Broccoli almond salad
King Soopers at 30th St. and Arapahoe, Boulder, Colorado.
This morning I was in a hurry and purchased Broccoli Almond Salad, hoping to eat healthy food, as indicated by the name of the product. I learned the ingredients, only after I was handed the product. These include a whole host of things I do not want to eat: mayonnaise, soybean oil, corn syrup, egg yolk, sour cream, cream, and so on. Really! I'm sure there are a million ways to make a broccoli almond salad in a more healthful fashion. If you are going to incorporate such items with healthful foods like broccoli and almonds, please make it possible to learn this in advance. In addition, make it easy to find the healthful foods with the large lettering.
Disappointed customer.
An employee/cashier
Omer of your king soopers in my neighborhood... I am always shopping there... This afternoon 9-15-17 as I was doing my monthly shopping one of your cashiers had only one customer that she was attending to and the cashier across from her had a long line so I was not sure if she was taking anymore customers so I asked her if she was open... Her response was im taking care of a customer so I went to the long line and I ask her again if she was open.. Her response was... You see my light on... And then watched the customer in an attitude as I was bothering her and she said some to the customer... I told the cashier I come here all the time and I have never been disrespectful to anyone that works their... Then she told the customer something about folks especially in this neighborhood thats how we are... We in this neighborhood are the ones who spend money at king sooper... And to come out at some that spend their money in the store that helps pay her is very disrespectful... I dont lnow her name as I was so upset I left my full shopping cart and walk out the store... She is a talk light skin african american woman with sort pf curly hair... I feel as if I dont want to shop at any king soopers... And I know I will not be at that one in a while or even ever again as I felt disrespected... Making comments to another customer about me... I have always been respectful to employees anywhere I go... Especially treated like this in your neighborhood... Very poor customer service... Especially in front of my 2 foster sons... I teach them to respect everyone no matter their status in life... I very offended by this behavior to me as a good customer at king soopers. Erica brathwaite/ disappointed customer
Harassed female employees while in management position
Michael Thompson formerly of King Soopers in Monument Colorado has a long history of flirting with all of the female employees while being a member of management. He would also buy certain employees bottles of wine as gifts. Michael would often cross the line with leaving with certain female employees in their vehicles for inappropriate work behavior. Michael Thompson left King Soopers for school cowardly before he was reported to the corporate office to look into grounds for termination. Stay away from Michael Thompson. He shouldn't be trusted in any form of management position.
I am Michael Thompson, and the complaint above was written by a former employee named Higinio Duran Jr. Unfortunately, I had to fire Higinio Duran Jr. for drug use. Since his firing he has been trying to attack my reputation. This has gone on for over two years. Unfortunately Mr. Duran seems to blame me for his blatant drug addiction problems. Hopefully he can get control and come out the better for it. To Mr. Duran, I hope you find peace at some point, it can't be healthy to hold onto this for such a long time.
A total fake coverup. Anyone that has tenure at King Soopers can vouch that Michael Thompson was very unethical while working there. Constantly buying female employees gifts all while he was in a relationship.
Michael is deflecting to coverup his womanizing while in a supervisor role. The review above is 100% true. I am a current and tenured employee of King Soopers.
Shut up junkie. Tenured? You're not a college professor. You work at a supermarket.
Dogs in store.
I take my mom shopping at the king soopers on 9th Corona weekly.
Today 8-07-17 there were two women talking as I walked by there is a med to large dog laying at their feet . Are there no rules against bringing a dog to the food store..This was not a service dog. This was a dog not a child, what gives? I understand that times has changed and some people think
dogs are kids or they deserve to take their animals where ever they go but animals do carry dirt and fleas and who knows what with them .
Ben and jerry's ice cream
https://www.organicconsumers.org/press/ben-jerry%E2%80%99s-ice-cream-tests-positive-roundup-herbicide-ingredient-glyphosate
Ben and Jerrys has been found to have Glyphosate in their ice cream (most flavors) and should not be displayed or sold in your stores till they clean up their act. I shop at the Leetsdale Ave store in Denver and there is not even a warning. Until they clean up their act you need to take it off the shelf or warn customers that the product contains a pesticide commonly known as Roundup. This is a poison.
Employment
This horrible company and store does not deserve your business or money. The management/supervisors are beyond rude, especially the store manager John Casados. If he were to talk to the customers like he talks to his untrained, unsupervised, disrespectful and unhelpful employees I am sure beyond a doubt that he would be facing a discrimination lawsuit. He is a pure Nazi who puts NO ONE else first, except himself. Why are employees not included in OUR VALUES: Integrity, Honesty, Respect, Inclusion, Diversity, Safety. As a former employee who was just fired within the first week because the schedule had been changed and was not told about the change here is a direct quote for new employees, "I know it can be tough as a new associate, you are going to have questions and that's okay. Your management team is here to answer any questions you may have." And yet when I asked a direct question about my schedule change to the Store Manager John Casados, I was told, "You can consider yourself separated from the company!" WOW! On the first day, within the first hour I had 6 different employees approach me and tell me to "get out while you can because the management is horrible and lacks communication". One of them was my direct supervisor Anthony (Day Grocery Supervisor). No wonder there is such an extremely high turnover of employees at this store and customers are not getting the service they pay good money for. I implore any and all who consider to grace this place with their presence to please give your business elsewhere. I also encourage the company to contact me to learn the truth about Store #083, if they truly want to hear it, which I highly doubt.
Self checkout
My Soopers Loyalty Card is on my I Phone. The clerk had always been able to scan it for me so I could check out my groceries. However with the last change or "upgrade" to the registers it can no longer be scanned so the clerk has to check me out. It is extremely annoying that if I come in for a few items I have to wait in line now for a clerk to check me out.
Please know that I am 60 years old and have been a King Soopers customer all of my life (my parents shopped at King Soopers) because it is far superior to other grocers.
PLEASE FIX THIS GLITCH SO EVERYONE WITH CURRENT TECHNOLOGY CAN CHECK OUT AT THE SELF CHECKOUT AREA.
Thank you.
Customer service or were they sell cigarettes
So I want to buy flowers at King supers for full price because I did not have a king supers card and when I came home I realize this was not the right one because it was for my aunts birthday so I went back and returned it or I thought because when I got there they only gave me $10 back when it was a $15 flower and they said it was store policy to give you back the sale price but I purchased it for full price and the service there was horrible they were so mean so I asked him to show me their policy and they search for quite a while and they could not find it I even showed them my credit card information of my purchases and they start it was fake or not believe me so after about 30 minutes they gave me back my full refund just to make me shut up about it they're actually was so horrible it was nothing like any store I've ever been to I even asked them what do you want to lose a customer for just five dollars and they said yes right in my face I have been shopping at his bursar five years forever since I've got j here from China and I spent a lot a lot of money at the King supers I am so upset about this service not in those five years have you ever met anyone in can supers this route and I have done or went to customer service or they sell cigarettes lots of times also the person that was help me claimed to be a manager and when I ask him for the store manager he kept saying that so he is not here and I asked about it will you be here tomorrow he said I don't know
Service while at checkout
I frequent this establishment twice a week, I have 2 kids ages 8 and 2- I always come mid morning way before it gets super busy and this is the fourth time I've checked out having to struggling to have the bag boy bag my groceries, I believe he is mentally handicapped and it's always the south Boulder location. Today we were fully checked
Out and he was reading my grocery labels! I had to get
My 8 year old to bag because I don't have and extra hand while holding my 2 year old so she's not running everywhere! I'm very understand and compassionate with individuals whom are dealing with mental challenges however maybe the organization can revaluate the position they've employed him, his talent maybe best suited for a different position.
Discrimination
All the managers, specially the white skinny one at the King Soopers located at Florida and Sheridan in Denver CO disicriminate my whole family and I. Every time we walk in the store the white manager sends other employees to check what we are doing, at the moment of checkout the managers yell at us, talk to us in a mean/mad voice, & deny us from any sales that are going on . We were customers of this store for approximately 15 years . If this happens one more time I will report photos/videos of them discriminating against us, so that this can stop . Either change the managers of the store or talk to them.
Customer service
I have been shopping the store in Denver located at Leetsdale Drive and Monaco Parkway for over 27 years. In that time I can count on one hand the number of complaints I have had... however, this time I will not go back. I will shop the store at Colorado Blvd and Yale Ave but it is not as convenient and I will shop Kings less than usual.
Step One: I checked out my purchases for over $168.00 however there was something I asked if they could help me find. Solarcaine. They did find it finally but I had ti have it rung up as I was done for the first purchase. It was an additional $8 plus change and i completed that purchase.
Step Two: I had proceeded to a small area at the front that has chairs so I could sit and put away my card, text my husband I was on my way and get out my car keys.
I might mention here I am 74 years old and I use a cane.
Step Three: A woman came toward me and said some of my order didn't get checked out . Did I really want it? Well of course I did. I came to purchase milk for my grand daughter's lunch and dinner among other things.
I might mention here that my grand daughter was with me. She is 7 years old.
Step Four: The woman said well ok we'll go through the self checkout. I followed her there and she checked out my items. Among those items were two cans of Scrubbing Bubbles. I had given checker #1 my coupons for them. Of course they did not register as I hadn't purchased the items on the first ticket. They were $2 each coupons so I asked for the credit.
Step Five: The woman went to the original checker and got his coupon bag and began going through it for my coupons. By this time I was running out of patience..I should have been in my car driving home by now. I said.."What the hell...can you handle this? this is taking too long for a $4 credit".
Step Six: She said "I will not be spoken to that way and asked Ivan to take over. Yes I know Ivan he has been there forever and he knows me. She continues to flip through the coupon bag, Finally Ivan says " I can do it manually" and gave me the credit.
Instead of walking away the young woman kept coming back and telling me how incredibly rude I was and she didn't have to be cussed at etc etc.
After I was finally "released" and that is what it felt like having this woman a foot taller than me keep telling in front of my grand daughter how terrible I was... I saw the manager just then walking by. I called out to her.
I was in tears. Apparently no one told this woman that berating a customer was not a good thing. And in front of my grand daughter. Stephanie has offered to give me a credit for the additional items and walked me to my car. I appreciated her listening.
Honestly I couldn't imagine why it made me tear up or be so upset till we talked about it over dinner. I reran everything over and over in my head and could not understand till my grand daughter said " Grammy you didn;t do anything. She was a bully. At my school she would be in the office and made to apologize"
Perhaps she is right. I have never stood for being bullied in my life but this woman who is very tall kept looking down at me and saying I need to learn to not be rude ..and so on.
Credit or not.. I will not return to that store as long as I think I might run into that woman. I know me and I will walk up to her and give her the dressing down she so richly deserves for her behavior.
I was teaching customer service before she was born.
I'm done after 27 years. I will go to the store mentioned above as I have friends there as well and they are better stocked and obviously more accommodating. I know many people at the Leetsdale store and many I consider friends but I won't be seeing them any time soon.
I expect nothing to be done about this. I did want you to know that some of your newer people need more training in many areas.
Service/checkout/manager
Store Location: 4600 Leetsdale Dr. Denver, Colorado

Cashier: CHEC 501
My husband and I went shopping to buy some sausage, wine and cheese. I took my purse as I have the 2x fuel points coupon and gift card for payment (which my son's school receives 3%). At the self check out showed my ID for the wine I was purchasing. We were advised we were unable to buy the wine unless my husband could produce his ID.
I can understand a policy like this with young cashiers that may let some young kids buy alcohol they are not supposed to. So my husband asked to speak with the manager on duty that evening. Josh came over and advised that, that was your policy with no exceptions.
The managers job first and for most is to provide excellent customer service. We also assume they have the ability to make an education decision to best accomplish his role. Josh (the front end manager) was incapable of managing such a decision and therefore, not only upset a $1, 000 per month customer, but humiliated the customer in line.
When asked to speak with the store manager, we were advised by Josh that he was the only manager on duty. I would suggest if Josh is unable to make educated decisions, another manager should be available who is able to think outside the box and not frustrate and humiliate a customer who is in his 50's and only accompanying his wife who is purchasing the alcohol.
Lousy customer service.
I arrived to the cashier after I made line like any other costumer and tried to pay for my laundry detergent, Mr Quincy spend almost a minute reading the coupons before he told me he couldn't use them. They were for the right product, quantity and size, didnt exceed the limit of identical coupons and we're not expired...perhaps management can train the cashier's better on your coupon policy? After I asked him to cancel the items I then proceeded to ask for a raincheck for a different item, he gave me a horrible attitude! I had even taken a picture of the product tag to make it easy to the cashier but it wasn't enough. He asked me the oz of the item which I didn't know but he couldn't take 1 second to read the tag I was showing him on my phone as HE WAS ALREADY RINGING THE NEXT COSTUMER'S ITEMS as if I was not there. He then asked me to step aside and proceed to charge the next costumer BEFORE he wrote my raincheck. I asked when would this be re stocked and he said we re stoke every day but couponers come and empty everything every day too. He also told me to go shop elsewhere for that item.
I was going to buy 4 items only and because of Mr Quincy lack of knowledge about your coupon policy I was not able to buy anything.
I do hope this cashier gets better training and remembers that he is the face we costumers see when we go to the store and the kind of service he provides is what makes people come back or shop elsewhere.
Gas
I went to the gas station to fill my car with gas, I had 19.22 on my visa gift card. I was unable to pay the pump with that card. I went to the cashier he did not know how to make the transaction. As a result he kept swiping my card and he charged it over and over again and then it got declined because he charged it and told me it was unable to be processed. The cashier charged me and told me he couldn't figure it out so not only did the card get charged and no gas I had to then go and use another credit card to pay for my gas. The resolution I would like is at a minimum a check, cash, visa gift card, or store credit for 19.22 for my money back.
Buying a patio set
My husband and I have been looking at buying a patio set for a few weeks now. We finally decided to buy one that you've had on display for a while tonight and got a friend and his truck to come over and pick one up. We first went to the store closest to us, (100th and Wadsworth in Westminster CO) and they said "well the person that could help you with that already went home for the day, " which seemed ridiculous that nobody else could help us. We called the next store down the road (88th and Wadsworth) and the lady said "Sure, come on down and we can get that for you." Except when we got there, Same story, nobody could help because it was "mixed in with other stuff and we can't get it out" Seriously? At least make an attempt at a $400 sale. Does anyone competent leave at 6pm? Definitely going to shop elsewhere, you lost us on this one.
Returning an item
I had purchased a box of Kroger 12 hour cough relief at the store located on Cheyenne Mountain Blvd in Colorado Springs. I did not need the cough medicine as previously thought. I took the box back unopened when I went to do some shopping, to return it and get store credit. When I went to the customer service counter the lady working that evening was very rude. She demanded since I did not have a receipt that I produce the date it was purchased, what cash register I checked out on and who was the checker. I only wanted store credit as I do (or did) a lot of shopping at King Soopers. The way I was treated and her attitude toward me was disturbing. I now will not shop at King Soopers unless I must and have taken my business to Safeway and Albertsons. I have lived in the area of King Soopers on Cheyenne Mountain Blvd for over 15 years and have shopped there on a regular basis. You have lost a customer.
Bad management and self checkout employee (all new personnel)
This is the 2nd time in the last 7 days that I had to file a complaint due to bad management and bad employees during the night and weekend shift. Tonight I went to get in line to check out, a woman (I believe her ame was Tabitha, she was an African American about 5'1" short curled hair) approached me and told me to follow her to the self check out lane. She acted like she was going to check out my items for me, I stated that I can check out my own. Then a young Latina employee (approx 18-20 yrs old, long dark brown hair, approx 105 lbs..I do not know her name) that was obviously filling in for the caucasion female (tall red haired approximately 30 yrs old), who stepped away from her post immediately when I was directed to check myself out came and stood directly behind me. This young dark haired female lined herself up with my body, and watched every move that I made, I stopped what I was doing and turned around and asked her if there was anything wrong. She acted all flustered and stated that there was nothing wrong. Now she did not do this behavior to the Caucasian male next to me, until he started to complain about something, she then glanced over at him, but remained behind me. Now I just complained about 2 other employees there that was rude, and bagged my items incorrectly (putting meats with foods that can be contaminated). I did return just a few days ago, and had no problems when the female cashier checked me out. Now here we go again tonight. I went to Customer Service and asked to speak to the manager on duty, then came the same woman that told me to follow her to the self check out, I told her what the young female did, and that it is considered negative treatment, to stand directly behind someone and watch every movement that a customers does, it is considered as an act of hostility, or scrutiny, (even passive aggressive intimidation ), it is an act representing everything negative and NOT positive. The manager Brittany stated verbally the right things, but her facial expression and demeanor indicates that she really does not take this seriously. As soon as I arrived at my vehicle, another store employee hurries up behind me to take my basket, instead of giving me my space after complaining. Yes, I suppose that I am being singled out after complaining to Home office. I will again call home office, and will take it to the top if they keep singling me out for discrimination and harassment.
A cashier
Nick johnson, a cashier at store 87 is very rude. I work there too, and i've repeatedly told management about stuff he's said and done, and management has done nothing about it. Nick has a bad tone of voice, likes to brag about being a smartass, has said to another employee that they are a much better employee than myself, which hurt my feelings. He called a customer psychotic, he claimed the customer was his sister, but it doesn't matter who it is, you don't call somebody in a store psychotic even if it is your sister. Nick is not a good employee, and every time I bag for him, he goes to management and complains about me. Do something please.
Treatment of your employees and your new credit card machines
I will not be shopping at any Kroger stores in the future for 2 reasons. The first involves your policy regarding health insurance for your employees. I am a healthcare provider in a family practice clinic in Colorado and recently realized something very disturbing about your policy. I was seeing an employee who is not able to get insurance through you for 1 year because he is technically part time even though he works 38 hours per week. He told me that he is not allowed to be scheduled 40 hours per week because that would make him full time and therefore eligible for healthcare benefits sooner. This is a terrible policy for you to have. Your employees rely on you for health insurance, and it is not fair to deny them this over 2 hours. This is a Wal-Mart type policy that has earned them so much bad publicity and one of the reasons that I have not shopped there in years. I intend to post this information about you on Facebook as well to alert my friends and family to your greedy policies. Success is not just about your profit margins. It 's about how you treat your employees and this simply isn't right.
Another smaller issue for me, but really annoying, is that your new credit card machines do not allow me to run my combo debit/credit card as a credit card. You are the only chain that gives me this issue. I can run my card as credit at every other store that I have ever been to.
Terrible
I have to say that King Soopers was the worst company I have ever deal with. They were extremely rude and customer unfriendly. When I called their contact phone number they immediately put me on hold and then disconnected. I called again and the same thing happened.
When I finally reached them they replied rudely and said that I was put on hold because they were too busy and did not have time. What kind of service is that? I thought that customer service exists to deal with customers! Terrible service!
