website down for 3 days and details lost
Just Host's upgrade got our site off all search engines for more than 72 hours. After the upgrade, they lost some files, our web design had to be re-done. The plugins couldn't work despite activating and re-activating. Installing and re-installing. We lost both time and money. Their response rate is less than ordinary. I am surprised that this company can survive at all. Should you decide to use a hosting company, do stay far far away from Just Host

Worst Hosting Company
Justhost is a very arrogant, money hungry, scam-loving hosting company. They have deliberately taken my website offline without warning. There customer live support has refused to answer my questions. I would only recommend such a company to an enemy! They are the worst in the industry. My 2 websites have been offline for 4 days straight, I have written about 30 emails but not a single reply. Right now i just want to move my websites but they have changed my password, i cannot even login through their website.
Additionally, they don't have any competent staff as the few good ones they had were being underpaid and decided to leave and therefore their technical support is totally crappy. This industry should have a regulator. Legal services are very costly, but i think its time someone sued these losers and ended this scam-fest
They have caused us a downtime of about 3 weeks, its insane

JustHost is one of the largest hosting companies around, I think that says something, don't you? If they are how you actually claim they are, I doubt they would still be around. I've been hosting with JustHost for awhile now and I love them. Has my website gone done in the past year? Yea, I'm sure it has, but that's because I chose a SHARED hosting server, meaning others can bog down the server. You claim to have written 30 emails while your site was down for 4 days. That's over 7 emails a day, about one every other hour that you're awake. I find that...hmm...exaggerated a bit? I've spoken to their support staff several times to help me with my wordpress site, and each time the staff rep is very knowledgeable and competent. Again I find your accusations hard to believe, how would you if someone is underpaid, or the reasons for anyone leaving? How would you even know that someone left? As far as I know, JustHost is rapidly growing/expanding. Your post makes me feel like you're angry at the world and therefore exaggerated everything.
Anyone reading the original comments please do not get discouraged about web hosting and web hosting companies. These kind of comments about web hosting companies are like chicken little crying the sky is falling, when it isn't.
If the numbers are from some testing company, it's too bad some testing companies post results as if those results are 100% accurate. Anyone can make up some numbers and post them on the internet. There are so many variables that just posting some numbers is not ANY kind of test. Even the testing companies have problems that will appear as if it's the hosting company's fault, when it isn't. Those number could also be for just one domain or one server. Everyone, please contact your hosting company for more accurate details. If there really are problems, your hosting company will appreciate the feedback.

Having a similar problem this company is incredibly unprofessional. They have my domain name hostage and won't unlock my account despite my constant attempt at paying a chargeback fee. I just want my domain name to be transferred else where and cancel my account..

Justhost are a bunch of crooks
I bought two years of hosting from justhost, and this is the first time I've ever bought something online and been ripped off so shamelessly.
Within 4 days there was a problem with the site due to the resource limit, that's understandable and I asked for a refund since it turned out not to be a suitable hosting solution for the site. BUT two months later I'm yet to be refunded. Despite the promise of an 'anytime refund'.
Their refund department, after a little bit of negotiating agreed on an appropriate figure. However, that's as far as it got. When I wrote to confirm I'd like the refund, they sent some random automated reply that was totally irrelevant to the situation. I asked twice more, waiting patiently between mails. They are definitely ignoring me.
Furthermore I've been locked out of the control panel (they appear to have changed my password), so I have no hosting now either.
Every step of the way they try to sell you something, they are very slick at making sales, and it seems they use the even more ruthless tactics to profit from departing customers.
Unfortunately because I paid with PayPal and the 45 days within which I can dispute has elapsed. It's horrible when a company makes you jump through hoops to get your money back, but even worse when after all that, they pocket your money, add you to some 'ignore this customer' list, and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it.
At the end of the day, it is among the cheapest hosting you can get. But these people are crooks. I've seen reviews that the exact same farcical things have happened to other people. Only use this company if you are desperate. If you can afford it, go with a half decent and legitimate company.
Hosting companies I've hosted within include, BlueHost, Hostgator, Lunarpages, openmindhosting, KnownHost, ServerLoft. I definitely recommend all those companies, BlueHost and Hostgator offer good cheap hosting packages.
In case anyone is interested, here's a transcript of my conversation with their refund department:
Dear Sir/Madam,
Sorry to bother you once more, but I've still not been refunded, and after waiting a few days justhost haven't even replied.
I'm not sure if the last technician was following the conversation but I have been offered a $50.80 refund by Addie Saber (see below). This is because the site was only hosted 4 days, even though two months have elapsed since, the site hadn't been online at all during that time, so it was agreed justhost would waive the hosting charge. There was a problem with the hosting, it just wasn't the right fit for my site (we needed more resources, and within 4 days it was exceeding what this hosting package allowed).
I accept this refund.
If it helps speed things up, here are details of my payment:

Justhost are the worst hosting company in the world. They are cheats, they lie about everything. If your account gets hacked, they will never accept responsibility. They are just the worst in the industry. Please stay away from their scam-ridden offers
JustHost.com refuses to give refunds
I used JustHost for a few months, and there was not one single month where the payment went smoothly. Their end goal was to get a credit card on file. At first I paid with PayPal, but JustHost 'lost' the money and my site was taken down for non-payment. I was asked to set up a PayPal subscription instead, but they failed to charge it and took my site down for non-payment. Then I was told that PayPal was unreliable and to enter a credit card. After failing to charge this properly two months in a row, my site was again taken down. I decided to find another host. I was told by JustHost that I could not get back into my control panel to get the latest backups of my database unless I paid $150 to be moved to a dedicated server. I'm not kidding -- I have the emails. I refused and after five hours of escalating, I was given access to my files and database again for one hour. In this time, my credit card was successfully charged for another month of hosting despite me saying multiple times to their billing dept. that I was canceling my account. While being reassured that I would get some of this money back, pro-rated for the 80% of the month I wasn't using, I changed my credit card information in my profile. There is no way to DELETE a card, so I changed the number, expiration date, and security code to fake numbers and expired dates. I had no trust that JustHost would not continue to charge me. Turns out I was right, as 15 days later I was charged for another month's service. I had no access to their servers, I had emails from billing insisting my account was canceled and my first refund was on its way, and I had apologies from support for the attempted extortion. No matter, they billed me anyway. And what they billed was the OLD credit card data, not the revised data I had entered! JustHost not only 'accidentally' charges you a few times extra, but they save old credit card data and try those accounts if the current one entered doesn't work. I ended up with an NSF fee since I was expecting a refund, not a charge. JustHost refused to cover that $30, of course. I have since received a refund for one month but not the other, and I have absolutely no way to stop them charging me again, short of closing my bank account. JustHost repeated multiple stupid errors, charged me money for services they admit I canceled long ago, proved that they save and use credit card info you try to delete, and their customer service never says anything except 'we're sorry, that has been fixed' even though you always find out later it's NOT fixed. I have dealt with most big hosting companies at one time or another, and JustHost is by far the worst. The only reason they're a 'player' right now is because they let people pay month-to-month instead of requiring a multi-month signup -- there's no initial outlay to get hosting. It is NOT worth it, though. Check Google for other reviews of JustHost -- you will find many more people with stories like mine.
Justhost.com : Ha ha ha, Anytime Money Back Guarantee
Main Line and James Grierson requires 4 digits of my card ., shame
This is the 5th dayes when I paid 130 us dollar to justhost.com for a, but I get nothing., absolutely nothing
Is it a new way to plunder customers
Incompetence
I have been trying to renew my domain name for almost 2 weeks with this company. I cancelled my hosting services with them one year ago due to the fact that their staff can barely speak english and their level of service was poor. I did not switch domains because the hosting company I switched to did not offer that service. They now claim that they do not offer domain services without hosting and will not release my domain name so that I can register with another company which means my company website is down. If you have a billing question or issue... do not hold your breath. They will get back to you in a timely fashion, however, they will not resolve the issue in a timely fashion. I have contacted this company numerious times and its a merry-go-round. I would not referr them to anyone. They have sent me a total of four emails stating the same thing. Do not trust your business domain with this company.

I purchased 3 year web hosting service from Justhost.com, which was rated highly on some other website. But it turned out to be such a disaster! My domain name had to transfer from the previous host to the new one but Justhost.com was helpful at all. They just delayed the process of transfer. As a result, I lost £113, without receiving any service what so ever and they don't refund either, which they initially candidly promised! Such a lier. If you don't want to experience what I experienced with Justhost.com, I'm sure you know what you shouldn't do!
Justhost.com – AVOID AT ALL COSTS
On the 22nd May 2017 I received an email to advise I was being upgraded with all associated domains.
Within 24hrs I had been moved from a UK server which had been OK, not brilliant but no major issues.
The moment they pushed me to a server in Utah in the USA with no real notice or options I was taken offline because my sites were being hacked and used for phishing. For the last two weeks I have had to suffer the same daily process, I check all sites, I speak to Terms of Service which is -7 hours so I have to wait until lunchtime before even speaking to someone and finally after a few more hours and several calls my sites are back on line.
That is until the next day and the process starts again, they have destroyed my client base, all ratings, rankings and credibility and all they seem to be interested in is getting you to answer the single customer service question at the end of the call that asks you if you would recommend them? God are they so stupid!
I am absolutely blown away by the actions, attitude and chaos they caused, I am leaving ASAP, just got to migrate 50 sites out and I am gone forever and my task is to find and fill as many of these forums, blogs and sites as I can to warn people about the Justhost bunch of wasters.
Please pay a bit more or do some serious reading but DO NOT TRUST Justhost.Com
They have cost me a fortune is time, loss of earnings, lost clients, compensation, legal action threats and so on.
same thing happened to me, have hosted with them for nearly 3 years, I was hacked the day they moved over to a new server which has caused me a serious issue, bad report from google, loss of ratings etc, so far they won't admit that they caused it, if they don't respond is there anyway of taking any action in the U.S, maybe you can email me or vica versa with this issue
Domain holding
I'm complaining about JustHost.com providers. I've bought a domain www.Vaynahi.com on tmdhosting about 2 years ago and moved it to just host after a while, then after about 2 weeks I moved to www.one.com but left the domain on justhost.com. So the justhost.com directed my nameservers to one.com and I was using my website in that way. Now the domain seems to be recently expired and my webspace on one.com doesn't work as the domain itself was on justhost and they stopped directing the nameservers to one.com. When I contacted the Justhost they ask me £60 to renew the domain. The price £60 is too much for just renewing the domain without any hosting space so I didn't agree with them. They are sill arguing that I first need to pay the £60 to be able to renew it or to move it to another provider. As all domains are at roughly £10 per year I dont want to pay them that money and I think they are just trying to make money thinking that I don't understand them.
I want to get any help from anywhere if it is possible please.
Many thanks
Rustam Takbulaev.

Just Host Ltd
Basically, around April 15, 2010, I called Just Host (www.justhost.com) and let them know that I wanted to switch from HostGator to a Just Host Reseller Account. I told them that I wanted to offer Unlimited bandwidth and storage to my dozen clients but when I signed up for HostGator's Reseller Program, I found that I could not offer Unlimited bandwidth or storage.
When talking with Just Host, I was very clear that I wanted to offer Unlimited bandwidth and storage because clients expect Unlimited bandwidth and storage since companies like Just Host, HostGator and FatCow offer it themselves. I also explained that none of my clients even had a site using more than 1gb of storage and even less bandwidth.
The Just Host Sales Rep that I spoke with said that I could offer packages with Unlimited storage and bandwidth and that I would simply have to monitor my Reseller Account to make sure that my overall Reseller Account limits were not exceeded. If they were to come close, I would have to upgrade to another Reseller Package.
I signed up for the Silver Reseller Package with 75gb of storage and 600gb of bandwidth.
Everything was great from that day to until about three days ago when I tried to set up a new client's site. The system simply told me that I didn't have enough space even though I am only using about 5gb of storage and 2gb of bandwidth. Basically, Just Host changed the policy on my Reseller Account.
Now, they claim that it was always their policy to limit the amount of space and bandwidth that I can allocate to my users. But there are several problems with this and which I have asked them questions without receiving an answer.
First of all, their Sales Rep said otherwise. If it's not their policy, how come she said it was?
Second, and even more importantly, how was I able to I set up an "Unlimited" package on my account that offered unlimited bandwidth and storage on April 15th? If the system was always set up to limit my account allocations, how come I was able to set up this package? I have asked this question about six times and never gotten an answer.
Third, and just as important as the second point, how was I able to set up eight unlimited accounts on the system within the first five days? Not only have I asked this question about six times and never received an answer but I also gave them proof. I sent them the system emails that Just Host automatically generates when a new account is created (see them below).
Another part of this whole problem is that it seems that it's impossible to deal with just one support person or supervisor. Further complicating things, it also seems that the most recent person to deal with me checks the notes of what I have already said to other reps or supervisors. So they never fully understand what I'm talking about.
All I want is for Just Host to live up to its original agreement and reset my account to the way it was in the first place.
On Sept 11th, Just Host corrected my account and I posted this update on [redacted]:
"I am very happy to announce that Just Host has finally agreed to set my account back to the way it originally was so that I can give my clients Unlimited bandwidth and storage. Plus, they are agreeing to live up to their original agreement and allow me to upgrade my account as needed. Thank you Just Host for doing the right thing. You are again at the top of my web hosting list!"
But then not long later, they changed my account back to the wrong way which I was originally complaining about. So I sent them an email about it and they responded with this email:
===========
Hi Ed,
Thankyou for your email.
I remember this ticket and that we reverted it back for you last time free of charge. However, the fact still remains that to get the platinum account features you should pay for the platinum account. I relaise that you have had this free of charge before but you shouldnt have and the system seems to be recognising this and converting it back to the plan you have paid for.
If you wish to upgrade then please letm eknow but you will need to pay to do so.
Kind Regards,
-- Emma Emma Robson Billing Representative www.justhost.com

I read their terms of service, they are good at trapping people. I started my web design business because I did contract web design for large companies in the shadows and see all the things they do to save cost. You should see the many titles employees have at some of these companies, its amazing. Sorry for your loss, did you ever get a site designed and developed or are you still waiting like so many others?
Stay away
I was purchasing ad-on domain from 'Justhost.com', a web-host company, but their software cut off suddenly, when the software went back on, they had already registered the unfinished domain name and charged me on the charge card they had on record. I asked for refund on this incomplete wrong domain name which I could not use, they refused and referred me to the 'Agreement'. Every explanation by my emails received the same "We don't refund" answer despite the fact that I pointed it out to justhost that the agreement did not specify that customer were required to pay for justhost's software problem. Justhost never responded to the software problem, they kept referring to the agreement alone. Slick sly and arrogant move ! ! I finally informed them that they had to stop acting like robots, they then sent me a website title where black-listed consumers are reported, they planned to report me to this website ! ! ! ! ! !
I then reported the matter to Better Business Bureau. BBB then sent me a copy of justhost's reply to say that they would not give refund ! But this answer had nothing to address my complaint, and BBB asked me if that were satisfactory, if not, I should rebut in a week or else the matter will not finished. There we have two sets of robots instead of the original one ! BBB should have asked justhost to respond to the complaint, no use BBB sending me the same answer that justhost already sent to me a thousand times which had nothing to do with the complaint ! BBB at least should ask justhost : "What about your software problem that you never addressed ?"
Takes money then runs
I paid Justhost.com $71.00 via paypal to host my new website. My paypal account was charges and I never received notification concern the listing procedure. When I contacted them I was given the runaround about transferring me to several departments all saying they can not communicate by phone claiming breach of security. However the also acknowledge the did not have my email file on file so when I emailed them as I was asked to do. I only got an email back from them saying they can not find my account. No such email. I called again and was hung up on several times. I spoke to Tony in support and he very rude and hung up like the rest. I called paypal and filed a dispute. Shortly after the dispute was filed. I received call from Sam in sales saying if I cancel the dispute they will set my account up. I asked that he refund my money and I would start the process all over. Because if I cancelled the dispute I could not open it again. He refused and here I am. These people are not to be trusted in my books. Should you decide to use them the bbb Better Business Bureau first. There's a lot of complaints there.
I paid Justhost.com $130 via Visa Card, they recive amount witout any problem . But nothink work, , they demand more information but they did not say what !

Obligation and Right
Horrible WebHosting Provider
JustHost.com is without a doubt the largest waste of time and fraud I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Their entire Ad structure of their services are FALSE and good luck getting your money back.
I canceled my account within the first five hours, as four hours and forty minutes were spent on the phone with them attempting to get the website template they provided (as a temporary - "Site Under Construction" page) up and running.
I used their template creator, after I had to get them to grant me access with the User ID and Password they provided in their welcome email. In other words, the User ID and Password Just Host provided me, did not work on their own site. And, their template creator crashed multiple times.
Finally, after getting the template creator to complete a one page upload with only text and no graphics, videos, images, etc. - my website did not load upon attempting to view it in three different browsers and on two different computers (a Mac and PC).
Their support team is a joke and useless, and that is if you can even get them on the phone. I went through person after person after person and got no where. So, in the end I canceled my service and requested a full refund; which I only have gotten half back.
Today I received an email from their Billing department expressing their willingness and delight in providing quality customer service and to contact them any time should I have any questions; HOWEVER the remaining refund amount will not be granted to me.
Bravo JustHost! That is a great business model in providing quality customer service! Keep half of your unhappy customer's money in the name of policy. Um, yeah - way to go there.
DO NOT USE JustHost.com for anything. Unless, you have a morbid desire to go through the tenth layer of Hell in dealing with people who enjoy taking your money and not caring about your frustration in using their terrible product/service.
I hope the management of this hack firm has a herd of elephants run over them and that they are infected with every form of disease known to man.

Deceptive Advertising & Unathorized Charges
I signed up for a simple website with JustHost.com because they advertise Free Instant Set-Up and NO HIDDEN FEES. I worked on my site for 3 days and never could make sense out of their setup features. Never added any services. I got fed-up with it after 4 days and cancelled my agreement with them. That same day they charged my account for a total of $61.54. I wrote them since they also advertise a "Cancel Anytime".
What a joke! First of all: I had to have the original Welcome Letter in order to start the refund process. I keep everything, so I had that. They had charged me for "Faster Server". Now, why in the hell would I order a "Faster Server" when I couldn't even build a website?
After their "NON-REFUNDABLE fees were deducted I got $7.95 refunded.
Evidently they have their web building set-up whereby you can add more services without even knowing it.
Stay away from JUSTHOST.COM. THEY ARE A RIPOFF!

I was promised a refund on an expensive overcharge. Even got an email from their bookkeeping department's "Karla Track". That was on November 4, 2010. It's now December 23rd and still haven't gotten promised refund. When I call they hang up. This company should be shut down by the attorney general's office where they operate. Thieves!

Server is always down,
I am in New Zealand. Since I signed up with Justhost, the server is always down.I couldn't visit my website and cpanel for many times. Each time I reported problems to their helpdesk, I couldnt get prompt reply. The fault need be fixed for long time.
Today it s not been working for 18 hours.
I just wonder if there is someone else here has same problem as me with justhost. Its really a nightmare for me with justhost.
can you help me with that?

My account was migrated from eHost to JustHost (due to company merger/takeover or something like that). Upon migration, I am unable to access the cPanel. I have called in repeatedly, talked to support for hours, only to find out that the support ticket just said "login issues" and was closed as resolved. However, 4 days later, the problem still exists! Support is supposedly working on it, as it supposedly effects anyone migrated from eHost. You'd think it would be a high priority? I'm hoping they will get things back up soon - as I can't work on the site. Site down for 4 days...not acceptable. My first experience with JustHost/BlueHost so far, ... not good. What is unfortunately is it appears that things like this happen with JustHost all the time, and have been happening for years. I'm not happy that my vendor was "taken over" by JustHost. Come on Just Host - prove me wrong and fix this quickly.
Im looking on here because we host 10 sites on just host and again they are down and I cannot get my mails and i cannot even contact Just host because the whole thing seems to have crashed!
I have more than 60 website hosted here. I choose justhost because it's cheap price. Buy now my site is often down. Not only their price is cheap their support is also cheap. There chat support is worst. I strongly recommend not to use justhost.
I hosted my 13 websites @justhost, same like User_of_justhost_server, their server down since 2nd May and still down until i write this reviews, they said that their maintenance progress have reach 70% but after 12 hours left, there's no new progress, its impact to my business :(, I'm very dissapointed with justhost...
Today 2nd may of 2012 for last 2 hours my website also down.. with justhost.. they informed after knocking to them over live chat. it will take 2 hour to solve the problem.
after coming in this forum, some one said its taking 2 days already... in previous days...
i am afraid . if justhost will not recover within 2 hour i will lost my hosting reputation totally, where as its already scratched... for last few hours... :(
just found the site I have hosted at just-host is down again http://www.squarerain.com been down twice now in the last month " that I have noticed" could have happened a few more times for all I know. Also I have my blog at http://www.markdaynes.com I know when its a hosing problem because I can check both these site to cross ref.
I think the problem is because they offer unlimited hosting plans and they just take on too much business at any one time.
Are there no commercially minded folk at Just Host? Having a web site go down in this day and age for any more than the shortest period is unacceptable. For the web owner emails are potentially delayed or worst lost and potential customers visiting the site get left with the impression that the company behind the site have gone burst!
Just host are stateside and I notice that many of the comments are from folk in other parts of the world. Surely an intelligent way of organising themselves at justhost would be to group sites on servers by their time zone... for example all GMT + 0, 1 & 2 on one server, all GMT + 3, 4 & 5 on another ect. This would mean that when they have planned maintenance, it can be scheduled for the early hours of the morning for those specific times zones. When something goes wrong as it invariably does, they would then have a bit of a window to sort the fix. My guess is that they currently schedule maintenance for the early hours, but early house in the time zone in which they are located (when you live in and work in the world's biggest economy, it's difficult to understand that anything else exists!).
I know that the above solution wouldn't solve the problem of international traffic for sites, but it would limit the impact.
I just buyed a reseller account and I'm developing the site and in 2 months every time I go to work online I can work for the first two hours then it goes all off.
Last time they stated that it was my fauls as I failed password three times so server firewall blocked me... lies and lies.
I send them the screenshot of cmd window where was clear that their server was not responding to a single ping.
By the time I'm writing this, everything is down again and they do not respond to the email sent an hour ago.
If you think hosting support is bad, don't try reseller support.
I must move from this guys soon
I host my site, http://www.aircraftmechanicsalary.net, with JustHost and it has been down twice in a 24 hour period. Never noticed any problems until now, but until now I hadn't uploaded my files. I uploaded my site at around 3 in the morning, did a few tweaks for around an hour. This is kind of funny: As soon as I was finished, I leaned back in my chair with a sigh of satisfaction, and then clicked to just look at my work. "can’t open the page “http://aircraftmechanicsalary.net/about.php” because the server where this page is located isn’t responding."
Yep. Thanks JustHost. Now that was around 4 in the morning. Around an hour later the server seemed to be working fine. Now it's 4 in the afternoon - Site down again - Customer Service says everything will be good in an hour "permanently"...
I switched some sites to Just Host a year ago, been down a few times but now 5th Arpil 2011, we have been down for about 36 hours. I called and was fobbed off with a lame excuse as I could access the cpanel still, put the problem in writing they said. Then I checked some unrelated sites also hosted with JustHost; some where also "off line" and others were fine!
I then emailed and stated that my problem was more widespread than just one site, I was then sent a stupid link to anoymouse.org stating that my site was live... a quick test around the world proved that wrong and sent them screen shots and emails from the various site monitoring services that notify me when my site goes off line. The sort of came clean and stated that they had a sever issue and that it will soon be fixed, that was 24 hours ago.
This is extremely unprofessional and I have NOT had any response from the for 24 hours after many emails, there requested communication medium, this sucks, all companied have problems, the good ones get onto the front foot and manage the clients and come out stronger for it, remaining silent is NOT and acceptable response.
Thank you
Hosting Sucks
Justhosh.com Sucks and Fraud.
I have been with then for over 3 months and first the issue is the server keeps going down and then the name server has allways issues with domains and keeps not responding. Few weeks back all the domains go hacked and no response from justhost.com and just today I came to my homepage and went to a landing page and when I asked why, they told me that its a hard drive issue. Lost all my emails and now lost all my content. One of the worst hosting company

Rip off, webUNhosting
I am SO angry and frustrated with this company. I cannot begin to describe their incompetence and scamming. I signed up for domain name registration, 6 months hosting + domain privacy. That was beginning of June, as of yet my site still doesn't work.
I have had over 30 emails from support with the most ridiculous and downright stupid advice I have ever had, technical experts my foot. All these people do is search on google and send you a link! Keep telling me my ftp isn't set up correctly, which it is, in fact ftp works fine. Then it was that my web pages weren't uploaded to my public_html directory, yes they are, I sent them proof of that. However site STILL wont work.
The outsourced support is frustrating. These people DO NOT know what they are doing. I for one am getting really fed up with everything being outsourced to India. They are not technical experts, they can't even speak English very well. When I pay for a service with what I believe is a UK company I expect them to at least speak my language.
As for a refund, I have requested a cancellation 4 times and cannot get a response. They just keep emailing back "tell us your problem and we will help you", it's the exact same problem, it hasn't changed then they send back the exact same stupid response "here is a link on how to set up ftp host", arrrrgggggghhh!

Can't get a refund
I signed up with JustHost.com since the monthly fee was reasonable. On the page where you key in your payment information a box pops up and hides the total you are being billed for. You must hit submit at this point and then you realize you got charged for a 3 year period instead of 1 month.
I then requested a refund and they refused to refund all my money. I called them and the english was terrible (outsource). They charged me a $20 fee, refused to refund $48 for search engine application and took them 4 days to finally get me the correct information to even process my refund.
It's a scam. I would never use this company again.

Justhost.com (more like justDONThost.com) is a horrible company. They provide crappy service, horrible customer service that lies to you, and like our poor friend up there, are money grubbing scam artists.
My gaming group's website is unfortunately hosted with justhost.com. A few weeks ago our site went down. We called em up to find out what was wrong and they gave us the standard "we're working on it" response. Then they decided to tell us that all of our data was lost. Now they've decided to tell us that it was because of a hard drive failure. Have you ever heard of such a bull shiz excuse!? What webhost in their right mind doesn't have redundant systems. Unless that entire server gets blown to hell, the data is not lost. AND even IF that server is blown away, there should be back ups of all their servers that they can refer to and spin up at any one time. So despite what they said, I highly doubt that it was because of a "hard drive failure."
There have been many vulnerabilities in the hosting industry as of late. Major notable ones are the BIND exploit, as well as the XSS vulnerability with rubyonrails. My best guess is that these issues were not handled as promptly as they should have been. Most quality webhosts, including Media Temple, Startlogic, and others, had their implementations patched within 24 hours of the vulnerability being discovered. Due to the lack of brains that justhost.com seems to have, I highly suspect that they neglected to patch anything until the servers were already hacked. In my opinion, I think it was the BIND exploit, as it was used to gain root access on servers.
SO with all that being said, DO NOT USE JUST(dont)HOST.COM! I highly recommend the previously mentioned hosts Media Temple and Startlogic. Media Temple is an industry leading cluster host. Unlike justhost.com, they can guarantee 99.9% up time or whatever it says on their site. Their client list alone is testament enough to their quality of service. No that list is not made up. Check it out for yourself. They even host the worlds largest tech blog, Techcrunch.com. Yes their price is a little steep but the quality that they provide you is unmatched. Startlogic is a budget site that I use to host my meaninless websites. its cheap and you get what you pay for.
The different between justhost.com and startlogic.com is when you pay startlogic.com you actually get service in return! Ive used both mediatemple.com and startlogic.com and can easily say that mediatemple.com is far better. The speed alone is worth the money. When working on web pages i want to seem y changes imideately. I can push the file tothe server and before you can even get to your browser window, the file is most likely uploaded (depending on whether you have a fast internet connection). startlogic.com is ok in that area, the speed isnt as great as it could be but hey, its cheap and its still better than no website at all!
Support and Refund- False Advertizing
Justhost.com Advertizes a money back guarentee however one day setting up our new web site we had to contact theeir support team. We found that the folks could barely speak english. The were the most rude people I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. When I told the person that was on the phone with me I didn't care for his treatment of me and attitude .The support team told me if I didn't like there method you can cancel and hung up.
We I tried to cancel we were told by Kathy Ovens Billing Representive that there would be a $20.00 non refundable charge. We aggreed that they may with hold the $20.00
When the refund statement came back it was $71.00 not $20.00. These people are scam artist - It cost me $71.00 for 8 hrs .

I had justhost for about 10 months, I added another site with them and wanted to cancel my original site (The one for 10 months) Well, It is taking them FOREVER for them to get the refund to me. I still haven't got it. Every time I email them I get some silly form letter explaining how to cancel my site. I DID THAT! and still get that same email form from them. I called at least 10 times and spoke to them about it. They just keep telling me that the refund dept will be in touch with me Yeah, right...It hasn't happened.

Terrible experience
I signed up with Just Host to host my web site. They have outsourced their support group to India the staff there are very rude and very very unhelpful. I signed up for the priority e mail service and have gotten very few answers to my questions and when they did answer it was very vague and very unhelpful. I paid to get advertising that would put my web site on Goggle and several other places then was told it could take up to three months before it was visible while their web site says it would be instant. I had to go to Microsoft Publisher 2007 support group to get my site hosted because the staff at Just Host would not assist me in getting it set up. I have to say I've never been so disappointed in a service before I'm very frustrated with these people... I asked someone to call me on the phone and they would not even answer the e mail.

the servers is down from 3 days
and they told me soon will fix
and nothing happend
and i told them i want my files and they told me no we cant
now i lose my files and data because of justhost.com
We filled out the papers to have ownership transfered including notarized signatures & copy of a TDL and they still refuse to give us access to the account. They say it belongs to the person who opened/paid to open the account even though we did all the paper work to transfer it. They said we need to to either show we paid the original opening amount or the last renewal amount or go to amall claims court. This is after we did all thier paperwork to transfer ownership to us. They say they will not give us access to an account that was transferred to our name. They say we have to get access from the previous owner. This is ridiculous! The people sound like they are a 1st grader reading off something & just just keep repeating it over and over. They absolutely sound like idiots to me. I am at my wits end!
Justhost.Com is a fraud company, they take money but they do not provide service
Never buy hosting from justhost.com
I left justhost for the very same reason as most of the complaints above, they are the most ridiculous company I have ever come across. But now I have an even greater complaint, because this is simply criminal, what they have done. As I said, I was with them for a few years, and during that time I set up a few client's websites, also regestering their names with justhost. After I left them, and took ALL my sites to another company, some of the domain names, although pointing to the new companies servers, were still registered with justhost. Even after I left them, I still kept my account open, paying my monthly fee, just so that I could gradually transfer over everything. Only last month did I decide to close my account with them. Fine, now everything should run smoothly - WRONG. The only two domains I still have registered with them, they changed the nameservers back to their own ns1 & ns2, which means two of my websites are not accessible. I have written an email to them requesting they change it back to the one they've been pointing to for about a year, and they have just ignored me. Don't know who to contact now to get this resolved. Meantime my two good customer's are fuming at me because their popular website is not being shown to their customers. This is CRIMINAL and there should be something that can be done legally about this.
Just Host is refusing the 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee, they laughed on the phone when I asked for the refund stating we always win disputes so don't bother even tiring to make us live up to what we sated on the site
And i have currently been on hold speaking with a customer service agent for 45mins and counting.. still on the phone getting more pissed off.. I blame myself for changing to justhost
For me, Justhost is the worst hosting company ever. I have been complaining about the same issue now for 4 days, I even explained to them that it is costing my company money but still the agents don't seem bothered. If someone asks me, i'll say never choose justhost.
Staff playing dumb. Charging you for stuff you never asked for, won't you delete stuff you don'on't need. Stay awayneed, will put stuff
To ERIC
who paid for instant SEO, I feel your situation, however some search into how SEO works would have made you aware that the process is not instant, and the three months they stated to you is still too short, unless you're paying for PPC ads which can cost more than it's worth at the end. SEO can easily take a year just to be on the first 3 pages (legitimately).
There are many websites that sell instant SEO packages for dirt cheap, but when Google or Bing find out (and they will), you're website is considered as SPAM or Junk. Ping-o-matic is one of the sites these types of companies use to spam all the search engines.
As for hosting, we've had our share of shady servers. We currently use GoDaddy because we got a good discount at the time, but Hostgator seems to be the best.

Rude is beyond description! These people cannot understand english, nor do they care how idiotic their billing system is. Even after the first, TWENTY times you email them, they still keep sending their stupid, pointless, and ineffective replies over and over again. I concur, they are hopeless and I left that company last year. They continue to email me and harass me when I tell them they are idiots and that I am not a customer and haven't been for a long time. Simply the worst!
