I have just purchased a brand new sony hdtv xbr55hx929 series (Four weeks ago) from pc richard on 317 route 17 south in paramus, bergen county, new jersey. Within 2 or 3 days of purchasing the tv it had sound problems, the sound would intermittently go off and on. I called the store and they sent couple of installers to fix it. They did not do anything (Except for booting the cable box) and said that the tv was fine.
I called the store again and after lots of arguments with a sales person he agreed to exchange it. The second t.V. (Supposedly new) arrived and within an hour of its installation it started showing a blurry and ghosty picture.
I called the store again to complaint and again they sent another installer who was supposed to be an "expert". He said that standard t.V. Channels should look like blurry on hdtv! ! And that the tv was fine!. Despite the fact that the picture was blurry on both standard and high definition channels, he bascially said that the picture should look blurry!.
I went to the store again and i asked them to exchange it as it was clearly defective. The store manager and his assistant refused to exhange it. The store manager james just did not care and was quite rude and just did not want to talk to me at all. After another lengthy discussion with the assistant manager he said that he would call me and send -yet- another technician to my home to check it out; otherwise they would never exchange the t.V. And it was mine even though it was defective.
I refused to have another technician come to my home only to say that the tv was fine and that the picture should look blurry!.
They said that their policy was that as long as the tv turns on then it was fine and would never exchange it.
I called the pc richard headquarters and spoke to someone who claims to be a manager of customer help or care.
He said that pc richard policy is never to exchange anything as long it turns on and off!.
I am now stuck with a defective t.V. That shows blurry pictures for which i paid us$1600 !.
This is unfair, and unacceptable policy towards customers.
Please be careful of pc richard return policy. They are deceptive. Be careful. They decieved me and sold me a tv with blurry pictures for us$1600. Pc richard says that all hdtv sets show standard t.V. As blurry !
Pc richard will not refund or exchange any t.V. Over 30"!. In other words they do not return or exchange expensive items . Buyer be careful.

I bought a tv and purchase a 5 years warranty and tried to get extra 5 years. Charlie told me they dont not extend tv waranties. I have it on my waranty papers but they still do not honor it.

P.C. Richard & Son does not offer any extensions on any electronic products beyond the 5 years that can be purchased at the time of the original sale. We do offer renewals up to 10 years on all major appliances.

They delivered a damaged refrigerator so had to reschedule for the next day. When they came the next day they did not ring my buzzer but rather called the superintendent and said they didn't know where they were supposed to deliver. They had my cell phone number as well as the management company's phone number but didn't bother to call either one. The biggest problem is that they didn't just ring the buzzer.

I purchased some appliances with Joe Botros Jr.8246 was making monthly payments without an interest. Without being aware that the promotion date expired, they charged me with $836.82 interest on a balance of $2, 007. I have asked them to lower the interest but they refused. I am so upset. They are now charging me for a 29% interest. It's going to take me forever before I could pay this account off.

This is the worst store on the planet. I bought a Samsung 46" LCD from them in October and recently had an issue where the base of the TV magically exploded in the middle of the night. I went to the store in Paramus and one of the managers named James said he would take care of it and order me a new stand. Well ladies and gents, it is now Novemer 7th and I have yet to receive my stand or even a call back. Terrible customer service!

I love GE Money BANK now known as GE CAPITAL RETAIL BANK.. Iwas late once on a payment and they waived it and said that they always waive once in a twelve month period as a courtesy.. How nice of them to give me a chance when it was my fault to begin with. I am going to buy a new bedroom and living room set this weekend and am driving an extra 30 miles to go to the store that uses GE CAPITAL as their finance company. I would recommend this finance company to anyone that comes into contact with them. GREAT RATES.. GREAT SERVICE ! Do not let those other guys with the negative comments fool you, all they really expect is for you to be responsbile for your end of the deal.. which means PAY YOUR BILL.. and you will be fine :)

I called GE Money on September 8, 2010, and the customer service agent, Ann, said it was a violation of FTC regulations to charge me for a product I had not received, and stated it was possible to reverse the charges and keep the account open...
...To date, September 25, 2010, the charges continue to exist on my GE money account, and therefore have not been reversed, and I have not received my $600 deposit...

STAY AWAY!

Great store if you need to buy something but good luck if something should go wrong. Their return/exchange program is impossible to navigate. James (store mgr) seems to be "in charge" and he is a compete ### with zero customer service skills.

I bought a warranty from PC Richard for my computer for 5 years from 2006 to 2011. When the contract was over, I bought another one for 5 more years, 2011 to 2015. My computer crashed, I took it to the store like I used to do for repair. The manager James told me it's not possible because the employee who had sold me the warranty had made a mistake, I can only have a refund.

I purchased all four kitchen appliances in a bundle purchase in 2012 from Joe Botros Jr.8246.. I refused extended warranty at that time. They recently began calling me every day on my cell phone (I did not give them the number). My experience in 2012 with delivery and installation was so bad that I had already decided that I would never make another purchase from PC Richard & Son in paramus NJ. I just want them to stop calling.

i just purchased a lg 60 inch plasma from the pc richard store in norwalk ct and they told me to just check for damaged glass because they said that was the oly thing they didnt cover so they barley opend the box and i ran my hand over the screen and it looked good so i ask him can i lay it down in the back of my pickup he says yeah and his guy loads it in the truck and i take it home i notice on the back there is a huge dent and both sides are buckled and when i get it in the light and im looking at the screen and behind the glass the screen inside is all cracked so i call them imedietly and they say to come bring it back in so i do that and the guy brings it in direct light and goes it didnt leave the store like this, it would never have left the store like this, what an ###. So im arguing with him and it gets no where so i have to call the district manager and now im waiting on that .And the next day my 13 year old son is on the internet and he finds out you are never supposed to lay a plasma on its back because of all the stress on the glass and i call LG the manufacturer and the say the same exact thing, And also that the guy was not supposed to have it on its side when he had it on the doly . so i called them back up and they said it was fine the way they loded it, im like i spoke to the manufactrer and your not supposed to do it like that i get nowhere there so im just waiting for tommorow for the district manager to call me and if i still cant return/exhange it im gonna take it to court they are totally wrong if you want a tv or any ecectronic go to bestbuy not these idiots by the way the guys names were Mark Murray (7892) and Mike the manager (the dick)

I spent 10 minutes looking at refrigerators and no one offered to hep me so I went to the front desk and they paged a salesperson. 10 minutes later I walked out of the store without ever being helped. With such lousy service before the sale I can only imagine how bad the service is after they have your money.
I rate them no stars but the system does not consider 0 a rating

I called various times to combine two accounts together. All customer service agents confirmed that it would be done, but it wasn't. Supervisors at Paramus opened the second account and advised me that the two could be combined. I have incurred late fees as a result of the confusion between both accounts. This is still not resolved and PC Richard & Son has not helped in resolving the late fees or the combination of both accounts.

My washing machine broke like 3 months ago. The technician said the wires were destroyed and that voided the warranty. That statement is not true. I have pictures of it to prove it. This thing has been going on too long and they just can't fix it. I called the store manager James and he can't help me. I called the service department. They did not call back.

I bought a 51" Samsung Ambilight plasma TV three years ago, and all of a sudden, there is a red light that comes on at the lower left corner of the TV. The TV does not come on anymore. What a piece of garbage! I did not see this coming. It was working fine just two days ago. I have unplugged the TV and cable box, and have rebooted the cable box, but the red light remains and the TV won't turn on.

When you have an issue or problem with the product you bought from them you are out of luck and own youyr own. They need to change how they deal with customers after they made a purchase. They are very rude and unprofessional. I will never buy anything from PC Richards...

I went to pc richared & son on Route 17 in Paramus, i walked around a bit looking, I was attempting to get the atention of a sales person Joe and they took notice of me and then turned there heads as if i did not exsit. there were many foreign sales person and seems not one american. I feel I was discrimated against. and i will never shop at p c richard & son again,

Never ever buy a GE product! Especially at PC RICHARD! The worst experience you could ever imagine! First, GE Products have a history of at least past 3 years of extremely poor quality control. Over a 96% premature failure rate!

GE Money Bank has started calculating the average daily balance on an amount higher than the card balance with no change in rate, no charges, no promotional rates ending... we have tried several times by phone with Joe Botros Jr. 8246 and no one in the paramus company can explain why they are calculating our interest on an amount we don't owe.

I called for extended warranty service 10:20AM, July 18, 2012 on my TV. I was told someone would call me back. in 20 minutes. It is now 02:10PM and still no call. I think your service SUCKS. I will never buy another item at P C Richard & Son in Paramus. I do not like talking to a person in another country, that can't speak English. Is this the way you treat your customers. I will call the BBB.

I paid cash for an Apple computer but they were sold out of the model and I was told it would arrive in the store by next week so I returned to the store and still no computer so I was told to come back in 10 days and I returned and still no computer so I just asked for my money back I thought I would get my money back in cash because thats what I gave them, then I was told they don't give cash back they would have to send me a check that would take 7-10 days well it's been 15 days and still no check!

With in the last 3 weeks the plasma will not turn on..and the lcd 42" only has half screen left half black.

Very disappointed.. will be paying store a visit . also recently purchased 22" touchscreen desktop... a double door black refrigerator.

And a black electric stove... and a 60" mitsubishi projection tv.. every thing worked just fine until a week both tvs are messing up. u guys sent a repair company out of new jersey.

Now saying it will cost 500.00 to fix 50" i will b conmtacting my attorney about this mess...I am very disappointed...

Its a TOTAL SCAM…Everything, before during and after the sale (as they say.)First and foremost, they opened multiple credit cards in my name without my knowledge, saying that I was simply being sent a "new card" and blatantly lied to my face as the salesman Ari reassured me that my credit was not being run, which should be illegal if it isn't already.And, from other complaints I've read this has apparently been going on for some time as well as there have been charges of the misuse and theft of personal information.

Additionally they attempted to insidiously and grotesquely over charge me.Taking advantage of a customers kind nature and reluctance to be forced into haggling and arguing, I was told I was getting a discount and when in fact I came to discover that I had paid far more for the item than I would have paid at any of there competitors. So much for their price guarantee. All they do is jack up prices and make you feel as if your getting a discount, and despite their supposed "love" for the local community, have been ripping people off for years...lies and trickery. When I attempted to cancell my order at the Paramus location, I was left waiting, staring at the clock and missing a previous engagement I had while the utterly incompetent employees passed the buck up the .

When I was finally addressed, I was met with the store's managers rolling eyes and spoken down to disrespectfully. (So bad in fact that the only halfway being for an employee in the building had took it upon himself to apologize for the actions of his peers and managers) Also, the salesman Ari on the floor gathered to watch as if my wife and I were some sort of spectacle. The entire staff was completely rude and unprofessional, from the girl chattering on her cell phone playing with her nails ignoring customers to the sales staff and ESPECIALLY management. From what I understand this is a very old company and was founded in good faith and pride in the care for the customer.

Whoever runs the company now however should be ashamed to have disgraced the good faith of their founder for he surely is rolling over in his grave. I will never step foot into that pit of thieving, coniving, shiftless snake oil salesmen ever again. Management acts as if they are too good to deal with you and arrogantly strut about the store as if they believe they are wall street big shots. As we were trying to work out my issue, the sales people on the floor surrounded us with arms crossed and whispering amongst each other leaving us to feel even more pressured!.

My wife said it was one of the most uncomfortable situations she had ever been in". Not to mention the creepy ogling and staring;. They clearly must make many women feel uncomfortable and no man should let his wife go there alone/. The salesman Ari, smelling of gatlic, had a predatory look in there eyes and dealing with them makes you feel as if your at a back room poker game?.

Upper management in this corporation should be thoroughly embarrassed opand I pray that not all the locations bare any resemblance to this one|. The total lack of character and respect in management has surely rubbed off on the lower level employees as this has been the single worst experience I have ever had as a consumer'.

Before any others are treated in this fashion, corporate management should absolutely reanalyze practices at this location and get rid of the people running that store'.Totally unbelievable,

In the old days plasma had a gauge on the box if the tv was laid on its side
Todays plasma can be laid on its side. They are fragile so you should becareful when you transport
