I live in Richmond Va and was given a $40 Walmart gift card for Christmas by friends who reside in Charlottesville, VA. I registered the card per the instructions. When I tried to use it, $1 was deducted from the card and the card would not let me use the other $39. This happened on February 9, 2017 at the GreenTop Sporting Goods store in Ashland VA. The greendot card was a VISA ending in 7686. I checked my balance online and it showed the $1 debit, no other debits, and said my balance was $0. What happened to the $39? I complained to the company twice on their website as instructed but have not received any communication from them despite being told I would receive a response in 24 hours. These guys are stealing money from people who pay for their gift cards. I will complain to my BBB and attorney general office for the State of Virginia.

My name is eleazar sosa. I have an existing cashback rewards card which I ordered online. I lost it. I tried to get a hold of customer service through online chat. And through several diffrent customer service numbers which were of no help. I wanted the funds from my greendot cashback rewards transfered over to my prepaid debit mastercard which keeps track of all transactions more thouroughly including place date time. They couldnt help me. Its a lump sum. And I feel like maybe they couldve stolen. Or transfered money or closed accounts when they coulve just transfered the debit like I demanded. Theyve been avoiding me or shining me off. So do to your bad "24" hour customer service online and through the phone I have to be assed out of my money all weekend. I tried calling headquarters. Lost my green dot bank card. When I call to use the customer service number it is not recognizing my birthdate or social security number. Because it is not recognizing me and I dont have the card number I can not speak to a person. I have money in this account that I cannot get to. I have a Walmart prepaid money card I went on the website and personalized my card. I had my taxes sent to the card on 02/22/2017. When I personalized my card they sent me a whole new account which I did not know. I contacted them because it would not let me access my funds. They told me it is two different accounts I asked how that happened they could not tell me I said okay, transfer the money from that account into the other account. We can't do that we will have to send you a new card in ten days. I asked to speak to a supervisor they said I had to have a valid reason to speak to a supervisor after being put on hold for 30 minutes the supervisor got on the phone and promptly hung up on me. I called back and requested a supervisor again was put on hold for another half hour. I was then told that I could pay my bills out of the account but I could not get cash from the account. Then Kae the supervisor asked me well what do you need the money for? I told her it was none of her business I asked to close my account was told I could not close my account without waiting for a refund check for two weeks. I called Walmart, Visa, and Green Dot Bank at green dot I spoke with a condescending man the only thing he would give me was his name is David. He told me it was my fault the accounts were messed up and he would get me a card in three days he could not and would not tell me why they could not transfer it to the card I upgraded to.
They would not help me they wanted to know what I wanted to spend my money on this money was to make it to where I could give my sons a good birthday and to give my family a little financial freedom since my son shot himself in the head in January of 2016.I want an apology from the company for making me stress out when I have enough stress in my life.I want 1000.00 for my two sons having to cancel their birthday party. I am absolutely furious at what happened with your bank today, and this is now the second time I have had a major money hold hostage issue.
My card would not work last night, 3/10/17. I figured it was because I was out of state, with an unusual transaction for me. I received no email, text, or regular mail alert.
My balance was well over $1000, so when I went to make a purchase today, and it declined, I called customer service.
What I was told, in very badly broken English, was that my card had been reported stolen, shut off, and a new card was to be issued. I made no such report, it seemed that the representative was script reading, and was no help. She transferred me to someone else, who claimed to be a supervisor. This woman refused to help, would not turn my card back on, refused to give me my new card information, and would not indicate if the new card had been sent or not. Funny thing is, she knew I was in a Verizon store, trying to make a purchase, and she would do nothing. Even after telling her your bank had made a huge error, and it needed to be fixed immediately.
I am going on vacation this week, and now I'm wondering how I am going to do so since your bank messed up and is holding all my money hostage. This is the second time in a few months that I have had a situation with your bank, at the fault of your employees, and I have had enough.
I need my card ending in 6399 turned back on immediately, or you need to overnight me a new card immediately. How am I supposed to pay bills, and take a vacation with no money? All because your bank made an error and your employees are refusing to even put a trouble ticket in, or escalate to another department? I am furious to say the least.
I need a phone call by Monday at the latest, and I need a new card no later than Wednesday. This is completely unacceptable and fraudulent. Period.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to speak to a human representative about and questions or issues. This itself shows the how little "value" they have for their customers. I have simple questions that cannot be answered by a stupid machine. I just want to know the original balance of the card without giving out my SS. This is the only pre-paid card that takes money out of your account as time goes by! ANY OTHER OPTION is better.

Jan 27, 2017 I ordered a karaoke disk from buy karaoke downloads.com They gave me downloads Instead of disk! So on Feb 7, 2017 they refunded the money but to date nothing has been added back to card Feb 20, 2017 I keep being told to file a dispute Buy karaoke downloads already settled just refund has been put on card yet. I purchase 7 visa debit cards thinking I was buying gift cards for the elderly for Christmas, when I found out they were debit cards I requested my money back on 12-19-16, I received one check and to this day haven't seen my other six refunds checks. Green Dot customer services keep telling me the same thing, We will be mailing your refund in 2 weeks. When asked to speak to a supervisor claimed that they were all busy but I could hear them telling the Rep what to say. All I ask is for my money back that's all! I know you have a lot of complaints and concern at this time, but you must understand it's not fair for us, your customers to wait this long for our refund.

I will never buy another Prepaid card from Green Dot. I work at a hotel so I know money takes 3-5 business days to be released but 3 weeks is crazy. Then I call to see what the issue is and they tell me they do not see anything but my initial load, that is until I give them all the dates and amounts I'm calling about. They then see that "the merchant has the money" but a manager is not available and will give me a call with is 24 hours which is now 16 days later.

I purchased a $50.00 Wal-Mart visa gift card (greendot)for my granddaughters Christmas. On Christmas morning she called to see the balance and found out is was $1.74. We instantly started a dispute over the phone. About a week later I received a replacement card and called to check the balance, it was still $1.74 so I spoke with a CS rep, using the term loosely. I was told that I needed to e-mail them a copy of the back of the original card and my granddaughters ID. This was done while I was still on the phone and the rep confirm receipt of the e-mail and required documents. I was told that the dispute would be resolved by 01/06/2017. On 01/09/2017 I called to check the balance, still $1.74 and again asked to speak with a rep. Again I was told to e-mail the back of the card and the ID. I explained that it had already been done and after checking the notes saw that it was and told me now that they had the documents they could start the dispute. I waited another week and called again, again the same thing, I asked to speak with a supervisor 8 times before the rep put me on hold and came back to tell me that none were available and she would submit a return call request. I was told I would get the call within 24 hours, nothing. This happened again two days later, again nothing. I called again and insisted I speak with a supervisor, supposedly a person stating they were a supervisor came on the line and again told me to email the docs again, again I explained it had been done at the first of the month. The supervisor said that now that hey had the docs they could start the dispute. I requested that persons supervisor and was told that someone would email me with 24 hours. shocker nothing yet again. I have called a total 8 times since 12/25/2016 and this is still not resolved, so in other words my granddaughter has not had her Christmas but you f_____ing ### have. I called again on 01/26/2017 and this time I was told I had to go to your site and fill out a dispute letter and email it back before the dispute could be resolved. I am posting very negative information about the incompetent and unethical experience I have with this organization on every multimedia site I can find. I have completed the now required dispute letter and submitted it. Not that I expect anything to happen because once again you have your money so why worry about a child Christmas. I am advising everyone to stay way from anything related to the name green dot and if they have the misfortune of using them expect fraudulent use and absolutely no resolution. Contact the State of Utah Financial Institution. They regulate Green Dot and I have a case against them for $500! If we all go after them, maybe Utah will put their scamming behinds out of business!

I am request for my refund checks. I received letter dated [protected] from Greendot Corporation stated that we ask that you not purchase any of our products or ask others to purchase them on your behalf. I just want my refund checks from 12-5 2016. If anyone who liked to read the letter I will sent you a copy. My case number is 5320133 with processing department.

greendot will not take moneypak upload
Purchased a moneypak for $280 tried to reload it but with no result green dot is asking for ID verification again 3 time in 4 months after I received emails saying my identity is verified and I can use the card. I was travel and was stranded do to not having access to the funds. Moneypak has no way to speak with them directly and greeendot INC gave me the run around with nothing but excuses. We as consumer purchase these product from greendot with hard earned money and to have a multibillion dollar corporation give service so poor is unacceptable. three refund checks that I have not received for transaction on 12-5-16
My claim number-sf0219 transaction amount $130.00 and $120.00 and $20.00 on 12-05-16 with HSN . I did not have enough on each card for shipping so request refund with agent Gene and other customer agent at Greendot-[protected]. I sent a usps certified mail on 1-03-17 but no one have pick it up at the post office. It was delivery on 1-06-17. I sent it to Green Dot Corp Transaction Dispute P.O. Today I was able to speak to an agent 2 times to assist me with issues regarding my account. I called again for further information. I then entered my card number the automated systems now says that that number is not valid. Then I entered my SS# and once again the automated system says that my SS# is not valid; then the automated system ended the phone call with no option to assist me further.
Needless to say this is UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I am NOW EXTREMELEY ANGRY and CANNOT Pay A Bill that has to be paid TODAY! I put alot of money on the MoneyPak and need to add funds to pay the bill!
If I can avoid using this system (after this issues is corrected) I will not use it again!

I found a phone contact on their website www.greendot.com and when I called some lady said that all representatives were busy and gave me another number and told to call there. I called and no one answered. I called again and the same lady said that I can leave a message and someone would call me later. Of course that was a lie and no one ever bothered to contact me! It seems like these people don't care about their users at all. Probably the worst customer service I have ever dealt with!

I bought my card 7 hrs ago. It will not let me register it online. I just talked 2 a lady on the phone I asked her 10 times 2 talk 2 her supervisor because she was not listening 2 what I was trying 2 tell her about my problem she refused 2 let me speak 2 a supervisor and transfered me 2 another automated line and then it hung up on me. I tried 2 activate the card 1 time and it told me it wasnt the right info then I tried again and it locked me out 4 24 hrs which I don't think is right and this problem needs resolved. I got a green dot card from my son's dad. He loads money on my card so i can buy things for our son because he lives in another state... Yesterday... Thanksgiving>>> greendot decided they had waited long enough for me to receive and activate my personalized card and shut off my temporary card even though i had clearly not recieved my personalized card>>> had i gotten the personalized one i would have activated it.. My name is orita waller, on the 29th, I bought a green dot card from family dollar. I loaded $41.00 on the card. My cell phone was disconnected, so I use my son's telephone to activate the card. Although, I used my sons telephone, I used my name to activate the card. I used my name, current address. It allowed me to access funds at that time, sp. I paid 15.00 towards my cell phone service to get my phone activated, and it worked.
However, the next day when I went to the store, I got to the register and was very embarrassed because it declined my purchase.
When I got home, I checked the balance and it said there was a block on my card. When, I finally talked to someone they said, that is not your card but your son's card. I told them that they were wrong because my son didn't activate the card, I did. Than they told me to send in my drivers license picture of the front and back. I did this several times before they could read it. After they got my i. D. I spoke to an agent who told me they had taken out 9.95 for monthly charges, and I said, you better put my money back, I just bought the card, it hasn't been a month. She did agree that they weren't suppose take out a monthly charge yet. However, she said, you didn't activate this card, your son did. I said, I used my social security number, not my son's. What I believe the problem is, is that the computer had a glitch in it or whatever. They made me wake up my son who works 3rd shift, to ask him his ss # and did he activate the card. He told them no, and he gave all his information. They did not believe him or me, because both my son and I have several green dot cards. And, we moved at least twice since we begin to activate the cards. They told my son to send his i. D.In. He did, but they said they can't read it. Okay, I am disabled and receiving disability, and we don't have money like that. So, regardless of how many times he sends his in, and how clear or big he makes it, they still say they can't read it.
Now, I feel that I should not have to go to staples or somewhere to pay money out to make copies. They just will not believe us and I feel that they are being prejudice. Ii is my money and I want it, but I feel that if we were a different color we would have had to go through all of this. The representative pretty much came out and said, that she didn't believe me. Why? Why are you putting me through all of this yo get my money. This will be the last damn time my son and I use green dot again. When I tell people what is going on they are astonished. I truly believe this is a prejudice issue. I can never get a supervisor, and everyone there is foreign, and half the time I can't understand what they are saying.

you are better off looking up the volunteer lawyer program for low income people like our selfs and starting a class action lawsuit these people will not stop there are many bbb complaints I never keep excessive money on my card I put it on monthly when its time for my car insurance payment because I have been scammed by a previous car insurance company that is no longer in business but i use prepaid so they can only take what I owe and not more and if they have a issue they can bit me because they legally haven't notified me of any changes so yea get a lawyer look up the volunteer lawyer program for low income families your state should have one I know the one I found earlier I wish i saved the link worked in multiple states.
