gm customer service/care
First off let me say, I have always owned GM vehicles. I purchased a 2016 GMC Sierra Z-71 SLT in April 2016. Nice truck. A year and half later the truck has no brake pedal (the pedal locked up (brakes not applied) ). Call GM for assistance. They were really nice but came back with you are on your own. Vacuum pump failed. It is worth mentioning I drive a lot of miles and truck has 45k miles on it in a year but still I don't think this is a time range for something like this to happen. I almost hit another car when this happened. I'm going to get on every GM forum I can find and recommend anyone with this problem to file a complaint with the NHSTA and hope GM is forced into a recall and I don't care if it bankruptcies the company (once again). You have definitely lost a customer in me. I know one customer is a drop in the hat to GM and I don't expect for GM to care. Ford or Dodge from here on out for me.
service issue: st. clair cadillac, san jose, ca
Took our Saturn Vue Hybrd (2008) in for a repair to the heating system. This necessitates removal of the dashboard and steering wheel. On December 1, I finally got through to someone that the car was ready. I learned that the service advisor handling my car had quit. The issue is that the care was returned with two defects that were not related to the repair, but at least one of them was obviously related to servicing the vehicle.
1. Steering wheel mis-aligned. It doesn't line up when the car is going straight ahead.
2. Stabilitrak System is now malfunctioning and shutting down after unusual noises coming from front end wheels.
These manifested themselves a couple of miles into the drive home. Reached home safely.
Called back Dec. 1 c. 4:00 PM, but no answer, and only voice mail from service department. No return calls on saturday from "Aaron" voice mail.
The car was obviously not safety checked, even though the printout given at cashier's desk showed all green, no issues.
No calls returned today, although both Service Dept. and General Manager were left voice mails.
complaint for car service (dl 10 cb 3385)
Dear Sir/Madam,
I have bough Beat LS (diesel) car in Dec 2011 and got all services from cheverelet authorised service centre till apr 17 and my complaint is as follows below:-
1. I had all services done in time as advised by your booklet and by service centre engineers but in my last service to Metro Vasantkunj service centre, I was informed that I have to get work for back combustion (throwing oil from dip-stick) in which engine will be opened to rectify it and total expense will be aprox. 60-70 thousand. Now I would like to know that my car has completed only 97000 kms and all work/services done in your authorised service centre, even it is single handled driven by me on Delhi road then why the hell it is this happened in less 1 lakh kms where as other vehicles it does not happened so early. I need solution to this as I have to drive still 4 more years in delhi.
2. I had service of my car on 29th Oct 2017 at Metro vasantkunj. I told them to change coolent and they charged Rs. 1200/- plus taxes for it but 2 days ago (2 Dec 17) when red light occurs on right side of meter while driving I checked there was no collent and water showing in container as photo attached I would like to complaint that I am only driving this car and if this is happening in 35 days after service that coolent gets vanished despite no leakage is notices during this period so it means they had never changed not even top-up it but cheated customer without doing it.
Kindly take appropriate action in the interest of all consumers and to avoid defamation of reputed company like yours.
Thanks

steering vibration
Purchased a new 2017 GMC Sierra in September. I have taken the vehicle back to the dealer twice due to a vibration in the steering wheel. Both times the tires were road forced balanced. The second visit after the balance did not seem to help the dealer put sensors on the vehicle and drove it as required. There was a high pitch vibration identified, but the level of vibration was not high enough for the dealer to proceed with correcting the problem. The dealer stated that since the vibration level was within the allowable GM range there was nothing more they could do. The vibration in the steering wheel is tolerable in around town driving, but highway driving after 15 minutes my hands start to tingle and go numb. I can't imagine any vibration levels being acceptable in a new vehicle.
dealer service center can not fix my 2012 chevy cruze
I bought a 2012 Chevy Cruze from a Hallada's in Dodgeville WI in February of this year 2017. In the 9 months I have had the vehicle, it has had to be serviced a total of 8 times:
Feb 2017- Issues with pigtails on headlights frying- Brought back to dealer/bulbs swapped out and wires supposedly changed.
March 2017- Car just died as I was pulling gout of my driveway. Had car towed back to the dealer, it was my understanding that the water pump blew. This was replaced.
April 2017- Dove car home from work 24 miles, stopped at the Walmart was in the store for 20 mins, came out and car did "No Crank/No Start". It didn't have any warning lights or error codes. 6 hours later it started and it was driven home, the very next day I brought it back to the dealership. They advised because it didn't throw any codes that they could not do anything, and that they didn't find anything wrong with the car.
Sept 6th 2017- No Crank/No Start- Brought back to the dealership. Still stating due to no codes, nothing is wrong with it. Did my own reasearch and found the following information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGdLB7-Ph7o (Video that shows exactly what my car was doing) and http://www.autoserviceprofessional.com/article/97271/no-crank-cruze, Provided this to dealer. Don't know if they actually tested this, but I was advised that this sensor was changed. Also having continued issues with Headlights, found out that pigtails were not actually changed the 1st time it was brought in for the issue. These were replaced at this time.
Sept 21st 2017- No Crank no Start issue again- recorded this on video for dealer. Brought car in on 9/23 back to dealer, still not showing any codes. Was advised that the main battery cable was changed, because that could be the cause.
October 2017- The key sensor stopped working with my car, which caused a security error and almost stopped the card from running, had to take it back to dealer to get keys reprogrammed for the car.
November 14th- Had issues on 11/11/17 and 11/13/17 with No Crank No Start. Brought vehicle back to dealer. They have had the vehicle since then- 15 days later they still don't have a fix for the vehicle and I have been told that it is not fixable without a error code, they refused to fix it. I either want it fixed correctly or I want a replacement. The dealer wants me to re- apply for a loan so they can do a trade after 9 months of owning this car, I am upside down in payments and now my credit would take another hit for the hard inquires because they either sold me a lemon or they don't know how fix cars. This whole situation frustrates me. I have been stranded multiple times(mind you the heat doesn't work if the car doesn't work) and now that it is winter that is not a good combination. Also, I am in the process of fighting with them to get a copy of the full service record for my vehicle with all the items they have actually fixed. The dealer has not been quick to respond with all the information.
2012 chevrolet colorado sabili trac system
The two Chevy trucks that have supplied us with reliable service without having to change anything but the oil, water pumps and starters are both over 35 years old. 1980 and 1980 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive beauties. They are truly amazing vehicles. We have never owned a new car in our 45 years of marriage but recently we sold a piece of property that allowed us to buy a new Colorado. We like the truck. Perfect for small hauling that my wife does as she accumulates trimmings and trash our of our yard and great for grand kid's transport. Then one day about a year ago the stabili trac service warning light turned on so we took her in for service. They informed us that the little computer that controls the safety feature was on the fritz and a new one costs just under 1k to purchase and install. And to top it all off, our warranty had just expired a month or two before the system failed. This has been bothering me since that day and I promised my self I would write you people a letter expressing both my pleasure of owning your products all these years as well as the shock of such an expensive part malfunctioning after such a short time. The dealer out here on Maui has been faithful and diligent in their post purchase service responsibilities, kind and considerate. We have been driving the truck around Maui with the stabili trac system warning light on believing that we don't often encounter slippery or icy driving conditions, yet it is a problem that I don't think we fully whose ramifications understand. Is there anything you all can do to help bring the costs of the replacement part down to a level that we can afford? Appreciatively Yours, James and Jane Kohler
2012 buick lacrosse
Since December of 2012 my car has lost power at least once a year. The dealer claims that it is a faulty battery and replaces the battery. This has happen five times. On Wednesday, November 22 the stability track service light came on, there was a clicking sound, the car lost power, and grinned to a halt. I immediately called AAA however they determined that the battery was at 100%. On Friday, November 24th I took the car to a GMC dealership and they concluded that it was a faulty battery. However they we were the team that installed the faulty battery. As a result they replaced the battery for free. Today, Monday November 27th the car stability track service light came on again, the car clicked, and lost power.
I need some assistance with solving this problem clearly there is more to this problem than the battery.
2009 chevy traverse
Took traverse to dealer ship on november 13 2017, after having problem with losing power. On highway causing a drop in speed from 65 to 35. Suddenly. Caussing a car to almost rear end me. Dealership keep traverse overnight. And said that it was trans. Picked traverse up week later on nov 17 2017. They said problem fixed. Drove home and two days later...
Read full review of General Motors2011 chevy equinox
I am the owner of an 2011 Chevy equinox with high mileage. I have noticed that my vehicle uses a lot of oil I've been getting oil changes Around 800-1000 miles. The vehicle engine makes a loud noise. On November 22 I received another oil change the next day when I started my vehicle it begun to shake hard and the dash reads engine power reduced. I took it an auto shop and was informed the timing chain is no good. And I will be needing another engine. I was told that this is a known problem with these vehicle. I have called the dealership near me and was told there is no warranty or recall concerning this issues. Although there're tons of complaints. This is devastating to me. Gm should be ashamed.
chevy spark
Numerous problems told unrelated to recall front control aren't problems tire sensor problems battery replacement wiper replacements the only thing covered on this car was the radio recall spent $199 transmission cvt flush not covered did front end work installed boot left side $162 with labor total $673 nothing was under recall or warranty plus a 20 percent markup boot is around $45 assembly no more than $100 even my tire and to be replaced and there's a recall on them since 2016 sensor $101 and a tire replacement. Thus is unfair GM tells me the control arm issue would be covered dealer said no I want any issue that was related to the transmission fluid being wrong covered and the bolt covered under the warranty.
2015 chevy true north edition
Shortly after purchasing my truck, I advised the dealership of a slight vibration that was beyond the expected one (one that happens when it try's to save on gas) they said it was normal. The issue persisted, so I mentioned it again when I went in for an oil change. This time I went for a drive with one of the guys in the service department and he also said it was normal. He said if i were to put the truck in manual that it will go away.
The vibration got worse. One morning it vibrated so much that I had to pull over. I called and took it to a different dealer ship, who suggested that it was not normal.
The truck has been in to them several times and we still have the same problem.
Solutions so far:
1) Machined the head gasket. Truck was gone for some time. Something about cylinder 5 was messed up. That didn't fix the vibration
Solution 2;
They thought it was the exhaust manifold. To which I said it can't be? But they wanted to try that anyway. That didn't do it.
Solution 3;
Now comes the bandages. They said GM had advised them to put a bushing (clamped the engine) under the engine.
That didn't do it.
Solution 4;
They suggested that GM tech from the head office will be coming and that they will have him take a look. That never happened.
I came back in again and went for a test drive with the mechanic, who admitted that it was still doing the same thing. He booked another appointment for the truck to come back in.
Solution 5;
They put it under scope and recalibrated the truck. They informed me that it was much better. Key word here is "much better", not fixed.
At this point I am saying my options. I have called GM and requested they take this truck back and that I was willing to buy another one, but I hoped that they can give me a break on the next vehicle. I was not being unreasonable. I didn't ask for a free truck, which most people that have heard my story had suggested.
What is a laughing matter here is that I have always driven a Ford and thought I would venture out to a GM product which has left a bad taste in my mouth and to top it off the customer service at the call centre does leave anything to be desired off.
2010 cadillac srx
I bought a 2010 Cadillac SRX at Sunset Cadillac of Venice in Florida in October of 2016 with 46, 000 miles on it. It now has 58, 000 miles on it and I just had to have the left front hub bushing replaced at a cost of nearly $500.00. While Cadillac was replacing the bushing, they noticed unusual wear on the lower control arms. How is it that these parts are wearing out after less than 60, 000 miles? My wife and I could not afford the extended warranty on this vehicle as it would have added more than $2000 to the cost of the vehicle. We wanted a safe, reliable vehicle that would last us a few more years. This has us wondering about the quality of the parts Cadillac is using to produce these cars. We have already had to replace both headlights, and they are not cheap for this vehicle.
Cadillac has quoted us a price of $1287 to replace these control arms (see attached file). My wife and I are retired and on a fixed income. This represents a huge outlay for us, especially as we expected a Cadillac to last longer than this.
The other thing that surprises me is the markup on the parts. $670 for the parts seems extremely high, especially when the OEM parts online are listed at $149.00 each.
We would like to continue having our vehicle serviced at Cadillac, but we can have the work done much more affordably at an independent repair shop.
I am not sure what GM can do about something like this. The labor seems reasonable, but the parts markup makes it impossible for us to get our car fixed at Cadillac, to say nothing about the poor quality of parts that are failing before the car even has 60, 000 miles on it.
What can GM do to help us out with this?

2012 gmc sierra 5.3 afm lifter failures
Disappointment! Coming from a family who are Die Hard GM fans going back many decades and have purchased many new GM vehicles, I am disappointed that my latest vehicle has been such a let down. For the second time in 5 years, I have a serious engine failure before my vehicle is paid off. I have a 2012 GMC Sierra with the 5.3 litre with the infamous AFM lifter failure issue. After a year of ownership, I had an AFM Lifter fail and all lifters and cam were replaced under warranty. Here I am working middle class, a vehicle in the $40k range is a high priced car which I would expect to easily run 250, 000 miles with todays technology. Our family has a 2007 Silverado which is non-AFM and currently has 204, 000 miles and just took a trip to Florida in it and ran flawless. How can an estimated $10, 000 in repairs be considered normal within 5 years and a truck with 75% highway miles which has always had Full synthetic oil changes and driven easily. How can I buy another new GM vehicle when I experience heartache and failure and I go on the internet this I see this issue as a common issue which still hasnt been resolved and no recalls. $5, 500 I have to shell out right at Christmas... Never again, my next will be a Ford Diesel~
ourisman chevrolet alexandria virginia
I have waited over a year to make any statement or comment about this dealership, however from our purchase experience right to the service they provide it has been completely atrocious. They must provide the worst customer service ever possible. Each time I believe it cannot get any worse, I am proven wrong. I sincerely, deeply regret purchasing a Chevrolet or anything from the GM family due to my ongoing experience at Ourisman Chevrolet in Alexandria. When it comes time to replace our truck, Chevy will not be my choice. I will absolutely make sure to share with my all my networks, personal and professional to never under any circumstance conduct business with Ourisman Chevrolet of Alexandria. There are too many experiences over the past year and a half where I've given them the opportunity to do right but they failed as expected. My most recent experience was yesterday when the truck went in for scheduled service and repair of 3 outstanding issues that are due to faulty workmanship. They immediately returned the vehicle stating the complaints could not be reproduced. If I had not pushed back hard over the phone with the service person and service manager, they would not have gone back and tried again only to determine they could not reproduce any of the issues. After much debate since the customer is always wrong here, they tried again and one they claimed to have repaired and the other 2 are still present even though they were noted as repaired on the ticket. The service person, Keith then approached my wife who brought in the vehicle for service and was extremely rude. A bystander stated that Keith is acting as if he's doing you a favor instead of a customer. As others have stated, customer service at Ourisman is nonexistent. Please do not put yourself through the headache of doing business here.
This is one of the greatest buyer's remorse I've ever experienced. As in a previous post, I pre-purchased all my scheduled service at this dealership so I am stuck here, but as for anything else I have to seek another dealership and hope for the best.
gmc oil consumption issue
To whomever this may concern,
My husband and I are currently owners of a 2012 GMC Sierra with a 5.3L motor that has 58, 000 miles. Last week with no warning we heard a pop in the engine while driving and a continuous knocking noise there after. We then pulled off the road to assess our issue. My husband checked the oil and is was completely dry. Mind you a few weeks prior there was plenty of oil in this truck when my husband checked it. With no prior warning, no low oil light, or check oil warning our engine was knocking and completely dry! There was absolutely no leak and no smell to even warn us of possible oil burning. I contacted GM and had a case opened with an underwriter. We also has the truck towed to Hurricane Chevrolet in Hurricane, WV to have it checked out. All while doing so we find out our power train warranty expired October 30, 2017! This is only a couple weeks prior to when the incident with the engine. Every conversation with GM about the issues reassured me that everything would be taken care of since the warranty had just ended. Then come to find out the dealership ends up telling me this is a HUGE ongoing issue for GM engines with the 5.3 motor. They said they had several oil consumption issues come into the dealership and that a class action lawsuit was opened for this very issue.
So a few days later we got the bad news that we needed a cam and lifters. After speaking to several mechanics I was disappointed to learn that this would only be a temporary fix due to other metal particulars flowing around in the engine and advised that getting a new engine would be best.
The dealership then contacted me to inform me that GM would only cover $1900 for the repair and the remaining balance would be $1700! What? How is this even right knowing 1. This is an ongoing issue with a class action lawsuit that was opened 2. We are only a couple weeks out of warranty 3. This repair is only temporary 4. This absolutely is no fault of our own! This is a 2012 GMC Sierra with only 58, 000. We currently still owe $24000 on this vehicle. My husband and I both work full-time jobs and are down to one vehicle! This has been such a burden to us! I would truly hope to hear back and for GM to make this right and get us a brand new engine. I would ask you to put yourself in the shoes of the consumers who are having all of these issues! Please be fair and do what's right!
Thank you!

Two years off aggravation. Everyday I drive car it shutter done road till this day. So many problem and repairs that I finally got car Lemon Lawed. New car was looked for and had to many extras. GM wouldn't work to help negotiate with price since I had to conform to what was available. Was offered to build car and took few days to build to be told that the color was built out! Really! Why was the color still on site? Why did I Get built Tag! Once again someone got the aggravation. Finally there was another car that was found that would work and again I wasn't givin a buying price. I need to give them may pay off info for them to give me a price to hide money? Really! Bought my car at GM price and that wasn't given either. I'm also a business owner. I also work for Ford I know. Shame on you GM for not taking car of your own.

2007 chevrolet colorado
On 11/20/2017 we leased a brand new Chevrolet Colorado pickup at Bical Chevrolet in Valley Stream, NY. After we completed all paper work and proceeded to drive the vehicle to take home, we noticed the electric car seat lights would flash when we tried the heated seat. The passenger rear door also had to be slammed shut even though it was supposed to be automatic.
This is the second incident we had experienced electrical issue with a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado. The first time we had also visited another dealership on 11/20/17 at Smithtown Cheverolet, in Smithtown, NY. We had also completed all the necessary paper work for the lease and were about to drive away, we noticed the front passenger headlight was not working (no lights). After several phone calls and days passed, one assurance after another that the car would be fixed, the issue was still not resolved. The salesman would avoid our phone calls and the manager we spoke with promised a loaner car and a call back but when we followed up to speak with him, he would not be available and numerous messages were left unreturned.
It seems coincidental that we would experience electrical issues with the same year and model cars. Would you please assist us investigate these cars and help us get an explanation from GM or Chevrolet and we would be interested to know if there are issues with the vehicle as we just signed a 39 month lease.
The vehicle ID of the car we purchased is: 1GCHTCEA6H1301925. The Chevrolet Dealer is: Bical Cheverolet in Valley Stream, NY.
service
Brought our 2017 truck in for an oil change at smith chevrolet in kamloops bc. The service advisor is rude and very conceded. I am sure not to ever stop at this place again. It is such a shame for we are big chev/gmc people and any other dealship we were ever too was always so nice and helpful. I real think this deal ship needs to take some lessons from other chev/gmc dealerships.
2018 chevy equinox
The first week in October, 2017 I purchased a brand new 2018 Equinox from All-Star Chevrolet in Olive Branch, MS. I was very please with the staff however literally 6 weeks later it was in the shop with a transmission leak. I am furious about this and I want to know how does a brand new Equinox have a transmission leak? Obviously it happened at the factory. Is this common? Is this what I have to look forward to from your product? I want to know how this happened.
