home depot flooring
After 2.5 months, three separate measurements, 7 trips to the store, and picking up and moving the materials in and out of my house 4 times, I now have to return the materials and cancel the service order for a refund. Even though the measurements (at 3 different times) indicated that installation of the Pergo (floating) laminate flooring was possible with some sub-floor preparation, the company which installs floors for Home Depot, American Carpet South (ACS), refused to install it, saying that it was not possible. ACS did remove a carpet in one of my rooms, but in the process, removed (and took without return) the transition from that room to my foyer, and tried to charge me for moving furniture in a separate room and removing almost 200 square feet of tiling, which they never did. I called the Home Depot Corporation HQs in Atlanta to complain about this all, but they simply referred me back to the Springfield, VA store, who could have cared less about my situation. Also, try calling the flooring department sometime; despite several attempts throughout the 2.5 months, I was never able to get through to anyone, even after waiting 15 minutes or more Please do NOT consider Home Depot for installation of floors; you will be better served by going elsewhere, even if it costs you much more.
no limited warranty as stated on product
I purchased a Home Accents Holiday 7.5' Sierra Nevada Christmas Tree (Dual LED) in November 2016. It served its purpose and was a beautiful tree for the holiday. Upon taking the tree down today, two of the smaller branches fell off onto the ground. I feel that this tree was defective, as the branch wasn't being pulled or forced in any particular direction; I was just removing the ornaments. The box (and online information) says it has a 3-year limited warranty; however, there is no information as to who to call to get this warranty. I would like my tree replaced, as I do like the tree & would like to have it again for next year. So, I called the Home Depot I purchased it at & I was told that they have no phone number for the manufacturer and that I would have to bring the tree in for a full refund. Then, I'd have to purchase another tree next year before Christmas. I am not happy with this result. I would still like my tree REPLACED, not refunded by Home Depot. The 3-yr warranty should be upheld by someone & I would like to know who. I purchased this tree at a fair price, and if I purchase another one next year, it may cost more than what I paid for this one. If Home Depot can't find this manufacturer and get my warranty, then they shouldn't be dealing with that company. Very disappointed in the answer I got from Home Depot.
carpet installation
Home Depot in Inverness contracts through Romanoff Renovations. Carpet was due to be installed this morning. They sent out someone that was down in his back and in obvious pain. He said he would not be able to do the seams. Call Romanoff and they have no one else to send today. So here I am with crap everywhere and Christmas is in 2 days. I called my Home Depot to complain and they said they would call me back. That was an hour ago. I paid over $3000 and am complete dissatisfied! Get reliable contractors!
shipped wrong toolbox, missing parts, and charged me over $70 to deliver it, no help w/manager or store at all.
I went to the Camarillo Home Depot last weekend to buy a large rolling toolbox for a Christmas present. After talking to the salesman, we went to order it online, with delivery. They upcharged to get it here before Xmas, and when it got here, it was the wrong toolbox, it was missing parts, etc. Tried calling customer service, wanted me to return it (wouldn't make the Xmas deadline), then they wanted me to drive to Oxnard (30 minutes) to pick up SOME of the parts, they would mail the bolts. I didn't like this, so I suggested they waive the delivery fee (wrong product, couldn't get the right one here on time) I would buy the hardware and liners, which I did...approx. $50. They declined, more calls, maybe a partial refund... so, I paid $70 to get the wrong item, had to pay $50 to put it together, and Home Depot feels this is acceptable. By the way, it was $100-150 lower 2 weeks before, so they are NOT losing any money, just regular customers. I will also file a complaint w/the BBB.
advertised promotions not available
I went in to purchase the carpet with the free 72-hour/seven day installation promotion at the Manteca Store When I took my sample up to the clerk to order it, she said it was they were behind, and it would not be installed for four to five weeks. I decided to wait on purchase at that time, hoping to find a sooner installation date at other Home Depot locations. I therefore called other Home Depots in the area, looking for a sooner installation. They had the same answers. I went back to the Home Depot in Manteca to see if they had possibly hired additional help to cover the installations. They had not and at that time had a sign posted stating there would be a delay in installation. Four to five weeks is a huge delay, when you are expecting to go in there and buy carpet to be installed within a week. I am really disappointed that a store of this size cannot honor their promotions, whether they have to hire more employees or not, or offer up any other solutions.
delivery guys unprofessional and rude
I bought a gas range in Home Depot. Sale person was nice and very helpful. Home Depot should and contract with Spirit. They sent subcontractors for delivery. So many good people looking for work and you hire the laziest people who don't do their job right employees . All of these terrible reviews don't shape anything new in this company. My delivery was today. 2 guys parked their truck far away from my house even on another street. They did it because they didn't plan to do anything. The guy came in and told he can't connect new range, because it's no ceramic tile under the old one? He gave me the option to drop a new, but not connect it.
I asked him to wait until I will talk to Home Depot, they told they busy and run out from my house in 3 min. I called to Spirit co and asked them to bring my range back and my friend can do connection, but they never came back and I have to wait for another delivery another week.
Home Depot will loose their customers.
closure of my home depot card
I have been a customer and credit card holder for 12 years. TWICE now, back in October 2016 and just recently, I went to use my card and get a 10 percent discount on my total purchase. I was told (much to my embarrassment, the card had been closed). My account is in good standing, I am never late. This is unacceptable. After numerous phone calls, blaming everyone accept Home Depot, I finally got a supervisor to admit they made a mistake! But not once, TWICE. I was told after 7 days the account would be reinstated, and would give me a $50 credit. This is all fine and good. But the frustration and embarrassment, leads me to believe I may want to rethink keeping my card since this error happened TWICE. I want to be assured this situation does not take place again. Please place some kind of notification pertaining to this on my account. I would also like a letter explaining the error and your responsibility. I would appreciate a prompt reply to this email.

delivery of appliances
This was in Sept through Oct and into NOv with one screw up after the next on a full Kitchen Aid appliance order; Fridge, stove, dishwasher, oven.
Multiple times I was given dates and times of deliveries and after sitting around for hours and taking time from work they simply never arrived. They had one excuse after the next...
I missed two days of work and countless hours sitting and waiting. i had to cancel plumbers and electricians that were there to hook up appliances.
Then they never delivered my oven after the other items finally arrived... this took 2+ more weeks.
This is the most incompetent group I have ever dealt with in my life... even Home Depot could not help and reel them in. i will never ever order from Home Depot again if they use these hacks... and I flip 3-5 houses per year...
stay away and order from lowes or your local appliance store even if costs a bit more...NOT worth the savings.
pit bull dogs in the store
Good morning my name is Willie Surry and my complaint is about a young man bringing a pit bull dog into the store it was at the cascade store on 11/15/2016 at 8:00 pm I had my grand child with me and she is very afraid of dogs now I know that some customers have service dogs but this young man came in the store at the return area like he owed the store so I put my items down and left the store I don't see the need to bring dogs in the store unless they are service dogs and I have never seen a pit bull service dog no one said anything to him about the dog and the security person outside was not far from the entrance where he came in the store the dog was a red pit bull as far as I am concern I will not shop in that store until I know that this has been addressed I am going to contact our community leader and let him know about this incident and I will shop else where until I can get a good resolution to this matter and I thank you so much
manager, avan and cashier, kavita.
Date of the incident: 11/3/2016
Time approximately 12:20 p.m
Cashier: Kavita
Manager: Avan
Place: self service door.
Dear sir or Madam:
I was working as a security guard around 12: 30 p.m by the self service door in the home depot store in Jamaica. A Cashier earlier was trying to talk to me. She then, came to my post told me that " I want to tell you some thing, I know you will feel bad about it. I asked her that is it? She told me, " I need to wash my hair". I told her that there is nothing wrong with my hair. I just washed it today before I came to work. Later, she told me I have t0 color my hair . I told her that I can not color my hair because my hair color is natural. I did not know the cashier was trying to start problems with me with the personal conversations. I continued to check the receipt for the customers. Approximately 12:200p.m, a man came to me said, he just forgot to pick up his change, a 20 dollar bill by the the self service register. I tried to direct the man to the cashier by the self service area at that moment. Later, the cashier came with another cashier, they told the man, they can not help him about it. Then, I asked them if they can notify the manager about it, if there is a possibility the man can be assisted by the manager. The casher, Kavita was angry, when I saw her, I tried to tell her that a customer was assisted in another home depot in the past after her left his change in the counter. Therefore, I suggested her to speak to the manager. The cashier, Kavita was constantly urguing with me about it and I told her that I do not talk to her any more. Kavita later called Avan, the manager. So, When he came to my post, he started threatening me at my post. There were customers coming by the door at that time. Avan, looking at me anxiously, yelling at my face, "if I hear you telling any customer again that in another home depot, a customer left money and was assisted by the manger there, then I will strictly remove me from the store right a way." Then, he told me that that was reason he removed me from the store the last time I was here. This was not true, this was never the case the last time I was there I know. So, I told the manager that he was trying to be very unprofessional front of the people at that time. I notified this incident to my security company, Metro one. The told me they are reviewing this incident. Avan, the manager has harassed me before when ever, I tried to refer the customers to him for good services. The last time, I was in the Jamaica store, he tried to get me hurt by his violent friend who was also a cashier. He never reported this incident to anyone. In the past I observed he allowed Kavita take lunches and breakfast from the customers in the store. When ever anyone ask him a question, he tried to avoid them, including the securities in the store. The cashier and the managers do not allow me assist the customers with the right services. They urgue and threaten us by acting rude and anxious. So, how I am supposed to do my job as a security. The manager asked me what is my job? He told me checking receipt only. I tried to tell him that we also answer customers questions, tried to assist them the right way as much as we can. The manager said, he can not listen.
The last time a few months back I was working as a security in Jamaica home depot. the head cashiers were not printing out the trainiee receipts, so I was not able to attatch them with my recovery reports. I was telling the store LP about it and the manager would not like me to report this incident to the LP. There fore, he did not allow me work in the store.
Our company, Metro one sands us securities, as the employees. The manager all the time, sands me home because he does not like me to help the customers with the right services at all or he does not like my race. I hope the New York city labor department and higher rank professionals of the home depot take this complaint seriously and discipline that manager for threatening me in my post for no reason. The cashier should be disciplined also for making remarks and inter fearing with my job on purpose.
Thank you for your time dedicating looking at this complaint.

terrible service with roofing leaking problem
Our roof was replaced by The Home Depot, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in Dec. 2012. In fact, it was contracted out to a third party through its partner – Peak Installations Inc. Here is a link from the previous manager on how the installation business was operated by Home Depot (https://ca.linkedin.com/in/paolo-hribar-ab090851)
Since the installer left, our nightmare began. Fifteen minutes later, we noticed there is air leaking from the Sky window. The noisy hears like hurricane whistle, very loud and noisy. However, the installers never came back due to the work is one time business for them. A few days later, the former peak installation manager Paolo sent a person coming over, who said he did not do this type of work; Several weeks later, Paolo sent a drywall worker, he said the could not do this type of work either. One month later, it was caulked from inside. However, we can still hear the wind blowing noisy during the heavy wind.
Another problem is that the damaged roof plywood was not replaced as we required in the contract because the installer did not care and they could receive same payment from HD without doing extra work.
Next, the water leaking problems happened one month later in Jan 2013. The leaking places include three area: a. ceiling area in the main bedroom on the back side of the house closing to the chimney; b. ceiling area in the 2nd room in the front side closing to the roof valley; c: front side wall area closing to the eave and window. Later, what we was told the leaking problems were caused by ICE-DAM, were not be related to roof installation.
However, during the summer time from 2013 to now, we found that the leaking problem in front side wall area under the eave closing to the window still exists. The answer what we got from The Home Depot was that the eaves trough was blocked, which caused WATER BACK flowing from the roof edge to the front side wall.
The eaves trough was replaced in Jul, 2014. We found that the leaking problem in front side wall area is not gone. This time what we got from The Home Depot it was due to the attic; there was no problem with the roof installation.
There is no ice-dam in the summer anymore. However, the wet front wall problem directly under the eave still happens after heavy long raining now. The Home Depot still insists there is no problem with the installation, it is due to the soffit blocking of attic. When we showed the wet picture to the current supervisor Ralph Cassin, he said he cannot see the difference between wet area and dry area.
The main problems what we experienced with HD are:
Every time we got different inspector or installer involved, because it does not have itself crew. So that we got different answer from different inspector or installer each time. During winter time, the inspector could tell us that it was frozen and snow covered now and he could not go to top, please call him later. In the spring or summer time, when we tried to call the same guy, you cannot reach at the same guy anymore because he left(eg. Ben XXX, Paolo XXX) or he was a thirty contractor for the one time work. During the raining time, they did not come immediately due to no staff. When they found a contractor to come over two or more days later, it is dried out. Maybe that's why the supervisor said he could not see the difference and he never saw the winter leaking problem before because he is a new replacement. He want to us wait another year until he himself see the winter leaking problems although we have a lot of pictures.
Do you want to know how he inspects the leaking problem?
The supervisor Ralph just pulled his head out of the open window. He never went to the roof top to have a look. Ralph, could you please explain how the wet wall is related to the Soffit Intake during the summer time?!
How frustrated we fell with doing business with the Home Depot! Why could not you come over during the raining time to have closely and carefully inspection?
Lots of picture or video will follow up!
citibank credit card - 24 month promotion
Back in June of 2014 we bought a new house, and we were looking to remodel the kitchen. We went to Home Depot and worked with a fabulous designer, who told us that if we placed our order in July and opened a Home Depot credit card, we could get 24 month no interest financing.
I remember filling out the credit card application, and signing the paperwork for the promotion. Our paperwork with the Home Depot reflected a 2 year promotion payable by July 2016.
We paid off our Home Depot card a week before the interest would accrue and called to get confirmation that it was applied to the account. But then, when I went to get a HELOC against my house, it showed that my Home Depot card was virtually maxed out - it lowered my credit score enough that I had to take a high interest HELOC. Upon investigating it became apparent that Citibank had back-charged 4K of interest to the card.
We called to have the situation investigated and they said it would take 60 days to determine what happened. We waited 60 days but no one ever called or notified us of the results. When we checked back with them, they said they determined that we actually had 6 month free financing, not 24 months.
Several damning pieces of evidence exist to indicate that they are lying:
1. I have an image of the promotional flyer for July of 2014, stating 24 months with the Home Depot card.
2. I have prior bills from the credit card showing that the deferred interest was for 2 years, due in July.
3. This also happened to us when we bought our fencing material this year - the deal was purchase more than 2K and the promotion extends to 24 months. It impacted our decision to re-fence the full yard, instead of just once side. The card was reflecting 6 months financing on that purchase as well when we called about the other issue. Fortunately they did rectify that situation, but it indicates a pattern of misconduct to me.
This refusal by Citibank/The Home Depot to acknowledge the terms they offered will impact the terms of my mortgage refinance ( I have to refinance my mortgage to eliminate the high interest HELOC I was forced to take because my debt to income is still showing 4K higher than it should be due to THD). In other words this "mistake" is costing me a lot more than just the fraudulent back interest being charged by Citi...
This happened to me also... I was advised that I had 24 interest free.. I had $200 left on my balance & was back charged interest on the entire purchase.. I understand paying interest on the remaining balance but I was never informed that if you didn't pay 💰 the entire bill off they would charge interest in the entire purchase. My account was charged $853.00 in interest... it's like I am paying interest on interest now.. I will never ... ever do business or shop at Home Depot again & am looking to file a compliant as I was advised by a representative & also a manager that there was nothing I can do..
behr paint/stain rebate scam!!!
Purchased 1 gallon of paint and 1 gallon of stain back in early June and was given 2 rebate forms to submit. I received a notice in July saying that I needed to fax additional information in as the original info did not qualify. Faxed the same info in and called Home Depot and was told it would take an additional 4 to 6 weeks to process. It is not September 15 and I did not receive my rebates. I contacted Home Depot once again and was told again that the info was not updated and was given a new rebate tracking # and told it would be processed in 4 to 6 weeks. I asked to speak with a supervisor as this was unacceptable. I spoke with Christopher who informed me that it would take 4 to 6 more weeks because the rebate has now been updated correctly. I then asked to speak to his supervisor and he transferred me back to the original answering pool. This is such a BIG SCAM that HOME DEPOT is pulling. They know they are making money if even a small percentage just gives up! Looks like LOWES is my new home store!
7 piece posada outdoor patio set
We received the product in April, since then we have contacted Home Depot on several occasions via phone and email. We even sent pictures of the damage items.
The table had a piece of film missing and they put a piece of tape over it but it should have been exchanged for a new table top. We purchased it new and it came in like a second hand piece. Home Depot's solution was to send us paint to fix the problem. Two of the chairs had damage on them and again the solution was to send paint.
We are now into September with no real answer to having them fix the problem. This is a very frustrating situation.
delivery service to home
This is the second delivery issue I have had with Home Depot in the past two months. I have a ten pound lifting restriction due to a medical condition. I am willing to pay the delivery charge, but, I must also asked family and friends to assist with getting the delivery item into my home.
The first was a damaged, torn box and missing parts for an arbor for my daughters wedding. I had to return the arbor to the store due to the extensive damage. I had to get some one to assist with placing the item in my vehicle and did not receive any assistance from the Home Depot staff in the parking lot (they could not be located).
The second order is a 40 foot ladder with a total sales price of over $500. I was informed by the delivery Co. that the ladder would be delivered on Friday, September 9th between Noon and 5 PM. I was to receive a phone call when the driver was 30 minutes away from my home.
At approx. 4:50 PM, I called customer service which was busy for over 10 minutes. I decided to use LIVE CHAT and after several apologies and cals to Falcon delivery, our live chat was disconnected at 5:55 PM.
A little after 6 PM, I received a phone call from someone indicating that the ladder was not placed on the truck. However, after an apology, I was asked what time on Monday Falcon could deliver the ladder. I told the rep it had to be after 5PM due to the need to reschedule my son to assist me with putting the ladder away at my home. She ind. that I would receive a phone call RIGHT Back. I never received a follow up phone call.
Today, at 8:30 AM, I called SEKO who transferred me to Falcon. I was told it was very difficult to deliver to my rural location from Beltsville (due to rush hour traffic and the driver having to get back in the evening), however, they asked what day was I available and indicated I would receive a phone call within an hour to reschedule.
My point is, what about me having to reschedule my work, reschedule assistance at my home and my inconvenience (wait around for 4 hours and no one calls or shows up at my home on Friday). I am the customer and should not have to cater to the need for the delivery Co to get back to Beltsville.
Home Depot customer service should handle these issues. It should only take one phone call to one company. HD should be catering to the customer no the other way around.
carpet flooring
This company is awful! My measure date was 8/10 its two small rooms. They did one room then had to come back and do the other. Its now 9/8 and they are doing the second room today. I had it booked for yesterday, I booked it over a week ago. No one came yesterday, when I called and asked why no one has been out they said they do not have me on the schedule for today. The manager called me this morning and gave me a estimated time of arrival. He asked me was there furniture in the room I said yes, Home depot said USIG will move it. So I confirmed with the manager that yes there is furniture, very little furniture but there is some in there. The tec arrived on site, ONE tec and said he is not moving the furniture. He has now left the job and I am waiting for someone else to arrive? Awful!
scanned your items too many times
I lived in FL and went to a HomeDepot in NY to help my mom fixed her apartment. In a hurry and talking to my brother at the time, i did not noticed the cashier scan items too many times until I got to my mom's place. I went to a HomeDepot closest to her place trying to get the issue resolved but was told to go back to the HomeDepot where the purchase was make and they can review the video. Long story short, at the HomeDepot where I made the purchase, I was told there is nothing they can do. I am so upset because they are not even willing to fix their own mistake! I will not purchase from HomeDepot again.
siding installation
Shoddy workmanship and no follow-up: piece of siding fell off after 5 years, so well below the average siding life length. Called for service, someone called back next day, and was scheduled a few days after that for 1:00 p.m. Contractor did not arrive by 1:30, nor 1:40, so I called and left my exact name, address and phone number--still no call back by 2:00 p.m. Called Home Depot, who attempted to reach contractor...who then called me at the same time...claimed he arrived 12:00 p.m. Yes, one hour early, BUT he left no note, no message--no call ahead that he was coming. After two more calls to try to get this rescheduled via HD, nothing.
DO NOT HAVE HOME DEPOT DO ANY CONTRACTING WORK FOR YOU--SHODDY, POOR CONTRACTORS, AND NO FOLLOWUP WHEN ISSUES!
hampton bay dragonfruit red patio umbrella
Don’t by Hampton Bay products from HomeDepot. I have been a loyal HomeDepot shopper for EVER. At my previous condo I had 3 black Hampton Bay umbrellas, and they were perfect: didn’t fade, didn’t have any crank issues.
FAST FORWARD 2016: This spring, with my 50 degree deck, I went and bought 2 dragon fruit red Hampton Bay umbrellas and 2 Suntastic deep lounger deck chair pillow sets. It is August, and I now know it is all garbage.
The umbrellas have faded in 3 months and the stuffing for the seat cushions have completely broken down from 4 inches think to one!
Good news, I can get a store credit, and then outlay another $400.00 plus shipping to buy off of HomeDepot online. The store can not do an exchange because their product line is the same as the Hampton Bay defective canopies.
So in plain speak, I can lend the HomeDepot store $400.00 until I need something that the store sells; and then in the mean time spend the same amount again online. No a store credit can not be “spent” online!
If you research the internet there are all kinds of bad reviews for the Hampton Bay umbrellas and the patio suites; there the glass table tops explode and the swivel seats break off their bases while people are enjoying dinner.
Don’t buy Hampton Bay from HomeDepot! It is overseas garbage.
1.5 cu ft haier - portable top loading washer
AFTER being routed through a number of departments, I was informed that Home Depot doesn't offer the extended warranty to the $399 washing machine that I ordered online through their website. I believe that all companies should offer extended warranties to customers - whether the purchase was online or bought in store.
I can in fact buy a toaster, in store, and get the extended warranty.
A further explanation from HOME DEPOT - this $399 product is classified as a small appliance - hence no extended warrantee. BUT it truly was because the product was from HAIER - and not from LG or SAMSUNG.
SHAME ON YOU - Home Depot. Had I known at the time of purchase that the company would not offer the extended warranty on the $399 purchase - I WOULD NOT HAVE MADE THAT PURCHASE.
I would appreciate that either I can return the product and get my money refunded or the Company offer the extended warranty.
