interest charge accrued and I was never billed
In January I made a purchase for $38.00 and was to be billed online. I never received a bill. Concerned, I sent them $40. I never heard from them, no bill, no correspondence, no phone call. Monday I received an ebill, my first ever from them through my bank for $185 interest. When I called to try to resolve this, It took 2 hours to try to get to the correct department to complain and it kept routing back to the original number. Two times I was routed to account disputes and was disconnected before I could talk. I called back a few days later, told my complaint and they are holding me liable, stating they called me...I was never called, and there were no voice messages. An agent I talked to ono Monday stated they sent me an email statement. A lie, nothing was ever received. They settled with me for $111. I feel is consumer fraud. I have cancelled my account and will never shop there again.
no breaks and unfair pay
The managers refused to let the employees take breaks and yelled at you if you asked for one. By law they are required to give employees breaks, but since they never had anyone to cover the breaks, they would not allow any of the employees to take breaks. In addition I found out that I was being paid way less than all the other employees doing my same job, and I had been with the company a longer time. I was always on time, did my job professionally, so there was no reason I should have been receiving lower pay, and that is discrimination. Because I never received a break and was never allowed to eat I got sick and had to quit. The managers also were told to yell at the employees and give them way too much work for just one person. The company also refuses to hire more employees to help out because they are trying to save money. It is a very unfair and abusive job environment.
jonathan lewis sofas manufacturing quality control issue
First of all, realize when you go to Macy's to buy your furniture, research the manufacture first before you make your choices to purchase. It is very embarrassing that Macy's Mr. Lungren, CEO and his President Jeffery Gennette, President who oversee the infrastruture of merchandise for their company. As so many company's outsource products like Macy's to China or other third world county, they are able to produce greater revenues through company Marketing personnel. The problem with Macy's out sourcing merchandise contracts to third world counties who don't have the necessary quality control infrastructure to maintain the quality control tools available produces all these problem for their customers. Macy's has changed their management style philosophy's that don't match company FAQs media relations not matching their company bio philosophies. They do not empower Omnichannel respresentatives with trust to resolve customer service issues. Basically, the moral of the story I uncovered is not to every buy the warrenty they want you to buy from them. Company warranties are sufficient to the life integrity of the sofa. The extended warranties deflect Macy's accountability to do satisfy their customers with resolutions. If Macy's can convince you too handle issues through their warranty purchased contract, then your automatically at their mercy instead of the company manufactured the product in the first place. Macy's prime objective is to save their company money at any cost regardless of how the customer is treated with satisfaction. Always do not purchase issues covered through home owners insurance and manufacture warranties sufficient to do directly what Macy's wants to have control over, and they want your extra money for a service that is adequately covered over time. All things, considered over time, cost effectiveness is simply best handled through the manufacture instead of Macy's. The warrantee are bogus for things that manufactures free coverage. Jonathan Lewis product are rated to be a lower end of furniture quality. I personally would never buy that product again. Every sofa purchased became defective, number 3 replacement was not worth the strike again of poor quality.
macy's american express credit card record-keeping
I have had a Macy's credit card for 34 years. Now it is a Macy's American Express. In January of 2016, they stopped sending me statements. Consequently I had no idea I had a balance due on the account until I went to the store in late March to make a purchase and the card was denied. I looked at the card to see what the problem was, and discovered it had expired in September 2015, even though I made purchases in Oct., Nov., and December! I received no new card and did not even realize it had expired. Long story short, I had made purchases in December after I paid my December bill. Since I got no statements for three months, there were late charges and interest charges rolled over month after month, so I "owed" over $100 on a balance of $268. Well, I called twice, was transferred 3 times each call, and ended up with their Phillipine call center each time, repeating my story with each transfer, and hardly being able to understand them each time. So I wrote a letter and mailed it to the three PO Boxes found on my last statement. They mailed me a new card with a new account number and a credit limit of $400, which is laughable. No one responded to my letter, except to send me a letter telling me to call the customer care number, which was the same damn number I had already called twice! After 1 hour and 11 minutes on the phone, I finally had my late charges removed. Now I have to wait until the check clears that I mailed the same day for the actual balance owed of $268, to call their consumer credit department to try and get this off my credit record. (My FICO score was 870 before this, who knows what is is now.) Horrible record-keeping, horrible customer service, horrible foreign call center. But of course you have to have their credit card to get discounts. And still no explanation as to why they stopped sending statements, did not send me a new credit card when mine expired, let me charge on an expired card, did not send me my Thanks for Sharing refund. Oh and by the way, I have lived at the same address for 23 years.
macy's credit card
I did some holiday shopping during Nov/Dec 2015. I never received a paper statement. I kept waiting and waiting. Suddenly I started getting calls, telling me that my account will go to debt collection if I don't pay, end of Feb 2016. One rep said I changed my preference to paperless(which is not possible coz I am not enrolled for online billing ). Other rep said that statements were sent by regular mail . So they themselves have 2 versions going on. Finally I got letter from debt collection company. They are willing to waive off only Late fee for current month. But not past 3 months. I would like all late fees and Interest be waived off.
I had same situation, they stopped mailing my statements (paper, not signed up for electronic), consequently had balance I did not know of compounding three months worth of late charges and interest charges. Plus they let me charge on an expired card for three months and did not mail me a new one. And this is the revered American Express. Offshore call center, offshore record-keeping?
unauthorized credit card charges
On October 31st 2015 I have applied a Macy's credit card which i have never received. Now recently i checked the credit score of mine i see it dropped lot of points and hence got my credit cards from banks rejecting my applications due to low scores.I checked the details of credit scores it shows Macy's credit card amount not paid.I called the customer...

Macy's charges customers $2.00 even when the customer has paid off their balance. Imagine how much money someone is making off this scam! Macy's will remove the charge if a customer asks, but it is a challenge to even get customer service on the phone. I have cancelled my Macy's charge account in view of this abysmal business practice.
workplace discrimination
My wife has been an employee at Macy's City Creek Center, UT, for over one year. Over the past several months, she has come home repeatedly afraid and upset that she has been treated poorly by their receiving manager Joyce. My wife had told me of frequent occasions where Joyce would deliberately try to sabotage my wife's job by misplacing expensive...

Macy's changed their billing cycle in October 2015. I have by bill paid in full each month through electronic funds transfer. I contacted customer service to inquire if any action was required, on my part, to ensure I would not receive finance charges or late fees. I was informed that it was all taken care of and I would not be late with my payments or receive any finance charges. My October bill shows I am late and have finance charges, because my bill was not paid. I call again to inquire as to the problem and request the charges be reversed and the account corrected. Again, I was assured it was corrected. My November bill has the same problems, requiring yet another call and 20-30 minute wait on hold to "fix the problem." December's bill, the same problem and phone call. Now January's bill with the same problem, so this time when I call I immediately ask to speak to a manager in customer service, seeing as how the first 4 times this could not be fixed by a Representative. I am placed on hold for 25 minutes before I just hang up. I cannot keep spending 30-45 minutes per month on fixing my account. I have never seen such inept customer service and complete disregard for their customers. I will never shop in another Macy's. BUYERS BEWARE!
star rewards
I signed up for a Macy's card when I purchased a few items 7 months ago in order to receive a discount on those items. No biggie, very common practice with department stores. Sign up for a card, get a discount. I paid my bill in full, so I had no balance and then I started receiving harrassing phone calls and account statements that showed a new balance. I had not made any additional purcahses. I called the customer service line and settled the matter. I asked the service rep repeatedly to confirm that there would be no balance moving forward. Then I received a new statement today that says I owe a $2 balance. I called again, they tried to tell me it was a $2 interest charge (on a balance of $0?), which obviously makes no sense - the $2 charge is actually listed on the account statement as "Fees Charged" and the statement shows $0.00 in the "Interest Charged" column. After 20 minutes waiting for a rep, I asked if Macy's charges me a fee when I have no balance. She said no. She gave me a script about the $2 balance that made no sense. I closed my account. This is exactly the type of nonsense that unnecessarily drives customers away screaming. It took months to fix this, and the fix was a canceled account for Macy's. So disappointing but I had no choice. They invented fees and harassed me. Worst experience ever.
fraud dispute
I foolishly opened a Macy's account on July 13th 2015. I used the account to purchase some clothes for a trip I was taking on Aug 1st. I received my first bill in July (due Aug 13) and sent off payment in full the morning of Aug 1. I returned from my trip and went to Macy's to return some items I had decided I didn't need. This was August 10 and I still had never received the actual credit card. The shopper's pass I had been given was no longer valid so the clerk rang up the return some other way. She also connected me directly to the credit dept to report I never received the card. I was assured a replacement would be sent. I never received a replacement. By pure accident I received an email from Credit Karma telling me there had been a change in my credit score. When I checked I saw my score had gone way down and the reason given was that I had exceeded my Macy's credit limit!. I had $1000 limit and had spent a total of approx. $209. Credit Karma showed my Macy's balance to be well over $1300. That was a Sunday, Aug 31. I called Macy's the next day to report the fraud. I also reported that I had not received my second bill which would have shown these charges. Suffice it to say it's January 4th and Macy's has still not resolved anything. It took 2 months and about 5 phone calls to get copies of my 2nd and 3rd bills (which I had never received either). I sent them fraud statements twice and it took them almost 2 months to send the return receipt I had requested. I called again today and got absolutely nowhere. My file still had not been updated since November, they still showed the wrong amount in dispute (a fraction of the actual charges disputed) and they could give me no information! Another warning. When I opened the acct I thought it was a regular store acct. I was not informed that the card was linked to AMEX and charges could be made ANYWHERE. This was important because all the fraudulent charges were made at one mall but at multiple stores! Stay away from Macy's credit card! Their customer service is horrendous. They will transfer you all over but provide no real information. Any call to customer service will take a minimum of an hour and when you hang up you will be no further along. Opening that Macy's account has been one of the worst experiences I have encountered and it is still ongoing!
harassed by an employee for my parents
My name is Dominic. I am 14 years old and I have a complaint for Macy's. I was harassed by an employee on October 31, 2015, at the Macy's store in the Oglethorpe Mall in Savannah, Georgia. What happened was that after I purchased a water bottle from an employee, the employee who works at the shoe counter went up to me and asked for my parents in a mean way...

I have ordered from this website for the past two years and every year I had problems with them. First, sometimes I received items that I didn't order, but never got what I purchased. The next year I ordered a lot of things, and had to get four separate shipments. This year I ordered three items, but all three were severely damaged. But they were not damaged because of shipping because the shipping box was fine. I asked them to check the items before shipping, but obviously they didn't have time to do it. I ordered a pot and there was a huge crack! I sent several messages, but never got a response. I will never order anything from this company again. I hope they'll give me a refund.
discrimination against atheists
Today, I was unjustly fired from my seasonal position as a Sales Associate due to false allegations being brought up against me by my department manager. I read one of the rules of Macy's, and it said that employees even shall not be subject to any form of profiling. The other day, I noticed my associates wearing crosses and other religious symbols, so I...

This is the worst case of harassment by Macy's. I applied for a Macy's store card. That was just the beginning of the problem. I have been following up with Macy's for the last 8 months and they...

I have been dealing with a macys mistake for over 3 mths . I made a return by mail and i was supposed to get a credit back to my macys acct. Instead i was given gift cards and a certificate check. Ive been calling in every two weeks and still i haven't gotten all the credit back to my credit card and it appears as pass due because of non payment and its ridiculous that every agent i have spoken too is so incompetent that i am still dealing with this situation i will be contacting the credit bureau or an attorney to resolve this if macys doesn't due so. I cant make any purchases and my credit card is declined because of this matter.
furniture
Ordered mattress and new bed in August. I was told they were out and it wouldn't be available until the end of September. Right before the end of September, someone texted me from a warehouse telling me that if I didn't pick up my furniture by the following Friday, they would start charging me storage fees! I called and asked what they were talking about - that no one told me the bed was actually in stock now. After holding for more the ten minutes, the nice cust serv rep came back on the phone to tell me that actually, the bed would not be in now until sometime in October - the bed was backordered. October 15th came and went and when I called, they informed me that due to the high volume of orders for this bed., etc., etc., etc. No one called to inform me of this problem - I asked to speak to a Manager. The woman said there was no manager to complaint to. They are told to take down the complaint and when they have their monthly meetings, they will bring it to the manager's attention. I couldn't believe it! I canceled the order and Macy's lost about $1200. Because of this very bad experience, I will never order furniture from Macy's again. To not care enough to take a call from a customer is absurd and says it all!
purchased but never delivered
I've purchased a sofa and chair from Macy's over Labor Day weekend in September 2015. At first we were updated with delivery dates extending out further and further. We've now passed the most recent delivery date and received no contact. I called and we were told that the items have not yet been delivered to the warehouse and they told me now the date ha...
Read full review of Macy's$2.00 service charge
I paid off my account ($72.82) in July 2015. You can imagine my shock when I received a $2.00 charge in August! I tried calling the number on my bill to no avail...no one is ever available to take the calls! I then purchased something for $3.32 and because I did not pay the $2 charge, the next bill I received was for $7.32! (the purchase and the $2 charge doubled)! I went to my local Macy's and spoke with 7 different customer service people and not one of them knew what the $2 charge was for. I tried 23 times to call the number listed on the bill and all 23 times got the same message "due to the unusual volume of calls we cannot help you at this time". I then wrote a letter and received a letter back saying "please contact us immediately at the below listed number". Well guess what? That is the same number I have been trying for 4 months now to get through to...I finally gave up and paid the stupid $7.32! I have not and will never again use my Macy's card but guess what? This month I received another bill for $2.00! Someone should report Macy's to the Better Business Bureau!
macy's fraud investigation
In April, my wallet was stolen. The thief went to Macy's and tried to use all of my credit cards, bank cards and pre-paid cards. Three of my cards protected me and did not allow the transactions. Macys allowed the thief to charge nearly $800. I contacted them with my police report and they never got back to me. Each time I called I was told to be patient. Now I am getting collections calls and they've added late fees. But whenever I called Macy's they told me not to worry. Now I cannot even get anyone to speak with me in the fraud investigations department and they keep sending me to collections. I am so distraught. It was awful having my wallet, credit cards, money, ids stolen. But now, the cost is close to $1, 000 and I cannot even get a human to help. This is not acceptable.
Same thing happened to me.I will tell everyone I know dont get a macys credit card
