rude managers and employees
I was a member at the New Iberia, Louisiana location of Planet Fitness. Planet Fitness has a policy that requires you to scan your membership card upon entering. Because I own a trucking business I am always in a different vehicle or my trucks are in the shop so I never have the same key ring with me. This means it is hard for me to always have my scan card on me. On a few occasions I did not have my scan card on me and I was rudely told by an employee that I would not be able to enter the premises even though I showed picture I.D. I explained to the manager my problem and she seemed understanding and told me to just ask for a new scan card if I didn't have mine. This seems like a bigger headache than just having them enter my name, but oh well that's their decision. The next time I went to workout and didn't have my card I went directly up to the manager and told her I didn't have my card. I asked her if that was going to be a problem and she copped the biggest attitude and started belittling me about the importance of having my card. After her rant I did snap back at her that I didn't appreciate being fussed at about such a small issue or made to feel that I didn't belong at a place that I pay a monthly membership for. She told me that she didn't like my attitude and her solution to the problem was to cancel my membership on the spot. After a week or so of trying to contact the regional manager he finally called me back and in short said that the manager said I was arrogant and didn't want me as a member. He was unapologetic and it seemed to me like they are doing too well as a business to worry about unhappy customers. The New Iberia location has a real problem with employee attitudes and it seems to be supported by their regional manager. I am happily enjoying another gym in the area and would never consider going back to this rude environment at Planet Fitness.
palm coast incompetent manager
The manager there, Grover M Scott, is an unconscionable manager. He accused me of doing something I would never do and when I complained to the Planet Fitness head office, instead of responding back like a real man, he just cancelled my membership. Just as well, it's one of the worse run Planet Fitness around. I'll find a real gym in the area, one that's run by real professionals in this industry, not some flunky who's never used the equipment he so poorly maintains.
This PF location desperately needs a management shake up. I travel for work and have visited many PFs throughout the country. Would venture to say, the Palm Coast location has the rudest staff of any planet fitness, by far. Yelling and embarrassing customers has No place in any business, but it is really despicable in a Gym environment, ironic that they promote themselves as a "judgement free zone" and then hire people like Aleece

I went to planet fitness in coon rapids, MN and the lady that works there during the night shift was the rudest person you could ever meet. Her name tag said Tracy. She was talking to people like they are stupied. Then the same happend to me when I when to ask for help. I forgot my card and for something small like that she had a fighting match with me about how I should even be at the coon rapid location because they are not making money off of me! What!? I told her that I am a black card member and she still found a way to disagree and argue with me. She has the most horrible customer service ever. I went through the reviews on there site for Google and it seems as if many people has complained about her and pf is allowing it to continue. This is unexcepible the way she talks to people.

So you was watching cody mcdow all day on camera on his cell phone. You called last night and told (will) the manager that allowed cody and hannah to be on their phones. To terminate cody and escort him out like a criminal..
If you review cameras you will see hannah and cody both on their phones side by side when Joshua called and terminated the Male employee, but not the pretty blonde employee. You will also see the manager allowing them on their phones.
So if a lawyer reviews the camera and sees cody and hannah side by side on their cell phones and you only fired the Male. That's wrongful termination based on sex and discrimination. Then he reviews and see the manager will allowing these employees on their phone which he will then that's a hell of a law suit dont you think so too Joshua gass?
I would like a call back or a hirer manager to speak with before I go any further. This corporation is based on none discrimination.

bad service or accommodation
My name is James Sheldon, my partner name is James Wilson. We are both senior citizens. We also belong to Silver Sneakers. We told two of our Silver Sneaker friends that we would report to them about our experience at the 741 E. Barstow Ave, Fresno CA, 93710 facility.
Unfortunately our report is quite negative! Three reason; one, since we don't belong to the hard of hearing generation, the music that being broadcast is much too loud! In fact at times we could not communicate or hear on another because the music was so loud. However, after asking pleasantly to staff to turn please down the music, staff they can't and won't accommodate us! Also with an irritating smile on their face.
Two, it is still Winter and the updraft due to the overhead fans is quite cold! Again no accommodation by Planet Fitness staff. They wouldn't consider lowering or turning off the overhead fans because you are cold. In fact to them that is a no consideration question?
Three, it is a Hygienic Law in California to provide soap for showers, yep you guess it, no soap. Lastly we are going to complain to our Insurance Company about the above grievances. Also discourage our friends from coming here.
Lastly we are quitting, who needs a organization that doesn't accommodate their customers. How can they stay in business?

The employees were exercising instead of being behind the desk.
The beds are messed up. Bed no. 2 screen has been broken for 2 plus months. It hangs over the bed in a bad position. When I complained. I was told to push it to one side. 2 beds were working he last time I went. Only one screen was in the proper position.
The card game on one screen did not work. The TV in front of the chairs does not have a remote. The sound is down. You will be watching a sports channel. I complained and they thought reaching behind the screen was the answer to the problem.

Description of Incident: I am from Pittsburgh, PA and contacted the Edgewood/Swissvale branch of Planet Fitness via telephone to inquire about the current special: 10 down; 10 monthly. The fine print states that a $40 (39 and change) is to be automatically deducted from my checking account. Unfortunately, I don't let anyone automatically deduct from my checking account. Upon expressing my concerns to this condition to membership, Haley (22yr old female) told me that if I could not do that, she could not help me. She became quite condescending, referring to me as "hon". I am 50. My daughter is 23 years old and would never refer to me as "hon". That being said, I cannot imagine that I am the only person who refuses auto withdrawal from their checking account. Ballys and LA fitness tried to do that in Pgh, but now are out of business in Pittsburgh for this reason. I would love to work out at your gym. However, I will not let staff condescend to me, nor will I let someone take money directly from my checking account. Alert Hayley that women older than she is are not her "hon" nor will we sign up for a gym that condones her behaviors. I am sorry you will not be getting my money due to a condescending staff member.

I was working out at the Planet Fitness yesterday. The ab machine in the 30 minute workout area was first of all used by couple who wasn't using the 30 minute area and by two women who were using the 30 minute area. There was this guy just randomly using the machines in the area. I used the machine after I had completed all the other machines in that area. I then proceeded to another area of the facility and after using these other machines returned to the 30 minute area and began using the ab machine since it was not being used. The guy who was randomly using the machines came over and started yelling that I was taking too long on the and the trainer who was apparently going to start a class followed me as I was walking out of the 30 minute area, talking loudly to me, I nodded at him, but he kept following me, tapping me on the shoulder and asking me if I was deaf. I've had this trainer approach me before in the 30 minute area telling me I was doing it wrong. I thought this was supposed to be a "no judgement" gym, there are other locations of Planet Fitness near me and I will use these from now on instead
temperature 74 too hot to exercise
They just fixed the heater and now the temperature is 74.2 degrees inside the gym. This is in the middle of winter 44 degrees outside.

I signed in for the tanning bed Branson gives me the tag n towel I go back n get completely naked and he starts banging on the door telling me to get out. I was back there about 7 minutes at this point. So I get dressed and he proceeds to tell meyou the time ticked over into another person spot so I had to get out n re sign up. I have signed up 100 times and had to wait sometimes twenty twenty-five minutes. He tells me loudly n extremely rudely that's the way it is today. So I ask for the manager. This was about the third time this Brandon has yelled at me at the gym I pay for to go. Once about a guest and another about using a machine too long. This manager says I willcan talk with him after basically telling me I'm the problem. Then he walks over and begins laughing with Brandon. I can tell you this this is not the way you treat customers who faithfully pay theor membership and recommend this gym to all their friends. I will not be doinga this anymore. You all need to get some employees have a better customer Service skills.

I have been a long time customer of planet fitness over 8 years and have never had an issue. However the other day I walk in like normal and have a water jug with me. The employee stops me in front of other customers and said I cannot enter with my water jug and have to leave it at the desk. I was embarrassed as this was in front of numerous customers and I thought the motto of planet fitness was a judgement free zone. I have never seen or heard of any rules that don't allow a water jug. I understand people associate water jugs will "muscle heads" but for me it is a practical way of saving money and refilling my water jug. I am having a hard time understanding why this occurred and if planet fitness is the best option for me going forward thank you
The rules state "no jugs." You can refill a water bottle as often as you like. This should provide you with the equivalent amount of water, or more.
freezing accounts, disrespect, lying manager and nasty facility
I was just hung up on by the general manager, Sherry, at Corsicana's Planet Fitness. I asked for her to provide me with the date of the first freeze as well as proof that i checked in that day. I was home with strep throat and the flu that day and was not able to go to your Corsicana facility for fear of spreading germs. She told me she would print the paperwork, refused to give me the details right then, said I'm hanging up, "I'm sorry I couldn't help you" and hung up on me. I have been involved in customer service for 28+ years. I have never known any company to be as rude and disrespectful to a customer whom has a complaint. My husband walk a letter into there facility himself with both of our names, both of our account numbers, both of our signatures and spoke with the manager who assured him he only needed the one piece of paper for the accounts to both be frozen. The manager also spoke with my husband because my husband considered cancelling but decided to think about it and just leave it frozen until he decided. So, now because the manager not only lied to my husband but did not do the account freeze and now a member of management had the audacity to be rude and hangup on me saying Lindsay had no desire to speak with me anymore or help me any further. All of this addition to the dirtiness of the facility. Attached are the pictures i told them I had to show the dirt and lack of cleanliness in the club. In some of the pictures i cleaned half of it to show how nasty the areas that bare feet are supposed to be placed on by customers. I did get 3 months to use the gym without a charge. But since i was hit with NSF fees and had a bank account closed because of the planet fitness's lack of care and protection of a customers account, which was $99 + ($21.70 × 3) = $164.10. Planet Fitness has only given me $65.10 back. They still owe me $99. They were setup to draft on my debit card account and they instead were drafting my bank account. Two separate accounts. They told me at the club they only use bank routing and account numbers. However, corporate told me it can be either debit on a card or by account ACH. Too many inconsistencies for a client services facility. And my husbands gym account doesn't even have a picture because he signed up online and never used the facility. If they check their records they will see on their own cameras and computers the day the letter that they claim disappeared, the same day account for myself was frozen, has NO picture or checkin record on me. I am very disappointed and I guess if my money that I pay a great customer service experience and use of the facility your company manages, you feel disrespecting a customer is an ethical and best practice for a company that claims they care for customers, that maybe it is time to alert the media or look to other options for the headaches and nastiness at your facilty. I will wait a couple of days to see if maybe someone over the Regional Manager, Lindsay, feels that customers are your lifeline and deserve to be treated with respectful actions and words. If I had been helping a customer, I would not just pawn that customer off on someone else, i would be sure of satisfaction, and I would notice that this Wednesday is the customers birthday and try to be genuinely attentive. Certainly, not the case here. I guess I was further insulted at the lack of concern or care from the regional, general and facility managers. And with my birthday in a couple of days to be so ugly is just wrong if you really care for a customer who is frustrated.

Hello I went into to start a membership and was so disappointed and disrespected I dont know if ill ever go back! The boy who was there alone at the front desk did not know how to sign my friend and I up! So after asking him what he was doing working alone if he didnt know how to do things he told us "he didnt know what to tell us" and was so so rude and disrespectful! I can not believe they would ever allow someone like this to work for them. Ive never been treated or talked to like this! And was told oh well he didnt care if we called his boss and continued to say he didnt know what to tell us for everything we asked or said! Hope you can get this problem resolved and get this young rude boy out of there!

This complaint is about the planet fitness in wappingers falls new York. Let me start by saying that these complaints are from way before they started their renovations, which is ridiculously long by the way.The first problem is the wifi is horrible, even when I'm the only one there its spotty at best. Second, I would say that only half the Ta's work clearly, some have no way of turning them on let alone changing the channel.

I just saw a "no guns allowed" sign that was recently posted on the Planet Fitness location where I am a member in Hermitage, TN. I am a handgun carry permit holder (I have passed a background check, had state certified training and my fingerprints taken by authorities). I am a woman who carries everyday for self defense. Does Planet Fitness not understand that a LEGAL handgun can be carried concealed, secure in a holster inside a fanny pack? Violent criminals can't attack victims on the way to and from the gym trying to get to their vehicle? An evil person can't walk past their silly "sign" and come in to harm/kill people? What safety measures has Planet Fitness put in place now that they disarm me and make me helpless to defend myself? Planet Fitness is now a Helpless Victim Zone. Sitting Duck Zone. I cancelled my membership. If Corporate changes their "Criminal Empowerment Policy" I will rejoin. This is sad & foolish on their part.
In some states, businesses can bar patrons from bringing guns onto the premises. Their business, their rules.

I just learned that my membership was cancelled by a manager due to a misunderstanding. I was stretching in the stretch room... I started to have an allergen dust might attack... I went to get some water. When I returned I noticed the floor was very dirty dusty and had dust balls everywhere. I went to the front desk and told the two girls the situation. They were very nice and concerned. One girl got a very dusty broom and dust pan to clean it up. I laughed and said do you have a vacuum? This should be vacuumed cause the broom was dusty too! The girl took offense to this and as she stormed out I said I was just trying to teach you about proper cleaning. I said to the guy next to me that I felt bad cause she was just helping but it wasn't her job to clean the floor. Later as I was leaving the manager pulled me aside and told me his employee said I was being disrespectful to her... Which I really wasn't but she took offense and made me sound like a monster! I was shocked and couldn't believe I was being accused of this after I had an attack and wanted it to be cleaned properly. I had to be somewhere so I said that this was above me and I said I wouldn't be going back to that location reguardless. I went to another location and my account was terminated! I've been going to this gym for a year with no problems. I work with families and children and would never be mean to someone especially if they were only helping. The manager should have taken care of it and it wasn't even done that whole time I worked out. He took her word over mine and insulted me! Then he cancelled my membership for all planet fitness! This is the only gym in my area and I also travel a lot and use other ones. I use the hydro bed for therapy and its an important part of my wellbeing and enables me to work (I'm a painter). My complaint about Planet Fitness, Johnstown PA, is 2 fold. Check the fine print on their gym membership. By the way, this is the first complaint I have ever filled out on line for anything in my 47 years. When my wife first signed us up, they mad us give bank account access. She gave it through our debit card and also straight through our account. She had apparently gave them a digit off of our debit card. They double charged us for 4 memberships, so there was a total of 8 transactions taken out against us. I had to do all the double checking and told that we were wrong. The extra charges, which were $80 in total, were due to our error. I asked politely if there was anything that could be done. They informed me that I would have to complain to some manager. I complained, no one ever got back to and nothing was done. I should have quit Planet Fitness then, however my wife wanted to join the gym and over look their double charging of us. Fast forward 4 months and I had four $39.00 payments ($156) taken out of my checking account beyond our normal $10 gym membership. I was told it was our annual membership fee. No where in any advertising or promotion, did they ever indicate that there is any annual gym membership fee. I called to complain and was told, do I have a copy of my contract with me. I said "of course not". I was told that there was no way that they could refund any of the annual membership fees (4 months into my membership). Basically I was told that the customer was always wrong and they are right. As a side note when I decided to quit Planet Fitness, I was told that I must do it in person. I went up there and 2 other people were cancelling their membership, and I overheard 4 complaint phone calls about the $39 annual fees.
Look elsewhere for your gym membership. They have terrible customer service and the customer is always wrong. I was so disgruntled that I cancelled the gym membership 1 day after they stole the $156 out of my account. I will not deal with those thieves again.

I called May 13th to see how to cancel my membership. I was told I needed to come in person and sign paperwork. They had just taken my payment for that month so I was stuck with another month. I was told just to come in before the 13th of next month and there would be no more charges.
I went in person June 1st guess what annual maintenance fee just charged me that day for another year.
I asked to speak to manager and she looked up my account saw I called about cancelling I assured her had I been told about any other fees I would have come in. why would I want to pay for another year starting June 1 when I wanted to quit in may. She assured me there was nothing she could do for me.
I believe he told me to just wait and come in so they could charge me the maintenance fee.
They got me for an extra month. 2x15.98 for my son and myself.
They got me for 2x 29.00 for our maintenance for the next year we wont be going.
I really think it is pathetic that they rip the clients off like this
I have Planet Fitness, and the membership agreement you signed clearly states the annual membership is charged June 1st every year and is nonrefundable. You agreed to this when you signed up. You should have went in before the 1st. This is no scam. It is a binding contract that you agreed to.

Money was stolen in the locker room. My husband had money stolen out of his pants. His locker was locked. We asked the manager if we should file a police report and were told to not bother. I do not feel safe at this Planet Fitness in Elyria. The other members of this club need to be notified about the thieves.

Complained to the Company HQ, and got a dodge' em reply on how
convienient it is for all the "new to gyms" customers. is this right, they

accounts! Or its no matter what happens over charge or not we want
the money, you can TRY and get it back later. Can't believe all the people
that so freely give up that access! Went someplace else, no issues.

I don't know what they meant about on probation or new to gym comment. That is how it is at all Planet Fitness. You see the amount of complaints here from people not wanting to pay yearly fee? I can only imagine the hassle if they had to deal with the monetary end on a daily or monthly basis. These people are bouncing checks of $39? Do you think they would actually come in and pay every month? Planet is a great facility, plenty of machines, free classes, clean shower, locker room and tanning/massage 24/7 for $20 @month? Come on now, most tanning alone is $30 a month!
