Disappointing Experience, Lack of Customer Care
After visiting My Eye Doctor, I was left disappointed by the lack of customer care and professionalism. The staff seemed uninterested and unhelpful, making me feel unwelcome. The service did not meet my expectations, and I felt like just another number in their system. It's a shame that a place meant to care for our eyes falls short in caring for its customers. I will be looking elsewhere for my eye care needs in the future.

Prescription eye glasses experience
The customer service skills today were excellent, Maya was attentive patient and knowledgeable. She explained my coverage and met my needs. Very customer focused. Thank you for having Maya on your team. When I decided the original f frames I picked out did not compliment my face she helped me to find another pair with a smile.
Great Visit
I booked an appointment on short notice for an MVA form that i needed. Was booked for a Saturday. The visit went very smoothly at the Frederick, Md office on Worman's Mill. The Dr I was seen by, Dr. Ibrahim was great, made my visit very comfortable, went over everything that I needed to know. The Dr.'s magic tricks were an added bonus! Would highly recommend!
Attentive Julie
If U looked up the definition of customer service, it would say?Julie!
She started off, by asking me how I was?I told her I was in a car accident.
I asked, her to help me pick some frames. She showed me compassion &
Jumped up and started getting me framed to choose from. She found me some
Wonderful frames! She went over the paper work, very thorough. Thank you Julie (At a girl)
Customer service excellent service
I want to thank the customer service, Karolina and Miss Sulema. They were outstanding, and they presented the product the glasses with good quality. I was pleased with all the service I received from them. They have always been very professional and helpful, and they go above and beyond to help me and find a perfect guy to my name, I was impressed with the quality they offered and the prices, thank you to Carolina and Sulema. We will see you again next year.
Excellent experience at the Brookline location!
Thank you to the staff at the Brookline location! I can't THANK YOU enough for going beyond to see me after I arrived late for my appointment! I was going out of town for the weekend and didn't have my planner with me to reschedule the appointment! I was so surprised when I received a call from the staff at the Brookline location to come back to the office because Dr. Zappala will wait for me to return! My heart was filled with so much gratitude and appreciation! I've never had a doctor's office provide this type of customer service! With gratitude, Alicia
Disappointing Experience with MyEyeDr in Pikesville: Lack of Communication and Professionalism
I have visited MyEyeDr in Pikesville a few times in the past to get new prescriptions and have always been happy with the transitions lenses that my insurance covers. However, during my most recent visit, I requested these lenses during the ordering process but was told that I did not order them and would have to pay for them. The clerk was extremely rude and refused to help me until I asked them to review the in-store security camera footage.
After this review, the clerk finally agreed to call me but never did, despite promising to do so the next day. Being dissatisfied with the service, I called them after two days, only to be told that the order went through and I would receive the lenses in two weeks. However, it has been nearly three weeks now, and I have still not received them even though I was told they are in transit.
To be honest, I am very disappointed with MyEyeDr and their lack of communication and professionalism. I will no longer be visiting them and will make sure to spread the word about this negative experience.
Poor Service, Rude Staff, and Fragile Glasses: MyEyeDr Review
So, I had an appointment scheduled for an eye exam with MyEyeDr, and was notified that my appointment had been confirmed via email. I went through the process of checking in, both via email and in person, only to find out that my appointment had been canceled. The situation became even more frustrating when I was told that the reason they canceled was because I hadn't called to confirm! However, that was not accurate since I did make the call just yesterday. It's highly possible that they just wanted the day off. At this point, I realized that this was not the first time this has happened to me at MyEyeDr. I can't say enough about how disappointed I was with the service here. The people were absolutely rude, which left a bad taste in my mouth. In fact, I'd have to say that the customer service was just downright lazy. I would never, ever go back to this place again, and I strongly urge you to think twice before setting an appointment here. In fact, there are a number of other places that you can go that would likely be much better.
I remember when I got my glasses done by them two years ago, I had to wait around for 8 whole weeks just to get the glasses because they forgot to actually send out my order to the lab. When I finally got the glasses, I was terribly disappointed. The glasses were poorly made and were fragile. It was a huge waste of both time and money. I eventually went to Eye Med to get a new pair of glasses and found that they were better at helping me get what I was looking for in my eyewear. Looking back, I realize I should have never gone back to MyEyeDr.
In conclusion, if you are looking for good eyewear and customer service, I urge you to look elsewhere and spend your money elsewhere!
MyEyeDr's Appointment Mishap & Unhelpful Customer Service Experience
Me and my whole gang of five have been using the services of MyEyeDr for several years now. I had a scheduled appointment, so I hit the road to attend it. To my great surprise, when I got there, they claimed that I never confirmed my appointment for the day and time. They said they tried calling my phone, but I never picked up. But hold up, I checked my voicemail and incoming calls, and there wasn't a single missed call. I showed it all to them, and then they were like, "Oh, sorry, our bad."
That's not all, y'all. They showed me the phone number they dialed, and turns out, they had it typed into their system incorrectly. So basically, I drove across town for no reason, lost precious hours of work, and they didn't even offer to make it right. I heard that another company recently bought them, and maybe all the information didn't carry over in the transition. But from what I know, Dr. Bishop from Easton Eyecare is still around under the MyEyeDr brand.
I asked them if they could help me out by fitting me in for another appointment, since they were the ones who messed up in the first place. Instead, they gave me the cold shoulder and said that they couldn't see me for at least two months. Like, really? No apology, zero sympathy, just basically telling me to get lost. After that kind of treatment, I swear, MyEyeDr lost all five of us as faithful clients.
MyEyeDr: Disappointing Customer Service and Lack of Communication
I had been needing a check-up and a new pair of glasses, so I went ahead and booked an appointment with MyEyeDr a few weeks in advance. Since I work on weekdays, I had to book it on a Saturday morning and made sure to arrive exactly at my scheduled time of 9 a.m.
Unfortunately, I was told that my appointment had been cancelled without any notification on their part. I was taken aback and frustrated, especially since I had been a loyal customer for many years. To make matters worse, I was only given an option to reschedule two weeks later in December.
What baffled me even more was that there was someone else already there, hoping to get their eyes checked, but their paperwork had gone mysteriously missing so they could not proceed. Meanwhile, the optometrist did not make an effort to attend to them and instead left them hanging while I was turned away without being informed.
To be honest, I was disappointed and maybe even a little angry, because what happened was entirely preventable and yet MyEyeDr failed to uphold its commitment to its customers. Needless to say, after much contemplation, I'm considering other options like Warby Parker, as I've had enough of these types of incidents.
Disrespectful and Unprofessional Service at MyEyeDr in Tallahassee, FL
So, lemme tell you about my experience with MyEyeDr. I had an appointment set for February 10th, 2023, at 2:20 in the afternoon at their Tallahassee, FL location. The day before, on February 9th, they called me up to confirm that I'd be there. I was all set and they said they'd see me tomorrow.
Well, I got there at 2PM, a little early to make sure I was on time and everything. But when I went up to the receptionist and told her I had an appointment at 2:20, she looked at me like I was nuts. She was all like, "We ain't got no doctors here, stupid." Okay, maybe she didn't say "stupid", but she was real rude about it.
I tried to explain that I had the appointment and everything was confirmed and double-checked the day before, but she just wouldn't listen. Finally, after making me feel like a fool, she checked her computer and said that the doctor had called and left a message canceling on me. But I didn't get no call like that! All I got was the confirmation call the day before.
She didn't believe me, even though I had the message saved on my phone and showed it to her. She was so dismissive and rude, like she didn't care at all that they had messed up and inconvenienced me. I was so ticked off, and I told her I was gonna take my business somewhere else.
But she still never apologized, not once. It's like they don't care about the people who come in there at all. I mean, I get that things come up and mistakes happen, but that's no excuse for being rude and disrespectful to customers. I wouldn't trust these folks to take care of my eyes if they don't even care about treating people right. So, yeah, I'll be giving MyEyeDr a hard pass from now on.
MyEyeDr Review: Unprofessional and Money-Driven with No Compassion for Patients
Oh boy, let me tell you, my experience with MyEyeDr was a total disaster! I had an appointment in Lakeland, which is an hour drive from Tampa, and I arrived just eight minutes late. Can you believe it? Eight minutes! And what did those receptionists tell me? They told me that my appointment was moving on the next day! Just because I didn't make it within their ridiculous ten-minute grace period.
I'm not going to lie, I was so frustrated. I'd been driving for over an hour to get there, only to be told that I had to go back the next day. That's some nonsense, right there. But I didn't give up, no way. I decided to talk to the office manager, but even she wasn't much help. It seemed like nobody at that place cared about their patients at all.
Don't get me started on the money they charge either. They are all about the money, and not about the people. Sure, they have busy doctors, but turning away a patient just because they were ten minutes late? That's just ridiculous. I work at a physician's office, and we never turn anyone away just because they're running a little late. That's not how you treat people.
All in all, if you're looking for an ophthalmologist that actually cares about its patients, I'd say stay away from MyEyeDr. There are plenty of other options out there, and I'd highly recommend finding one that's more patient-oriented. Save yourself some time and go somewhere else!
Not Reliable and Slow: MyEyeDr's Dupont Circle Location Review
This review is all about MyEyeDr's Dupont Circle location, and it ain't pretty! They ignore messages like it's cool and sent back the initial lenses that were supposed to be used for checking out frames. It has put me in trouble because I had to wait for them to get the lenses back. After waiting for weeks and telling that the lenses are in, the frames were not as discussed. They were narrow instead of round that was agreed upon. They had to send back the frames, which meant that I had to wait for weeks again. After that, the frames were STILL wrong!
The supervisor, Armando, offered me a refund without any proper explanation - not even about why they can’t offer what was discussed! They stopped responding to me altogether, including not responding to the confirmation of how much they will refund me. I even asked if I needed to speak to anyone in particular - they wouldn't respond regardless!
I went to their corporate office to get some answers and they were a bit helpful at first. But eventually, they too refused to answer questions about my prescription. In the end, I still got a full refund. However, I am not clear about the prescription, and I’ll need to go someplace else for a fresh eye exam and get what I need from them.
All in all, MyEyeDr's Dupont Circle location is not reliable. The response time is extremely slow, and they don't seem to listen to customer needs. It seems like they don't care about getting things right either.
MyEyeDr: Damaged Lenses, Poor Communication, and Disappointing Experience
I recently visited MyEyeDr to get a new prescription for my contacts. I wear glasses as well, but I decided not to replace the lenses as they are expensive. During my visit, I also asked to have my glasses adjusted. The girl who assisted me adjusted them and returned them to me. However, I noticed that everything looked foggy and blurry when I put them on. After examining the lenses in my car, I discovered that there were a lot of scratches on both lenses.
I immediately informed the front desk staff of the issue, and they instructed me to wait for a manager. After waiting for 45 minutes, the manager arrived and explained that the lenses had melted, resulting in cracks on them. She also mentioned that a waiver should have been signed, but I never received that information, and the girl who adjusted my glasses did not inform me that my lenses would be heated up. I would not have agreed to this if I had known. Unfortunately, the best the manager could do was offer a 40% discount on new lenses that cost over $600. This was their mistake, and I had to pay for it.
To make matters worse, a week later, I received a call from MyEyeDr stating that the lens tracing was incorrect, leading me to come back to have it redone. I was very disappointed with my experience, and I would not recommend MyEyeDr to anyone. They damaged my lenses, failed to inform me how they were adjusting them, and made me pay for something I did not need. Overall, it was a waste of my time and money.
Mixed Experience at MyEyeDr: Great Doctor, Professional Staff, but Rude New Employee and Questionable Practices
Dr. Coccia is such an amazing physician. I gotta say, he's got the qualities that you would want in a good doctor. He's really nice and approachable. He's also a very smart guy and knows what he's doing. I mean, he really listens to you when you talk, which is something that other doctors don't really do. You know what I'm saying? Like, they're always just dictating things, you know? But not Dr. Coccia. He's got a real chair side manner that puts you at ease.
And let me tell you about the staff. Lynn, who works at the front desk, and Laura, who is Dr. Coccia's tech, they're just as professional as the doctor is. They really know their stuff and they're always super compliant with the doctor's orders. But, there's this new girl, Nicole, who was really rude and unprofessional. I'm not even exaggerating when I say that. She messed up my husband's appointment and when I tried to explain it to her, she just cut me off twice and gave me the phone number for their Relations Department.
I told her that she wasn't even listening to me and that she was being rude. And you know what she did? She sighed in frustration and repeated that she could give me the number for the Relations Department. When I asked to speak with Lynn or the manager, she just said "Have a good day" and hung up on me. That was really disrespectful and I won't tolerate that kind of behavior, especially when I'm spending my hard-earned money.
But, despite all of that, Dr. Coccia is just too good to let go. I mean, I know that MyEyeDr is tryna make some money, but patient care should always come first. They have this new practice of confirming your appointment times or else it will automatically cancel. And they have this weird thing where staff are constantly coming and going, from contact lens staff to management. They also schedule appointments without any consideration for overlapping times, just to maximize the doctor's schedule. And don't even get me started on their limited selection of frames.
As someone who's been a patient for years, I'm really starting to question whether or not I want to come back. It's just not worth it to put up with that kind of disrespect.
Unbelievable fees and poor service at MyEyeDr - steer clear!
Holy smokes, I gotta tell y'all, steer clear of MyEyeDr like the plague! My poor daughter went in for her yearly exam in October, which is normally covered by insurance, and it was a total debacle from start to finish. They charged us a gazillion times over, first with a ridiculous $150 for the eye exam (which we still had to co-pay for), then tacked on an extra $140 for the lens exam AND another $40 for the glasses exam. Are you kidding me? What in the world do they think they're doing?
When my girl tried to ask about all these extra fees, they totally brushed her off and refused to give her any clear answers. And when I went in the next day to try and sort things out, their supervisor Joseph was just as unhelpful. He said it was "normal" to charge twice for new patients, but didn't give us any written consent or anything to show where all these charges were coming from. And when we asked them to adjust the bill or help us figure things out with insurance, they just told us to go ahead and try that if we wanted to. Real nice.
The worst part was definitely the actual exam itself. It took nearly an hour, and the doc was rushing around like a madman, barely giving anyone the time of day. I mean, what's the point of having an eye exam if you're not actually going to check things out carefully? And then, to top it all off, they messed up my prescription and the staff was downright rude and unhelpful.
Honestly, it's just not worth it. They can't hold us hostage like that and make us pay through the nose without telling us what we're getting into. We normally go to the Preston clinic, but we had to find a different one for a night appointment. Won't be making THAT mistake again, that's for sure. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else, folks.
MyEyeDr Complaints 13
Beware of multiple charges with incorrect eye examination and no questions being answered!
Beware! Never again! My daughter visited MyEyeDr for regular annual eye exam in October, this exam is always covered by Insurance. The whole visit experience was fraught with issues. They added multiple charges to the card. On one hand they fully charged our Insurance $150 for the eye exam (plus charges us co-pay), additionally they also up-charged with additional $140 for lens exam! Plus $40 for the glasses exam. How very ridiculous! They did not offer proper explanation for up-charging or take any prior consent. When she questioned the charges they did not provide appropriate explanation. They refused to 'bill later' and asked her to pay in full, before she left premises. I visited the facility, the very next day and met with front desk agent as well as supervisor Joseph. He basically said that for the new patients they charge twice, one for eye health check-up, second for eye test. They did not provide me with any patient consent copy for all these charges, and said this was all discussed verbally! I asked them to resolve the billing issue if they did not want me to raise a dispute with Insurance. He basically said, go ahead and do whatever, this is how we bill. Multiple charges were added on the card and none of my questions were addressed, not to mention no proper explanation for the services and what they entailed. We normally visit Preston clinic and this was first time with MyEyeDr, due to need for evening appointment timing. Ended up paying 3X in charges plus tolerate the indifferent behavior. Never again! The eye exam at MyEyeDr took almost an hour and the doctor was in an extreme haste with little to no time for each patient and it felt very rushed and half-completed. My prescription was incorrectly written and service was very rude and unkind. You cannot hold patients hostage on your premises and charge whatever without proper consent.
General manager
1:00pm 10/9/2023
The General manager is very rude she get frustrated when there’s a large crowd. The employees does not communicate with each. They just give there issue to another employee that has no clue what’s going on.
They gave me wrong information to where I had to make two trips Horrible customer service and very lazy. It is not fair for a customer to call there ophthalmologist for them to understand that there was no issue with the prescription TWICE!
Desired outcome: None they were very rude

Subject: Formal Complaint Against MYEYEDR - Westfield Rd., Charlottesville, Virginia
Dear [Sir/Ma'am]
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to officially lodge a complaint against MYEYEDR, particularly the branch located on Westfield Rd. in Charlottesville, Virginia. My name is Sankofa Alkebu-lan, and I am a dissatisfied customer who has experienced several significant issues during my interactions with your establishment.
First and foremost, I would like to address the poor customer service I encountered at MYEYEDR on Westfield Rd. on multiple occasions. The staff seemed indifferent and unresponsive to my needs, displaying a lack of professionalism and failing to provide the level of service that one would expect from a reputable eyewear provider. The dismissive and inattentive behavior of your staff made me feel as though my concerns were not valued or taken seriously.
Furthermore, I am deeply disappointed by the fact that MYEYEDR on Westfield Rd. sold me damaged products. Upon receiving the eyewear I purchased, I immediately noticed scratches on the left arm of the frames. This demonstrates a lack of quality control and suggests that the branch may not prioritize customer satisfaction. It is astonishing that such substandard products were even allowed to leave your premises.
Lastly, I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the unprofessionalism displayed by the staff members at MYEYEDR on Westfield Rd. Their actions and demeanor fell well below the expected standards of professionalism. This not only tarnishes the reputation of MYEYEDR but also undermines the trust that customers should be able to place in the expertise and reliability of your staff.
Taking into account these grievances, I kindly request that MYEYEDR thoroughly investigates the issues I have outlined and takes appropriate action to rectify them. I propose the following resolutions:
1. An apology from MYEYEDR for the poor customer service and unprofessional behavior exhibited by your staff members.
2. Replacement of the damaged products I received, ensuring that they are of satisfactory quality.
3. Improved staff training and customer service protocols to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

I trust that MYEYEDR will value my concerns and undertake the necessary steps to address and rectify the issues raised in this complaint. As a loyal customer, I believe in the potential for improvement and hope that this experience can be used as an opportunity for positive change within your organization.
I look forward to a prompt response within [specify a reasonable timeframe]. Please be advised that if no satisfactory resolution is reached, I may be compelled to escalate the matter further.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I believe that, by addressing these concerns effectively, MYEYEDR can regain its reputation as a trusted provider of quality eyewear and superior customer service.
Yours sincerely,

MyEyeDr Review: Changes in Office Atmosphere and Lack of Consistent Care
I've been a customer of MyEyeDr (previously known as Allegheny Optical) located in FSK Mall for quite some time now. I have to say, I've noticed some changes throughout the years. I miss the old days where the office felt like a family environment. Nowadays, it seems more like a used car showroom than a caring and comfortable place for eye care.
While I appreciate the variety of staff members available to help, I've grown frustrated with never seeing the same doctor twice. It always feels like I'm being passed around between different clinicians who lack experience and knowledge. It's not a great feeling when you don't trust or feel comfortable with the person checking your eyesight.
I've also noticed a considerable increase in young and inexperienced personnel that seem to be pushed for commission sales rather than providing quality care. It's understandable that a business needs to make a profit, but it shouldn't be the focus over patient care.
Unfortunately, when I've reached out to the corporate office to share my concerns, it's been impossible to talk to someone in leadership beyond the local office level. It's frustrating when you feel like your opinions and complaints aren't being taken seriously.
In conclusion, while MyEyeDr has some positive aspects, the changes in the office and the lack of consistent care have made it difficult to recommend them. I hope they can make improvements to provide the quality service that their patients deserve.
MyEyeDr Disappoints: Won't Let Me Change Contact Lens Type Despite Having a Year Supply
So, like, I had an experience with the Newport, KY MyEyeDr office, ya know? I got myself a whole year supply of those 2-week lenses right there in their office. But then, I wanted to try out a different kind of lens, like one that changes my eye color and stuff. So, I ordered it from that 1-800-contacts place, but MyEyeDr wouldn't let it happen. The doc was all like "nah girl, you were only fitted for that specific lens and no other!" So, now I gotta go back and get another visit just to change up the type of lens, which is, like, so disappointing and frustrating, ya know? I mean, I've been wearing contacts longer than that doctor has even been alive! And this kind of thing has never happened to me before, until now. So, I'm not gonna go back there anymore. Plus, I don't even have insurance anymore, but even if I did, it wouldn't cover two fittings in one year anyways. So, that's my story.
Great Eye Care at MyEyeDr, but Beware Insurance Restrictions
Yo, I wanna talk about MyEyeDr. It's a pretty cool place to get your eyes checked, ya know? They got all the fancy machines and stuff, and the people who work there are nice as heck. But let me tell you, I got some beef with my insurance, Caremark. They keep telling my doctor what meds he can and can't prescribe, even though it's been working for me for the past decade. I mean, come on, who do they think they are? So, yeah, if you're looking for a good place to get your eyes checked, MyEyeDr is the spot. Just watch out for those insurance bullies.
Unfair Charges for Contact Fitting at MyEyeDr Review
Man, so I went to MyEyeDr and let me tell you, they be trippin'. I got insurance so I thought, cool, I can get a free eye exam. But these folks tried to charge me for contact fitting just 'cause I wear contacts. What kinda shade is that? I straight up told them I just want my free exam and that I get my contacts from 800 Contacts, so they can call them to confirm my prescription. But nope, they still wanted to charge me 80 bucks for "fitting". Like, contacts come in one size, how hard is it to fit them? I've been wearing them for 5 years, I think I know how to do it by now. I ain't never going back to this shady company again, no way. I straight-up walked out, I ain't payin' for something my insurance covers for free.
MyEyeDr (myeyedr.com): A Disappointing Experience with Poor Quality Glasses
it is like the worst place ever.
MyEyeDr (myeyedr.com) let's just say, it was not a good experience for me. I was so excited to get my new Coach frames with Progresso scratch resistance glasses, but what a let down it was. I was really hoping for something that would be good for my eyes, but unfortunately my hopes were dashed. I am sorry to say that I feel very discouraged, disappointed and like it was a total waste of money. These glasses are definitely not scratch resistant, they smudge easily, and it is always a struggle to keep them clean. Even cleaning solution doesn't help! I am really not impressed with the glasses.
Honestly, it is really frustrating to spend so much money on glasses and then not get the quality and performance that you expect. This experience was a real eye opener for me, and now I know that I will have to be more careful in the future when I get new glasses.
I really wouldn't recommend MyEyeDr (myeyedr.com) based on my experience. It is just not worth it. The glasses were a huge disappointment, and I don't want anyone else to waste their time or money there. Please go somewhere else if you really want good quality glasses that will do the job properly. I wish that I had known this beforehand, it would have saved me so much frustration and hassle.
Overall, I just feel really let down and upset about the whole experience. MyEyeDr (myeyedr.com) is definitely not a place that I would recommend to anyone if you're looking for great quality and value. It's just not worth it. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else for your eyeglasses.
MyEyeDr in Harrisonburg, VA Review: Disappointing Experience, Poor Service & Communication
Yo, lemme tell you 'bout my experience at MyEyeDr in Harrisonburg, VA. So, I hopped on their website and set up an appointment all easy-peasy. But then I got a call sayin' their computer was busted and I needed to call them directly. I'm thinkin', "okay, whatever, I'll call 'em." I get on the horn and make the appointment for high noon. They even text me confirmation and I'm feelin' good.
Now, picture me rollin' up to the spot, ready for my eye exam. But then they hit me with some BS talkin' 'bout how my appointment was at eleven. Like, nah son, I got proof that it was supposed to be at twelve. But these fools weren't havin' it and straight up refused to see me. I asked for a number to lodge a complaint and even that was too much for 'em to handle. So, I called up corporate and filed my beef but the lady on the phone was straight up clueless. I told her three times my appointment was at noon and she asks me if that's morning or night?
I ain't even got words for how disappointed I am with these jokers. They don't deserve no rank, that's for sure.
MyEyeDr's Prescription Policy Is a Rip-Off: Frustration Over Sunnies Replacement
Can you believe the sheer frustration I feel with MyEyeDr? Over the past two years, I have gone for multiple eye appointments. The docs are great and I have been happy with the service I receive. I had surgery for cataracts about two years ago and had to get several pairs of glasses since. Unfortunately, I misplaced my sunglasses and need a replacement pair right away. Can they just give me a copy of my prescription so that I can get a replacement? Nope! Not so easy with MyEyeDr. They claim that the prescription is only good for a year, and I need to come in for another appointment to get a fresh copy. Who has time for that kind of nonsense? I know for a fact that my eyes haven't changed since my surgery, so why should I have to shell out another $100+ for an appointment just to get a piece of paper that they should have given me in the first place? It's a complete rip-off, and it seems like they are just trying to get more money out of me for no good reason. All I want is my sunglasses back!
Poor Quality Lenses and Incompetent Lab: MyEyeDr Review
MyEyeDr (myeyedr.com) has really let me down. The quality of their lenses is consistently poor, and on top of that, they can't even get my frames right. To make matters worse, CEO Sue Downes seems to be completely disconnected from the problems - when there are mistakes made in the lab, she sends a generic email and leaves it up to the store manager to deal with the fallout. This isn't fair - the lab is responsible for making the lenses, so they should be held accountable for their mistakes.
I've gone through three rounds of wifi tests and two rounds of glasses orders, and I still don't have a working pair of glasses. The regular store personnel have been great, and my doctor is fantastic, but one temp employee managed to get everything wrong with our glasses orders. It's really frustrating that this one employee's mistake(s) are ruining my experience with MyEyeDr.
At this point, I don't think I'll be returning to MyEyeDr unless I can either get exactly what I ordered or a full refund. I'm still waiting for resolution on my current issue, and it's just really sad that this is how things have gone. I hope that MyEyeDr can improve the quality of their lenses and take more responsibility for the mistakes made in the lab.
Disappointing Experience with myeyedr.com: Poor Prescription, Lacking Customer Service
So, let me tell you about my experience with myeyedr.com. I went there for my eye exam and after 10 months of several eye exams & reissue of glasses, I had to leave them behind on Saturday. This time (3x) the prescription was worse than the others. The other I could at least read with them but could not see far or on a computer. I was pretty disappointed and upset about this. However, myeyedr.com credited me for the actual glasses for "numerous inconveniences" which was a good gesture, but they would not refund the amount of my eye exam(s). I thought that was pretty unfair considering that I had invested so much time and money already. They handed me the prescription so I could go elsewhere. I asked them "what good is this prescription anywhere else when I can't see out of the glasses?" and the response was just "I don't know".
Honestly, I expected better customer service from myeyedr.com. It was such a hassle to keep going back and forth. I mean, after 3x, they still couldn't get it right? I think that it's unacceptable. I also think that they should have refunded me for my eye exam as well since they were unable to get this right after 3x. It's not like I was asking for something that I didn't deserve. They were unable to fulfill my basic request of helping me see better.
Despite all this, I must say that the atmosphere of the store was pretty cool. It was clean and felt welcoming - although I didn't feel like I was showing that sort of appreciation on my third visit. I also think that it's worth mentioning that the glasses that I did receive looked pretty stylish, but the aesthetic of the glasses is kind of moot if you can't see out of them properly.
Overall, my experience with myeyedr.com was not great. I had to leave them behind and I'm pretty sure I'm not going back. I think that they need to work on their customer service and their ability to fulfill a customer's basic needs when it comes to eye care.
Poor Customer Service and Warranty Policy at MyEyeDr Potomac Mill Location
I was really hoping to give MyEyeDr a great review, but unfortunately I had a pretty bad experience. I bought a pair of glasses from them at the Potomac Mill location in Woodbridge, VA back in 2015. Unfortunately, a few months ago the plastic coating on the right temple of the frame cracked.
I called MyEyeDr to see what my options were, and they informed me that this issue wasn't covered under their warranty. I was really disappointed to hear this. I feel like if you buy something and it's defective, the company should take responsibility for it.
To make matters worse, they told me to contact the frame manufacturer for a warranty repair. But I don't have any contact information for the manufacturer, so I'm pretty much stuck. It seems to me like MyEyeDr should be the one responsible for the defective frame they sold me, not the customer.
Overall, I'm really unhappy with the way this situation was handled. I don't want to pay $135 for a new frame when I could buy a new pair of glasses from another website for only $39. I'll definitely be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

So true. My wife's on her third pair of lenses not made correctly by their local lab since May '24. So maddening.
