Hi.
I have sent an email to [protected]@planetfitness.co.za on the 22-11-2011 to cancel my gym membership. My contract says I can cancel my membership at any given time, as long as I send them an email and they will process two payments from the month of cancellation. I have only had one correspondence from that, stating that I need to pay them R5000 before canceling. I responded with a note that the contract does not say that. After following up with them four times(telephonically and via email), my contract has still not been cancelled and debit orders are still going through.

How do I get these people to cancel my contract?
Please advise

and i still need to pay the money which i owe you guys when i finish payin i'll come n join again please cancellal my contract the money still goes up and i"m not going to gym anymore thank you

planet fitness are ###s...i sent an email to cancel my contract as well.all they did was ignore me...they just want to make money

The best way to get your money back, and have them really cancel your membership is to do it in person... they can't really ignore someone in their face. Beware though, they will try manipulate you into reconsidering, and come up with all sorts or bogus offers to try appease you into changing your mind.

You think you've got it bad with these idiots. I paid a 3yr contract in cash which is just over R12k and now they are trying to summons me for more money saying that my contract was apparently automatically renewable after the period, forget the fact that I never even went to gym for 2years of my 3yr contract! why would somebody who pays a 3yr contract up front in cash, want to continue the contract monthly after not attending for 2yrs. that's Planet Fitness Bedfordview for you! Please guys, for your own good, stay away from these people! But I must admit I am very unhappy about this. where can I go to report these people, so that they are brought to task? And what are my rights? who do we report them to so that they stop? If anybody can help, please let me know, my e-mail address is: marygerber9@gmail.com

I also cancelled my contract with PF and stopped my D/o with the bank only to be given over to their legal department and owing R2500. Spoke to a Refilwe. As ked her for the original contract but she never emailed it. Then my d/o was re-activated by them and I sent an email in November the same year(2013) to a Lizette Van Loggerenberg to state that I have cancelled my contract etc. She said I needed to pay R3500 to cancel my contract! I told her to do so by d/o only to find that a year and 3months later(now) they are still deducting d/o's! Spoke to aJanine today and she sais I have to pay the cancellation within 24hrs otherwise they cancel the request! can you believe this! I have to pay R3468. today. I will be taking this further!

I sent an e-mail to Planet Fitness Fourways cancelling my contract on Monday - no response. Sent a follow-up today - let's see what happens.

hi Kindly assist with contact details as i tried to get hold of this person and their staff refused to give me the detail.
they owe me debit orders taken falsely from January this year .
multiple emails, drove every time to the bank to reverse payment .and had to pay for detailed 6 month statements still going off the account .my mail address is wpretorius061@gmail.com

I hate this gym. They are inconsiderate and full of nonsense. My issue is still pending.

They doing exactly the same to me and just ignore you when you trying to communicate with them. The operator even hung upon me today! Planet fitness is the WORST!

I have been trying 4x at Lynwood to cancel membership since my contract has already expired in April this year. Twice the staff at the gym referred me to head office. However, there is no contact number and the customer number is always carrying high customer volumes. I was then trying to negotiate a better option at Lynnwood. But still, nobody was even prepared to listen to me or to come up with a better proposal. It seems that I will have to close my Credit Card Account in order to get rid of Planet Fitness.

I did the same yesterday I asked if they can cancel my membership Mpumi Help me out and she said i will have to pay 300some ord to close it and i said ok and i asked how do I pay the money sh said EFT I asked if she could send an email with banking details iam still waiting for that. it's nice to join the gym but if you don't go to gym anymore people should understand your situation for me the last tym I attended Gym was January 2016 its been a year now that is why iam calling cause I know I won't be able to attend anymore.

I experienced the same problem with planet fitness. They stated a contract of R199 only payable next year but already deducted and took out R429 levy fee which was not explained to me.. As it is they have misinformed us, i think they should be owing us money for breach of contact and that we should not let them get away with doing this to clients, as we are paying hard earned money for joining.

I was duped into an "promotional" contract for me and my son and I told the the "manager" I can't afford the R399 contract, so they wrote the amount of R199 for 2 months and R399 for the rest of the 12 months, so I agreed, paid an extra R150 for a Buddy tag. I went to gym every day after work with my son, when he started exams I went alone, then after a few days I was told that my contract doesn't allow me training without my son as I took the contract out on his name to get the cheaper price, so now I can't gym... End of the month comes debit amount from PF R348.00 WTF the guy who gave me the contract was shocked that I didn't understand the contract clearly, now I am stuck with a contract I can't go gym, whats my rights?
