excessive charges for labor installing a wheel bearing
James Barreto 160 Summerton Circle East Stroudsburg, PA 18301

Dear Customer Care Service:
I am writing this correspondence to bring to your attention my unsatisfactory experience of being over-charged and subjected to unfair business practices with one of your Mitsubishi dealerships in Pennsylvania. The dealership is Haltermans Mitsubishi, located at 1752 Paradise Trl Rte. 447 East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
On 6/29/18, I was made aware that the right wheel bearing on my 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander was cracked while getting the left-side wheel bearing repaired by M1, a local automotive shop. I did not allow M1 to replace the right-side bearing since it had been replaced just the month before on 4/26/18, by Maggi Mitsubishi at 150 Shiloh Rd. State College, PA 16801. I expected that since the bearing should be under warranty by Mitsubishi Motors, I would only have to pay for the labor, given the bearing cracked so soon after installation.
On Thursday, 7/5, I brought my car into Haltermans for the replacement and explained what happened. The Service Advisor was Kristi Finkel. She suggested I drop it off and leave it overnight and the tech would inspect the vehicle in the morning (Friday, 7/6). On Friday the 6th, Ms. Finkel reached out to inform me that the bearing was not in stock and that it may arrive that evening, but there was no guarantee that the car would be ready by then.
She also mentioned that her tech, Michael Cotter, informed her that the right-side bearing looked like it was the original bearing and hub assembly, implying that it was not replaced by Maggi. Additionally, she stated that she's never heard of a wheel bearing being replaced in one hour (Maggi had billed me for 1.5 hrs). Following up on a conversation I had heard at M1, I asked Ms. Finkel if an aftermarket bearing is the same as an OEM bearing and she stated that she noticed aftermarket bearings crack more frequently than OEM but they sometimes go aftermarket to save the customer money. I then decided to have an OEM bearing installed at Haltermans; which increased my cost from $380 to $600.
After having that discussion with Ms. Finkel, I thought the Maggi/Mitsu charged me for services not rendered and I immediately notified the service manager of Maggi/Mitsu, Mr. Drew Clemson. Mr. Clemson assured me that the job was done and his tech, Steve, who serviced the car is a 40-year veteran of Mitsubishi and would never say he did something if he had not. He also said there was no way any tech can remove the tires and tell just from looking whether or not it was a replacement or an original but Mr. Clemson did say it was an after-market part that was installed at Maggi and if it was in fact broken, after replacement, they would refund us for the part. I felt he was being forthright and honest with me.
Since the part had not arrived on Friday the 6th, the vehicle remained at the shop over the weekend and on Monday the 9th, after not hearing from Ms. Finkel, I called her and inquired as to the progress of the car. She then informed me that there was an issue getting a lock nut off, and the part was still in transit and would probably arrive that evening. I asked her to have the tech check the part number on the bearing that was being removed to see if it matched with the part number on the Maggi bill, to substantiate Mr. Clemson's claim that it was done. She stated that it was so rusty and dirty that she didn't know if he'd be able to read it, but that she'd put the bearing in my car so we can see for ourselves. She also said she'd contact me on Tuesday, the 10th, to let me know if I could pick up my car.
On Tuesday the 10th, it wasn't until 3pm that a person named Melissa called me to say they were still having difficulty getting the lock nut off and were not sure it would be completed by the end of the day. Since Ms. Finkel did not inform me that she'd be off, I decided to go to Haltermans after work in case she did not convey that I needed them to save the removed bearing. It was then I met Service Manager Amanda and explained the situation. Amanda again expressed the difficulty with the lock nut being removed and that repair was still pending but assured me that when the bearing was removed, it would be placed into my car.
On Wednesday the 11th, day 6 of them having my car, again after waiting all day, my son Michael called and spoke to Ms. Finkel. He was informed that the lock nut was off but that the tech had to invest extra time on my vehicle and that would incur additional cost to me. I stated that I initially agreed to have the OEM bearing placed at Haltermans, for the agreed amount of 600 dollars and that did not include a refund for the replacement bearing. I could not believe Ms. Finkel did not mention any extra cost to me directly and I immediately called her to request that the tech not go any further if it would involve being charged more because I felt the 600 dollars was already more than I had intended to spend. I had already reluctantly agreed to the 600 because of the OEM part. She should have notified me in advance if there were going to be additional charges. Her response to me was that she had been keeping me abreast of all matters involving my car and also claimed to have saved me an extra 850 dollars because her tech took care not to break the axle of my car in removing the lock nut. Her statement was senseless to me. It suggested that her tech would have charged me if HE BROKE MY AXLE. If the tech had broken my axle he would be the responsible party, not I.
I finally received my vehicle on Thursday the 12th and my bill ballooned up from 600 dollars to 946 dollars and the explanation I received from Ms. Finkel was that the extra charges were due to the tech investing extra time to take off the bearing assembly and lock nut. I paid under protest and stated so on the receipts.
What I cannot understand is how can one Mitsubishi service station and another automotive shop manage to replace a bearing within two to three hours the most and charge me 200 to 400 dollars but Haltermans needed six days and raised my charges excessively by their tech's inability to complete the task in a reasonable timeframe. I feel this scenario was manufactured by Haltermans service department, so they can charge more money and forced my hand to pay it. It was as if my car was being held captive and if I refused payment, they'd have the right to hold my car as a lien until I pay off the increased charges. How is that fair to the customer who couldn't afford the 600 in the first place but is now forced to pay for the mechanic's failure?
In summary, the customer service I received from Haltermans was extremely poor. In the six days Haltermans kept my car, Ms. Finkel called me only once. If I didn't initiate the contact, I feel I would have been kept waiting indefinitely. I was never given an opportunity to see where the issue was; all I kept hearing was that there was a ‘hard time' getting a part off. Even though I asked for the part number of the piece being removed, I did not get it. Instead I got a part that may or may not be from my actual car. The repair took far too long. Lastly, the cost was unnecessarily inflated.
I respectfully request for Mitsubishi to look into this and assist me in obtaining a refund of the additional 346 dollars I feel overpaid Haltermans for labor and the 82 dollars paid for the replaced bearing that was installed by Maggi.
I am attaching all my supporting documents. I can be reached at [protected], if you require a conversation. I can also be reached at [protected]@msn.com. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
James Barreto

Cerritos California Mitsubishi dealer
Is almost 2 years since I got my 2016 outlander sport and ever since the first oil change they gave me hard time try to make me paid 65dollars and after arguing I did paid about 15dollars instead every time now my question to you is why when I sign the contract is said coming with 2 years free oil change today was supposed to be the last one not only they refuse todo it but they treated me with a very bad service even when I talk to the sales manager Kelly morales I believe his name is at the end he answer his cell phone and let me hanging not before make me wait about 45 minutes before I got to talk to him about the problem with the service manager Rigo Lafontaine. Very badddddd customer service so a I ended out going to the next dealer in Anaheim some 35 miles away round trip where I paid for the oil change but I don't mind the customer service there was awesome ten time better than Cerritos Mitsubishi dealer I will not go there ever Sincerely Juan Figueroa orellana 7 /10/218
mitsubishi cherry hill, new jersey dealership
I have purchased a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport from the Cherry Hill, NJ dealership on 5/24/18. At this time I traded in my 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander and the agreement in writing was that the loan for this car would be paid off. It is now 7/2/18 and my loan for this 2016 Outlander has still not been paid off. Any requests made to the dealership is being met with confusion, no one seems to know anything and I am being constantly stalled by them saying it will be paid off in a week, but then when the week is over my loan still has not been paid off. All in all a very frustrating experience.
brake problems
I purchased a Lancer manufactured in the year 2010 from Zayani Motors Bahrain.
I have been maintaining the vehicle and over the past few weeks I have observed that if I have to brake in an emergency, the brake pedal gets free and I have to either use the hand brake or swerve away to avoid a collision.
I then have to pump up the pedal several times and hold it down for a few seconds at least five to six times before the pedal returns to normal and I can drive again.
Being an experienced person I can control the car but if my young daughter drives the car she can face a very alarming situation if the brake pedal gets free when she is driving.
This is not normal for a cars brake to get free and would like to know if this is related to the ABS system failure in the car.
The Chassis no of the vehicle is JE3AB36U9AU714045 AND The Engine no is 4B11DN2181.
I Hope that Mitsubishi Motors will respond to my complaint and address this issue without any delays as this is the question of some ones life or risking the lives of other road users.
Awaiting a response
Warm Regards
Joseph Farrell

pajero
I purchased a 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero from Al Habtoor motors in August 2017.
I recently had a flat tyre and tried in vain to change the tyre with the Jack provided with the vehicel. Eventually a fellow motorist in a Toyota stopped and I had to use his Jack to change the tyre.
I do not understand how Mitsubishi can provide an inadequate Jack in there 4×4 vehicle that cannot do a basic task for changing a tyre. In would request this is looked at and changed to a more suitable Jack that works for the vehicle.
I look forward to your feedback. Thank you.
overcharged of dealer incentive
One of your dealer in Dasmarinas Cavite Philippines is charging a 6 % dealer incentive which is beyond the prevailing rate for your new Mitsubishi Expander GLS sport . They are even offering a unit (gray) color that is not my preferred color. Is your company aware of this? I feel that they are taking extreme advantage of your customer due to the scarcity of the said unit. I like your Brand because of your Adventure unit that serves my family for 20yrs. I hope your company can look into this.
warranty of my car stereo
It has been 2 and a half months to be approximate that Mitsubishi motors Corporation Baguio City has not returned my car stereo, They have pulled out the unit since March third week this 2018. And I have been following it up for almost 2and a half month and still they dont hive me a direct answer. This is still under the warranty but I dont know why they dont want to rectify the situation. It is annoying that my car doesnt have any car stereo for quite sometime.
Please help me resolve this issue.
pajero swb
Dear Sir, please assist me with a problem that I cannot resolve.
I am based in South Africa and have a problem with the latch of the console between the two front seats. it was broken when the vehicle was taken to the service station in Roodepoort (+27 [protected]) in Johannesburg about 6 months ago. my wife realized it was broken after she fetched the vehicle and immediately took the vehicle back to the dealership. She spoke to Dominic Serrao, who admitted the latch was broken by them and they would replace it.
She went there about 5 month later to find out it was the wrong part. since then we have not heard anything from them despite the fact that they promised to contact us.
My wife got hold of David Semenya on the 28th of May 2018. He is apparently the Customer Care Manager (+27 11 398 9100and he promised us that this matter will be resolved as well within a few days and he promised to have the Roodepoort Branch fix it they did not even have the decency to let us know that they will not arrive but again, nothing happened.
When I laid a formal complaint with the South African Mitsubishi I was sent an email from Dominic stating that they have the right part but do not have the technicians to fit the part, just to be informed on last Thursday that they again found out it was the wrong part. I laid another complaint via the Mitsubishi website, but it was again ignored.
i laid a complaint on www.Hellopeter.com, which is a consumer based platform for complaints and just got a generic answer back stating that the local service branch contacted me to have the part fitted and, since then, NOTHING again.
Is this normal for after sales service for Mitsubishi? If it is, I am extremely disappointed in your product. We have had numerous promises per email from David Semenya as well as Dominic Serrao but nothing has been followed through.
I want to state again that Mitsubishi admitted that it was their fault that the latch broke. In my opinion, however, I cannot see how that latch had anything to do with a service and believe that they poached ours to keep another customer happy.
If Mitsubishi does not want to replace the part, just say so. I have spent many hours on this issue and find it extremely inconvenient to have a latch jump open every time I drive over a bump

mitsubishi mirage 2014 - cvt failure at 43000 km
Hello,
My name is Vanessa Bittar. I own a Mitsubishi Mirage 2014, automatic. I would like to submit my issue since I'm very disappointed and angry with my situation. I thought that picking a japanese car would be the best choice, well I am wrong.
In November 2018 it will be 5 years that I have bought my car.
In April of 2018, the "D" and "N" started blinking. I took it to the Mitusbishi dealer. They told it is nothing and that they updated the electronic system, something like that. I took my car, happy that it is nothing important.
Then in May, same issue plus "check engine" light appeared. I took it to the dealership, on my way the check engine light disappeared but still I took it.
They took 10 days to get back to me saying they are testing and communicating with Japan. Anyways the result is CVT failure at 43.000 km! Note that I regularly take my car to the dealership for oil change and everything.
They gave me 2 options:
-asking for a goodwill from Japan. Saying they need to keep my car for 2 months (my car is still there since may 17). If the goodwill is accepted I will pay 2500$ for a new cvt. But I will have to wait 2 months for it to arrive by ship. Totally 4 months of waiting.
or
-changing my actual cvt with a used one with no warranty at 1500$.
I mean both options are terrible. I don't know what can you do about it... I just don't understand how can I have a cvt failure at 43.000 km with no apparent previous issue. I feel like it is a manufacturing defect.
Finally why does the warranty ends at 3 years and not 5 like anywhere else. I am in Beirut, Lebanon.
Thank you for reading me,
I hope I'll get an answer.
A very sad and disappointed customer : (
Vanessa.

unethical behaviour
I intended to buy a Mitsubishi vehicle ( Oulander) and sales man "Preet Bains" from
"Brampton Mitsubishi, 47 Bovaird Drive West, Brampton, Ontario, L6X 0G9" offered me ride ( pickup and drop) as I was not having car and assured me it will be quick.
my priorities was clear ( I can share email from same)
1. seven seater
2. good deal
3. need car by this weekend
he picked me up from office, among the shortlisted options
I had committed if i get deal as per my choice i will buy today
(1)for 1 : we were not able to close on price
(2)for 2 : For the 2nd option where price was right, color choice was not available with dealer and he was not committed to provide me by this weekend.
As it was taking too long, I told that I will come tomorrow and requested "Preet Bains" to drop me back as committed by him, But his manager ( sales manager ) stopped him and told me as I am not buying vehicle today, they will not drop me back.
My phone was out of battery and I don't have change . It took me an hour figure me which bus to take and as I don't have change, I come back on mercy of bus driver .
What happened to me was really shocking and insulting . It was pure show of evil.
I cannot expect this from persons associated with brand name like Mitsubishi.
I am still not able to recover from insult and mis-behaviors I faced 7-8 hours ago.
Kindly take corrective action whatever you think should be right in this case.
I think I need justice here and please make sure it does not happen to anyone else.
Thanks

safety front camera
I bought a 2018 Mitsubishi outlander sport this past February and I notice that one of the front safety cameras was not sencing near object as I was told when buying this vehicle, I took it to the dealer and they said it was working correctly because they did not see any wrong code but when we drove it for a test it worked 2 times but it fails 3 times since then it's no working at all.
Now they say that they can't do nothing to replace it.
Should I hire a lawyer for this matter?
2015 outlander sport
I bought a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and so far more than 10 recalls on the car. I do not feel safe anymore and specially now that I had a baby! It just received another call to take it back when I just took it less than a month ago. I will never buy another Mitsubishi and will talk to all my friends not to buy one. Very disappointed! Not a safe car at all, I'm done with all the recalls and if something happens I will sue you.

What is the point of buying a new car with a guarantee and even I bought a service contract if you can not solve your own car problems

outlander 2017 type 5 big problem
I really want to complain on their distributor in my country ARIAN-MOTOR.
They did not pay attention to my consecutive inquiry about 2 problem:
1. immobolizer Anti-theft alarm system deficiency on my car and
2. intense wind's noise at speed over 90 km/h and especially 100.
They should fix the problems due to their responsibility and so Mitsubishi-motors would supervise it's deal makers.
car, mitsubishi pajero 2016
I bought a Mitsubishi Pajero 2016 model from Mitsubishi distributor in Dubai . From the first day I received the car there is a sound coming from the rear brakes when the car is reversing . I submitted a complaint to the workshop several times ( more than 6 times since I bought the car ) and they are denying that there is a problem in the brake system . I don't understand how a company like Mitsubishi accept this . I got information that Mitsubishi have experts from Japan residing in Dubai and I asked the management of service at the distributor level in Dubai to consult the Japanese experts, but unfortunately they refused my request !
I lost trust in Mitsubishi, although I am a loyal customer since 1982 and this is my 4th Mitsubishi car . I would like to hear from Mitsubishi why the distributor is denying there is a problem in the brakes and why they refuse to consult the Mitsubishi experts to try to solve this problem ?! I hope that somebody from Mitsubishi contact me to explain all the details of the problem .
re: re: issue still unresolved
Hi, I'm very disappointed in your company complain bored.com never responded to my previous complaint and beginning of February. I am having so Mitsubishi for the company this is the fourth time that I had to change the brakes the 4th break is less than a year I would like to trade the car in I feel unsafe and this car is so unreliable I don't know what to do and I just would like to get rid of the car.
auto
I know how I feel is not respectful to what I have to state. In March of this year, (2017) my husband & I decided we would purchase our last vehicle before retiring. I am 64 and my husband is 68, this auto was to carry us on planned road trips and into our later years. We planned to purchase it and pay it off my Jan of 2018 (saving the funds) While at work 2 weeks ago my husband received 3 phone calls from Joel our salesperson stating that Mike should come on to refinance at a better rate than what we had with our bank, from a (5.28%) to a (1.99%). So Mike on his first day back went out to see Joel and the floor manager at Red Deer Mitsubishi. From the minute we drove up on the lot things spiraled downward. I told Mike to show me the paper work as he went through the motions of a new interest rate. Mike and I were told he had already been approved for a better rate with the Bank of Nova Scotia. In finance Mike was offered a new car and we were to turn our car in as a trade (the first Outlander for a new Outlander ...both autos were 2017. Not any different other than a brown for a blue. Mike was asked to sign off on the new one and give them a check for $2000.00 as a down payment, I was in the car in the parking lot. I told Mike to send this lady who he was dealing with at this point out to speak to me, I could not get out of the car as I am down with a auto immune problem with my joints. I told Leanne from finance that we did not have another two grand to pay and why would we when we had given a $3500.00 down for the first car. She said it was a ten year protection plan, I told her all we needed was the basic program that we had when buying the car (first one and now second one) five years protection that they came with was enough, she said she had already written it up and would now have to redo the paper work and get Mike to sign off on it, he was the person on the loan. Mike had given all in Mitsubishi permission to speak to me as the process took place. So I assumed it would be smoothly taken care
by everyone (from the salesman Joel to the finance person Leanne. It was not and we have not received one once of help to in trying to treat us like buye
bank st mitsubishi ottawa on service department
There was a recall on my airbags and was fixed in 2016 at Bank Steet Mitsubishi. Since then the light has been on intermittedly. Service won't look unless I pay $60 when they should be responsible for thier work. And when I called in january the manager told me they would look at no charge. Now he won't. The manager said maybe if inknew toy better. I bought my car here and have been coming here long before this manager was even around. Such disrespect.
My airbags remain broken, this service centre is responsible. They have always been difficult to deal with and this is just another case of them bullying people, soecifically females. They really don't care if people are safe either.
