LG fridge
I purchased an LG fridge from Leons 3 years ago with a 4 year diamond extended warranty. 3 weeks ago it stopped working. King and State was contacted and 5 days later they sent a tech over and he said the compressor needed changing and they would get it in a few days and he would be back in 2 weeks to repair it. Why so long. Now 3.5 weeks later and calling them by phone, email and chat no eta still. Like wtf :( then they called me and offered to credit me$655.59 towards a new fridge. the insane a replacement is minimum $2,300 minimum. i told em repairing would cost me nothing. so now still waiting on eta and they are not answering LG's calls to resolve this :(
Extended warranty
I purchased the dishwasher from The Brick, with extended warranty , and it is now having difficulties with its programming.
I have contacted the service department at The Brick countless times now and they continue to inform me that I need to reach out to warranty company King and state to deal with the problem at hand. I have tried to contact the company numerous times, to no avail. I have not received one phone call back, and there is never any answer when I attempt a call. This issue has now been going on for over 3 weeks and still no contact with The King and State.
I am now at a loss. My dishwasher does not function as it should, and The King and State company is of no assistance in the matter.
We purchased a Samsung television from The Brick in January 2020, purchasing a warranty for up to three years after purchase. The TV became defective in November 2022. Our calls to The Brick went unanswered and same for even trying to call King and State. I was able to get information in-store at The Brick how to submit a claim so I submitted it online. After about a week, I had no answer.
SOLUTION: I went to The Brick and insisted to speak to a manager. The employee serving the counter in due course wrote to a King and State manager. Within a day I had a technician in my home, and 3 working days later the TV had been repaired, with 80% new parts! VERY satisfied with the end result, but I needed to be very demanding at the outset.
Refrigerator
This company is the absolute worse their employees need to be coached. My senior parents bought a refrigerator from Leon’s in less than a year it broke down. After contacting king and state they had a technician come out to their home 4 days after the claim was submitted. He came to the home and said the compressor is gone and that he will have to order the parts and will be in touch within the next 3-5 business days. After the 5 business days passed no one contacted my parents we then had to reach out to king and state by telephone. The hold times to speak with someone ranged from 30 mins if you are lucky upwards to an hour. They said that the technician was waiting for parts to come in and will update us. The time frame given for the parts kept on changing on every phone calll interaction. The reps on the phone kept on telling me that I needed to understand that their technicians are busy when I asked who will understand that my parents live alone and my father is 87 years old and my mother is in her 70s they disconnected the call. On their website there’s no mention of their location or an alternate number to contact. We are going into 3 weeks now . I am planning to report them to the media channels and the BBB.
Desired outcome: To be compensated for time wasted and have this issue fixed and their employees on the phone needs to be coached on not hanging upOn their clients
Extended warranty
I purchased the 5 year extended warranty from Leon's when I purchased 4 appliances for a new house. 4 years into the warranty the control panel on the range broke, I filed a claim and a repair man came to fix the appliance. He couldn't repair it because the parts for the appliance were no longer available.
- First part of the scam: instead of replacing the appliance they offered a depreciated store credit of what they thought the appliance was worth. I was annoyed but accepted the store credit, they didn't explain anything about the credit so I thought it was basically like a gift card for Leon's (that was a wrong assumption).
- Second part of the scam: it's not real store credit that you can use at your discretion. It's time limited to 3 months (illegal for gift cards / store credit in Canada) but this wasn't disclosed to me. I was also told it could only be used at the Leon's store where I had purchased the appliance
- I moved before I was able to purchase a new appliance thinking I had store credit I could use at any Leon's and gave the equivalent cash value of the store credit to the buyers of my house, thinking that I could use it to buy other appliances that I would need like a real store credit, only to be informed that it expired and could only be used at the location where I purchased the appliance which was across the country
Needless to say this is a terrible warranty, never buy an extended warranty from Leon's it's not worth it.
Desired outcome: Real store credit at any Leon's for purchase of new appliance that doesn't expire equivalent to the amount offered
I purchased an LG fridge from Leon's 4 years ago with an extended warranty. Last week it stopped working. King and State was contacted last week and 3 days later a tech person contacted me and he said he needs to order the parts. It is second week and I am without a fridge. Does anyone care?
The technician did not get back to me yet. Why so long? It is an emergency! I threw all my food to the garbage! Does anyone care?
Don't buy this extended warranty! It is a scam! They took my money for the warranty and now there is no service provided. It is an emergency!
If I would not have this warranty, I would call any handyman and he would fix my fridge within 48 hours.
I truly regret to have this warranty! Never buy extended warranty from this company as no one wants to provided the service once your fridge breaks.
King and State warranty should be illegal. Paid $750 for kitchen appliance warranty. Fridge compressor stopped working. Took them 2 months just to come to the house to determine (something I spent 2 days on the phone with LG with and had previously determined before calling King and State. They send away for a new compressor and it takes weeks to get an appointment to come back and install. Appliance technician states compressor came from LG broken. Call King and State to find out when new appointment will be for new compressor and they say they aren't going to order a new one and offers $1000 credit to the brick for $3000 fridge.
No service on extended warranty
In 2018 I purchased a Samsung Washer at The Brick with 4 year extended warranty from King and State. In late October of 2021 my washer started to exhibit a problem here's what happened:
Dec 1 - technician came out to diagnose and ordered parts for a noisy spin cycle. I was advised that although the machine was making a noise I could still continue to use it.
Dec 7 - I contacted King and estate by web assistant to report that the spin cycle was no longer working and that the clothes were coming out sopping wet. I was told someone would get back to them to schedule an appointment within 72 hours
Dec 14 - I had not heard from King and State, so I made a follow up call, again outlining the new concern. I was told my issue would be escalated and that I would be contacted within 72 hours.
Dec 21 - Still no response, so sent an email to the customer service dept documenting the difficulty I was having getting a response.
Dec 22 - I was again told that the issue would be escalated. There was no acknowledgement of the new issue of sopping clothes
Jan 6 2022 - I sent a follow up email to King and State customer service outlining my frustations to date. My contact promised to follow up with their service provider and get back to me.
Jan 17 (today) - my contact at King and Estate did get back to me to advise that the earliest available appointment is March 2. To me this level of service, with no promise of a resolution to my problem (only a diagnosis) is completely unacceptable.
The warranty expressly states that only services rendered by a King and Estate approved technician will be covered by the warranty.
Desired outcome: Because the company cannot provide timely service I would like to source a local technician and have my expenses reimbursed under the warranty.
Extended warranty
King and State is worst ever. My extended warranty for appliances is through them and unfortunately I had a failure and needed it. Took days to get through to get a file number to start trying to schedule a repair. a couple weeks later when parts arrive they refuse to install same day, they refuse to install next day. The service company that ordered the parts promised to call me as soon as parts arrive but they did not. When I called them to beg for a tech to install before the long weekend they said they couldn't because they needed notice from King and State (via Transglobal). King and State said it was up to Transglobal. Transglobal said they told the service company to do it but the service company refused the job. Somebody is lying. So I had to wait 5 days for parts to be installed to fix my range. Now a month later and I pull it out to clean under it. I find parts and screws on the floor. trim and panels loose. Horribly botched repair. They use the cheapest absolute worst repairmen who cannot get any other work. Now I have to try and get them back to fix it right. The nightmare continues.
Fridge french door
Horrible Company. Bought Guarantee with Leons for a Fridge, and need to wait one week for the technicien to show up. CR explain there is only one technicien on the area. Ridiculous!
dont waste your time paying for any guarantee. If does not work just toss into the garbage.
Leons has become one of the worst companies in Canada as well, selling trash.
Have not replied to us about repair or replacement of on gaming chair we bought from the the brick
Bought a gaming chair and extended warranty from the brick dec 2020. Chair broke the first part of feb 2021. Completed the first warranty form on king and state webpage and got a reply 3 weeks later saying sorry for the delay but due to covid-19 (?) your request will take more time to complete. Got tired of waiting so I called/emailed the brick store in new glasgow. They told me they had received an email saying the first form wasn't filed in correctly so I tried filing again and wouldn't go through so the brick filed for me with my info. I have been waiting ever since for a reply. Emailed brick last night and they had gotten nothing this time so they would try to get hold of king and state again today.

Warranty
I am currently in store and found a replacement washer and my warranty refund is only $292! Which makes me short $37... I have never been to a store who would not drop 37 to make a sale... that isn't good business my lawyer said I am right to ask this. Unfortunately I am short $37 and the manager won't budge says I need to contact you to see if you can up the warranty up the $37 I am short to buy the washer
Desired outcome: For you to add 37$ to my warranty replacement right now if possible
Broken dishwasher
Dishwasher broke beginning of September 2020. Called King and State on September 15th, spoke to Stacey and she noted that a tech will come on the 22nd. Tech showed up on the 22nd and noted he had to order the part and it will take 3-5 business days. That would take us to September 30th. That date came and went and no one called. Called them on October 1 and spoke to Sarah and she said we had to wait another 3-5 business days. That day came and went. Called them again and we are told AGAIN, to wait 3-5 business days. Called again on October 20th and spoke to Sharice and she noted that the part is in and will call Whirlpool to find out when tech is coming. She tells me I have to wait another 3-5 business days. Her co-worker calls an hour earlier telling me that the part has not arrived. We tell him, Sharice told us part is in and calling to see when the tech is coming to fix. He all confused and noted to wait 3-5 business. If nothing is done, we will be given the option of getting funds back. October 27th comes and NO ONE calls. So, we call on October 28th and spoke to Brent again and he is telling us we have to wait for the part to arrive and now NO DATE is provided. I will not deal with Leons or Brick, or any company that has a warranty through King and State because they are disgraceful with customer service, lack of communication and also having clients wait forever without providing updates. I dislike this company so much it isn't funny.
I bought my LG Range trough the Brick I paid $700 for 4-year extended warranty.
The inner glass of my LG range broke due to a manufacturer defect since beginning of November 2022 and the issue still not fixed.
There is no follow up either from the Brick or King and State. I dealt with Shanee and Shanice R (
from the king and states ) and sometimes they tell me need the supervisor's approval, sometimes covered and sometimes it is covered.
Don't pay for extended warranty with King and State it is a waste of money. I will bring this to the Consumer Protection Disvion.

Bought 6 appliances fromLeons in Dartmouth Nova Scotia. All LG all high end products. Bought extended warranty. Just out of regular warranty range stops working. Been 2 weeks now. With no contact. Leon's not helpful. King and state a joke. They are the most unfeeling, mechanical people going.
I have a family I have to feed. I can't keep doing this. It's not even a year and a half old. Our appliance tech guys are great but hands tied too. This isn't a microwave ppl. Or a toaster. It's the stove. The only cooking instrument we have in the house.

I've been having the same issue for years. The dishwasher leaks and they won't replace the damn thing. They come and get it to work for a while and then it craps the bed again. I've had 15! I purchased an extended warranty on Whirlpool refrigerator. It has now been 4 weeks and again today Stein Appliances did not show up nor have the Courtesy to cancel. Same here. King and State are trash. I was told by the repair guy that they won't let them purchase compressors so that they could fix it on their first visit. They need to inspect the fridge, submit a form the K&S, wait for a reply, then order the part, then install it.
A pos company.
I purchased an LG fridge from Leon's in 2019. The fridge worked very well and met all expectations for the first 2 years or so, but in 2021 it stopped working. We had a technician out (because we purchased the extended warranty) 5 times to repair the fridge. In the end, they deemed that it was a defective unit and their own technician admitted that they have so many issues with this fridge. In fact, they even had a class-action lawsuit that was paid out for defective units due to the compressors. Our warranty with King & State promised a replacement of the product, but they refused to meet their obligations and forced a prorated warranty as our only option. We decided to investigate taking them to court, but then realized their company was headquartered in Barbados, which ensures that even if a settlement is reached, enforcing payment is nearly impossible. I'll give them credit, they sure know how to cover their behinds and take advantage of customers. DON'T EVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM LEONS, THE BRICK, OR ANYTHING UNDER WARRANTY BY KING & STATE.
