I've read so many complaints about freelancer.com! Could ever imagine they were so many users with the same problem as mine!...
My account was being suspended at the preset date my withdrawn would take place. The suspension became without a warning. The reason was because they discovered that I had a double account. In fact my husband has an account too, we work totally independed but as we live in the same house and we share the same IP, they thought we are the same person, even if we have different names, different emails and different paypal accounts.
Anyway they requested COLORED official goverment ID's from both of us, such as a photo of us holding our id's in one hand and a verification code on the other hand (you know, like the prisoners do).
Anyway we sent everything they asked as the ticket was reporting that our accounts will be unsuspended within 24 hours. At the same time they were mention that they resolve every kind of problem within an hour, via their official page on facebook.
After those 24 hours past nothing happened. Their live chat support just sucks. They could do anything even if we all know that they are the same people who answers the tickets.
As I found many complaints here, I started thinking that I'll totally lose my money. I saw cases there with account suspensions for over 3 months or some else lost their funds.
So, I searched for them on the internet, I found out their addresses, their phone contact numbers and I also found out some Australian Laws about Internet Crime. One of them was really interesting. It was saying: "A COLOR copy ID requested from anyone is totally Illegal!" I guess that means many years behind bars.
I also communicated with a layer in Melbourne, as I have family there (I live in Europe) and he gave me some extra details such as this company isnt' certified etc. I collected all these info within few hours and from this time I was entering into the chat ALL THE TIME insulting them and telling them that they will resolve my problem NOW or I'll use any legal tool that Australian goverment provides to get my money. I also lodged many tickets saying the same. Their copy paste answers were the same: "You have to wait, we don't know when... etc" I talked with so many persons on the chat, so many times (even if I really know that in fact they are two -three different persons with multiply nicknames.). I mentioned them about the Aus laws about the color copy ids' they request and all these!. When I told them that I have their phone numbers and adddresses they didn't believe it, until I made a phone call and I left a message on their anwering maching.
All I want to say in few words is that I was insult them for 15 hours ALL THE TIME repeating the same and the same again. I also found out some mails belongs to the CEO and I've sent some mails there too. I was so deciding to prosecute the company. And, truly, I was going to do it via the Australian layer if this problem was keeping going.
And, today, when I woke up, everything in my account had being turned back to normal! What a miracle! And my husband's account too! :) So I did nothing but I'll keep all the matterial I found about them, just in case they banned me again! I called to the layer in Aus and told me that everything is ok but maybe I'll use him in the future, as I don't trust them. For the time we have decided to keep working via freelancer, as we are waiting for some long term projects, but at the time they will suspend again one of us with no reason, I won't communicate with them. I'll just start the law process at once!

So what I want to advice you is this: INSIST on your rights! Make their blood pressure hits limit up! That's the only way to escape from unfair issues. As any kind of suspended account is not your fault, you have to insist to get what you deserve!

They are doing same to me. You are lucky, I am not only suspended only, they are humiliating me like criminals. They have asked me to send images holding ID card with a number. Then they asked me to send the Bank statement holding a number. I saw that in movies when accused were brought to police station. :S . Feeling ashamed just for the some bucks that are my living. :S

Same to me is happening..My account has been suspended and no one is responding...They are giving an email just saying that your account has been suspended due to suspicious transaction. My employer confirmed them twice that at least give the money back so that he could pay me other way. They are doing nothing and just said we haven't received any email from your employer though he emailed them kept me in CC. I communicated with Live Chat many times and they just say they haven't got any access to my account.. What the hell is this!
There should be some legal authority who can charge over them..They took charge in advance and give this type of pathetic service to us...

I have the same problem, I'm working on an ongoing project and as it's 60% done, I got a considerable sum of money already payed by the buyer in my freelancer.com account. When I asked for a withdrawal, just the next day I got a notice that my account was suspended. They requested a scan of my ID. I sent them the scan of my ID. Then they requested a picture of me holding my ID and a code they provided. I sent them that. Then they asked me "how do you communicate with the buyer?". I answered just now and I'm waiting for their reply.
I think they're just holding on the money because it was a big withdrawal, just like banks when they're about to go bankrupt, they just hold your money as long as they can.

Freelancer.com is a big cheat / scam... they never help freelancers, they will take project fees from you even if the employer cancel a project. They don't have good customer support. They don't help freelancers at all. They have policy of keeping your money forever... These cheaters will not let you withdraw your money if its less then $30 (even if you want to close your account, they will keep whatever money left in your account if the amount is less then $30).

They work on their own rules (actually no rules at all) they will do whatever they want to do... they don't care if you want to work with them or not, you can never win a claim against them.

The Arbitration system or dispute resolution system is also a big scam.. they will charge you fees to resolve the issue and they will never help freelancer to get money, they will most probably be in favor of the employer or they will give neutral decision also you can only claim dispute for the amount for which milestone is created, if the employer of the project has not created any milestone then you can't even file a dispute, and if you ask for 100% milestone from employers then most of the employers will not accept it ... employers can cheat you, will take your work and will fly away and you can't get any help from freelancer.com or getafreelancer.com guys. They are all cheaters... if you want to loose your money and want to regret later then only join freelancer.com

It is not necessary to create problems and then them to correct.
On sites Elance and oDesk of such problems isn't present.
It is your technology of deception of clients.

I have tried to connect emir and max both emails are not working.

17th August 2015, one emails comes to me "account information changed successfully". i was shocked that i have not make any changes (may be it was me but i didn't remember ). i goes directly to freelancer help center and talk about the issue so that if anyone makes any changes i will capture and correct. i c my settings are correct nothing is effected. help center moved the issue to tire 2 department. i was happy that i will get info of the activity details at that time. but surprisingly they suspended my account and asked for too much difficult questions

1. When was the account created?
2. What was the verification code sent to you to verify your email address when you created the account?
3. What was the phone number used to phone verify the account?
4. What is the complete address registered on your account?
5. What was your last authorized transaction on the account?

how can i remember these information. nor me anyone can remember these information. date of account creation, verification code, even i m not confirm about my last transaction. while i have registered phone number and system can tell you that i have received many verification on this number. and my address.

I m looking for help

I also successfully verify all documents but they suspend my account .they want me to choose one account but i only have one account which i use. but they get some account which i don't know and they says it your account and they want me to talk with that account owner we will allow one one account to be continue .
I have $850 in my account with 8 ongoing projects o freelancer please cencel my account suspension of my account please. which i earn from my efforts please let me know how you want to give me justice.

Hey All,
Freelancer first process me from their b=verification process ask from me to upload all document I upload and they accepted here every thing was good now they start firing of question I always respond their question they told we have noted it and ask again other question and this step continue for one week I answer their question in morning they reply in night then they told me you are owning more then one account even some of that was not mine and i accepted that was mine and i told to close they close all in same day now they start forcing me to make agree with account that was not mine they say coordinate with other freelancer, is it possible can i give my account to any other freelancer or can i close my account for any other freelancer I denied to do like closing my account for other freelancer after long time they ask same question they always told me to coordinate with that freelancer in all answer finally they suspend my account. I write mail to freelancer support team and willc@freelancer.com that i found from this site you can see above.I got one mail in which they was saying you can keep both account. but now they send me two more profile with saying it's your one was mine they I already told to freelancer to close but they was keep it activated because this account i was using with my partner it may be due to this. I already agree this was my account and i told to close. he send one more account that was not mine and told me to choose which account you would like to keep. what the hell is this going ? will they send all freelancer account to me ?
One account that he was saying is mine get suspended and he make that activate their comment is also here i check he is not block now but I am still waiting to get activated

I have taken project some of that is my regular client I could not communicate with him because they share everything only on freelancer.

I request from freelancer please activate my account close all whatever account you think mine but please activate my account "IMPHASYS"

i did a project for a client in freelancer.when i finish it he made the milestone, but when he install site project on his system he got some issues. i told him to give his CPanel login details or let me access to his computer via teamviewer to fix it.
then he blamed me and told me that i am a thief and try to access to his system.
and then he filled a dispute for the full milestone.he told i am a thief .but i had lot of CPanlel login details of previous clients.so i provided all as an evidence.

then he had not anything to say. but he forced freelancer .told (on dispute page) that if freelancer pay me, he wont hire anyone on freelancer.

but finally i paid arbitration but he didn't pay and i got money.and i got the option to give feedback to client's profile.but i didn't care. i though that option available only for me.because i won the dispute.but in some hours. i saw client have added a review to my profile.he has added a very long, very untrue review to my profile.i was shock.why freelancer give that option if i won dispute.?

THIS IS THE MAIN PROBLEM

next passed some weeks and i got some reviews from good clients after that long bad review. one day my account suspended and cannot login.no any warning or i don't know what is the problem.i sent an email to support. and had to wait 3 days to just for understand reason.
then got an email from support.they said that that old client reported me.they told me that i have a problem with that client and my account will reactivate only if client confirm. i don't have any option to at least talk with him because he blocked private message board before one month.

client have said that i have added a bad review somewhere.but i didn't. i don't have time/option to do it
i have proofed all as they told. but today is 6th day.and still account under suspended and no replies from support team since 3 days.
i have more than 5 project in progress.don't have option to talk with them.
please unblock my account.i had sleepless days to collect reviews.

I completed a task for a client on freelancer.com, got the payment and it was in my account. I even requested a withdrawal for it.
A few hours later, my account gets suspended and after a full day of no access, I find that all of my money was gone. They reversed two milestones, each worth 520 USD and I lost 1040 USD.
Will try to find any means of getting my money back.

Be careful! Don't make deposits or leave your money at Freelancer! They steal your money, it's the only place where they charge you for leaving your money there, I lost $ 40 USD, I opened a claim (OYAB-7652-KAHM) reply me that are maintenance charges for my account. #mymoneyback #Iwontstop #freelancerscam

I wish that were the case!
However, it's nothing but lies. The policies are only meant to protect the website and not its users.
The payments aren't secure at all.
I got payed for a task, requested a withdrawal for it, and was waiting for it to get processed. Then somehow, the client's credit card account pulled the money back from freelancer and guess what, they took it back from my account (they actually have this exact case written in the policies as well so that they don't have to pay in such instances). Does that mean anybody can get free services on this website by using false credit cards and they have no check and balance? Or was that guy smarter than their security system? Above all, why did they not take responsibility for this and pay that money from freelancer.com's funds instead of taking my hard earned money? Not only did I lose the project amount, I wasn't even payed back the 10 percent commission for crying out loud!

The same had happened to me several times they ban accounts for no reason, and they don't provide any reason. When asked about it they only send back automated emails. Their support team really sucks!

They steal my money, they also steal my friend's money. I dedicated my entire time to freelancer.com and in the end, they ban my account.

When you build a reputation for years and then you are thrown away it's very heartbreaking.

I suspect, the reason they ban my account was that I talk to my client about the project fees. Freelancer.com converted my currency back and forth with that I lost about 80$. I told this to my client. The next day Freelancer put 80$ into my account I was very happy but then the next day suddenly they banned me permananetly.

My account close without knowing the reason. Freelancer didn't send any email regarding this. I wa trying hard to verify my identity because banks in lebanon doesn't provide home address on bank statement or on bank letter and bills in arabic language. After trying with many delivery receipts and western union receipt my account get suspended! Now my money gone ?! I have asked the buyer to refund his money and to send them by another way. Is this possible? What i should do ? 800$ gone!
