another milestone for 14k and release the whole 28k into my account. But the employer did not have that much amount . They first asked me to pay the whole amount but I could not.
After so much discussion, I was so manipulated that the employer said you arrange around 6k and we will pay the rest 8k .
I agreed. I , mad person, paid 6k assuming I would get my hard earned money back and the amount also for which I've worked.
But now!
Another issue to make my fool . They said your account is not accepting foreign transfers . I cross checked byt my bank account was absolutely fine with all the options enabled .
I asked what should be done next and they said another milestone of 28k need to made to release this. The employer again started asking me to arrange the money but now I was getting to know that something was fishy . Now my 6k are stuck with that platform and that emlloyer won't also return my money.
All in this case I was getting messages from a local gmail account -

Fleelancer account closed, stole my money

I just wanted to tell you my brief story so that other people know about these scammers. They suspended my account having 40,000 INR in milestone payments. The reason they did this was that I violated the terms, where as i have not done any such act. He also had a Freelancer.com account but they did not suspend his account because he had no money in it !
The freelancer is blocking my id with some violation issues I want to know where is the amount of my id I have messaged the freelancer a lot but a link is coming from his side which is not working please let me know where is my amount.
They are probably interested in stealing your money because that mistake I was talking about happened almost 6 months before my account got closed.
I hope I can get the money back so I can stay away from them in the future..

Account limitation because I use my mother’s paypal account
I have been in Freelancer.com last month May, I started my freelancing career and I got my first client in this platform too.
For the 2nd time, I withdraw my earnings and I decided to use Paypal since this is the most convenient.
When I chose my own paypal account, it says that I need “VERIFIED PAYPAL” to withdraw. So, I research on how to make my own paypal account verified. I tried, but nothing change it’s still not paypal verified.
So this leave me no choice but to USE my MOTHER’S paypal account, (take note that I verify this paypal account of my mother to freelancer.com as payment method).
After days of waiting of processing my withdrawal request, I received an email saying that my account has been limited and need to verify my identity and state reason why does my payment method is not the same name as mine.
I understood them since it is just to protect their business from money laundering, and I apologize for it and will take lesson from it. But I did not know that using my mother’s paypal’s account will cause my account for limitation, I have no worries at first since it is my MOTHER’s.
Freelancer.com should let their customer or remind them with this the next time to avoid anymore inconveniece.
I followed their provided steps to verify my identity. I provide my passport & their given code. I stated my reason why and there’s nothing to worry since it was my MOTHER’s paypal account.
I am expecting that they will review my submission for an hour only since the last time I verify my identity, it only took them for only an HOUR.
After thorough research about this freelancer.com scam/strategy, I am getting anxious and afraid those will happen to me also.

Account closed without a specific reason
My Freelancer Account with Username: Humblekish was suspended/closed without a Specific Reason.
I can sense a fishy game being played by Freelancer staff. I registered my account in 2015. However, I was off the site for almost 3years. I recently started working on the site and landed a project that paid AUD 135 after their fees.
As a regulation, I was supposed to verify my identity to withdraw the cash. I started the process, but they declined my bank statement severally. Two days later, one of their staff reached out to me with an offer of using the funds to get the "Blue Badge" and I declined.
Today was the 3rd day since I declined the offer, and I uploaded a utility bill to verify my address. Immediately after the submission, I was logged out and upon trying to log in, my account was suspended/closed message hit me.
I don't think there is ANY rule I violated. I have tried reaching the support to tell me the SPECIFIC agreement that I violated and NONE of them have told me the rule. Instead, they are just saying I violated the agreement and they attach the agreements page link.
Freelancer.com, I want to know the SPECIFIC rule I violated. Secondly, HOW will I withdraw my legally earned cash?

I got my account banned, even though I didn't do anything at all. I mean, I created an account about 5-6 years ago, I don't remember exactly. I was still a beginner in my field at that time, so I tried to participate in contests a couple of times, and then I abandoned my account, and after 5-6 years, or rather now I have gained experience, and I wanted to get busy with freelance orders, but in order to start, I had to verify my account, I sent a passport, the document from the bank, and I started waiting, but instead of verification, my account was banned. I was written from support that, It has come to our attention that you have participated in activities that may harm the business operation or reputation of Freelancer. We have closed your account for this reason. " I read all the rules for using the service and I didn't violate any, besides, I didn't take orders, I didn't have any other accounts, how could I participate in something suspicious when I almost never sat there on this site. the only thing I can assume is that I have visited frelelancer.com a couple of times from the free VPN service. and the ip received from the vpn could appear somewhere, but these are just assumptions. how can I resolve this situation if I really didn't do anything wrong and didn't break a single rule. in general, I put - 10/10 for service, support, and the desire to help sort out this situation. I do not recommend this site to anyone for freelancing

Frozen account
Out of the blue, freelancer wants to re-verify my account. My account was frozen and given 45 days to provide the following :
- provide pics of identity docs like passport, identity card etc
- provide pics of bank account, utility bill etc for address and name verification. Provide iras assessment and credit card pics for verification as well
- provide photo of oneself holding code display provided by freelancer and the other hand with an identity doc.
Only law enforcement authorities are authorised for such comprehensive checks. Moreover, they want to just verify account but need to sight all identity and financial docs.
Only scammers require all these details
They cited financial requirements to prevent fraud, money laundering etc mandated by law. The banks and financial companies are better at it and not them. Moreover, my account was verified by banks.
They have shady websites globally for complaints but doesn't respond.
The gist of it is that after 45 days, they will close the account and all monies to be confiscated and probably regarded as ill gotten gains
for enhancing their profits.
All monies confiscated include monies due to freelancers for their service provided to clients like us. This tantamount to killing 2 birds with one stone. Double profits to freelancer.com

No response from Support Center
My identity was verified by freelancer so I could withdraw my funds. That's what I thought. If it's your first withdrawal there is a 15 day delay because of security reasons. After a week I get a notification that my funds are locked, because they wanted to know where and how I was hired by my employer. My employer and I didn't have any communictaion on freelancer.com because I was hired on upwork but my account on upwork was closed because I didn't submit my documentations to verify my identity. So we both made an account on freelancer to continue our work. I sent all of this to freelancer to explain with proof and documents. They say that the issue will be resolved within 48 hours. It has already been three weeks and I have reached out to them multiple times without any succes. So they have my funds and I don't know when or IF I will receive it. They say that they want to protect their users against scammers but it looks like they are the scammers in this case
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a respons.And I would like for my account limitation to be removed so that I can continue working on the platform. I would like to receive my money

Restricted account then closed with no reason
We received an email yesterday at 8:41 pm advising that our account had been restricted due to an infraction. There is was no notification when we log into the dashboard but we are unable to access the support chat because it notes that the account is restricted.
We have absolutely no idea why this has happened. We eventually chatted with someone from Freelancer who told us that we would receive notification via email. We did receive a reply automated response from Freelancer stating that we had "No Access - Sorry, but you do not have access to view this page.
If you feel that this is an error, please contact us."
This was our only method of contacting Freelancer but apparently we do not have access to view the page.
The account has since been closed by Freelancer.
We have no knowledge of any reason for restriction and we have no information from Freelancer. We have existing clients that we are providing services for and now we are unable to contact those clients and continue the projects. We have funds in our Freelancer account that we cannot access.
How is it possible that Freelancer or any company can take fund without notice or reason and restrict access to the clients that we are servicing.
Desired outcome: We want the account reactivated and an explanation for why the account was restricted and closed by Freelancer without notice.

I've contacted their support center but the only information they answered was that I violated terms and conditions. No explanation about specific details.
they say you violates our terms and conditions. This is not the way you just say you violates our terms your account is closed there are many effort involved to earning money.
My account also has been closed with 2500 USD worth of milestones from our clients. Plus $5000 worth of withdrawable funds.

I am working on freelancer.com since 2019. No single complaint against me. 70+ projects completed. Now my account is closed without any warning or email notification. I asked the support team why this happened. They answered that I have violated the rules. And I know I didn't. I asked them to point out what mistake I have made, and give me a screenshot or link to it. No answers yet. Still not answering on Twitter LinkedIn and my emails. I asked them on their Facebook page. Instead of answering they blocked me. they ruined my life in the middle of hard times. this was my only source of income. Closed my account and withheld my money
I have been posting projects through freelancer.com and day before yesterday they have cancelled my account. Since, then, I am not able to log in to my account yet. I have been having 4 Open Projects and a sum of around 33000 INR and all of a a sudden I lose all rights to my freelancer.com account. Further, I have raised the Support Ticket and wrote an email to [protected]@freelancer.com. However, they neither gave me a valid reason for account cancellation nor tried to listen to my views on it.
It's been three days, I have been continuously messaging Freelancer Support Team and requesting them to either revoke my account or allow me at least 15 days to close all running projects and withdraw my money. I have even mentioned the severity of the situation and how it's impacting my business reputation if I will not be able to complete those projects on time. So, I will request the Complaints Board Team to look into the matter and help me gain access to my account, pending projects and money in the account.

Stolen my money

They are dead silent to my support tickets, emails, Twitter, and Linkedin messages. Did your issue resolve, did you get any HELP from this platform?
No didn't get any help, i have tried to contact them through email many times but i get the same copied text again and again, they are not even telling what kind of violation i have made.
Account closed and not letting me withdraw payments
I have been using freelancer.com for the past 8 years and everything was ok. But recently my close was suddenly closed. And they stated I violated some terms and conditions but didn't tell me what. I had earnings in that account and one more payment that wasn't released yet because Customer didn't have his identity verified yet. He asked me to open a dispute so I can get the income soon but I insisted on getting his identity verified approved. And I also had some other payments in the account that I hadn't taken out yet.
I reached out to them to ask but instead of giving answers they just closed my ticket again and again. I am attaching a copy of my conversation here for a better idea.

Freelancer is going to freeze my account without allowing me to withdraw
As much I have concern like other freelancers, mainly from pakistan we do work for 16 hours a day to design, develop and execute our projects for our clients. I condemnly complaining as I have seen other freelancers are also facing the same issue, one of my collegue from office got stealed her money from freelancer.com and this did it from the freelancer management she complaint again and again and she provided the all the verification more than 10 time it got accepted and then rejected after several days. more than 600 dollars were in her account and the account became blocked. even I was helping her to complain via email too but freelancer management stealed her account without paying her the money I know she is in very criticle financial condition unfortunately she had zero motivation to work on any plateform just due to freelancer.com she had done more than 20 project and all of them succefully delivered and 19 of them were 5 star rated. nothing was any bluff or illegal thing or anything which can be marked as unconstitutional or illegal.
Freelancer should open her account and pay her back all the money. Customers dont deserve the money back only the freelancer the developer who work and delivered the project deserves the money.
Same thing is going on since 2 months my account got freezed and I can't withdraw or transfer my account. freelancer asking multiple question and I clarify all the things more than 2000 dollars projects are ongoing process and more than 700 dollars are in my account. every month freelancer deducting my amount of 100$ of his fee but they aren't allowing me to withdraw. its really unconstitutional.
