Stock orders
Hi.
I bought cubboards at brisbane store with the promise that the doors will ne in stock April which move to June. The stock of 6 doors arrived to service the whole of brisbane. That is not good. Who orders only 6 doors for stock. Crazy. If you cant supply take it of your stock list.
Disgruntled customer
Defective item not replaced
4/14/22 opened an item from IKEA and found a defective board (cracked all the way through). Online chat with customer service was worse than useless. They refused to :
1) Send a replacement or
2) give me a phone number for the store (!) or
3) give me an address to send written feedback.
I called customer service and was given great service, a "case number" of [protected] and the (unkept) promise that a replacement part would be received in 7-10 business days.
After 10 business days with no results I called again and was told that the complaint was entered incorrectly. Rather than fix their error they "canceled the case" and started all over with a new case number of [protected] and another (unkept) promise to deliver a replacement part in another 7-10 business days.
I called again for an update and was told that "no one has looked at it yet." "The Back End Team is very busy." "Spare parts take a long time." But I should continue to wait 7-10 business days.
That time has elapsed with not a peep from IKEA. So I called again and they hung up on me before I even got a chance to give my name.
Desired outcome: Replacement of a defective part to a Havsta base cabinet.
customer service in Glasgow store ( ref [protected])
IKEA sold me faulty mattress few years ago with warranty of 25 years. The mattress lasted only 5 years. So, my first attempt to resolve it was 30.03.2022. I came into Glasgow store and explained the problem. I was promised that visit of inspector would be arranged within 2 days but it did not happen, I called customer services. Instead of sorting it out, they told me to call company who does mattress inspections Ecomaster. During my conversation with Ecomaster I found out that IKEA did not contact them to arrange inspector's visit. I called IKEA again and was told that we should start process again, so we did.
On the 7th of April inspector from Ecomaster issued report that clearly stated that there was a manufacturer's fault and therefore I was intitled for replacement.
After waiting a few days I called IKEA again and they could not find report. I had to contact Ecomaster again- they said that report was sent to IKEA few days ago. After a few calls to IKEA they found report and tried to explain this trouble by error made by their staff. Delivery of new mattress and collection of faulty mattress was booked for 13th of April but nothing was delivered or collected. I called IKEA again! They said that due to error of their staff, everything was cancelled and we rebooked it for 18th. Customer adviser promised £20 refund ( compensation for failed delivery). Nothing was delivered on the 18 of April. During my next call, delivery and collection was booked for 25th and another compensation of £20 was offered in the form of e-voucher. Eventually I received new mattress and old one was collected, I received e-voucher but I have not received £20 refund. I called IKEA again on the 2d of May to sort it out. Once again I was told that staff promised it in error! In spite of the fact that records about refund were found by the latest customer adviser, he refused to pay it. Obviously I wanted to escalate my complain to manager but was told that it is impossible. The way he talked to me was unpleasant.
Thus, staff who I had to deal with is grossly incompetent. Website does not provide clear procedure for complaints.
Ref number of this case [protected]. My name is Olga Thomson
Desired outcome: Since I spent so much time improving IKEA customer services, you should at very least send me another e-voucher with value not less than £50. IKEA should train their staff to make sure they can deal with system and customers.
Cabin bed - reference [protected]
Good Evening,
We purchased a child’s cabin style bed from your store in Warrington. We dismantled my child’s old bed, painted the small bedroom she has, and started to assemble her new bed. We removed it from all ripped boxes. Started to assemble it on an angle (as the space we had was extremely tight). ready to slot into place when assembled. Mid way through this, it became apparent that the measurements on your website and invoice were incorrect and the bed was too big for the space we had. At this point, we had thrown away the old bed and had nothing for our daughter to sleep on. The result, is we had to ask a builder to cut a section of her cupboard to allow for the bed to be done, and this came at a cost.
We had no other option but to plough on as we had no furniture in our daughter's bedroom and had relied on the measurements provided by yourselves.
On speaking to a representative, he offered £50 as a gesture of good will. It cost us over £300 to get the cupboard cut to shape. I am not looking for the full £300, however… felt £50 was extremely unfair.
After since sending photos of the bedroom with the cupboard cut to size, I have been ignored. I have requested how to escalate the matter, I have been ignored. In the end, I’m extremely disappointment and disheartened by the whole matter, I agreed to settle and have been ignored.
Please, can you confirm how I can find a fair resolve in this matter. Your website and invoice gave incorrect measurements which caused up a whole heap of stress and I am now being ignored.
Thank you for your time today.
Regards
Susan Madden
no delivery of our order
On March 27th, 2022, my wife and I bought some products from your company online and paid for them immediately.
All of the products we purchased were available at that time!
The delivery date has been confirmed to us as April 23, 2022, between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
On 04/23 we received another confirmation by phone, a confirmation by text and also by e-mail that the delivery is on its way!
The e-mail contained a link to the tracking and this tracking gave us the information that we were the 10th customer with delivery on that day.
We were able to track this up to the 6th customer, after which the delivery was cancelled without giving any reason.
At 1:18 p.m. we received a text message from the following number, +[protected], telling us that our order "*********" could not be delivered. Why, no explanation?
We then contacted Ikea via Facebook Messenger and the statement from an employee was that the reason for the impossible delivery was that our order was not in stock?
Price Protection Policy Issue
Order Number: [protected] (attached receipt)
I have ordered x2 HYLLESTAD super king mattresses at the price of £365 each and received them on 19th March 2022. In total I paid £770 including delivery charge and purchased using my IKEA Family Card.
But from 28th March, price has been dropped to £292 (attached screenshot) for the same mattress. So I paid £143 more in total just because I bought 9 days before.
As per IKEA Price Protection Policy (attached screenshot), IKEA says it will refund the price difference but when I contacted customer service, they declined to refund the difference stating this is the new price.
I would not have been bothered if it was less of an amount difference or many days since I bought. But this price drop is within a week I received the mattresses and price difference is £146.
Desired outcome: Could you please refund the price difference for both mattresses as per price protection policy.
Lerhyttan kitchen
We bought this kitchen from Caen in December 2021. It is still incomplete near the end of March 2022.
We have reordered the missing parts and delivery has been scheduled on three occasions but has not taken place. Talking to the advisors on the chat system just gets nowhere as they are unable to contact the delivery company.
Nobody is prepared to actually help us complete our kitchen.
We will never buy from IKEA again as their service is unreliable or downright non existent.
Desired outcome: We want to finish our kitchen!
EGENTID tea bags
Hi IKEA, I love your Egentid tea's but am sad to see they all come in plastic bags. Such a shame for an organic tea. Can they be packaged in paper bags in the future please?
Desired outcome: All bagged teas in individual paper bags instead of plastic.
IKEA kitchen furniture
Dear IKEA,
I would like to file a complaint about the awful and disrespectful service provided by IKEA Belaya Dacha in Moscow, Russia (Order No127742305).
On 28 December 2021, me and my wife visited IKEA for the purchase of kitchen furniture "METOD". The kitchen design was discussed and agreed upon and the final measurements of the kitchen area were to be done prior to the installation. We have arranged IKEA person to come and take final measurements and it didn't happen, simply that our order has been deleted/cancelled from IKEA system for no reason. And funny enough, nobody knew nothing. On 02 January 2022, we made second attempt for repeated design for our kitchen and agreed for IKEA man for final measurements on the same day. All payments were done. After all, we waited for long for the installation and only on 17/01/22 the fitter finally came and refused to install the furniture saying that the design was wrong. We revisited IKEA for clarification and they checked and apologised, saying that the design was correct and the fitter was wrong. IKEA arranged another fitters for the next day. The same story happened on 18/01/22, when the fitters AGAIN refused to fabricate/install the furniture due to the reason that gas stove is too close to the gas pipe (the gas stove was never agreed for the fitters to install, that was our part anyway). So, the second squad of fitter ran away with some excuses. We had to go to IKEA again for clarification. IKEA informed that they would find another company and that did not happen. So, we had to find the fitters ourselves.
The most of the item were missing and were not delivered due to lack of them in the stocks. IKEA promised to deliver them as soon as they are in the stock. We are still missing three drawers (see picture below) and the rest of the item we just refused because it has been taking so long to receive them. The recent (31/01/22) conversation with IKEA about the missing drawers ended that WE need to go to IKEA and pick them up. It was agreed that IKEA would deliver them because that was their fault/delay. Now they want us to come and make new order and get the drawers. I am away for a work abroad and my wife refrains from any travels due to pandemic situation in Moscow. It is impossible to negotiate quietly with IKEA personnel as nobody takes ANY responsibility about the order. I see no ethics in customer approach. This is NOT acceptable at all. I do not think IKEA would like to see their customers unhappy.
I seek your assistance and management in our situation.
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response and solution to the problem. I would like IKEA to deliver the outstanding drawers as it was agreed initially.
Kitchens
They offer kitchen cabinets but DON'T have all the pieces. In November I bought $3800 in parts, and couldn't put a single cabinet together because they were all incomplete.
In order to buy the missing pieces I had to go to the store, they don't take orders and ship to the house, and after 3 months of trips, the parts were never available. I tried to talk to management and after 2 hours I decided to return what I had bought.
IKEA policy
Hello,
I wish to strongly complain about the behaviour of IKEA in Poland. I have basically been an IKEA client all my life. First in my native Denmark and later in Poland.
It has come to my attention that IKEA emloyees in Poland are now being treated differently depending on whether they are vaccinated against Covid-19 or not and that unvaccinated employees have to face reduced sick pay and other inferior conditions.
This is directly against the Unesco declaration of human rights. Of all companies IKEA is the last one I would have thought would resort to illegal and unfair treatment of one group of employees. In Poland this treatment is breaching the constitution.
For me as a client this is completely disqualifying IKEA and after 40 years of frequent visits to IKEA, this will stop and I will no longer buy your products.
What a disgrace.
Desired outcome: Immediate revocation of all elements of differentiated treatment of employees in Poland and elsewhere where applicable.
Online/urban shops service - eket wall fixing 003.400.47
Very disappointing to experience the difficulties to get hold of a wall fixing for the Eket cube in Madrid. After purchasing 3 cubes, once at home,
I discovered the wall fixing was not included. No one in the shop indicated to me about this, nor there was any warning in the pack, so I could have purchased it at the same time. I went to an urban local Ikea shop in Las Rozas, their system was down. The assistant took note and assured me she would put the order through after the system would get back on. She told me she would send me a link to pay for the fixing and then I would be contacted to come and pick it up. I received no messages, so I decided to try their online shop. The Item was not available for home delivery and when choosing click and collect, I was only given the option to pick it up from the Seville shop 600 Km from my address. I phoned up their telephone sales and I was told that the central warehouse did not have the item and therefore it couldn't be ordered to be sent to the local shop and that the time to wait was 40 days. I was advised to search the web for a shop with the stock and go there in person. After much searching I found a shop in the center of Madrid (Goya). The shop asssistant confirmed they had it on stock and directed me to get it from their warehouse section, after queing 20 minutes, the assistant explained that the online inventory was wrong and that the item was not availble. After 2 days of trying to get hold of the wall fixings, the weekend was gone and now I do not know how long I will have to wait. I don't even know what to do next, no one has told me. A giant like IKEA and having experienced the COVID pandemia should really have an efficient online shopping service and really use their local shops as pick up points or have alternative means of delivery. There should be a more efficient coordination system so that clients are not the ones running around only to be told the system is either down or inconsistent. Overall, poor customer service, inefficient coordination of stock, and quite unhelpful website.
Desired outcome: Send me the required Item (x3) by post or by any other means.
Disabled Customer Service/American Disability Act
12/28/21
To whom it may concern.
It's inconcievable that I, as a Disabled/Handicapped person, and potential customer have to hunt down my own wheelchair to shop in your store. After talking with several IKEA employeese, my wife and I couldn't find a single operational wheelchair, so I could comfortably shop.
We had to take off parts from one wheelchair to repair another... without any assistance from your store personnel. I should send you a repair bill.
When we arrived, all Handicap parking was full, except the one we parked in, this should give you an indication of how many Diasable folks there are in the store. You should meet that indicator as a sign... there are disabled people in your store.
Having enough operation wheelchairs to meet the ratio disabled shopper to other shoppers should be paramont and on management's daily checklist for store operations. Missouri DOR, J272694, Expires 9-30-24
Dennis Chrisman
Desired outcome: More respect for the handicap, more operational wheelchairs and look in to electric carts.
Issues with Ikea and their poor customer service for the diabled/handicap.
Does the ADA require a merchant to offer wheelchairs?
Beanbag chair
I placed an order on November 28, and still have no received my order yet and I cant even find what carrier the order was shipped out with. I have attached photos of my order and what I paid for it. I was also charged for shipping for 3 to 5 day delivery. Any help with this would be great since Christmas is only 12 days away and the gift is for my wife.
Kitchen cabinets and installation
I spent a ton of money for a new kitchen and counter tops for my son in Orlando Florida. The Ikea in Orlando did everything possible to make a good deed go to hell. Everything was wrong beginning with the initial measurements of my son's kitchen and all the way down the line. Nothing is aliened, huge spaces between draws, things installed upside down so the grains don't match, inferior products that seem warped and not fitting properly in the design, wrong cabs delivered causing many delays in installation, installers who don't give a damn and just slopy installation practices leaving gaps, spaces, draws uneven and so much more. Many apologies but nothing done to correct. I want it fixed. I want it fixed now before time lapses and we have to live with a slap shod kitchen.
I don't want to further this action but if necessary...

Desired outcome: Want to have it properly installed. If you want pictures, give us an email to send them to.
Returns dept
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to report my humiliation and frustration regarding my experience obtaining a replacement part for a set of faulty Grey Malm bedside drawers purchased on the 23rd November. I apologise for the length of the email but my experience has been prolonged and traumatic. Having purchased two sets of Malm grey 4 drawers in Warrington, I struggled to purchase two sets of matching 2 drawer bedsides locally, eventually my son bought them in Gateshead and brought them home to Cheshire a few days later.
Unfortunately on erecting the drawers the plinth under the drawers at the front had a large lump in the fibreboard and so I had to partially take the drawers apart to remove the part and return it to your returns dept, where I had previously gained a spare part for the 4 drawers set . The helpful customer care advisor tried to gain the part from the spares dept but it was not in stock, she then raised an enquiry ref [protected] to request the Manchester branch to post me the part, she advised me to check if more stock arrives in Warrington, then the returns dept would be able to raise a set from the Market Place to swop the part and I would not be required to return the rest of the partially made drawers.
I had still not received the spare part by post and earlier this week more stock showed in Warrington but when I arrived in the Returns Dept later that day, the advisor checked with the Market Place and they had all sold but she advised more stock was due in soon. She again advised I only needed to bring the part and receipt.
Finally, today a large amount of stock was delivered in Warrington and so I travelled to the Returns Dept after work during the treacherous weather of storm Barra. Charlotte served me on the Returns Dept and seemed to make everything very difficult to gain the spare part. I explained this was my third visit to gain the part and they had no spares available and finally the item was in stock in the store. She reported that she still had check with the spare parts dept, which after a wait she arrived with a piece in a different colour, thickness and design reporting they had changed the design so she could not swop it with the new stock in the Market Place. I asked for her raise this with the manager as I was not convinced this was correct after my previous visits, after a further wait she returned confirming she refused to gain a box from the Market Place and I would have to return with all the parts to swop it all, although now partially made I explained this would be difficult to fit in my sports car.
I had become very frustrated with her lack of helpfulness and so I took the part and receipt with me and went to the Market Place, where I loaded a new set of drawers onto a trolley to purchase them, which would allow me to swop the parts outside and then return it to avoid yet another journey. I did start to open the drawers on the trolley to check that the part I required was the same after Charlotte reporting it would be different and I was suddenly pounced on by the Warehouse Manager who was very rude reporting that I was trying to steal parts and he was going to get security to follow me, I told him I was buying the drawers to then swop the parts, which he argued with repeating that I was stealing - why else would they be on my trolley. He told me, even if I bought them at the till, I could not return them as I had opened the box, even if it had a faulty part . This was very embarrassing in the middle of the shop, I was then followed by two members of staff to the cash tills where I was discussed at the till, I explained to the till lady what a nightmare I was having.
Having purchased the drawers, I fully opened the box in the exit area to find that the part I required was exactly the same as the one I had brought me and nothing like the part Charlotte had shown me . I took the box back to Charlotte in the Returns Dept to show her the correct part and ask for a refund whilst swopping the parts, she again refused saying I could not return it as I had opened the box . I explained that the part is faulty and she had lied about the part being revised as it was exactly the same as the one in the box. Another member of staff Louis then arrived, Charlotte reported she was only following procedures and he finally agreed to provide me a refund and swop the parts.
I am a middle aged professional architect and I was left in tears at the counter with no apology for my humiliation in store and frustrating experience. I explained that I can not keep returning to the store to get the part as I am undergoing chemotherapy for cancer and I should not be mixing with the public who are not all wearing masks in your store - especially the charity collectors gathered in confined lines outside the store. Also I can not stand and wait in queues constantly where my treatment makes me very tired. I did reluctantly show my chemotherapy card to Louis and Charlotte at the end when I became so upset but they showed no sympathy.
The whole experience has been very traumatic . I have just moved into a new house and I have purchased a lot of IKEA furniture approx £1k in Malm and Idanas and I have already had to return a part for the 4 drawer unit. The grey Malm pieces have also had quite a few pieces with grey paint patches missing which I have had to touch up rather than returning them. I am also waiting for an Idanas white wardrobe to come into stock but I am worried if this has faulty parts will I be expected to return all 3 large boxes back as I am having to arrange for a friend with a large car to help collect it when it arrives.
Please can you confirm if I do reluctantly purchase a matching wardrobe if there is a faulty part, am I required to return all of it?
I hope that further to my experience that you review your procedures and staff training and I expect a full apology.
Kind Regards
Sally Manfredi

Millberget Desk chair
The chair is angled in such a way as to push you forward and there is no adjustment for this. It is obviously a design flaw . There are numerous complaints posted on message boards.
I had this chair previously and it was great... This latest one purchased in 2021 in Avon, Massachusetts IKEA is terribly uncomfortable... I had purchased one, thought it defective, returned it only to have the same problem...Unfortunately I no longer have a receipt . Can you help me ?
Desired outcome: Return or fix the product
Delivery
I ordered furniture from IKEA worth € 1.100, - and paid the € 69, - for the delivery. I picked the delivery date - which was supposed to be today. I gave them a portugeses mobile phone number and an email adress to contact me, as well as GPS point where I am located. I asked them to cantact me by phone before they arrived as I am located somewhat remote. I stayed home all day, the phone right next to me. I went to the GPS location several times to see if someone was there. Nothing. At around 12:59 pm I received an email telling me that the delivery wasn't possible. I called the number in the email and talked to an employee who told me that they tried to call me but nobody answered the phone. I never received a phone call! He kept on repeating that they couldn't reach me on the phone and therefore the delivery wasn't possible. I wonder why the didn't send me an email - that could have easily solved the problem. But now it gets even better. When I asked what can be done now, I was told I have to pay another € 69, - for a new delivery! The other option was to cancel the order - then I would get my money, including the € 69, - for delivery back and to place a new order + delivery cost! When I asked why they can't just make a new date for the delivery, I was told they can't. They just wont do it. We talked on the phone for over one hour. I asked to be connected with the supervisor. I had to wait for about 20 Minuted until I was connected, just to have her tell me the same thing. I can't place the order again, because one item is now no longer available for delivery. So, if I want to receive the things I ordered - and I need them quickly - I have no other choice than to pay another € 69, -
I have never experienced such an awfull, unfriendly and uncompromising customer service. It seems that IKEA in Portugal is so well off that they don't need any more customers. They definitely lost one now.
Desired outcome: I would like to get the € 69,- for the second delivery back. It was not my fault that they weren't able to deliver. I don't see why I have to pay for that.
Kulen Dresser
We have been purchasing furniture from IKEA for years and recently we purchased a Kullen Dresser which had Security stickers glued to the inside of a couple drawers. Removing these stickers has been absolutely FRUSTRATING and IVE never had stickers inside in the past. I soaked the inside of the drawer label with soap and water ... THAT DID NOT WORK ... I then I HAD to use WD40 to soak and that finally worked BUT then I have the smell ... I am so incredibly FRUSTRATED and WANT to know WHY you must use labels that have CRAZY GLUE attached ... I am pissed off with the work I had to do to get those STUPID labels off ... I want to tell friends NOT to shop at IKEA just because of this STUPID new labelling process ... what the ____
Desired outcome: An Answer and compensation of MY time and FRUSTATION!
Jonaxel storage combination
This has reference to IKEA ORDER [protected]
We received one of the products (JONAXEL Storage combination) in a damaged condition.
We immediately informed, also uploaded the photographs on 31 August. However Since then no one has come to collect or replace the damaged product.
Every time we call your customer care, they promise to send some one, but no action has been taken till date.
This is really causing a lot of problem for us, and we do not have energy to follow up anymore.
And this is quite unlike IKEA - whom we have come to know for best quality and a very prompt service at all times. Can you please look into this on priority and resolve.
Regards,
