poor customer service
On 4/28/19 around 2:15-2:55 pm (wish I got the mgr's name) daughter and I were in store in Garden Grove, CA saw a teal accent chair w/silver rounded studs lining bottom and sides w/out a price tag or any other tag. The lining underneath the chair had a good size rip and sagging. Also, I noticed a sharp object (could be part of a staple) that poked my finger when I tilted the chair. We saw an employee walk by and ask how much chair was. She said $99.99 and I pointed out defects of the chair and if we could get it marked down. She said I had to ask a mgr and pointed to the front of store. I asked her if she can call a mgr (since she had a radio on her) to the aisle so I don't have to carry chair to the front and then not getting it discounted. We waited for a few mins. Mgr approached us and asked if she could help us. I pointed out the defects of the chair to her and asked if we could get it marked down. She said, the chair was shipped to them that way and that they don't do markdowns due to everything's at a discounted price already, but if we opened a credit card with them we would get 10% off. I told my daughter No, I'm not buying something that's defective at full price. So we left. Neither employee or mgr was apologetic and mgr made us feel like we bothered her. We went to the store in Fullerton. We saw the same chair but in grey. We went to the front to pay for our items and asked the cashier if they can look up the chair in teal at another store. She said she wasn't able to look it up in system but can call another store to check. We told her that it was ok she didn't have to do that. We told her and another cashier who was standing by about our situation at the GG store and what the mgr there said. They both said she could've marked it down. I thought so myself since it was a defective item. I've worked retail for 30 years and our goal was to satisfy our customers especially when you're selling defective merchandise.(which there was a lot of items in that store defective. Were they all shipped that way?) I was in that store on 4/17/19 and was very impressed with the changes. Before then I was in that same store about 3 or 4 years ago and it was a disaster! I never went back because it was such a mess it wasn't worth my time. When I went back there on 4/17/19 I was so impressed I brought my daughter there today. Now I will not shop in that store because how we were treated w/No Customer Service what's so ever! I live about 10 mins to GG store, but I will drive the distance to another store that has great customer service. Please re-train mgr on her customer service skills to keep your customers returning to your store. Very Disappointed Customer.
PS. we are still looking for that teal accent chair and hoping to find it in another store.

I am complaining about the manager matthew at 620 6th avenue marshalls
Matthew was very rude, and made me feel discriminated against. As the new cashier was ringing me up, his phone started ringing. He didn't pick it up of course because that would've been rude. So he continued to engage and then Matthew walks up to him and says "Your Phone is ringing!" In which he stopped helping us at this point to answer the phone. He then takes the clothes and say "we're going to register 13" no explanation, nothing. So we walk over there and he sits the clothes down next to the manager and when Matthew seen us standing by them, he says "how may i help you?" At this point I'm completely confused.. so i reply "he told us to come over here" So then He states "oh he's new. You can go back over there." So my mother and I walk back over to the register we originally was at and now we're standing there for 5 Minutes Waiting For Them to check our clothes that we're trying to purchase with no explanation as to why. Then when we ask "was there an issue?" The cashier responds "uhh, i just Had to check something".. This whole experience was very unpleasant and very embarrassing. This was not good customer service at all; Just knowing that the cashier is new, Matthew Had no business removing his attention from us (the customer) and the transaction. Not only that, but my stuff being checked in the middle of a transaction is ridiculous and made me feel completely discriminated against. Customers come first and Matthew showed his lack of customer service; and needs additional training, especially being a manager. With him providing customers with that insulting act you will lose customers.

The workers were very rude and had attitudes. Made customers feel like idiots. Even the manager of the store had attitude. Employees should be welcoming and willing to help. The employees at this store were not. I will not be shopping at this store again. I really feel the employees need to be trained on customer service skills again. Even the manager should get trained again. A customer should not be made to feel like an idiot.

This employee got upset with me for going on break late or for some reason said it affects pay roll . I have dealt with her getting on me before but I figured she needs to change and not treat my other coworkers the way she does .I don't obviously think this kind of behavior of this employee should be tolerated she also gets on her employees in front of customers which shows customers not many employees get along .

I had gone to Marshalls on Daniel Webster Highway in Nashua, NH on 1/30/2019 and purchase 2 sweaters. I did not try them on as I was in a hurry but I did help the cashier by taking one of the sweaters off the hanger. On December 12, 2018 me and my brother go into Marshall's first of all they start following us around rudely following us not even asking if we need help after about a hour of shopping the clearance isles which or messy and dirty everything is mixed up u can't tell what anything costs because the tags looked tampered with and such so I ask the employee that was following me to check to see if this was the correct price and she assured me it was so I get in line to pay and she scans the first item and before she even looks on the screen she tells me the price was incorrect that it was the wrong tag on there then she scans the next item and she says again wrong tag I say man that's impossible I'll go grab the 6 other items on the rack with the same price on them and she said ok go grab it if that the case I'll give it to u for that so I run get it and she's helping someone else she told me get back in line.i feel so discriminated against I feel like she judged me on the way I look .I can't believe a company like yours allows this kind of behavior I will be contacting the bbc and filing a complaint this happeneds way to much at this store it's ridiculous I'm a proud working tax paying law abiding citizen and it's horrible that your store employees made me feel like a criminal do you allow this in your company?

I bought christmas gifts in september..there was a jacket for 39.99 i attempted to take back to the reynoldsburg ohio store. Jacket was purchased there in sept.
I tried taking it back the day after christmas. They refused to take it back said it was out of their system i asked to see the manager. He woukd not budge on this. I called customer service and had to call back twice as no area manager called me back finally talked to a christina who said she was a district manager.
Said things come n go in the stores all the time and after 30 or 60 days the items are no longer in their system so basically i am out out the price of the jacket. I cancelled my marshalls/tj maxx credit card and will b shopping at other stores or online. Can not affird to loose that kind of money. Fyi marshalls tj maxx i spent thousands at your store.
Im sure the other stores in my area WILL appreciate my business. As i told the district manager the easy part is me paying u money and the clerk putting the items in the bag, the customer service part is how im treated after the sale and your store failed miserably

What is up with all the 80's look in Salvation Army sweaters there it's so disappointing and then most of the blouses that you can buy there or so high waisted you can even they won't even go past your hips and they have all these clothes that are built for Barbie dolls you can even get your arms in them I used to love Marshalls but the past couple years they really have gone crazy with their clothing and neither are normal people out there that like to shop for normal clothes I won't be shopping here anymore

An asian associate did not allow me to return my item without receipt, said could not find my items in the system and her manager Connie B. also told me they could not return it without a receipt as they could not find it. I know this is untrue as they didn't even scan my item with the machine. I went to another store and was able to get everything returned because of course the items scanned without an issue. I want to complain about this as this is not right to lie to the customer and waste the customer's time to wait in line and go through the hassle when the items were returnable. I drove there for nothing when I could have gotten everything returned and use my gift card to buy new items in the store! Beware what they tell you and demand to get it scanned. I didn't want to waste my time as a supervisor told me this but I should have demanded to talk to someone even higher.

So the other day I went into Marshall's with my sister and went to the fitting room to try some clothes I liked. The girl was in the fitting room working was very rude to me and had a lot of attitude. She even rolled her eyes when I asked her something and answer my questions with some awful attitude that no employee should give to a customer. I believe her name is Maria she's a tall girl and skinny.

I just want to inform you of a employee of Marshalls in Roanoke Virginia. I am Robert BRIAN Berry. I'm mixed race but I really don't appreciate her saying such things? Because i don't like Pork and Rice? If this is the type of employees you all hire? She's representing your Company. And i can't shop there anymore. Nor would i recommend it. unethical behavior
We were in the store and the clerk at cash register was taking too long to ring up the purchased items as he was distracted and was not paying attention and on top of that he was very rude and told that he even can go more slower.
We requested to speak to the Manager(Whose name was April ) who then came and without even listening to us stated that she does not think that clerk was unethical and did not even bother to listen to our complaint and left abruptly.
We are regular customer in Marshall store and the kind of customer service we got today will discourage us to shop in this store in future and we will also make sure that our love ones and friends also didi not shop at this particular store.
lost layaway
On 10/27/2018 I went to the Marshall's at 3606 Marketplace Blvd East Point, GA to pick up my layaway at 3:30pm and they could not find it. Six people later and hour and a half later still no layaway. I really wanted my layaway because My kids really like the shoes that they picked out them self's and I was applauded at how long it took them to find it. Then at 5:00pm the manager Jay Jennings told me that the associate that put my layaway up for me had to find it and she comes in at 6pm. Then he gave me a 20% discount coupon that I have to use in 30 days I can not use it on my layaway. At the time I was frustrated and I really wanted to keep the shoes I said OK and I will come back at 6pm. I came back at 6pm and Lyn who had originally put my layaway up was there and she search for another 32 minutes at that point I was very upset and I was telling them I wanted my money back and I was never coming back. When I said that Lyn came out with my Layaway. This was a very bad experience for me and I missed an appointment that I had at 6pm.

There was a girl smoking pot in her car in the parking lot of Marshall's in Shelby north Carolina she was a employee her name tag said Courtney I had my two grandchildren with me when we walked by her smoking in her silver car then she later cashed us out all we could smell we will never return to the store until the matter is resolved I am contacting the better business bureau.
