I have had the Menards "BIG" card for years. Last year I purchased over $4, 000.00. On several occassions during the past few months I have asked when I might receive my rebate as advertised. I have nver received an answer or a rebate in all the years I've had a big card. John Z.
I don't know why you need one hundred words, but I would like to get my message accross before writing to the home office in Eau Claire. I now need to come up with fifteen more words in order to satisfy your recommendations.
can't give receipts for cash sales
BLACK FRIDAY, waited in line 1 hour in the cold patiently with another say several hundred more people. The doors opened, and about 50 people NOT patiently waiting their turn, mobbed the front doors ahead of everyone else. Words were exchanged, upset people, pushing, shoving, holloring! Totally unfair ! After that, i waited in line for a check out for another 1hr., to find out that the 10 items i had just bought for gifts couldn't get a gift receipt...All because of CASH SALE..I could have had them ring each item up seperately, and done cash sale with receipt, but otherwise no gift receipts! unreal...get with the program Menards!
Gift receipts can be given on any item no matter how they are purchaed. Buying with cash has NOTHING to do with it. As stated, they need to know BEFORE the transaction is done, otherwise, NO gift receipt!
You have to tell them at the beginning of the transaction that you want a gift receipt rather than at the end. If you did then its a matter of cashier error rather than company policy.

We purchased items on an interest free 12month promotion. I was making payments no problem, paid off my bill. I get a notice 2 months later that my balance is going to collections. I pay the balance that day, which I still do not know where it came from! I try to get a loan for a new home and HSBC sent my "late" payment to the credit reporting agency! My perfect credit score dropped 100 points!?! How is this possible? I did not receive bills or late statements from this company on a monthly basis like they tried to tell me. HSBC is a thieving fruad!
I have numerous records detailing each and every call I made to HSBC, and now that I am graduated from college, I have a little more time to find a resolution.. I am beyond frustrated though... Who can we turn to for help? It seems as our money (as consumers) is worth so little to everyone. Do I really have to be owed tens of thousands of dollars for someone to care? What's worse is that this costs us something more than money, it costs us the one irretrievable element.. our time... I'm mentally exhausted, but I cannot afford to give in and give up. What an incredible disappointment it is that these large corporations are enabled to destroy the consumers who support their businesses... what a disgrace
unfair employee treatment
Menard's isn't the worst retailer to work for in the world, but as many of the other employee posters have stated, fair treatment by management is completely sub-par. Occasionally you'll find managers whose problem solving and approaches to keeping employees happy and working are pretty impressive (like my own), but I would say a good 75% could not even manage their own shoelaces to stay tied. My store personally is "catch-22 central" in what it expects from its employees. I'm talking about hours offered versus the hours that are actually given. We are expected to work our given shifts, not be late, and not to cut out early nor ask for it. If any of the above are violated, you can expect a verbal or written warning the next day, or at the very least shunned on by some management. At the same time, we expect to be able to work our offered shifts from start to finish, as the whole reason we have the job is to work and make money. This past week I was scheduled to work 23 hours - I worked 9. I am expected to be OK with it, but it's extremely upsetting. Therefore: Catch 22. The job isn't for fun - it is a needed paycheck to pay bills. When most of the part timers are in college, like myself, money is tight enough as it is. Sometimes even dept managers get sent home early, resulting in their not making the 40 hr/week requirement. I like working and I do my job well - much better than part timers in other depts that get more hours than me because someone else made a huge sale. While the pay/workload ratio is fantastic and totally on my side, it does not make up for a measly 9 hours a week. What they need to remember is that the hardest working employees are usually the happiest employees, and recently I have not been a happy employee.
And for the record, I have been employed there over 3 years. Started off great, but now? No dice. Sure, maybe you can blame the economy. But if you're going to do that, why are you still hiring new people? Can't wait to quit. At least at this point I have pretty good job security, seeing as I'm one of the most knowledgeable in all aspects of the store...

I agree with all. Still working at Menards, but hoping my cleaning business picks back up. Menards in Ann Arbor is being run by 25 years old, lazy GM'S and Assistants. They favor young people have allowed dating and pregnancies amongst employee's, this is against policies. Your suppose to get written warnings, then time off then and either demoted or fired. Some can have 20+ points against them, still working. Others( just recently), great work ethics, been there since opening, no points no warnings. Boom after not being up trash outside, which was sent by an e-mailed not in person, (GM job not theirs). Had their scheduled weekend off, came to work next scheduled day, worked 2 hours, was pulled in with GM and his assistant, and his manager boss( who was totally unaware of what was going on). Was written up, give 3 days off and demoted! All at once! Where's policy? I am blown away by this. It's no wonder everyone wants to quit this store. Unfair treatment!
I worked @ Menards in Ionia, Mi. for about 4 months, that was about all I could take of their crap employment! The front end Manager, I was a cashier, was older than me (45) and yet ran that front end like a JHS Click. It was very obvious who she favored as those people got to do pretty much anything they wanted. Shut down your lane. sure no problem. Run to get coffee down the road. sure no problem. Take your lunch ealry. Of course. Meanwhile she was a complete jerk to everyone else. The management seems to be very very concerned about THEIR bonuses as well. They constantly make people go home early to "make payroll" so they're bonuses aren't effected. My manager actually came back from a managerial meeting one day very loudly boasting to her assistant managers in front of all of us that they "better start sending people home EVERYDAY and make sure we make payroll everyday unless you want you bonuses cut" Also after another time after managers came back from a convention holding a meeting, oh and ALL MEETINGS are held at night which means if you work a day shift that day you have to come back to the store that night (it's mandatory!) to sit and listen to them scold you for not getting their bonuses up, to encourage all of us cashiers to start up selling stuff off of our lanes to every customer. Why? Because they needed bigger numbers to get bigger bonuses! Nothing in it for us cashiers what so ever just pressured daily from that point on to get those numbers up so that their bonuses could improve! They are a very greedy, self serving company to work for. They do not treat their employees well and do not pay them well either. You will find no respect working for Menards in any way shape or form. They are awful!
I worked as a stocker in Housewares with a guy who disappeared more than he worked. While recuperating from knee replacement surgery, I submitted my resignation. Keep in mind that this was during a period of FMLA, so I wasn't actively working.
Now, after much encouragement on the part of one of the best managers in the store, I applied to return. But, I'm not rehireable because I didn't give 2 weeks notice. I wonder how that works when a person is out on a medical leave and not working. 2 weeks notice of what? So, apparently they'll do better with lackadaisical efforts on the part of someone who should have been disciplined long ago than they would with someone who has a work ethic, because of someone's misinterpretation. This company could do well to implement more comprehensive employee and especially management training.
All the comments here are vaild ones. I am a former full time employee. I worked here while going to college and took full time until I got a job in my field to pay my loans and bills. Its true, Menards treats there employees like dogs. The computer scheduling system is not good, and I also had mutiple problems with it. It had me work mutiple times working 10 days straight (no OT since it was in 2 different weeks) which violates Illinois law where you can't work more than 6 days straight if full time, no set schedule as a full timer, and they schedule you less than 8 hours between shifts if you close than open which again violates state law. The long hours they schedule you for (10 or more hrs) make you burn out very quickly, and they keep the stores understaffed or have everyone working the same time so nothing ever gets done and your forced to stay after your shift is over to finish projects because of this. It was fine at first getting some OT, but it got rediculious after a while. The managers are very unprofessional and agree most of them don't how to manage and lack any business sense. I want to know who picks some of these managers becasue some of them shouldn't be in these positions. This is why you guys have such high turnover. This place is a joke and is ran by a bunch of greedy, heartless people who don't value their employees hard work they do for them. Oh well, just glad to not be working there! My advice for someone who is thinking of working here is to stay clear of this place!
I think Menards is too big for its britches. The infrastructure cannot keep up with the growth rate. The issues with the computer scheduling system are ridiculous in a company this size. I have had nothing but problems with scheduling since I started. Computers are supposed to make things easier, not harder! I had an much smoother experience when I worked for a small company that had a manual time punch system. And I belong to a relatively small department! I cannot even imagine what some of the larger departments are dealing with. I agree 100% with the statements about the manner in which team members are treated. I think the company must think that since they are offering profit-sharing, they can therefore treat employees like tools instead of human beings. We must show up on time or we are docked points. However, we can be sent home early or kept late regardless of whether or not we have plans or needs. Expectations are two-way: a company has expectations of employees, but employees also have expectations of a company. Wake up, Menards, or all the profit-sharing in the world will not garner you the retention you need in order to be truly successful!
I started out loving working for Menards. It was during the winter and the two departments I started training in (Millwork and Building Materials) were pretty easy to learn. What I cannot stand is the unfair treatment of certain people and management's lack of patience with some of their employees. I think it is unfair to be scheduled 13 + hour days with a half hour lunch break (if you're lucky) and that's it. There is no direction from any of the managers if you need help with something and it's pretty obvious that some of these people probably shouldn't be managers at all. I think that their anti-union stance on things will hurt them in the long run because of all the employee laws they end up violating on an everyday basis
Apparently, this is the training that store managers get coming down from corporate as this is the same treatment offered at Hodgkins, IL. Employees schedules are changed without a day's notice, call, email, etc. Employees/students are scheduled ten hours days on week-ends and are ASKED to stay? No they are told they have to stay until the store is ready regardless if they end up working 12 hours per day total, lunch is whenever if your lucky...maybe on the tenth hour.
I thinks its time for a class action lawsuit for unfair practices much like Walmart!

employment
UNETHICAL, GREEDY BEHAVIOR BY MANAGEMENT TEAM! Menards can be a good company to work for, good pay, fair benefits, but they also still offer a year end bonus. Stores get a bonus based on the sales for that store. This bonus is divided between the employees based on ranking (manager, assistant, team member) and length of time employeed. They need to still be employeed by December 15. If anyone is qualified for that bonus and leaves or is let go prior to that date, the store gets the same bonus amount, but it's distributed to the empolyees still there. Some managers will find any reason they can to let someone go right before this time so the "bonus pot" will be larger for their own benefit. Basically they just cheat some poor employee out of something they worked all year to receive. Someone I know (I will remain nameless) put in their two weeks notice because they were moving away to go to school. They were let go only a few days before the "Bonus Deadline". The initial reason was because they were 2 minutes late for work that day, they called in and explained they were running late because of the weather and it was approved. Then they changed the reason and said it was because of availability when they had the same availabilty approved for several months and it was never an issue... (nor were they even asked if they could put in more hours). This manager knew the employee was moving away to continue their education and was let go right before the bonus cut off time. What does this say to young people, starting out into the working world. How cruel is it to cheat soomeone out of a bonus, someone that is going away to school, on their own. Did this manager ever go to college? Forget what it's like to be in college, working, paying for their own rent, utilities just living pay check to pay check. That measly $500 bonues distributed amongst several employees is nothing compared to how far it would go for someone going out on their own for the first time.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Unfortunately you're wrong about how their bonuses are processed. I used to work there and am extremely familiar. Profit Sharing is not based on any sort of "pot" so firing someone before Dec 15th would not enlarge the other manager's bonus. Profit Sharing is based off of a certain percentage (based on how many years you've worked there) multiplied by the amount of money you made that year.
Managers recieve year end bonuses based on their pre-set percentage at the beginning of that fiscal year multiplied by net profit dollars if they hit a certain amount of profit.
While I do agree, they seem to screw people over right before the bonus deadlines, their own bonuses do not increase because someone else's bonus is taken away :)
refused to product back
I purchase a snow blower from Menard's last evening. I spent $1, 005.42 fo0r the Brute 13.5 X 29 electric start. I even paid $ 39.95 for delivery of the terrible product and the delivery guy actually didn't even know how to get it out of the truck, my brother and I had to unload it.
I pulled up to my garage, put gas in it and tried to start the snow blower, it would not start. We tried it three times to no evail. We checked the oil, spark plug and all connections and this snow blower just would not turn over and it was approximately 15 minutews old. (Brand New)
I called Menard's in Oakdale, Minnesota I spoke to some one that stated he was the Manager, I explained the situation with the product I just purchased and explained to him, I need someone to come back to my home and pick this product up, I will not pay over $1000 for a proiduct that dopesn't work! The *** so-called manager asked me, did you make sure to put fuel in the snow blower? I said, of course I did because I would be willing to bet it would not start with out it. Again, the *** manager then stated this, we'll seeing you put fuel in the product we can not take it back becasue it's now used.. I said, that's incorrect because this item will not start, I've had it (15) minutes and I would also bet your delivery drive has not even returned back to your storer yet from his trip to my home 10 miles away? The manager said, you're correct, . he's not back yet buyt seeing you have put fuel in the snow blower to start it for the first time, regardless of the fact it will not start, it's yours and we will not take it back. The store manager then hung up on me!
Nice service from a retail store thast steals over $1000 from customers, refuses to try and make some sort of an accomidation to the customer and then hangs up the telephone because he's both to ignorant and unqualified to answer simple questions.
I will NEVER buy as much as a cotter pin from Menard's ever in my life, what a joke of a retailer.
I am a store manager. I would have taken it back. You cannot lump all Menards into this category, as different managers do different things. Unfortunately, the one nearest you is a ###. Sorry. I would have taken care of you.
military discount
Menards will price match any discount from Lowes and Home Depot except 10% military discount. They claim they will match the discount when it is advertised, but since their competitors offer it year round, they don't advertise it. Especially in a time of war it is nice to see that Menards does not support the troops and their families that sacrifice to protect our freedom, don't shop there.

It has been an on going nightmare for more than a year. The product was purchased from Menard's in Long Grove. It was installed by professional installers both times and both times failed. It has a "LifeTime Warranty" for residential use. Not so, it seems. First time it failed (25% seam defects)we were able to get a product exchange but had to pay for...
Read full review of Menards and 13 commentsnot being handicapped accesable
Menards is not handicapped accessible, I told the cashier that and he said" you could have someone push your shopping cart" Now how is that handicapped accessible if the disabled person needs to walk with the person that is pushing the cart. I will no longer shop at Menards but will go to Lowes where they have amigos/motorized carts for customers to use.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
i work at a menards store and at our store we have a motorized cart for disabled guests and if it is in use we have carry outs who would push a disabled guest around the store in one of our wheelchairs
don't wait your money back, you will get a voucher
I purchased an air conditioner from menards ( soleus ghee 6000 btu unit) the energy tag stated usage of 50.00 a year .
I used it for a couple months which increased my electric usage by 80.00 a month .
So according to my receipt, and menards I had 90 days to return for full refund then after that period I would recieve a voucher.
So I returned it before the time expired and they refused to take it off my charge card, but only would give a store voucher, even tho your receipt says they will refund, Dont believe it.
I faxed thier corp office with a complaint, with no answer so my charge card agreed to remove it from my charge card, (capital one )which I am thankful . so if you have a problem with returning something check with your charge card co, an see if they will remove it off your card . Luckily I used capital one :)and got a full refund, I still have the voucher but menards can have it back, , I will never purchase anything as a large appliance there again.
this complaint is stupid its ppl like you that but ### use it for a month or two and then try to return a product that is perfectly fine, that once used can not be returned to the shelf and gets defected out and money is lost to the companey. I mean really now obviously if you buy an air conditioner your bill will go up depending on how much you use it. Its idots like you that make working in retail a living hell, oh and p.s any store you go to has the right to refuse a refund.
rude service
Went in to use a Lowe's 10% coupon to purchase a hose hideaway & ceiling fan. Was told that I wasn't allowed to use the coupon on sale items when I had previously used it on items on sale before have the receipt to prove it. The manager Gus was rude and accused me of arguing when I was trying to have a discussion and find out when and why the policy changed and why consumers aren't notified. He was in my face and rude and completely inappropriate. I left without a purchase nor will I ever be returning. Have never had any customer service issues at Lowes and maybe I should have just used it at Lowes instead of trying to use it at Menards and give them some business. I'll be sure to be giving my business elsewhere especially considering Menards prices and customer service are so poor and completely mismanaged. I told the manager I understood policies changes, but wanted to know where I can find out the policy and he said we don't have to post every single policy we have. I said as a consumer how are we supposed to know the policy if it's not stated somewhere where we can read and have full disclosure.
Menards does not allow using the Lowes 10% coupon on sale items...never have, never will. If you received it in the past, it was in error.
terrible service
Bought about $380.00 worth of framing lumber, loaded all of our lumber and realized they were out of stock on one 14 ft microlam. After wandering around the lumberyard desert in vain pursuit of a yard person, I eventually stumbled across an assistant manager. I asked if we could have a 20 ft board cut down so we could fill our order and get back to our jobsite. Assistant manager guy was not able to answer our question and was unable to raise the manager on his radio so I had to follow him back across the lumberyard desert in search of the one person capable of making this monumental decision. We finally found the manager and after waiting for a few minutes for him to get of his phone he determined that he couldn't allow a 20 ft board to be cut but that he could allow a 17 ft board to be cut. Back across the desert with powerless assistant manager to discover that in fact there are no 17 ft boards in the racks. Assistant manager guy has bright idea of using his cell phone to reach the manager in lieu of another trek across the desert to check with manager guy to see if under the current circumstances it would be ok to cut down a 20 ft board for us so we could return to work. Manager says no. Between my employee and I we have now wasted close to an hour on this enormous endeavor to save Menards about $10 on a board. We have four employees who regularly purchase materials from Menards for our business and in our personal lives. I determined that we will not be doing any further business with this company, dumped our load in the yard and canceled our credit cards. Goodbye Menards - hello Lowe's and Home Depot!
lies and refused to honor raincheck
We got a raincheck for a 20" Eclipse bike for $19.99 with a $30.00 rebate. We called to see if any had come in and were told that you had
five. We were told that they would hold one. we immediately went 30 miles to the store in Tipp City to pick it up. When we arrived we were told that since we hadn't prepaid, we could not have a bike even with our rain check. This is not the first time we have had similar problems and it very wrong to treat customers in this way.
Sadly menards are widely different according to the store, there is a vast difference according to the people that live in the area, the fairfield township location is amazing and will work with you on most accounts. One thing alot of people don't realize is the shear ammount people that try to take advantage of stores.
no military support
I was first told my the the cashier, Pam that they supported the 10% discount, but when I showed my military Identifcation on August 10, 2010, at the store located at 21630 South Cicero Ave. in Matteson, Illinois 60443 she had to confirm it with the store manager and he came over said they only give the discount on certain holidays. This all happen at 2:46 pm. I guess I will be shopping at Home Depot and Lowes they sale the same items as Menards but they support our Military and give the discount and all of their staff has been informed of the discount.
Menards rule for military discount is to do what the competition is doing. As a rule Lowes and the Depot give the discount around Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Veterans Day. If the competitors in your area are offering the discount all the time and the Menards staffis unaware of it, then your local Menards manager is sleeping on the job. Not a reflection of company policy.
rude customer service
The customer service in Menards in Elk River, MN is so bad I do not even go there anymore. If you do have a question you just get a dismissive answer. The last time I was there my husband and I were looking to purchase cabinets for our kitchen. The employee was a snotty and rude ###. He acted like he was "too busy" to help us and he made a rude joke at my expense. The time before that we had a woman in the paint section who was a ###. They all seem to be this way there. Time after time, year after year. I think it's a prerequiste to hate customers before you are hired there. I mostly go to Home Depot or Lowes now. I've NEVER had a bad experience at either one of those. Stay away from Menards in Elk River if you want to be treated with respect!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Ya, complain, get fired, WE get treated like ###, CUSSED at, CALLED names, We are supposed to sit and be treated poorly, I would like to got to where these people work and call them the names I had gotten called and see if they agree, that it is OK to do so, SCREW MENARDS, I am a Home Depot Cust now. I spent 37 thousand last yr at Mynads. NEVEER AGIN.
If there is a problem see the General Manager. But if you want to pay higher prices go to home depot. I Am by no means making excuses for these people as I work for a menards but these people work in retail... where they get treated like crap all day. But if they are being that rude ask to see a GM...nine times out of ten he'll fire someone over guest complaints.
defective product/poor customer service
Bought a new refrigerator on Memorial Day along with 3 other big ticket items. Brought it home, removed the packaging and the refrigerator had a HUGE dent and scratch in the back and both doors had scratches on the front. Called the Menards store and spoke with the General Manager, Jerry Richards. He would not help us at all. We asked him to order a new refrigerator and deliver it to us and take the damaged one back. Well, because we did not pay to have it delivered the first time, we would have to pay him an additional $65 for him to deliver the new refrigerator. He had me in tears at the end of our phone conversation. Very rude and arrogant. We told him that we would bring everything that we bought back and he said we could but he would charge us a 25% restocking fee. We ended up taking the damage refrigerator back and asked for our money. They did give us our money back minus the $100 rebate...which I haven't received yet! And from reading some of these other posts...I may not ever get! We went across the street to Lowes and bought a new refrigerator there which they delivered for FREE! Shame on Jerry and shame on Menards! Quality customer service is very important to consumers and the Quincy store is lacking.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Can I send a stamp addressed envelope with my address and return address on the envelope so some one can not steal the rebate sign it and use it ? I do not want Menards name on the envelope. Cause the last rebate I did not get. I let you know and you said it was sent but I did not get it . So someone must of got it. Not me.
If you do get your rebate back it will be in a form of a in store credit only. I would never shop there again even though I used to work there and they let me go and never gave a reason why. When they wrote people they would make things up without the facts or even looking into it. Menards can go ### them selves
horrible customer service
My father has been a Customer of this store since they open. But I personally don't like it because theirs always representatives who are chitchatting as if there on break and or don't know what your talking about and don't help you. But anyway. My father had gone to purchase a 36" door and since they had no more my dad asked the price for the display since it was a little damage. Well the guy checked in the computer and gave him a price, he was even suppose to give him a discount of $10. Well when he got home we saw the recite that he was charged the suppose discount!
So he went back once again to see what happened. Wasting gas on a fault on there side he has a V8 truck. Well the so called Manager was accusing him of stealing the dam door! Totally insane! One he would have never gone back to the store for them $10 discount he was suppose to be given. Com on! Second they called that one guy the rep and he stated once again that the computer gave him that price..But the Manager keep saying that the price was only for the frame ($189) the door was extra. But that was not on his fault it was on the computer, the rep and or the cashier. But that one rep said it was for the whole thing!
Well they made him leave his Driver License at the store and go get the door to return it! They treated him like a thief. For a dumb door.
Well he had to come back get help to load once again and go back to the store. But this time my husband went and we were the once who called the police. It is totally ridiculous that there is not one Customer Service number to the main Branch, or to reach there district manager. They would not give you there full names or any info. If they have nothing to hide why not?!
We are totally upset and will NOT shop at Menard's and will let all my friends and family know so they shop else were.Rather go to Lowes with so far better quality and customer service!
So people be Ware of this Store!
haahaha

rebates
On 4/24/10 I purchased 21 products from Menards, 4 of which had rebates. As of yet no rebates have been received although I submitted them on time with all documentation. Whatn a rip-off. I would not have purchased these items without these rebates. Where is the consumer protection agency in WI and why are they not doin g something about this? Thank goodness there is a Home Depot in my area because apparently Menards does not want my repeat business.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
In May of this year Menards had a promotion going on for deck wash, after you mail the rebate in the deck wash is free Ha! Ha! It would be if they would ever acknowledge the rebate< I stopped at the store to ask them about it, nobody knows anything. Again I purchased an air mattress with a 5.00 rebate sent all the information in still no rebate, nobody to call, gave me a website to get on, nothing, I guess I have learned my lesson, I will not shop at Menards anymore, I will go to Lowes or Home Depot.
I have been doing Menards in store rebates for years and I never have incountered a problem. Although
you must follow the instructions to the letter.
I agree I sent in rebates for R38 in NE to total $160 and the rebate center said they never got it. They did contact me and ask for all of the purchase info which I gave them, but now they wont answer me back. I went into Menards a few times to ask about it, all they told me was it's a third party deal and they have nothing to do with it... Really? I'ts in your store but you have nothing to do with it. Thanks! Who do I contact for false advertisement?
My brother and I shopped at Menards over Christmas and we bought a lot of the same items; stocking up on the tons of free and discounted (through rebates) items that they were advertising. We live right next to each other and he received all of his rebates (over $150) and I received NONE. Our addresses are similar, but different--I'm guessing that Menards treated us as one person or one address--we're neither and this really sucks. (FYI: His address is 2417 Auto Trail and I am 2417 Auto Road---we didn't come up with these addresses, the USPS assigned them to our properties several years ago during a 911/central dispatch requirement). I notice that Menards may identify rebates only by the last name and the number--so we would appear to be the same person (same last name and same 2417 number). Menards doesn't go by anything past the number, so they would not differentiate between Trail and Road. So, am I screwed...while my brother got all of his rebates? It wouldn't be so bad, but it's $150+
Still waiting on my rebate for item no. 1221.
I have sent in for 2 rebates. I received the 3.00 rebate but never received the 20.00 rebate, they were filled out the same way and put in the same envelope because they were going to the same P.O. box.My e-mail is plr41462@aol.com. Iwould like to know were my rebate is for item no.1221. Thank You.
I can just about guarantee that you didn't fill out the rebate correctly which delays the process in which your rebate is processed and they might have just thrown it out if you didn't even come close to following the directions. Also, the rebates aren't the responsibility of Menards per se, they're issued by the company whose product you buy so that's likely why "nobody knew anything" which I guarantee they still gave you some information you just ignored it and ran out in a snuff and posted on here about it.
customer service is non existant
Employees in the store never have time for the customer. When you have a question or need help finding something the staff at Menards seem to have vanished. Where do they go? What is the point in giving these people jobs if they are never around? If you are lucky enough to get the attention of someone to find a product, my experience repeatedly has been a finger point along with "its down the aisle". Don't tell me, SHOW ME. If I wanted to search aimlessly until I stumble across the item of interest I would not be talking to you! Now, if you step into a Home Depot, this never happens. Menard's needs to make some policy changes but I will never know if they do. I won't ever go back. Too much of a pain in the but when all I want to do is get in and get out.
I am a former employee and its true they don't care about guests and their employees. The reason why no one is around is because they keep the stores understaffed so the managers can make bigger bonuses based on payroll. I have had many guests complaining of this too and its why nothing ever gets done. Its all about money for Menards over service and quality of the product. I did my best to help guests out. The training of team members is a joke and they don't help inform employees on products. They have us do in-home training which just teaches the basics and nothing on the brand or more technical stuff of the product. The reason they have bad service is because all the good employees quit and you have the dumb ### rejects left working there. Menards is not an employee friendly place and they take advantage of there workers and guests.
I have had nothing but HORRIBLE experiences with Menards in Detroit Lakes, MN. NO ONE wants to help! Ever! The paint guy took 2 HOURS to mix my paint! Actually, he didn't even do it. I had to have someone from the carpet department come do it. Today I went to look at carpet and the guy was a complete idiot. I stood in front of his post for over 10 minutes when finally he came. He did not look like he wanted to help me at all. I asked him many questions regarding purchasing carpet and when I asked him where I could find the pricing for carpet pads, he wouldn't even leave his post to SHOW me where it was, instead he just told me in a non-descriptive manner. I couldn't find it for 10 minutes and had to ask him twice! Ridiculous! At the end of my visit I spoke with a manager and told her about what happened and how it was quite frustrating that he was so unwilling to help. Instead of offering an apology of any kind she just kept saying "Oh, ok." Really? That's how they run the store? I am done wasting my time and will never be returning there. Enough is enough. Either hire people that will actually help or close down.
Ex customer. If you want to talk to a PERSON good LUK
