I'm a child of the 70-80's and remember the Maytag repairman VERY well! I confidently believed the advertising testimony that I was buying a superior product.
I purchased the Maytag 5.2 CU Washer & Dryer pair from Nebraska Furniture Mart on 1/23/2021 for our new home. It was delivered on 1/30/2021, we registered the machines on 2/8/21 and began using them in May 2021.
Almost immediately, we noticed issues with the washer, primarily that it would not fill or agitate correctly on certain cycles. We assumed the issue was user error as the equipment was rich with features.
Thankfully we purchased the extended warranty because on 2/26/22 the machine completely died and would not power back up. The repairman came on 3/8/22 and officially diagnosed the machine "A LEMON"!. Now it's mid May and we are still without a function washer. I paid $2,076 for a pair of machines that didn't last 1 year. Unfortunately, no vodka came with that lemon. Now I'm looking for a basic, used washer to replace my very expensive dead machine.
Desired outcome: I want a new machine that will wash my clothes

We purchase a Maytag washer and dryer washer model MVW 7232HWO on July 3 2020. It was repaired before December of 2020. Over the next year it has been repaired 5 times. Maytag gave us an extra 6 month warranty for our trouble. It is broke again with the same trouble. It take 20 minutes to fill with water. My Mom has had 3 Maytags in 60 years. I will never buy another.
I agree..it has been a nightmare for me and my wife..I made a terrible mistake buying this Maytag washer..Anyone who might read this complaint...Please don't waste your money on this line of Maytag washers..unless you want the same experience that I have had..my washer is the MVW7230HWO line of washers it is now exactly 1 year old..and my wife is having to wash our clothes by her hands now..because of my mistake of buying thus Maytag washer from Lowes home improvements store in Bristol, Virginia..they refused to do anything to help me the very next day after I purchased this New factory defective Maytag Washer. I purchased the me model just over 2.5 years ago from Menards. The unit will not power on anymore. The display won't light up. The outlet is good. I just can't believe a thousand dollar machine won't work for even 3 years. So disappointed.
It's a piece of junque.and there so many dissatisfied customers the give bad experience reports on appliance web sites..it would in my opinion be impossible for maytag to not know about all of the malfunctions this wash machine has had in its poor design. I lost over $900.00 when I purit from Lowes improvements..in Bristol, Virginia..only one year ago..they refused to let me exchange it the very next day for another wash machine..the manager told I would have to deal directly with Maytag..then Maytag passed me to another repairman the told me to try to reset the computer chips by opening the top loader lid 6 times rapidly...or unplug the washer overnight..he said that might help...Can you believe this is the kind of help I received ine day after a $900.00 dollar New Maytag washer purchase...I wish I had bought the cheapest off brand of washer they had..I have lost all my money..and can't even get the washer to work..Fred Smith Bristol, Virginia.
I have the same exact problem this customer described..The repairman told me their is nothing he can do to repair the washer. It is that simple. I have lost so many gallons water trying to get it to function you just can not imagine. There is almost not owner control over what the washer may or may not fo during a single cycle..most of the time the agitator will not even turn. And when the cycle first starts. If the agitator works, the wash has what looks to be about 1to 2 gallons water. Resulting in all my wife's nylons being shredded..because of not enough water being in the wash cycle..don't go for this BS about stoped up water lines, not enough water pressure, bent drain hoses.or improper customer use or installation..I was an appliance repairman for 20 years..this piece of junque is a faulty design from the beginning..and from my experience with customer service from Maytag...they don't give a damn about this factory LEMON !..If you a stupid enough to buy this washer after I am telling you it has malfunctioned from the first day I purchased it from Lowes home improvement store..in Bristol,Virginia then you are in for the same experience I have had..Even the Lowes home improvement store of Bristol, Virginia refused to exchange it the next day after I told them what problems I was having with it... I feel sure they knew this model was a Lemon 🍋. And wanted nothing to do with exchange for some other model of wash machine..the manager told me to forget it..he would do nothing to help with the experience I was having the very next day after I purchased the washer new from them..at Lowes home improvement of Bristol, Virginia. And now the 1 year warranty ran out 3 days ago..Now I am stuck with a new 1 year old $900.00 washer that was faulty from the First day I purchased it..And Lowes improvement Store and Maytag..did not give a damn about my terrible experience with the purchase of this New Maytag wash machine..Model MVW7230HWO..Fred Smith Bristol, Virginia..
If you notice the man's complaint above..he had problems with this wash machine from the very beginning..It was after the first use of the machine for me..and you see the answer he got from Maytag ,? PASSED the buck to the extended warranty...another $300.00 purchase he had to make for an already factory defective washer that counot be repaired iin the first 1 year warranty that came with the manufacturer when it was purchased..it could not be repaired with the first warranty..But Maytag suggested., try the extended warranty. If it couldn't be repaired in a years time from the factory warranty..how the hell is an extended warranty going to help...
