LG fridge & warranty
I am really disappointed with King & State Warranty Insurance. I have major concerns & complaints regarding their warranty process. I purchased a LG Fridge and the 4 year extended warranty package from Leons in 2018. On June 28th, 2023, my fridge stopped working. I immediately called King & State to initiate the warranty process. A technician came to my house the following day. They informed me that the compressor had broken down and he would order the parts asap. They stated they would be back on June 6th with the parts to fix it. I called the technician and he has yet to receive the parts. I then called King & State to inquire how long the process would take. The rep was quite stern and informed me not to call back with a complaint until 2 weeks have passed (July 14th). The first repair finally occurred on July 12. The technician had informed us to wait 24 hours for the compressor to reach its full capacity. However the following day, I noticed the fridge was running non-stop and was making a noise 24/7. A King & State representative called on July 13 to see if I still had any concerns with the repair. I had informed him about the problem. He said he will note this problem on our file, and to wait 1 week to see if the problem persists. If the problem persisted, he said to call and continue the claim process. Within the week, the following problems occurred:
- Fridge was working non-stop
- Food in the fridge was freezing
- Strange noise coming from the fridge continuously
- Moisture build-up
I called King & State on July 19th to submit another warranty request. The request was submitted as a goodwill as the warranty was over. The second repair service was booked for July 27th. An hour after the technician repaired the fridge, it completely stopped working again. Everything in the freezer melted and the fridge was no longer holding the temperature (the stand alone thermometer was increasing in temperature). It is safe to assume both technicians were not able to repair the fridge. I immediately called the customer service number to report the issue. The representative repeatedly stated a problem can only be submitted after the technician had submitted their report. Until then, no corrective action can be taken. She told me to continue calling back the following day to see if the report is submitted and then report the problem.
The next day after getting in touch with King & State to report the non-cooling fridge for the 2nd time, they called back to be offered a prorated refund that can only be used to purchase an item at Leons and within 30 days of issue.
I find this entire situation ridiculous. First of all, King & State took more than a month to try and fix the fridge. It was only made possible due to my consistent calling and emailing. It seemed like they wanted to prolong the process as long as possible so that we would give up. They tried to get out of the warranty by claiming that they were doing this service out of 'good will'. It should not even be described as a 'goodwill' as the initial warranty request was made prior to the warranty expiring. It is not my responsibility that the technicians could not fix the fridge and the parts took a long to arrive. As the initial issue was never resolved, the full warranty should have covered it.
Secondly, the warranty itself is a cheat. They did not offer the full purchase cost. The Leon's agent who sold me the warranty should have clearly stated that it is a prorated warranty, and the money given is only credit that could only be redeemed at Leon's. By not stating these conditions at the time of warranty purchase, I was scammed into buying something I would have never purchased. These warranty conditions would have caused me to reconsider whether to purchase items at Leon's in the first place. I find the offer extremely laughable. With the way King & State treated us as customers, why would I want to purchase another appliance from Leon's? Why would I ever want to go through this entire situation again? I am not interested in paying for an extended warranty that does not provide any service.
Neither Leon's or King & State warranty provided any meaningful help throughout this process. This process took an entire month. Living without a refrigerator for a month is extremely ridiculous and mind-blowing in this decade. Not to mention the amount of food discarded due to spoilage; an amount of $500.00. Including the days off I had to take off to accommodate the technicians, another $500.00.
I highly advise individuals: DO NOT PURCHASE EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH KING & STATE FROM LEONS! Please read others' reviews on consumer boards as I am not the only one who shares this experience.
Ideally I would want the entire cost of the fridge back and not as a credit to be used at Leons. I have absolutely no interest in purchasing anything from Leons again.
Desired outcome: I want King & State and/or Leon's to reimburse the full cost purchased for this fridge (no store credit or exchanges).

Hello, I called the Brick on the 30th of June as we were away and came home to a rotten food smell, Our fridge was dead. after hours of clean up and tossing all of our food, hundreds of dollars of food. They informed me that I was about 4 weeks past the 1 year manufacture warranty but that we did purchase the extended warranty so they will help us and to call King and State. What a joke! Trying to get through to them was like pulling teeth! 3 days and countless hours later several times they dropped the calls. I finally got through they scheduled a service call for the following Thursday. (almost a week now) the service technician came and complained he couldn't pull out the fridge, Then said yeah, Sounds like a compressor, left the fridge plugged in, and running, the compressor all the while still trying to click on, Making noises.
He just left and said someone would be contacting us whenever the part is in.
I have been reaching out to the warranty company and whirlpool and the brick, the only ones answering the calls and or emails is whirlpool. They mentioned they have escalated this, And the service man would be coming back the following Monday, Which was yesterday. YAY we are so excited, so I took the day off work yesterday, calling someone all day long to see where and when they would arrive, With no answers, Here we are on day 16 and I have AGAIN been on hold for over an hour with them trying to get answers. We are a foster home and we have 5 kids. this is so unacceptable, Not to mention how much money we had to just throw away!
Desired outcome: new fridge, compensation for food loss, etc.
Fridge repair
I had warranty on my fridge from this company my fridge stopped working and I had to call the company to send a service guy to take a look after 3 weeks then a service guy came and he said I needed a new compressor again I had to wait for the part to be ordered another month of waiting finally came and replace the compressor after 4 months I had the same problem and the fridge is not cooling I called the company again they said my warranty is over and they can’t do anything worse place worse customer service don’t even waste your money and buy warranty from them worse technicians don’t know what to do and if you want to call them you have to wait at least an hour for someone to answer or they say put your phone number to call you back they will never do it’s better for them to close and do this business
Customer service - time to repair
I called on Jun 5th to advise my washing machine was not working. They couldnt have anyone come out until the 8th. Fine. They called me on the 12th saying the part was in but could not come to repair the machine until the 19th, trying to tell me there is flooding in my city they need to contend with. I think this is a poor excuse as there is no flooding. I cannot wait until the 20th now bc the 19th no one is home. There is no where to wash laundry that is safe here. When I called I asked for a manager which I was refused.
Desired outcome: The company needs to get out and fix my washer in a more timely manner. Over two weeks is unacceptable. It is needed now not next week.
Warranty 4 year extended
I got a new Fridge, Stove, Dishwasher, Hood Microwave and Washer and dryer from Leon's on Oct 2020 and a 4 year extended warranty from King and State. Today, In the fridge stopped working. I contacted King and State, ust got off the phone, the earliest appointment is June 13th... my incident has been escalated and someone should call me back within 3 business days...

King and estate is a fraud scam company running hand in glove with agents from The Brick and Leons company. This company does not even have a physical office address in Canada and have been operating from Barbados. They find excuses to just deny warranty claims irrespective of how much you pay-signature or non signature warranties. They sell warranty services to serve Canadian population without any implication to be served under Canadian rule of law. We cannot serve any legal notice to them as they are not legally bound in Canada and all they have is only customer care email id or call number on which only a new agent will speak to you without talking sense.
King and Estate is FRAUD.
Do not buy King and Estate Warranty services from The BRICK and LEONS in particular. They are also involved in fraudulent service's selling these illegal insurance services.
Same issue here as of yesterday ! it’s the same agent that answers .. says they don’t work with LG techs .. okuuur! So what’s my warranty for? Call LG yourself and skip the cellphone prompts to reach a live agent. So far they are trying to sort this out for us fingers crossed! King and State is telling us we have to pay for our own repairs if it’s an LG tech .. unreal!
Extended warranty
I have a Samsung refrigerator and I contacted king & state 4 months ago about a problem with my ice maker I also contacted the brick where I purchased it they finally sent someone out to look a it 3 and a half weeks ago and he said he had to research about Samsung ice makers and he would get back to me. I haven’t heard anything back from him . So I contacted the brick again a week ago and haven’t heard anything back from them also. This is the worst warranty company I’ve ever dealt with they want your money but they don’t want to do any repairs very discussed with them my fridge is only 3 years old

Purchase was made out from kingandstate for lots of appliances for my home, however due to some problem with the Washer, I submitted a request to kingandstate to send some one to fix it, the technician came and he told me it’s fixed, however when I checked it out he did nothing as nothing was fixed, means his statement is untrue.
Then I submitted few claim on kingandstate website followed by several emails and phone calls, however no one responded at all, completely ignored.
Yesterday, May 6, 2023 was the first time some one pick up my call, I explained the representative that after all my claims requests and emails no one solve the issue, therefore I asked her either to repairs it or replace it but she said No for both options, then she said will give you a very small credit almost nothing compare to any washer value and this credit is not a cheque or cash it’s not kind of refund, it’s a very small amount available if I purchase a appliance from a company they decide which company is, means it’s not a credit where I can go and purchase from any where I want to purchase, I immediately told this representative that I want the supervisor to talk to me, then the supervisor called me (her name jessi) , I thought I am going to have a solution however she simply repeated all what the representative said, then while I am talking she said bye and hang up the phone while I even did not finish what I am saying and without fixing the issue.

TWICE in 1 month, my Samsung oven door is locked. The first time, on March 17th, a technician was sent. He looked at it, called his office, talked to someone for 10 minutes, then said he wiggled something and it unlocked. He said that all that mattered was that it worked, so he left without diagnosing or replacing any parts.
On April 1st, the door locked again, and STILL NO TECHNICIAN. After dozens of calls to King and State, messages and emails to The Brick, it's been 16 DAYS TODAY WITH NO COMMUNICATION FROM KING AND STATE. And NO WORKING OVEN for 19 days.
This was paid for extended warranty at the time of purchase!
Desired outcome: To have a working oven!

Worst company I've ever dealt with in my entire life
I purchased KitchenAid fridge along with all other appliances from Brick 4 years ago, they sold me extended warranty for all of them. Fridge started leaking few months after they delivered it, i called Brick and they told me call King and State and its been diaster ever since. Few technicians visited my house over the course of last few years even during COVID but no one was able to resolve it. I spent hours and hours on the phone, tons of emails , escalated it through Brick and now they are offering me less than 50% of the amount of new fridge cost and calling it buy out! I am not looking to sell anything , all I want is fridge which doesn't leak
When I asked to speak to someone higher up I was told there is no escalation path . I'm starting to wonder if they're even in business.

Maytag washer from leaon's
We got a new washer and dryer from Leon's on Aug 2020 and a 4 year extended warranty from King and State. In January 2023 our washer stopped working. We contacted King and State who then directed us to a local appliance repair shop. The technician came to our home and inspected the washer and said the company will submit the estimate to King and State for the repair.
Finally after the parts had arrived, the tech came back and turns out that he had not ordered a small piece (lid lock). The repair place then submitted a claim for the missing part and King and State then said they will not authorize any more repairs and they were cancelling the file. Then the told us that they will give us a credit at Leon's for $600 to replace the washer. I have a 2 year old washer that we paid $1100 for plus the cost of the extended warranty, and they are now telling me I have to get another $600+ out of pocket to replace it?
Do not buy extended warranty from King and State.
Desired outcome: Either approve the lock repair or pay for the cost to replace the washer.
King and state wrranty sucks they make things worse I had a problem washer took them week to get back to me they gave me a date for tech will come and check out washer . A week later tech came didn’t even ask me mush and order parts waited for one and half week for tech to come install parts but never made any difference . Now I was told by tech they will contact me by afternoon which never happened so I called king and state they told me that they will only pay $460 for the washer and will be in store cres for Leon’s so now I’m looking to pay extra &1000 to get a pair becy selling my house. Leon’s do no care about customer and king state is not Canadian company that was the worse decision I made
Extended warranty
King and State worst extended warranty. I purchased a 4 yr extended warranty through the Brick on 5 major appliances, August 2020. Within 7 months the refrigerator needed a new thermostat. February 6, 2023, it stopped working altogether. A technician came twice to try to repair refrigerator. On second call it was deemed unrepairable by Tech Office Office at Whirlpool. Trade Care Team Customer Service informed me refrigerator would be replaced/exchanged due to manufacture system break down. The Brick has been working very hard to get a replacement. It has been 38 days without a refrigerator. I reached out to King and State 4 times. When I purchased the warranty I never received a certificate number nor the contract. They finally acknowledged they should have sent a contract. Upon reading it they are offering a 1% prorated credit. King and State are issuing the credit to the store NOT ME. This is not stated in their contract. I have tried calling, sending emails, nothing. No way of speaking to a manager. The people answering the phone definitely read from a script, they repeat the same thing and ignore any question you ask. the. They are open to take your money and then no service is given. Ridiculous. I will not stop here.
Desired outcome: I want the credit issued to ME not The Brick.
Been at it since calling on March 9th for my LG washing machine technician came looked at it and next day called him and said he noted the parts would b 4 weeks and he would enter it into their dashboard. Ive called them everyday asking for a manager or something to tell me what they are doing and told them to stop talking off a script. I think they will blackl;ist me and do nothing now.

Our Fridge stopped working Christmas Eve.
We submitted our claim Dec 28th, 2022 for this issue.
Got a repairman the second week of January, he said, we can't repair your Fridge, you need a new Fridge. We been trying for weeks via phone and email to get a answer on when they will replace our Fridge. We had one email asking a few questions about the persons info for the Claim and then nothing back for weeks since. No one is stepping up to address this and Leons says it's not their problem.
Something should be done to shutdown this scam company.
LG Fridge
Our LG fridge water filter, every time we change it, the whole unit needs replacing. We have to get in contact with King and State, book an appt, take a day off work, have someone come in to tell us, it is the same issue as previously. EVERY 6 MONTHS, when changing the water filter, this happens). Then we have to take a day off for the repair man to come in and change the whole water filter unit. Then another 6 months pass and repeat again. If this was not bad enough, this time 16.5 hours on hold, going through the phone loop, 5 online request, 7 emails, and Leons have contacted them in several emails and calls. Very frustated
Desired outcome: Would like the whole unit replaced and a different one as my extended warranty will run out and then I will have to pay for repairs.
KING AND ESTATE IS FRAUD WARRANTY SERVICE. Emails, Calls and repeated calls to the company and they would not do anything for the warranty claims selling fraudulent warranty services from their hand in glove partners like The Birck and Leons. King and Estate is a foreign company with its headquarters in Barbadoes. They dont even an office with a listed address in Canada to serve any legal notices. All they have is a trash website and a call number to which agents does not have any clue and talk non-sense. I wonder why big giant companies like The Brick and Leons ever went to King and Estate Warranty companies for their services. These are all frauds happening under the very nose of Canadian Government under private sector companies looting families and providing absolutely ridiculous service on warranty claims.

5 year extended appliance warranty
Purchased 6 appliances and a 5 year extended warranty from Leon's in Coldbrook NS. . When we tried to submit a claim for 2 failing appliances, we were told that Leon's warranty company (King & State) has NO service techs contracted for our area. We were given 2 choices, find a tech and pay out-of-pocket and then submit for either denial or approval of claim (That's how they word it) to King & State, OR take a low-ball pro-rated buy out of the appliances and purchase replacements at the same Leon's. No thanks. Leon's refused to be billed for the service work directly ... immediate red flag letting us know that if we paid out-of-pocket, the Leon's owned warranty company would be denying the claim for reimbursement. We were told either accept refund of warranty purchase price, or leave with nothing. We still have 2 failing appliances and a really really bad experience with Leon's. They are still selling King & State extended appliance warranties that they can not/WILL NOT honor. The WORST customer experience we have ever had.
Desired outcome: honor the warranty - replace our appliances or repair them.

We purchased extended warrantee through Leon's for our Kitchen Aid fridge. The fridge stopped working so we contacted Leons who put us in touch with King and State who was contracted for their extended warrantee. They sent someone out a week later who advised he had to get approval to order parts but would be in touch. We attempted to contact the technician multiple times over the next month with no response. We then went to emailing and attempting to contact King and State with very limited response. After over 2 months I got a call from a representative stating that our claim was escalated and someone would be in touch within 3 business days. That was on December 20th. this has been going on for nearly three months now with no resolution.
Desired outcome: We want our fridge fixed.......

LG Washing Machine
It is 2 years old, stopped draining which caused it to leak water out the front door and affect 2 levels of the house. The machine comes with a ONE YEAR warranty (that speaks volumes on how they view their quality).
Anyways, submitted a claim. Heard nothing in 2 weeks. Called, and finally got to speak to someone after 2 hours waiting. Told me a tech from company X will be in touch. It's been a week and still haven't heard from anyone. Called just now, was waiting 30 min and click... silence. Got hung up on.
Makes me sick how poorly things are made now and can't even be backed up with warranty.
Never again am I buying an appliance that's smarter than me.

My 2 year old dishwasher broke down, the Brick won't fix it, so I am depending on my extended warranty.
It has now been over 3 weeks, and I haven't heard anything back from them.
I feel like if I had not bought the extended warranty, and just called the service company myself, it would be resolved by now.

I bought a television from the Brick online in October 2021 and the picture started started showing many lines across the screen and is still doing the same thing as of now.The picture started being dysfunctional at the end of October 2022.I bought a extended warranty through King and State.The customer service support have told me that my warranty is being handled by King and State which has not been very supportive of my warranty claim.They asked for a cost estimate of my Television and stated that the cost of repairing my Television would not be feasible.There have been so many delays with getting this problem solved. I was informed that I would probably get a refund or replacement.I am feeling very frustrated about this issue, as I have emailed the customer support service several times at the Brick and messaged and emailed King and State a few times as well. I am still with out a functioning television to watch.
